Gary (53,036) by NHYTG from nyc Hi Gary, welcome on this board, nice to have you here. Although you just posted here for the first time I already have to disagree with you. I don't think it's Mariah who has to accept that her voice is not as strong as it once was, I think it's the fans who have to do just that. I think Mariah is fully aware, see where she came from (Japan, Rockefeller or Jamaica) and see what she has delivered yesterday. I believe she has worked very hard not to give her fans another disappointment and she has satisfied most of us (including me) and most of the critics. I think partly lipsyncing and some pretaping is just part of this game, not only Mariah does it but Celine, Shania, Rihanna, Beyonce or Katy (to name a few) do exactly the same thing. I'd say for some of us it's time to just accept this, loosen up and try a bit more to enjoy what Mariah is giving us these days. (Thursday 7 May 2015; 22:56)

It didn't bother me at all when I saw that picture the first time, I think she looks curvy, not fat. Critisizing Mariah (52,608) by NHYTG from nyc About the issue of critisizing Mariah, some people don't get the picture here. Sure it's ok to discuss her music and it's only fair to be negative if she fails singing live or do some decent lip syncing. But is it really necessary to always judge the weight, the way she gives interviews, the clothes, the drinking problem she apparently has according to some fans, the way she raises her children (as if we know) to name a few things. Why already have a premature negative opinion about things that still have to happen, imo it's really silly to judge the Vegas concerts before there has even been one. Who are we to decide what kind of music she should be making or what producers she should work with? Shouldn't it be up to herself to make these choices? I think it's only fair to accept that Mariah is a 45 years old human being with human shortcomings and insecurities, that her voice is not as strong as it once was and that she is making (and loving) the kind of music that happens to be less popular these days. Maybe time for them to pick another favourite artist and let Mariah do what she does best in her own way? Let's not forget where she came from recently: Japan, Rockefeller and Jamaica have given her the worst press ever. People need to know that the voice is still there, she should sing Infinity live in some talkshows to regain credability. Maybe a great performance at the Billboard Music Awards? Infinity (52,418) by NHYTG from nyc The ultimate break-up anthem, I think many people can relate to Infinity. Playing it over and over, loving it more and more. I'm a bit surprised by the negative reactions because this is just the kind of song you can expect from Mariah, it's so much her own style. I still applaud her for staying close to herself and not desperately trying to chase chart-success with music that she doesn't relate to. Nice to see Infinity at #17 here in The Netherlands.
