About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

MC (40,406) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
LambilyWW, why don't you just overlook the technicalities and go with the positive side of my post? I was basically talking about how two of her amazing singles, which most people don't know about. A lot of people are talking about Mariah's voice recently and I don't really need Mariah to keep singing high power ballads to me throughout the album. I will be fine with a few. I don't mind her doing hip hop influenced songs because that is something she loves and I like it too. I know some fans want her to completely go back to early 90's MC with the big voice and the strong ballads, and that's fine, I adore those too, but I am not the kind of lamb who don't appreciate her music post Daydream because it's more hip hop flavored! And yes people talk about how fans should give Mariah a break and not push her to release for albums, well darling I am sorry if I can't get enough of Mimi.

Triumphant / Almost Home (40,388) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I know many lambs don't really like Triumphant, but I like it a lot. Yes it sounds like Mariah is a featured artist on her own track, but her parts were nice and breezy. It's not her great piece of work, but it is fine. I also like the Vintage Remix. Don't care much for the other 3 remixes. Almost Home was such a beautiful song. With proper promos I think it would have done good. But a lot of people now probably don't even know about it.

Dav / new album tracklist (40,375) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Dav, maybe you haven't noticed but many people on the board did talk about the NYE performance and everyone praised her vocals. Wasn't there a track list circulating for TAOLG? Although it could be fake, but the songs TAOLG and a duet with Stevie was listed on it. Although now Mariah maybe have replaced some of those tracks with newer songs. 14th February, I can't wait! Also I hope the album follows soon after.

NYE (40,363) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Blown away by the performance. Mariah looked stunning. She must have been freezing though, poor MC. but oh well we know she'll do anything to be festive and super glamorous. I loved the little impromptu speech before TAOLG, so cute. The performance was great, no overtly touching herself, no unnecessary movements, just standing there being awesome, the signature hand movements, and the sexy leather gloves. I love that MC is making leather/satin gloves her new fashion statement. She sang the hell out of her old smash hits, it can be argued that it was dubbed or pre-recorded, but honestly how can anyone expect a person to sing completely live in such cold weather. Super excited about the Valentine's Day single release announcement. Still over a month. Can I wait? For MC I will.

Critics (40,343) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
If a recent post about critics is directed at me, then this is for you. I am a huge MC fan, so don't tell me that I am criticizing her because she isn't topping the charts. I don't sit here and criticize her. Whenever I saw something positive, I always talk about it. I even talked about her Buble performance, Glitter and her other underrated stuff. So just because a few of my posts are pointing out what Mariah's camp of "yes men" are not telling her, it's because I would rather have her know some of the stuff that her people don't tell her and it ultimately makes her look bad. Do I want Mariah to be back at number 1? Yes with all my heart. Am I hating on Mariah because she isn't on top? Never. So don't make statements that "those critics will come back running when Mariah is back on top" because it's not like I get benefits or profits from MC's success. My love for MC is unconditional. I will keep pointing out flaws if I see any because I would do that for any person I love. Mariah is human, she has flaws, deal with it. If you have problems with it, please scroll up.

Mariah's "real" fans (40,338) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Some people here think that real Mariah fans can't say anything negative or critical about her. Anyone who will dare criticize MC will be attacked. That's silly. We are all on this board because we love MC, and if here and there some of us do worry about her recent activities, it's only because we care about her. I've said this before, the excuse of Mariah concentrating on her kids doesn't really cut it for me. Like Edward said, there are plenty of women working multiple jobs, while still taking care of their family. Mariah isn't the only one in show business who got married and has kids. Look at Beyonce, Britney, Angelina Jolie and many others. Someone here indirectly insulted me, when in a previous post I mentioned how Beyonce had Blue after Mariah and still released 2 CDs and went on tour. Mariah definitely has nannies and Nick to occasionally take care of the kids, she had 4 years to come up with a 12-15 track CD. I still stand by the fact that Mariah is acting weird during her interviews and it's not just her playful side. She keeps going off track and the host keeps trying to steer her back into track but she doesn't listen. Like Fallon, he kept asking about TAOLG and she kept naming her dogs, the interview ended with us getting zero info on the track and much info about her dogs and cleavage. Same with the Christmas interview at her home, she rambling and at one point the host was like "Marian hold up". I do genuinely care about MC and I hope she gets her act together.

Last album (40,298) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I don't see what's all the fuss about? You should not take everything she says so seriously. She was just talking about a hypothetical situation. Like if something happened to her (like she lost her voice or was in any accident God forbid), and she could not give her fans another album then she would want her last album to be the best they had. Or who knows MC could have put in that line to spark a controversy because the album is coming soon and it's important to get people to start talking about it all over again. I say this because by now a lot of people have given up on the album. Especially after the release date was cancelled. It might sound harsh but even though MC is the best singer of our time, even she needs publicity stunts to keep herself on the map, because other people are catching up to her legacy. I hope she bags a few more number ones soon or Rihanna is seriously going to take over!

Little known facts article (40,290) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The article has so many errors. 1) Her fans don't call her lambily. That's stupid. She calls her fans/lambs her extended family or "lambily". 2) Patti LaBelle isn't really her godmother, she just calls her that out of respect and love. 3) DemBabies is her nickname for her twins. Technically the website is DemBabies.com. 3) Her mom was an opera singer, not a voice coach, she coached Mariah that's true, but professionally she was an opera singer. 5) Although it's not an error but just singling out "Butterfly" as the album where she wrote her own songs is a bit misleading. She has been writing songs from a very young age, and all her songs from her first record are written/co-written by her with the exception of the songs of other artists she covered and some tracks in which she was a featured artist.

MC (40,280) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I enjoyed the WWHL interview of Mariah. Overall it was good and Mariah didn't go too off topic this time. The Eminem part was straight up hilarious. Her face when the question was asked was so cute. About her mixing up song names, maybe she didn't mix up? Maybe those were two separate sentences like "you don't follow up Obsessed with IWKWLI" and "Migrate should have been a single for 'that' album (as in E=MC2)". Because she was asked if she thought some of her single worthy songs weren't released or something. So yes even though it sounds like she mixed up her album names, maybe it's just the way she said it. Lastly, she says her album is coming soon, I really hope so. I need a full length album like real soon!

Buble (40,257) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
MC and Buble performance, so cute. And he let her take most of the lines. Adorable performance. MC please give me more songs.

clueey23 / jaker20 (40,218) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Her album includes 17 videos, obviously the label had to finance those and music videos are part of promotion. So it can't be said that her label was completely against it and yet financed 17 music videos. It doesn't seem like a rushed project because so many videos weren't just filmed in one day. It took time and planning and she diverted all the attention towards herself right before Christmas. Her timing was perfect. The other post about her songs being unpolished and rushed, I do not agree with it as well. I heard them and they seem fine, like normal Beyonce songs. It's true some of the songs may not be great, but it definitely was not unpolished. Some of the songs were just meant to be raw, while the others had more heavy production. But then we all have our own opinions.

Beyonce (40,206) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That was a genius move. Wow. It created a worldwide frenzy and people will rush to buy the album just because of that. It's new, it's fresh, it's innovative. I am really shocked. But what upsets me is that Mariah could not do this. She is wasting her time talking about how she downplayed her shoulder injury, about Nick's operation, if the interviewers like her dress, talking about how risky her neckline is and all, when her fans desperately need her to release new material. I am not a big Beyonce fan but this was honestly an brilliant move. All this time she was on tour all over the world and she stlll found time to do this, and not just a mixtape or EP, a full fledged album. Complete with 17 music videos. And Mariah had 4 years and still could not come up with an album. I love Mariah, but recently her work ethics have really made me upset. People might say she is married, had kids, let her have her personal time, well so did Beyonce. Secondly, if you are in entertainment business, you basically need to work all the time to stay relevant. Rihanna is really close to overtaking Mariah. Which is ridiculous considering the fact that Mariah is way above Rihanna in talent. But this business is about staying relevant.

Today Show (40,194) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
We'd be a little delusional if we don't see Mariah being a little irrelevant during interview. From around the 4.37 mark of the interview where the interviewer tries to move on to the next part and Mariah starts talking about her negligee. The open basically keeps saying "ok ok Mariah wait" because Mariah wasn't stopping and obviously the interview had a time limit so the woman had to move to the next part. Also when the interviewer was going to ask about AIWFCIY, Mariah started talking about "they call the wind Mariah". Opening and closing her satin robe and going on and on about how she's giving her a peak when the interviewer asked to see her closet.

Today Show (40,181) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I started watching the interview. I was happy Mariah was behaving when [...] she starts blabbering again. I know it's supposed to be a fun interview, but even the interviewer at one point was like ok just hold up Mariah, because MC wasn't letting her talk. What is happening? And just when everyone is saying she should now put on a more serious image, she started messing with her robes and Agent Provacateur slippers.

MC (40,165) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah should really get into her TEOM mode. She promoted that album a lot! She did not start rambling on about random unrelated things during interviews. She gave some very memorable performances. She changed the songs here and there to adjust to her voice. A common example would be "We belong together". There are many changes she does to the song when she sings it live. That's great, I like it. She doesn't have to sing exactly like the studio version. Nowadays she keeps rambling during interviews, talking about her dog and champagne and camera angles even when the host themselves are trying to steer her towards related topics. Her performances haven't been great. It hurts me to see her go down like this. If she really wants to stay in the business she should get serious, and yes I think she is not being serious because it's a fact. Now people on this board may throw darts my way, I don't care. Someone needs to tell MC to get her act together, I don't want her to fade away.

AIWFCIY superfestive (40,062) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I actually liked the Bieber duet. I think it was cute and gives the song a whole new look. The original is definitely a classic, but I like the duet too. It's cute and festive. The climax was fun with both of them ad libbing.

TAOLG (40,052) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
We should all just leave it now. It's obvious that nothing more will come out of it, so enjoy the song, and wait for next year. It's already December, so it's not to far away. I think they may have something planned for February, single or album, can't be sure. So yes let's just wait for it, and in the mean time enjoy watching Mariah perform this season. Arguing whether the single would have been a hit or not is fruitless, it's too late for that. And I am sure Mariah, JD and her team know better than us because they are the ones who are actually in the music business, not us.

Christmas (40,039) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I'm excited that Mariah will be finally performing after so long! I'm especially excited about the Buble duet. I hope some album news follows soon. Christmas time usually always puts MC back in the news, I hope she takes this opportunity to start promoting her album. I need me some MC music dahlin'.

Randy / R Kelly / Mike Will Made It (40,022) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Oh wow, I never thought of it like that. That letting go can be about the label and not just a person. Makes sense that way too. Nice interpretation. I guess Mariah did indeed succeed in keeping this song open to different meanings. I'm excited about the R Kelly collaboration. Might be a sultry duet. There are rumors MC also worked with Mike Will Made It, he seems to be working with a lot of people currently. I wonder what he cooked up with MC. A dream collaboration for me would be Michael Jackson and Mariah Carey (I know they did the charity single, but not like that, I mean like a romantic song or something upbeat I don't care). MJ and MC are the greatest singers ever. Alas this is something that won't happen.

Autotune (40,019) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Mariah hardly uses autotune. She doesn't need it, but even in some rare cases when she does, I don't mind it. I mean come on the woman can sing! And pretty darn great at that. So she's got nothing to prove, that's why the occasional autotune in songs like Migrate, I'm That Chick, Obsessed doesn't bother me.

3) Musicbox: ATYNAF , Never Forget You
4) Daydream: When I Saw You, Long Ago, Melt Away, Forever, Looking In

Star magazine (40,011) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wouldn't take Star magazine seriously. I heard Star and National Enquirer come up with ridiculous stories about celebrities, especially couples, all the time. Their other favourite target being Brangelina. But what worried me is the Barbara Walter and the recent radio interview. I watched the Walters interview with Dembabies when it first came out, and I kinda forgot about it, but yesterday I came across a snippet where when Barbara asked if MC trusts Nick, she said "sometimes". Then MC went like when he is nice, he is great. So Barbara asks like is he bad at other times, and MC is like "he's a man Barbara". And in the recent interview also she seemed a little upset about Nick. I really hope I am wrong, because I think they are an adorable couple, and have two adorable kids. If anything is wrong, which I hope is not, I hope they work it out.

Licia / Glitter (40,003) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I am from the 90's. And I still really like Glitter. Most, if not all the songs are great on that album and the ballads are really heartfelt. And the 80's remake with a modern touch was pure genius. That album was way ahead of time. People didn't appreciate it. They were too busy trying to make fun of Mariah's mental state and hence overlooked the album. And a lot of people writing articles on Mimi have a habit of saying stuff like "oh she's the biggest selling female artist except for a hiccup - Glitter, or a disappointment Glitter". I am sure most of these writers didn't really even listen to the album, they just went with what others said. I think some of her most underrated work are some of her best. People talk about her well known singles, which are definitely great, but she also has some really amazing album cuts.

Article (39,998) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I enjoyed reading the Buzzfeed article. The line "guess she shoulda wrote a song that finally finds out what rhymes with hug me instead" cracked me up lol. It's a shame that the music industry has changed so much that people with real talent are nowadays being overshadowed by "showy", over the top and talentless artists. I love MC's music, and I equally appreciate her classic songs along with her hip hop infused ones. People diss Glitter and all, I really don't get why. It has a lot of great songs (Lead The Way, Reflections, Never Too Far, If We, Loverboy). I hope her new CD comes with a bang. I desperately need more MC songs and I want MC on top of the charts again. Only she can do it!

#Beautiful remix video (39,992) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I wonder why MC decided not to release the video of the remix. If I remember correctly, Nick said that after the fall, he rushed to take MC to the hospital but she told him to stay back and finish the video. Then someone said that MC went back the next day and finished filming the rest of the video. A few days later some from her camp, or someone related to making the video tweeted that the video is almost ready or already ready and he can't wait for the fans to see it. So then what happened? I would really like to see it, I really enjoyed the hip hop remix.
