About Bobby A from United States:
I have been a Lamb since 1990. I know Mariah. I love her music. I breathe her music.

Are you saying at this point in MC's career that she should be thanking Tommy in her songs for her successful career? I bet he has never personally apologized to MC face to face. That would help her to heal.

I agree. Mariah's already given us some iconic songs that dealt with her trauma from that marriage, "Side Effects" being the most powerful and raw in my opinion. At this point, still throwing shade at Tommy feels unnecessary. She already went through her metamorphosis with "Butterfly", and found a renewed IDGAF freedom with TEOM.
Lyrics that hint at Tanaka or Nick make more sense, they reflect more recent chapters in her life. But revisiting Tommy, decades later, feels a bit tired. She's 56, he's 76, it's time to "Shake It Off".
Or who knows, maybe she's just waiting for Tommy to clock out permanently so she can drop a song called "Dirty Coffin", reminiscing about how "important" his presence was in launching her career. Poetic closure, right?

I don't hear Levitating. The flow of verses are the same though. I am sitting here thinking what sample MC can use for the remix. Just like Shezz, I hear Doechi on the remix. She would fit perfectly on the remix.

Tommy was probably mad when he heard he was mentioned yet again. He still doesn't realize how his lockdown treatment affected MC in their marriage. Trauma is not easy to forget or let go. The lyrics are hilarious and he should be laughing now. MC said she was just playing for Tommy.

I noticed yesterday watching some radio interview clips - her energy and enthusiasm varies quite a bit depending on the interviewer. She was very animated and enthusiastic for a couple and totally disinterested in the others. If she knows you, has a history with you and you know about her music and black culture, she will be way more relaxed and open. Just an observation, to most of the white interviewers she was a little cold and reserved. Maybe it was just a coincidence that she was not too familiar with them. Anyone else noticed this?
I mean I don't blame her - not everyone can fake enthusiasm for small talk with strangers, but if you're out there promoting your music, wanting them to play your songs, you have to present a friendly front. Or don't go to the ones you don't feel warmly about.

Here are a few new info we have: - The album is almost done - There will be collabs (please Lord some A list ones) - There's a "very good" duet with A .Paak - She is currently sequencing the track list - LA Reid asked to record one more song (deja vu TEOM) - There are visuals (Type Dangerous MV) - TD will be directed by Joseph Kahn. I hope they use his full potential. Joseph did some incredible work with Taylor.

Did anyone notice how she was gleaming and beaming at the radio launch event? She looked alive and genuinely happy to be there and so grateful and proud. Almost shed a tear seeing that after so long. And she sang along to the song without looking at any monitors.
I'd love a remix for the song. It's crying for another 30 second verse from Doecii.
Apparently the fancy car company (that she shot the cover in) whose name I can't remember posted about something coming soon with her. I'm hoping that's for the music video. Knowing Mariah she's collaborated with them.
Also, so so happy to read about the new label. They will go all out to support her and she won't pull out of her project midway through like she has previously because of these label issues. And I am happy that LA Reid is also officially guiding MC16.
She's taken her time but she's doing it right. May she get the success and respect she deserves. Proud to be a lamb.

Mariah alerts (109,061)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
Mariah's promo team has been on fire right now with building the anticipation. They just posted a cryptic tweet with a bunch of emojis sayings giving you something to work on for the next 6 hours (until the single drops). The sequence of emoji is red heels, a pencil/paper, 3 women, bubble, soap, diamond, a diamond ring, a question mark and 2 exclamation marks. What does it mean?
The emojis possibly refer to this line. These lyrics along with some others have leaked. Also the song is apparently Migrate meets Caution vibes.
Taking off my coat Clearing my throat Certified diamonds like the songs I wrote Hit the little girls room to powder my nose
You know the guy say he work construction Turns out he was moving them pounds and customs
"I don't have time for the rigmarole"

Lambs have been crazy all day on X. I haven't seen Lambs this hyped since ILT and TEOM dropped 20 years ago. I have written down several things different about the start of this era. This is not GTFO or I Don't. Something feels different about Type Dangerous to start the new era.
1. MC took her time releasing new music despite pressure from Lambs for 4 years. 2. Anderson .Paak inspired MC in the studio. 3. For the first time ever, MC used a previous album to launch a new album. She was so clever with her date hint that we missed that a new era would be starting on that date. Genius MC. 4. MC took control of launching her new era instead of her new label. We found out three days later that gamma. is her new label from Lambs posting presaving Type Dangerous screenshots. I suspect a gamma. official annoucement will come tomorrow. 5. MC stepped out of her comfort zone for this era by working with new producers, songwriters, artists, and mending an old relationship with Walter A. This era doesn't feel like JD will be involved, but I wouldn't be mad if he had a couple of songs on MC16. However, I don't think we will hear "Y'all know what this is" on MC16. 6. This will be MC's first summer album release since her debut album. Just another reminder of a full circle era is starting tomorrow.

Hahaha we need to keep Mariah's anxiety low because we know if she thinks something will tank she's abandon and never speak of it again. At this point I want any new music from her good or bad. I think it'll be good because according to reports she scrapped a lot of ideas and started new. I think at this point if she wasn't confident in her album she would just not release anything at all because what does she have to lose. I'm excited I hope the music video is ready to drop with the single and doesn't have a significant delay. I hope we get more news on the album and it has some fresh collaborations. What an exciting time for us.

Why does time go slower when we're waiting for new Mariah music? Not long to go now but feels like forever. Looking forward to hearing it fully for the first time and also hearing everyone's take on it tomorrow. Mariah is really treating us this past month with a mini anniversary release, now an unexpected MC16 and also a Walter produced song, I can't believe I actually just wrote a Walter produced song after all this time. I hope if they met again they were able to bury any past issues and move forward as life is too short.

Thank you, darling - I truly appreciate your response. I do try to stay aware of what's happening. I'm not trying to sound like a conspiracy theorist, but I genuinely believe Morgan is a plant, and we should be cautious. He's shown time and again that he'll do just about anything for a quick payout.
Mariah is at a stage in her career where her success is not only undeniable - it's powerful. She confirmed a couple of years ago that she owns all of her masters: 86 singles and 15 studio albums, dating back to 1990. That level of ownership is incredibly rare, especially for someone who's not just the voice, but also the writer and producer. She's earning real revenue from her catalog, and that kind of power makes her a threat to certain people.
We've seen a similar pattern before. When Michael Jackson began acquiring ownership of his music - and even the rights to other artists' catalogs - it triggered serious pushback from powerful forces. It wasn't subtle, and it wasn't fair. I wouldn't be surprised if Mariah ends up facing similar tactics. It's something we should all be paying close attention to.

100% agreed Edward. It's so good to see all the lambs excited again for something big. This month we're going to have 2 exciting days. First on the 6th for the all weather lambs with T:D which obviously will be an uptempo banger - most probably with A. .Paak's production and writing (Bobby A is that official?) and secondly a Walter A. produced ballad for the old school lambs on the 27th. June is going to be good. It will be interesting to see which of the 2 the lambs and the general public respond more to. I've gotta say she has taken her time but planned this well. Releasing the new single right after reminding everyone of and celebrating TEOM was a smart move.

Randy, I believe MC got our memo after seven years. Lol. I really feel MC16 is going to be a perfect match of great vocals and tracks to go with MC's current voice. Well, I know it ain't gonna happen but since I have a little extra time. I'd like an Adele-like album. No rap. No r&b. No vocal layering. No wall of background singers. Just her and piano or her and guitar. Some love songs mixed in with some hope songs mixed in with some introspective songs. Imagine a quiet album with songs as stripped down as Languishing, Close My Eyes, My All, With You, Camouflage, Vanishing, Music Box, Looking In, Reflections, Petals, Cry, Portrait. And for the voice. Maybe keep it down to what can be replicated live even if the venue is too cold, too hot, missing an umbrella holder, short circuits ear monitors, has no running water for humidifiers, only let you in with less than 7 hours sleep. And only use the whistle twice. Yeah, that would be a dope album.
