About Andrew from the United Kingdom: Banned forever!

Re: Mariah's age (97,734) (97,735) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Were the article to have revealed that Mariah was, in fact, born in 1970 people would have surely rejoiced in that information. That the article revealed another untruth about Mariah's life/career predictably leads to attacks on anyone interested in the information. Ad hominem attacks are the refuge of people who simply don't like truths that don't fit with their bubble-wrapped sensitivities.

I like Mariah Carey, I love her voice, I am addicted to most of her catalogue. But more than that I have always despised people lying because it is denying me of a true understanding of the world, and the events in it, to suit their own pathology. I try always to tell the truth - or, at least, I try to not ever lie.

I'm not rejoicing that we now know the proclaimed birth year is not true, I'm simply glad that I know the truth. If she had revealed it earlier we may have been spared the "eternally 12" and "anniversary" bullshit which, be it your kinda camp schtick or not, is certainly not something I ever found entertaining. Each to their own.

Re: Mariah's "real birthdate" (97,722) (97,724) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
The link to the Irish Examiner comes up blank for me. I am, of course, being tongue-in-cheek about writing new books. I do not want them to write a new book. Has anyone read "Mariah and Me"? What's in it?

Re: Mariah's "real birthdate" (97,719) (97,721) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Well now that we know that Mariah's age is another... "untruth", were I either of Mariah's siblings I would be making that a chapter in my new book "The Deceiving of Mariah Carey".

One wonders why they aren't simply writing their own tell-all book right now. If the onus isn't on the writer to disprove the accusation, they could have a field day. Why, I'd even track down the officers who attended the house during Slipperyplategate.

Will it ever ey-end? (97,709) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Here we go around again and what to say? I wish I understood? Wonder why you even try? Wish you'd changed your mind? The beginning, middle and end of that was iffy?

Re: Recounting the first bought album experience (97,673) (97,708) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
My first album was on cassette and it was Music Box, also. I remember feeling very annoyed that the paper was of such low quality that I could see lyrics through Mariah's face. I was also quite amazed, when I opened it up, that the bigger picture was so much better than the close up of her facial features. The cover has no identity.

I think Music Box for its 30th anniversary (which should be a big event as it's her best selling record) should get a different album cover, and have the Proctor's Theatre live show as a second CD. And the in-depth collectors booklet should have decent quality paper.

Happy 52nd Birthday, Mariah Carey (97,707) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Hands up if you think that Mariah was born in 1969 and the "Anniversary of her 12th birthday" schtick is simply because she gets to avoid the lie.

Re: Someone make a list (97,654) (97,655) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Nary a moment passed since I questioned a lamb's conviction that Mariah would do something new with her sound and looky here, it's posted that Mariah is in the studio with Y'all Know Who This Isn't. Lambs of the world, rejoice. Thy saviour has come. And this time he promises he has learned to pronounce some more consonants.

I am now #teamJohn. But I would say that I tried many years ago to get people to speak the truth to Mariah, but the board is largely comprised of Hard Left ideologues that believe if they don't like what someone says, that person should be silenced. Half of what I post doesn't get past the Dutchman. Imagine if it did. There'd be carnage.

When Mariah next comes to the UK I am happy to do a meet and greet for the Lambs. I won't even charge £500 for the privilege and you can have a photo for free. It won't be hard to spot me: I'm the blond guy who is singing and shouting the loudest and dancing like I think everyone is watching.

I know you like to state your hopes as facts but search inside yourself: do you *really* think Mariah’s new album will be step in a different direction? Really, honestly, hand-on-your-heart believe that Mariah’s new album won’t be Cautionx2? C=MC2?

Re: Someone make a list (97,637) (97,643) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Well following Randy's lead perhaps and after talking about it some with Jade, I have decided that Mariah's next album needs a o be something I need, something different, something akin to her previous visions for her careers, or I'm off. And I do mean that sincerely because I rarely, if ever, lie.

I will always listen to Mariah Carey's music - I listened to the whole of The Rarities and half of Rainbow today in between the rugby matches.

But if there is more of the same lazy, boring shit bookended by Christmas money/making, I'm off.

I hope she comes through. But I think we all know in our heart of hearts, she won't.

Re: Defamation (97,641) (97,642) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
"Andrew, thank you for validating my opinion that you are largely ignorant as to US Law and the relevant cases."

You're welcome. However, you had that opinion beforehand and now I have validated it? I'm touched you think of me so often and so fondly.

"It takes a big person to admit they do not know what they speak of."

It takes a small one to capitalise on a lack of knowledge to which somebody else has already admitted and for which they have asked for assistance. I don't Google law. I could do; I could have done. But I did do a law degree. Yet, do you and take what you need, darling.

Also, don't end a sentence on a preposition if you're intentionally acting like an [censored]. Makes it kinda difficult to pull off your inferred superiority in the realm of law and letters.

"It is not my job to educate you in all the ways this, in my opinion, was clear in many of your statement before you admitted it, but rest assured in my opinion your stated "knowledge" of the proofs and, importantly, the burdens, gave away the game."

To reiterate, if you're going to act like the Grandmaster [censored], do use the correct syntax and do also make sure that your sentences even make sense, lol. Again, take what you need and run with it. The easy wins are fun.

"Let's give you a chance to redeem yourself."

I am certain my intellect is not in need of redemption.

"I give you credit for admitting your ignorance of US law."

Well, having admitted I didn't study it, I am exactly where I was before. You, on the other hand, have come off a bit badly here. Not exactly a "win", per se, but take what you need.

Easy wins, eh

"'White' people, however, are a pan-European gang who have invaded parts of the world where they do not belong and have engaged in damaging relationships with other human beings and the environment. 'White' does not deserve respect."

You can dress up your racism in pseudo-intellectual nonsense all you like - you're just disgusting. I laughed at you for a short while. But actually you just made me feel terribly, terribly sad for you, sweetheart.

Re: Defamation (97,620) (97,621) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
You'd be right if you were specifying that my law degree is in English and Welsh Law. But the United States Law is common law and I did read some of it. In any case defamation is a pretty simple concept: a false and/or malicious statement designed to bring damage to someone's reputation through either written or verbal communication (thus, libel or slander). Having read Law for many years, I am pretty careful with what I write.

I am interested to hear which part of defamation as pertaining to the United States I do not understand. I do treat most people as persons who have something to teach me. With exceptions made for obvious foolish here. So go for it.

It is interesting that those that libel me won't give me their details to allow my solicitor to argue it with them in court. Foolish people should think before they type.

Re: Defamation (97,604) (97,608) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
I question everybody's recounting of a story for which there is no evidence. On the face of things, all things being equal, you might accept it and move on. However, for a moment consider the co-op board not wanting Black people in the building. Now, you and I, as long-time fans, will have read that she was turned down for purchasing Barbra's apartment many times over in the last two decades. I never, ever once read it was because of race. It's new. The claim is brand new. In a book full or really dubious storytelling. The story is white-people-bad.

Take Mariah's mother apparently calling the police when Mariah decided she had to wash up mid-argument with plates that were soapy unfortunately slipping out of her hand successively. It is alleged that Mariah's racist mother called the police not out of fear but rather smirking in the knowledge that the police would see a poor white woman suffering at the hands of Black people. So the white police rock up (Pat really lucked in there) and do not see the biggest female star of the time, they see a non-white woman. And arrest her out of racism. Obviously misreading how soapy plates can get, especially when you're mid-argument.

I question Mariah's claim that she was an innocent child when it never ever seemed that way before. What does she say on The Rarities? She wore lingerie singing on a piano at thirteen? Out of her own choice? Wow. Girl interrupted.

There is enormous evidence to suggest Mariah doesn't like white people. She gets upset that she is outdone by a white person on a stage and makes claims that the woman should have respected Black culture. How Divas Live became about race and not Mariah's voice being not up to par is rather depressing.

A memoir differs from an autobiography in that it is not, latterly, a recount of a lifetime, it a selection of events to tell a story. It still requires some evidentiary support where accusations are made. There is no free-for-all because you decide something is "your truth".

Can anyone honestly say they think Mariah is pro-Black then and have that mutually exclusive of being anti-white? Reverse that. If someone is pro-white, it doesn't mean they are anti-Black? I'm happy for people to debate arguments. But screaming stupidity at the top of their lungs does not an argument make. It is simply an excuse to have debate shut down because it is not liked. I exclude you from that, as you're always very fair and open-minded and so rather enjoy your viewpoints, even if I do not enjoy how you describe what you are seeing.

To my original point, way back when, I think Mariah should not have written this book. It is a spurious and salacious retelling of events, leaping into a bandwagon of current political strife, that has done absolutely nobody any good.

Re: Defamation (97,598) (97,600) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
There isn't a "her truth" or a "his truth" there is only *the* truth. Too often now people talk about their supposed own truths as if these claims cannot be questioned. All claims actually can be queried and lack of evidence means that those claims are highly spurious and should not be relied upon.

Re: Bey gets her 28th Grammy (97,587) (97,589) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
We are linked. I was watching a guy on YouTube react to Mariah singing the US national anthem and genuinely thought she pulled it off until the last moment where she missed the beat. And about five minutes later I read your post. It was a freaky moment.

In re: Beyoncé: I can only name about five of her solo songs. I don't see the appeal in her as an artist. Her songs are forgetful. I could not name one song from Lemonade and the only reason I remember she had an album called Lemonade is because I remember Adele fawning over it when accepting the Record of the Year Grammy for 25. Beyoncé takes herself extremely seriously. Everything she does seems to end with a hand in the hip and a side look as if people should crumble in the presence. When she sang in front of reporters to prove she could sing live and finished it with: "Any questions?" I admired her confidence. I only wish one of the reporters had said: "Yes, why are you over-rated?"

Speaking of people who take themselves too seriously, you mentioned Christina Aguilera who must surely hold the title. In any single album launch Christina talks about it as if it is her personal diary and no, really is it this one, not the last one, that was personal but this is Per. So. Nal. I am sure everyone right now can hear her interviews in her Valley Girl voice: "I think this record really shows who I am as an artist... the most personal record I've ever made... really speaks about who I am inside... shows my fans a part of me they haven't seen before..." and so on and so forth. And every time she goes for a belt she crunches over in what looks like preparation for a tandem vomit and shit. She should one day follow through, then we really would get to see who she is on the inside.

Defamation (97,588) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Hardly surprising that Mariah's brother is suing her for defamation alongside her sister. She made a lot of unfounded allegations in the book. I would be surprised if her mother sued her for calling her a racist because a mother would probably never sue her daughter. I would be very surprised if other people did not sue her, however, including the co-app board of the building where Barbra Streisand was selling the apartment Mariah wanted to buy. They "didn't want black men" in the building, ie. rappers Mariah knew. So either they are racist for which Mariah should have evidence, or if there is no evidence, Mariah is the racist. In fact, there's a hell of lot of unfounded claims in that book and many things to show that Mariah is at worst racist or at best really doesn't like white people.

Re: Talking of the 90's (97,580) (97,581) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Those are threads that fall out of interest and a constant narrative is lost. That is especially so when every time someone replies to a post there's a hundred lines of thread before each response. Coupled with symbols and characters added in for no reason. I like this board because the militant Dutchman keeps it clean and formal. Even if he still needs to get a little more... fun out of life! There was an ellipsis in that sentence and it ended with an exclamation mark. Let's see what happens. Hold onto your seats. Things are about to get wild.
