In Your Feelings and "stuff" (112,914)
by Bobby A from United States

It is really difficult to tell what MC is saying during that particular verse especially with the word "stuff" at the end. I guess radio programmers don't want any FCC complaints from listeners complaining that MC is saying the other four letter word.

In Your Feelings and "stuff" (112,899)
by Haiji from United States

Hello everyone. Happy holidays. So I've been hearing IYF on the radio on multiple occasions since a little before Christmas, but my question is about the radio version, if anyone has heard it yet. Why is the word "stuff" bleeped out, from the line "Now I feel stupid and stuff"? Am I missing something? Does that word have an alternate explicit meaning nowadays?

But you have to admit that the stuff some people pull out of their behinds, as ridiculous as it might sound, can be entertaining in times like these. I'm having a blast. I'm waiting for the reveal that the New Year's fiasco was just Tommy hitting mute from a control room.

Yeah, it's your default to only correct the most insignificant technicalities. It's fair to bring up and I appreciate being corrected too, but at the very least acknowledge the broader points, otherwise you're inevitably going to come across as obnoxious. TJ did a great job by raising something he felt was slightly inaccurate while also adding depth and genuinely enriching the topic.

Haha. I have been tracking my likes this year and they are down like 55% compared to 2024. What would you all do without my predictions and wishful thinking. I did think this week what if Gregory Porter, Robert Glasper and PJ Morton collaborated with MC in 2026 for something different for MC17?

IYF vs NII (112,776)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Lambi, you may be right. The main theme for the ceremony is "Harmony" (Armonia). MC might be writing a brand new song with DJ Snake. She probably wants her performance to appeal more on a global stage through a new song with DJ Snake. The melody and instrumentation of Let Me Love You comes to my mind.

IYF vs NII (112,775)
by Lambi from USA
| |
|
|
She may use parts of NII that are appropriate specifically, "The spirit lives in my soul, so I'll never let go, I knew deep down inside that I can fly" but the rest of the song feels too personal. It would likely be a medley of Hero, Make It Happen, and NII. Or she may simply write a brand-new song specifically for this Olympics, like she did for the 2010 Winter Olympics with 100%, since writing inspirational, motivational songs comes naturally to MC. I really love 100%, though, and I hope she considers including that one.

I'd rather see this promoted, T. For those who didn't listen to me the first three hundred times I told this story, I had a visceral, emotional response to the song and the way she chose to sing it low. It's wonderful for the Olympics and I hope the public tik tok's it, it goes viral and becomes a number one. I have a Right To Dream.

Mariah also becomes the artist with the most cumulative weeks at #1 in Hot 100 history, 100 weeks total, with the closest competitor still 40 weeks behind. Decades later and still making history. Come on Mariah and Gamma, take advantage of that and release Nothing Is Impossible. That song is perfect for that. Relase a high budget music video. Perform that song everywhere on tv like 2005 with We Belong Together. Bring back the glory of a 90's ballad like Vision of Love, My All with that song. Bye.

The demo tape (112,702)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|

Yes and no. So, Mariah had her original demo tape (the one Tommy got his hands on at the party), that she put together pre-fame. For the longest time, the songs contained on it were Alone In Love, All In Your Mind, Someday, Vanishing and Do You Ever Wonder. That was according to "Her Story". This tape however seems to have another song (unreleased). That may well be Hypnotized, or another song entirely.
When Mariah was signed to CBS (as it was back then), the process of putting an album together involves the artist producing several songs in demo format. These are presented to the executives who then "green light" the selection to go into recording/production, or go back to be revised and changed, or the direction changed etc.
It may be that the demo Mariah referenced was the beta version of what would end up being her debut album. I guess we won't really ever know for certain. It just drives me mad that there are things like this out there that will likely forever remain a mystery.

I love it so much but I can't listen to it anymore cause her voice sounds bad. Music Box and Daydream Mariah would cringe if they heard that. Overall I still enjoy HFIA just wish it had at least one hit. In my opinion if MOAIA Mariah was singing "In your feelings" it would be more enjoyable and a potential hit. The lyrics and production is there it's just the fans are not. I think there's a lot of remaining fans who don't care if she has any more hits but for me I'd like her to at least tie The Beatles' record. It's time for Mariah to write with Bruno and give us the collaboration some of us have wanted for years.

If Sony markets it right with a network TV special, interviews, one single release, magazine features, clothing, and jewelry, then SUD could be a huge success. The second half is from July to December. Therefore, I bet Sony is planning a Black Friday release in 2026. The Lamb frenzy would be crazy at local record shops around the country.

2026 Plans for Here For It All? (112,612)
by Edward from USA
| |
|
|
Bobby A, sadly there's probably not going to be an "HFIA" Deluxe Edition. Outside of her hardcore fans, nobody seem to care about the album. Mariah and Gamma aren't about to keep throwing money at something that isn't giving anything back. At the end of the day, Gamma is a business. It was a joint version, and both parties did what they could. You wouldn't keep pouring water into a bottomless barrel expecting it to get full, would you?
And the whole "Mariah's Christmas popularity is fading" thing? Not really. The economy is just trash right now. Everything is expensive, people are losing jobs, and most folks are just trying to survive the holidays, not spend on unnecessary things like flights and concert tickets. Competition is tough in Vegas when Mariah doesn't bring anything new to her shows.
Even with all that, Mariah's still doing her thing. Bublé's Christmas is 14 years old, Merry Christmas is 31 years old, and the fact that her album is back up at #14 (and looking to jump into the top 10 next week) is wild. That's not someone "declining", that's someone with ridiculous staying power.
I don't think she should've moved her Christmas show to Vegas. It kinda took away that warm, cozy, classic Mariah holiday vibe. It worked better when it was more intimate and easier for fans to get to. She reigned supreme at Beacon Theater for a decade and she also did great at MSG. Both venues were a train away for most people.
