Mariah's already given us some iconic songs that dealt with her trauma from that marriage, "Side Effects" being the most powerful and raw in my opinion. At this point, still throwing shade at Tommy feels unnecessary. She already went through her metamorphosis with "Butterfly", and found a renewed IDGAF freedom with TEOM. Lyrics that hint at Tanaka or Nick make more sense, they reflect more recent chapters in her life. But revisiting Tommy, decades later, feels a bit tired. She's 56, he's 76, it's time to "Shake It Off". Or who knows, maybe she's just waiting for Tommy to clock out permanently so she can drop a song called "Dirty Coffin", reminiscing about how "important" his presence was in launching her career. TD press tour (109,144) by Shezz from Pk I noticed yesterday watching some radio interview clips - her energy and enthusiasm varies quite a bit depending on the interviewer. She was very animated and enthusiastic for a couple and totally disinterested in the others. If she knows you, has a history with you and you know about her music and black culture, she will be way more relaxed and open. Just an observation, to most of the white interviewers she was a little cold and reserved. Maybe it was just a coincidence that she was not too familiar with them. Anyone else noticed this? I mean I don't blame her - not everyone can fake enthusiasm for small talk with strangers, but if you're out there promoting your music, wanting them to play your songs, you have to present a friendly front. She looked alive and genuinely happy to be there and so grateful and proud. Almost shed a tear seeing that after so long. And she sang along to the song without looking at any monitors. I'd love a remix for the song. It's crying for another 30 second verse from Doecii. Apparently the fancy car company (that she shot the cover in) whose name I can't remember posted about something coming soon with her. I'm hoping that's for the music video. Knowing Mariah she's collaborated with them. Also, so so happy to read about the new label. They will go all out to support her and she won't pull out of her project midway through like she has previously because of these label issues. And I am happy that LA Reid is also officially guiding MC16. She's taken her time but she's doing it right. May she get the success and respect she deserves. Proud to be a lamb. I have written down several things different about the start of this era. This is not GTFO or I Don't. Something feels different about Type Dangerous to start the new era. 1. MC took her time releasing new music despite pressure from Lambs for 4 years. 2. Anderson .Paak inspired MC in the studio. 3. For the first time ever, MC used a previous album to launch a new album. She was so clever with her date hint that we missed that a new era would be starting on that date. Genius MC. 4. MC took control of launching her new era instead of her new label. We found out three days later that gamma. is her new label from Lambs posting presaving Type Dangerous screenshots. I suspect a gamma. official annoucement will come tomorrow. 5. MC stepped out of her comfort zone for this era by working with new producers, songwriters, artists, and mending an old relationship with Walter A. This era doesn't feel like JD will be involved, but I wouldn't be mad if he had a couple of songs on MC16. However, I don't think we will hear "Y'all know what this is" on MC16. 6. MC16 (109,019) by Shezz from Pk 100% agreed Edward. It's so good to see all the lambs excited again for something big. This month we're going to have 2 exciting days. First on the 6th for the all weather lambs with T:D which obviously will be an uptempo banger - most probably with A. .Paak's production and writing (Bobby A is that official?) and secondly a Walter A. produced ballad for the old school lambs on the 27th. June is going to be good. It will be interesting to see which of the 2 the lambs and the general public respond more to. I've gotta say she has taken her time but planned this well. MC16 wish list (109,005) by Randy from USA Well, I know it ain't gonna happen but since I have a little extra time. I'd like an Adele-like album. No rap. No r&b. No vocal layering. No wall of background singers. Just her and piano or her and guitar. Some love songs mixed in with some hope songs mixed in with some introspective songs. Imagine a quiet album with songs as stripped down as Languishing, Close My Eyes, My All, With You, Camouflage, Vanishing, Music Box, Looking In, Reflections, Petals, Cry, Portrait. And for the voice. Maybe keep it down to what can be replicated live even if the venue is too cold, too hot, missing an umbrella holder, short circuits ear monitors, has no running water for humidifiers, only let you in with less than 7 hours sleep.
