MC 2017? (113,943) by TJ from Norway
I'm all the same. I've been standing by her side since 1990, but her latest album was the last drop for me. I bought my self a new sound system with dvd/cd player. I now enjoy her old music, and what I will call the "true Mariah", and yes, I will keep on posting here.

Death Becomes Her (113,926) by TJ from Norway
Looking at those pictures of MC in the white dress, makes me a little sad. When I was younger, I hoped that she would age with grace and not fall into this plastic fantastic world of celebrities. Yes, she looks "youthful", but it is not her face anymore. It's like looking at a completely different person, when you compare her 1992 face and now. It looks sad, hurt and soulless. Anyone seen the movie Death Becomes Her?

Brenda K on relationship with MC (113,782) by TJ from Norway
That's the same video that we have been discussing.

I became a huge fan during the release of her debut album, but started collecting cd singles in 1993, and are still looking for some old "gold" from her first two albums. I'm just so glad I experienced the pre-diva version.

Brenda K on relationship with MC (113,752) by TJ from Norway
But Brenda K Starr is also making up a story here, isn't she (not asking myself, just adding something more to my other message)? Didn't Mariah release I still Believe in 1998 or something, and the Around the World DVD in 99? Wasn't her breakdown in 2001?
We are all getting older and forgetful. That includes Brenda too.

Brenda K on relationship with MC (113,751) by TJ from Norway
I think Brenda is telling the truth about how the tape was given to Tommy. I am sure I both read interviews about this in the early 90's, and heard Mariah tell this on tv. It's the same with the acting. She said in the early 90's that she didn't want to be an actress, because singers should do what they know. She also was against having kids that would grow up in the public eye.

My former neighbor used to work for Sony Music, and met her/worked with her a lot of times when she gave interviews or was doing other promotional stuff, and she said that Mariah went from being a humble and shy person to lose contact with the real world in just a few years (already around 1994 when she released her Christmas album). She was a totally different person in her eyes.

I think Mariah who lives in Mariah World, tries to make her own story to fit in what picture she wants us to believe in. And I think that she believes it's the truth, even if it's not. It's very easy to give people (or make) false memories of how things went.

I hope that my message makes some sense.

This has to be by far the best comment I've read in a long time. This describes ithe situation perfectly.

Here It For All (113,681) by TJ from Norway
Is it the range, or the nasal metallic sound that is the problem with her voice these days? I tried to listen to the same song a couple of weeks ago, but I had to turn it off, because the sound of her voice just hurt my ears. It is not pleasant to listen to.

Mariah's too epic for words (113,637) by TJ from Norway
Maybe she doesn't have enough fans to vote for her to win. There's no secret that she lost millions of fans in the late 90's. The few that has attended after that, aren't enough.

I think it is sad that she didn't go pop earlier. Why follow the flow, when you can make the way? I really, really hope that she is done with RnB. I know I am.

A full-throated defense of Glitter (113,547) by TJ from Norway
I can't remember Mariah saying that she always wanted to act when she was growing up. I do remember reading interviews where she said that she didn't want to be an actress, and that singers/musicians should stick to what they knew, which was music. If this was after the release of Bodyguard or Evita, I can't recall.

Prisoner (113,542) by TJ from Norway
Is this old news, or have this link been discussed before? It says no AI, and that it is from the demo. Well I'm not sure about that, but it sounds like something from the demo tape that I found on YouTube. I like the bass on this one. How about you?

Glitter - my wish for MC in 2026 (113,519) by TJ from Norway
That's just my subjective opinion, just as yours is also subjective. I was at the cinema watching it and believe me it was cringe to sit there with only two others. The reason was not bad marketing, but bad acting and horrible reviews because of that.

Mariah doesn't express emotions when acting. She can make a small part in a movie ok, but no more than that. She doesn't use her voice other than in a monotone way, her hands are divaish when acting, and her face expressions doesn't look natural. She should not continue in that direction. That's my opinion, and nothing more, but I express it here.

Happy easter.

I too love the album. I don't call it a soundtrack, because I'm in denial about the existence of that movie.

Glitter - my wish for MC in 2026 (113,514) by TJ from Norway
"And, yes, Webmaster, the acting in 'Glitter' is on par with 'The Bodyguard' and 'Mahogany'."

You can't compare the acting in Glitter to The Bodyguard. WH was clearly a better actress than Mariah. It was embarrassing to watch Glitter.

As we say in Norway: Your eyes are the first thing to go blind.

MTV Unplugged (113,421) by TJ from Norway
I believe that some of the post millennium fans don't appreciate that area because the music sounds dated to them. I too are so thankful for being able to experience that time and success. I guess it's how the fans of Taylor Swift have it today.

I remember taping all the shows, concerts and so on. Buying multiple singles because she released like a million versions of every hit.

She should release that album as fast as possible. There was some hype about it in media, but soon forgotten. We all know that she has messed up releases before.

Type Dangerous and why it failed (113,336) by TJ from Norway
I know you didn't ask me, but I don't think Mariah would reach that spot with any song from that album. It's almost impossible for an artist to get a number one after that many years in the business. Cher did, but she did something completely new when it happened.

That rare flower that is Mariah's voice (113,286) by TJ from Norway
To me, the viste notes haven't been nice to listen to lately. Drop them. I rather listen to her chest voice.

And Edward. How dare you? We all know that she hasn't fixed anything.

Nodules (113,229) by TJ from Norway
Sometimes I think that it could be drugs. WH did drugs and got this metallic voice, Dionne Warwick the same. Mariah got the metallic voice, but we don't know why. I doubt that it's the champagne. I know a lot of professional singers that drink, but got their voices intact.
