About Andrew from the United Kingdom: Banned forever!

Re: JLo can't sing lamb interview (97,872) (97,876) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Here's an idea: If the board you visit is too full of negativity from lambs whose opinions you dislike so much that you don't want to read them, why don't you go to another board more suited to your echo chamber ideology?

I had a vision of now, and it was all that you've given to me.

Re: Breakdown ad libs (97,835) (97,837) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Pretty confident on this one.

"Oh I'm crying. I am tragically dying inside and my heart cries. How do I feel? I'm losing my mind. Oh I, I break down and cry. I, I, I, but in reality I'm, I'm slowly losing my mind, how do I feel? What do you think? You gotta know I'm suffering. So I, I, turn out the lights and break down and cry. I... I... I..."

Now, you *can’t* have me when you want me. Infidel.

Re: Best opening line (97,797) (97,828) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Everyone knows the best opening line is from Fantasy: "Now, when you walk by every night, talking sweet and looking fine.."

Re: Best opening line (97,826) (97,827) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Nope. She sings "Now..." on the record. I even bought some new headphones for my faulty ears. Sorry, hun. Back to the spreadsheets.

I misheard neither the lyric, nor you. No problem, we can do it this way.

Re: Where I Belong 3rd most added song on Rhythmic (97,816) (97,820) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Do you like this song? I don't *not* like it, I just feel I am waiting for something to happen that doesn't come. In their first outing it was the "I would climb a mountain high...". The songs needs this kinda peak.

I'm tangential, darling, tangential. Often imitated, never duplicated.

Re: Best opening line (97,812) (97,815) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
I always took this as an example. Mariah may sing "Honey, you can have me..." in live performances but it doesn't change that she sang "Now, you can have me..." on the track, regardless of print. In my opinion.

I may possibly not claim to be the authority on anything here but having been born very hard of hearing - so much so that I could not speak properly through my early years - and having had to rely upon lipreading throughout childhood whilst many surgeries were performed on my ears, I was pretty good at reading lips. It's one of the reasons I can call out Mariah lipping from a mile away standing on my head whilst spinning.

Still with considerable loss of hearing at specific frequencies (and worsening according to my latest audiology) day-by-day I rely upon lipreading to single out the voices of those speaking to me in accumulative and background noise. It means I am constantly looking at someone's mouth rather than their eyes - which I often have to explain isn't out of rudeness but necessity. Masks for Covid is a pain.

I think I can say I am good at lip reading. In fact, I could pick you boring the arse off someone at a distance in a noisy crowded hallway whilst Mariah stands at the top or it singing "Honey, you can have me when you want me."

Re: Nick (97,813) (97,814) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
No, I was just musing, not replying to you. I am trying to multi-task with a lot of work. What I should do is create a lot of nerdy nonsensical spreadsheets that really don't mean anything to anyone, sprinkle that with an air is superiority and use that as a substitute for a personality. But I won't.

Re: Nick (97,809) (97,811) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Mariah had babies with Nick Cannon? No. Nick Cannon had babies with Mariah Carey. On a conveyor belt of stereotype, he is. Because he is financially wealthy, this is okay? Give him a hundred dollars in his bank account: is your levity and moral judgment the same? Is it? Financial wealth does not negate moral bankruptcy.

Oh, William. Some people say it's "Honey..." some people say it's "Now...". Google it. I say it's "Now...".

Re: Best opening line (97,800) (97,802) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
When thinking about it I did actually think Honey could take the crown, not for the breathy background line you mentioned but for:

"Now, you can have me when you want me."

It's such a confident, awesome opening line. I read a lot more into the line than it just being Mariah's promise to a lover. Does anyone else hear as Mariah saying to her fans: "Now that shut is over, I'm free and here for you. Nobody is standing between us." I love the line.

Re: Best opening line (97,783) (97,792) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Why, Miss Stacey, I do declayuh, who died and made you First Line Fairy? Ha. Any good little lamb knows the greatest opening line is:

"There's a hero if you look inside your heart..."

The whole song summed up in the in the first line, you trust her because you know immediately exactly what she is doing and exactly where she is taking you.

And if that isn't just about the one line every young person going through shit, feeling depressed and contemplating suicide needs to have emblazoned in their minds.

It's all right there. In that one single line.

I replied to a message aimed at me on a message board. You're so busy you read it. You're a silly little kid. Don't call me bro. You can call me Sir. Because I know stuff.

Re: Andrew's one trick pony (97,760) (97,766) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
"Mariah's 'eternally 12' has to do with her trauma, not her age."

Quote where she has said this. Or you are just extrapolating loosely to defend it.

"She's been saying this since her 20's."

Since her birth year was possibly altered. Yes.

"...which has to do with combating ageism, not just a singular year."

So above you said it was not changed due to her age, it was her trauma. But look here, it's now because of her age (but it's because of other peoples view of it so, heyyyy, totally innocent).

"I hate to break it to you, Andrew, but the music industry's PR has always tried to make their stars as young as conceivable."

You aren't breaking anything to me, accept a level of unwarranted smugness.

"They are well aware of ageism in the industry. When Eminem came out they passed him off as 25 instead of 27. Nicki Minaj was passed off as 24 at 28. J.Lo was also promoted to be 28 when she was 30. Most of their true ages weren't revealed until they were arrested. Others came out in time and nobody noticed. They just started printing the right age."

So it was not about all of their own "traumas"? How strange.

"Mariah was hired during a time period when women were considered 'over' the moment they hit 30."

Over at 30? Quote your sources. Because it's bollocks.

"If a woman was still riding a fame wave when that happened than her days were considered numbered. You can ask Madonna all about that struggle."

Shall I quote how many female artists have had success over the age of thirty? The issue is that younger people also deserve their time in the lime-light and there's only so much capacity in the industry.

"This is why many singers turned actress."

I "hate to break it to you". Mariah did not turn "actress" in order to get work, don't waste my time. She did it because of vanity.

Come at me with truth and fact, not opinions designed to defend someone under the idea of intersectional politics. Don't waste my time.

Re: Song of the summer (97,739) (97,742) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
With You and OHOMO are two of the best songs she has ever done. I listen to them over and over as it is to me as if Mariah is reborn. Loverboy Firecracker is gold. Everything else is dated. But my Mariah is in those songs. Like from out of a dream. And I'm this dream, there was a major diva in the wings.

Jamie is clearly a superfan and as such was lucky enough to obtain an historical flight booking that Mariah made. Who wouldn't have jumped at the opportunity? Leave the high horse at the door, indeed. I'm just sorry he don't got her passport, gurl. I'd love to see Mariah's passport photo. Guaranteed she is the only person in herstory that doesn't look like shit in it.
