Industry problems vs. waning radio airplay (107,362)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
MC is in the same club as other R&B artists like Brandy, Eric Benet, Trey Songz, Keyshia Cole, Monica, Toni Braxton, and Robin Thicke. They all have not released an album since their last albums were not huge sellers and with waning radio airplay. So is it a music industry problem for older R&B artists or radio programmers just don't cater to older R&B artists anymore? All eight artists could release an album today and it would be better than what Urban AC radio is playing on the radio today by these new young artists.

When the author started throwing out all of those dollar amounts and talking about MC taking out mortagages on her Tribeca home, I knew the article was nothing but lies.

I wouldn't believe anything from the NY Post. It is owned by the same people who owns Fox News and the National Enquirer. Besides, she's stil the best selling female artist in American history. I never had no issue with her diva persona when rappers are given passes for being jerks.

Memoirs album thoughts 15 years later (107,354)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
Memoirs of An Imperfect Angel has to be MC's best album title for being creative and making the music buyer want to listen to the album's 17 tracks. The album cover is just gorgeous. Also, too bad Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis didn't have tracks 18-20 on the album. Their addition would have definitely increased sales and airplay.

Anyone who has lost a family member knows the different feelings you can experience. While I miss my dad immensely I can't help but feel peace he's free from all the mental and physical illnesses he dealt with on Earth. Maybe in some ways this will free MC from that strain she often felt with her mom and sister. I hope she finds that peace one day.

I knew it wasn't going to mean much of anything. I was just surprised someone posted a video of the Atlanta concert. I just always hear Atlanta music artists singing and rapping about Bankhead Highway. Lol. I do miss Atlanta for the music and culture.

Angels Advocate tour (107,329)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
That's right Libra. I forgot about that. MC kept us waiting a long time as I remember now. They started playing R&B songs and everybody was just waiting or leaving their seats getting drinks. Then 30 minutes later the band started playing the opening song and MC's voice came on and then it was on. It has always been my best concert ever. The show was suppose to start at 7pm . I We didn't leave until a little before 10pm I think. You won't experience a great R&B concert unless it is in Atlanta. Sometimes I miss living there because of just being able to experience all of the artists who always have a stop in Atlanta.

I love it too. I also like the original song. A great sample for a Mariah song. It has this good summer vibe. The three Mariah's were cool. Almost all Glitter songs are underrated. The album is like a musical surprise bag.

That is the only tour that I have experienced. It was in Atlanta and her vocals were on point. There were no backing tracks. The crowd went crazy with every song. After the concert, we got to see MC walk out from back of the Fox Theatre onto a Peachtree Street side street and get into the limousine. It was something being that close to MC. I will never forget it.

Help with my MC ballads playlist (107,312)

Thank you Terna. I love it. Never Too Far is a better closing song. I heard MC and a male voice talking throughout Angels Prelude for the first time. I love that you chose to Camouflage after Angels Prelude. It's like the two songs were written at the same time. Why did you choose Yours as the opening song?

I need some help sequencing the tracks so that the songs flow seamlessly together. Here is my tracklisting. Let me know which tracks need to be moved around.
1. Circles 2. Yours 3. H.A.T.E.U. 4. For The Record 5. Mine Again 6. I Wish You Knew 7. Want You 8. Cry. 9. Lead The Way 10. It's A Wrap 11. Never Too Far 12. Cool On You 13. Angel The Prelude 14. Muni Long's Revenge (107,292)
by Robert-Anthony from United States
| |
|
|
Muni Long's Revenge is the R&B album of the year. Check it out. My favorites are Make Me Forget, Made For Me, Type Questions, Bestie, and Waste No Time. Two of my favorite producers helped Muni Long craft a brillant masterpiece. Tricky Stewart handled production and sequencing the tracklisting. Kuk Kurrell produced Muni's vocals. I wouldn't mind if all three help MC craft her next masterpiece. I have always loved Tricky's and Kuk's production style. I am just waiting for MC to release something in 2025.

Mariah's mom and sister died on the same day (107,287)
by Robert-Anthony from United States

I thought the same thing. She was very emotional during Make It Happen. MIH has always been one of her songs that has held a special place in her heart. I went back and watched this today (at 17:45) and it made think Patricia was always proud of MC. It made me cry when MC put her head on her mother. Also, it made think how I tried to make my mother proud of me, but she could not love me completely without thinking about how my existence on this earth was not in her plans as a 23 year old woman in 1970s.

Guys, how do you think these deaths will affect her? Will she soften the diva behavior, realize that she has lost a part of her family, will she get the inspiration to write all her feelings in a song or an album and release it one day. How do you think this will mold her as a person? I am sure we all deal with loss differently. When my brother died in an accident at work 12 years ago, I was bitter, mad, unpleasant, cold, distant. I had to work hard to pass that and still I am not done. Thoughts?

Wow. this is heartbreaking for Mariah. I'm glad she was able to spend the last week with Patricia, but it breaks my heart that it doesn't seem like she was able to mend or be at peace with either Alison or Patricia in the truest sense. Mariah has been open about mending her relationship with her dad before he passed, I hope there was some healing for the three of them before they passed. I also pray that her and Morgan can support each other and find common ground now that they are the only two left of five. So sad.
