About Dove from USA: "Just sing from your heart the entire time and your notes will continue to shine regardless of the dirt that gets splattered around you." - Mariah Carey

Duets (45,755) by Dove from USA
It would be amazing if Mariah did a duets album with Paul McCartney or Brian Wilson. Imagine what type of songs they could crank out; those guys are musical geniuses. I also really love Jason Mraz because his songs have a happy, positive vibe that makes me feel present in the moment and thankful to be alive. That pure blissful energy matched with Mariah's voice and melodies would be beautiful. Another crazy wish of mine is for Mariah to do an entire worship album. I know it probably won't happen because it's not politically correct but when I listen to Kari Jobe's Majestic it improves my whole day. I long for an album from Mariah that is fully: present, uplifting, deep, positive, and thankful. Because that's the mind set I want to have. Of course I appreciate the art she does give us, these are just wishes. Regarding the hip hop club bangers, you guys made great lists of songs I had forgotten about, thanks.

Tour (45,720) by Dove from USA
I hope she sings new songs on this tour. Like all the songs from MIAM and a few upbeat songs from other albums, like Migrate. I feel like she always sings Hero and I love Hero but I've already heard her sing it a million times. My favorite concert was the Daydream era Tokyo concert. I don't believe she'll ever sing those songs better than she did that night, so I don't think she should try. She has hundreds of good songs she's never sung live that are begging to be sung. Regarding covers, I love the song I Want To Know What Love Is. I think it's such a heart wrenching song but I feel the production could have been better. At the end when she really starts feeling it, it just ends. I feel it could have gone longer. A really good, longer, live version would have been awesome. I love the way she looks when she performed it on The View. Against All Odds is really powerful too. I can't choose a favorite. Or maybe she could sing them that good again but she's already sung them perfectly and it was captured on video. I just want to hear her sing songs she's never sung before.

Relaunch (45,691) by Dove from USA
I hope it's true but I'm afraid to get my hopes up.

Nick (45,690) by Dove from USA
I had the same reaction when I found out they had gotten married; at first I was shocked but when I saw how happy she looked I was happy for her and the relationship grew on me. I started watching more of his shows and interviews and he seemed like a good guy that truly loved Mariah. There are reports that he cheated on her and a private investigater caught him on different occasions. If that's true, that he cheats on her, I don't like it. I don't think any woman should stay with a cheater because if he's cheating he doesn't truly love her as much as he says. If he's going to do that then he might as well stay single like George Clooney. Cheaters are selfish and don't understand or care how much their cheating hurts their partner. I hope it's not true but if it is I understand her wanting a divorce.

Divorce (45,675) by Dove from USA
He hasn't posted anything about her on Facebook either. Well he does have Robin Thick and Howard Stern as friends and carries a pimp cane. He seemed like such a good guy too. If these divorce rumors are true I hope he will be a gentleman and not air their dirty laundry. This is reminding me of Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher in that he married an attractive and rich older lady to help his career and then dumped her. It angers me and I hurt for her just thinking about it. MC looked happy at the Hercules premier, though. If she does get depressed I hope she seeks counseling and doesn't get stuck there. Life is short.

B sides and rarities (45,665) by Dove from USA
I was lucky to get the albums and didn't get any of the singles, except One Sweet Day because a friend gave it to me on my birthday in 7th grade. I didn't listen to DYTOM, SA, or EFA until a few years ago and I felt like I had missed out back then because I didn't even know they existed. It would be cool if they released an album of B sides and rarities. I really loved 100% and Almost Home. Those are strong powerhouse vocals. I love, love the video to Almost Home. Whenever I watch it I end up watching it a bunch of times because it's so beautiful. It really captures her essence and I can't stop staring at her face. I like the lighting, how it goes from light to dark, and the action scenes of the movie fit with the song perfectly. I would also like if she released the song Imperfect. I really like the song Try by Colbie Collait and I imagine it would be in the same vein. Also, Do You Know Where You're Going To the Diana Ross cover.

Darryle (45,661) by Dove from USA
I hope you're right about everything you said. I hope they do just want to spend more time together and if they are having problems that they'll work through them. Even though MIAM is a masterpiece, maybe it was released to fulfill her contract and leave the label. Maybe she is working on something new and will shop it around or release it independently. I hope we won't have to wait another 5 years for it though. Next year would be ideal.

MIAM (45,660) by Dove from USA

I agree that it is perfect. I feel like someone hacked into my brain and wrote an album about something I went through. I'm not broken hearted right now but I was for many years. I was hooked on the same person, and I couldn't let go. It's crazy because you try to let go but then you're pulled back. It's up and down, up and down, up and down, until you finally get off that ride. For me, I turned to God to fill that hole and help me finally turn the page. Personally, I don't believe God is Santa Clause, so the last song is fitting for what I went through too. In this interview with Angie Martinez she says, "People want to hear the break up love songs, the I hate you love songs, the I used to love you and I can't get over it no matter what I do every day of my life forever and ever." I was one of those people for years and years. This album will always remind me of that experience. When I hear some of the sad songs like Cry, Camouflage, and One More Try, it reminds me of the agony and depression I felt during that time. A+ Mariah.

Bill (45,651) by Dove from USA
Thank you Bill. I appreciate reading everyone's thoughts and opinions on here. Sometimes I skip some of them because I have nothing of value to add but I'll thumbs up it if I do agree or like what its saying.

Nick (45,649) by Dove from USA
When I saw they sold their house it kind of made my heart sink to my stomach because for some reason it doesn't feel like a good thing. She did seem upset on the Valentine's Day interview. He said, "Valentine's Day starts now" when asked about their V-Day plans and she responded by saying, "Valentine's Day started this morning." Then in a different interview she said she didn't know where her husband was going to be on Valentine's Day or something. I just want her to be happy.

The Truth (45,643) by Dove from USA
I wish I was one of her marketing trolls. My job is not as glamorous, I'm actually a nurse. I feel like I can't win on here. At first I was just saying whatever was on my mind and some of it was critical but some people on here didn't like that. So then I thought; "Okay, I'll focus on only the positive" because apparently that's what a "real fan" does; but now that's a problem too.

Feeling enthusiastic (45,617) by Dove from USA
Thanks Ken. I'm glad you appreciate my enthusiasm. I was starting to feel like an annoying Stan but really it's because I have nothing else to do right now. I'm on vacation, my son is with his dad, and I already cleaned. I don't know what to do with myself so I've just been reading, watching movies, and coming on here. Stacey, I did see the video with the Rock and it was really cute. They did seem really happy to see each other. They would have made a cute couple in another life. I really hope they make a DVD with visuals for this CD and put it on Netflix. For Cry and One More Try it can just be the same as Camouflage. Then Supernatural can be like AIWFC with home video footage of the family but especially dem babies, like when they were born until now. Maybe some footage of them singing. For Heavenly (No Ways Tired/Can't Give Up Now) they can use the performance from the TV special. You Don't Know What to Do can be Studio 54 style with a gold dress. Or any other idea they have but I'm craving some visuals.

House (45,616) by Dove from USA
This house looks like the one from the Real Husbands show, and the At Home concert, and the When Christmas Comes video. I wonder why they used that other house.

Trish (45,610) by Dove from USA
She had the diva attitude even before Nick, though. I agree that this album shows more of her personal side and she seems more connected and real. Maybe she doesn't seem grounded because we hardly see her, and when we do it seems like she doesn't want to be there, like she would rather be at home with her kids. At first I didn't love Supernatural that much either. I thought it was cute but, like you said, not deep enough. But then I started thinking about when my son was a baby before he really started talking. I mean, you love them but you don't really know them yet. As they start getting older and you get to know their personalities, there's more to say. When they're babies you just know you love them unconditionally and they love you and accept you that way too. It's a love like no other, like the way God loves us. Then one day they say something that makes your heart feel like its going to burst with pride and love; like, "I'm a chanteuse." Because you realize that's your kid a real person and not just a cute baby and they have a lot in common with you. Then I realized it is pretty deep.

Camouflage video idea (45,608) by Dove from USA
She's wearing the black knee length dress she wore when she performed with the New York Philharmonic last year. (I really love the way she looked that night.) It's a stripped down version with just the main vocal track and the piano. The person that co-wrote the song/accompanist is in the video too. So it's just the two of them, a shiny black grand piano, and maybe white roses and candles. Oh and the video is in black and white.

Meteorite video idea (45,607) by Dove from USA

For the Meteorite video I envision the beginning (including the spoken part) showing a meteorite coming towards the Earth, like it shows in this movie trailer. Then she's laying down in the crater and the camera comes closer to her, just like in the trailer. She's wearing the dress from her Paris wedding and her hair is like it was at when she sang with the New York Philharmonic last year. So she's laying there and she sings, "Gotta get up, cause you know the world is waiting." And so she stands up and the ground she's standing on lifts her up and suddenly she's on a stage. She starts singing and at first she's looking at the camera but as the song progresses she gets more into it and the audience (us) disappears for her, she's in her own world and starts to glow from within (like in the movie). When she sings "You've got the night to light up the sky" she's surrounded by a starry night but she's the brightest star in it.

Nick (45,604) by Dove from USA
I agree that a lot of these songs sound like they're about Nick. I think he works a lot because he wants to provide for his family, and not just mooch off of Mariah, and I respect that about him. Whenever he talks about her in interviews, it seems like he truly loves her and admires her. But all that working may also hurt their relationship because they're apart so much. I think he's really good for her and balances her out. Whenever I see them together her face is so calm, and at peace, and she looks enamored him too. I agree that if she doesn't like him talking about their private life he should respect that and not do it. I don't think he tarnished her image because when he talks about her most of the time it's funny and makes her seem more relatable. You'd have to be a down-to-earth person to be married to him. I don't think he should have said he slept with Kim K or talked about past g/f's but he was on Howard Stern and probably felt pressured. I don't think he's like KFed and Britney because it seemed like that guy was giving her drugs and just looking for a meal ticket. Nick is super healthy and doesn't even drink. Before Mariah was all about her career; when she married Nick she was enjoying being in love and then she had the kids and wanted to take care of them. Maybe Nick did have something to do with the decline of her career but I think it was for good reasons. She started having a real life outside of work. I think the ideal situation would be for Nick to support Mariah with one last huge comeback. Go on tour with her and everything. Then she could kind of retire: move with Nick to California and just do indie records for fun while helping him realize his dreams.

Edward (45,603) by Dove from USA
I misunderstood why you brought up the starving kids comment, I thought you were saying that all stars make dumb remarks sometimes. But anyway, I'm glad Mariah didn't say it. Yeah, I never like when she shades any other artists, why even mention them. Most of the time she doesn't though. Why do interviewers always have to bring up other artists? It's annoying and uncomfortable. If MC wants to talk about other artists she'll bring them up herself. There have been so many female artists that were supposed to be "The Next Mariah" who have come and gone. I wish Mariah had the respect she deserves but sadly, it seems you can't get it unless you die.

Money ($*/...) and starving children (45,602) by Dove from USA
Mimi L, I like your idea. Jet plane would probably be better because that's what it says in the song. She does look gorgeous in those pics. She looks like she's a really healthy 30 year old, her skin. I loved the shoes and that her toned legs reemerged. I'm so glad she didn't really say that about the starving children. I had heard that before but I couldn't find any sources.

Re: Let's jump on the "Let's-Hate-Katy Wagon" (45,581) by Dove from USA

It sounds like a blatant diss to me. It almost sounds exactly like what Mariah said about Madonna in 1995. The difference is that Madonna dissed Mariah first and Mariah was probably offended and retaliating. Katy Perry is only a year younger than me and I remember Mariah from my childhood vividly, like it was yesterday. She was already a huge success. In Katy's documentary, it sounded like she wasn't allowed to listen to secular music growing up anyway, so what is she talking about? It was clearly done to make Mariah seem irrelevant. Her followers are mostly young and will follow whatever she says. Just like the little kids on the Mariah Vs Ariana video. They are told Mariah is a has-been so they mindlessly repeat it and believe it. But the same kids will say that Michael Jackson is "The King" and Whitney Houston is "The Voice". Regarding Mariah's starving kids comment: I couldn't find footage of it but to me it sounds like she really does feel badly for the starving kids, but then she tried to lighten the mood by making a joke which unfortunately was in bad taste. She was young and messed up but clearly it was a naive mistake and not a marketing attempt to sabotage anybody.

Money ($*/...) (45,576) by Dove from USA
Coming in on a helicopter while looking super excited and amazed at the gorgeous scenery below, the look of awe that's on her face when she's admiring the angels on the ceiling and then looking outside the window at that breathtaking view, the joy of being able to give an amazing tip, rolling around on good sheets, shopping Pretty Woman style, walking into a restaurant looking like a queen and having everybody turn and admire you, ordering everything on the menu and really enjoying your food without a worry in the world, going skiing and base jumping (or for Mariah maybe a hot air balloon ride) spa treatments, gambling. I think it would make her seem relatable to see that she still enjoys and appreciates all the awesomeness that is her life. Not showing off, but really enjoying and appreciating it. It would also be cool if they cut to show scenes of her and Nick at their weddings looking happy and in love and having fun, maybe dancing at their wedding. And then also scenes of her singing this song (like in the Bye Bye video) in a concert and everyone singing back to her with their hands in the air. Then at the end she gets off the plane and Nick is there waiting for her with a car board sign that reads: Mrs. Cannon. I want Nick in the video because I really like him. I think this song is about him so I think it would be cool for her kids and grandkids to see one day. That's my cheesy (but I think sweet) concept. When I hear this song I think of all the amazing things and experiences money can buy, which makes me think of the movie Last Holiday starring Queen Latifah. I think it would be neat if Mariah remade parts of that movie for this video. Most of my favorite parts are in this trailer.

Bill and RockyRoc (45,575) by Dove from USA
Bill, thank you. The whole first album is amazing. I've been playing it a lot lately. I was amazed to find that a lot of the best songs on that album were already written before she even signed to CBS records. Wow. RockyRoc, I went and looked for that video and you're so right. Ariana is very good but Mariah blows her out of the water. MC's voice just sounds so open, like she doesn't strain or struggle at all. Especially in the live performances back then.

Question (45,568) by Dove from USA
When I found this site I had Googled "Mariah Carey discussion board" and this was the first link on that day. But I just noticed it says Messageboard. Is this a discussion board or more of a guest book type board? Are we only supposed to be posting the positive things we think, as if she would be reading them? [Webmaster: "Do you want to share your thoughts and ideas with other Mariah Carey fans. Are you looking for a special item for your collection? Or do you just want to talk about Mariah?" This means you can talk about everything Mariah related, the good and the bas stuff. But please don't insult Mariah, other artists or posters.]

I just heard her version of Vanishing and although it was really good it was nowhere compared to the original. Whenever I hear other artists sing Mariah songs it makes me appreciate Mariah that much more. MC makes it sound effortless, like she just talks that way.

Super human (45,564) by Dove from USA
I was watching old YouTube videos of when MOIA came out. She was going on all the talk shows promoting her new fragrance Forever. She was putting it between her boobs and other parts of her body and singing notes. When I watch it now I think it's really cute and "so Mariah" but back then I remember I criticised her on a discussion board for doing that. I mean, I wasn't the first one to say it but I agreed. Also that she was acting like a drunk valley girl. After that she went on another talk show and she had a stone cold face and didn't do the fragrance routine that time. I feel so bad about that now because maybe someone told her what was being said and it hurt her feelings. Or they told her she couldn't do it. It just makes me think that I will be more careful with my criticism from now on. I think sometimes I live vicariously through her because she has a glamorous life, she's talented, rich, beautiful, sexy, blessed in every way. I think sometimes we see her as super human and even though we do love her maybe some of us do get a little jealous in a way, including me.
