Since LA Reid is executive producing the new album Here For It All, I wonder why he didn't call in his former clients like Usher, Pink [sic] or Andre 3000 to lend some features that could've maybe got people excited.

Could Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis be seen as number 4? The two producers brought out some gorgeous melodies from MC on Glitter, Charmbracelet, and Rainbow. The dynamic duo would have been producers on TEOM if they didn't have prior commitments. They sent Big Jim Wright as their replacement.

It's because all the classics, and hits she's ever made has come down to working with three producers; Walter A, Jermaine Dupri, and Tricky Stewart (to a lesser degree). So you know when her and JD get together you get some good music.

With just a few days left for the VMAs Vanguard performance, what songs does everybody think should be on her performance list to best set her up for the HFIA era?
I suppose Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet will definitely be there, what else should she use to fill up the 10 minute slot?

The 5 chosen Tommy producers (110,865)
by Bobby A from United States

I just found a Barry Mann Brown Eyed Woman 45 record today. The song is very souful like Can You Hear Me? Finding his record made me think about the five chosen producers for MC's first two albums. Tommy chose Rhett Lawrence, Narada Michael Walden, Ric Wake, Barry Mann, and Carole King. Why didn't he choose David Foster to collaborate with MC? I wonder what a Mariah Carey and David Foster collaboration would have sounded like in 1990-1992.

I have noticed that too. It's like we all knew 2025 would be the start of a new era. Bill, Dove, Lighty from China and Libra Lamb are back. We welcomed this year Giovanni, Lambi, and Baby from Dreamville. T is posting more this year. Randy came out of hibernation. Stacey makes me laugh. Terna and Shezz are great analysts. Mimi is our Tamron Hall with her great insight and commentary. Zachariah is my best friend now. Edward looks for my Saturday post to refute my claims. Lol. I don't want the number #1 slot at the end of the year. I want another board member to be #1. We are all family in the land of Mariah Carey.

I believe MC could do it with Debbie Allen (choreography), L.A.Reid (setlist), JD (guest list), DJ Mustard (remixes and samples), Daniel Moore (musical direction), and Brett Ratner (director) partnering with MC to deliver a spectacular half-time show. I guess we will know on a smaller scale at the MTV Video Awards what MC can do vocally and performance wise. The world will be watching and on social media during and after her performance.

Ya no Superbowl for Mariah. Her perfect opportunity would have been during TEOM era when she was feeling herself and on fire. Wait, imagine Mariah actually booked Super Bowl in '96 when she still refused to lip sync. My goodness, she would've slept for 72 hours and completely crush it. Imagine the vocal prowess? This is hypothetical by the way, it wouldn't be realistic since she was still way too new to get this gig, but just for fun. With the hits she had at the time. What should be on her Super Bowl set list?

One long month (110,825)
by Bobby A from United States

I noticed that Amazon started giving after album release shipping dates for about two years now to keep shipping arrival complaints to a minimal. The CD's are coming from the U.S. Our postal system is so unpredictable right now since our postal system started a new process of sending mail to regional distribution procesing centers in major cities. It is there packages are sorted and mailed out to its destination. I know this because I spent way too much time holding on the USPS customer service line and this the answer I received about my Ebay package being late. You will probably receive your package on the release date or a day or two after the 26th.

Shezz, this is great news. Surely, some JD remixes and new songs are on the way. MC's surprise studio picture looks like JD's So So Def studio. I really feel now that no more singles will be released until after the album drops. I am saying this because the way MC revealed the tracklist in such a social media strategy way to build anticipation with the song titles and lyric two liners. I believe Gamma wants multiple songs to "album bomb" on the Hot 100 like Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem did in May. It will probably happen with Mi, Play This Song, Confetti and Champagne, I Won't Allow It, My Love, Jesus Do It, Here For It All, and In My Feelings. People are talking about these songs the most in social media comments. I believe it will happen for her HFIA. 2010 is when streaming numbers were allowed in the calculation equation for the Hot 100.

Bobby A. rumor has it she's adding songs for the deluxe version with some remixes possibly including a Sza collaboration based on the love she's been showing MC on social media with heavy hints.
I wish a Sza collaboration could've made the original album. Better late than never but I just hope it's not dropped if HFIA doesn't perform as well as she wanted it to initially.

TEOM vs TEOM (110,796)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I just figured this out. The Emancipation of Mimi album title has the same letters as The Era Of Mi. MC doesn't name her albums without some meaning behind it and she has never named her own era. We usually name her eras for her. MC has never had an album title/era with two different titles. What personal statement or meaning is MC trying to emphasize? Could MC be sending a message to Taylor Swift or the Swifties that a new era has started.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. Why would they release "Sugar Sweet" as her second single and not send it to radio? Of course it was sent. The truth is, "Sugar Sweet" just didn't gain much traction. Not releasing a video was actually a smart move from a business standpoint.
