Promo and MV (109,162) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Do we know if Mariah is scheduled to be on any tv appearances and what her promo schedule looks like? I know she'll be at the BETs but any other appearance? It looks like radio is playing a quite a bit, is this something we've seen with her last few releases or is this new? For music video, what do you guys think will be her vision. Excited for her working with Joseph so I hope there's some story line. I wonder if she'll do a parody of her previous relationships or her previous music video leads because the lyrics hint at both or I might be overthinking it. 1) The one about sing sing and evil king is of course Tommy. 2) The motorcycle man had a Yen for me. Is this a hint at Tanaka who's part Japanese and had a thing for motorcycles or is it her male lead in Sweetheart or even Miguel in #B. 3) The computer nerd has to be TMB unless I'm missing something haha. 4) The man in construction moving pounds through customs. Is it James Packer or Wentworth Miller (WBT/Prison Break because his character was a structural engineer in think in PB). Some people say the moving pounds through customs could be Tanaka too because apparently he was detained in Brazil. I haven't heard about this before though 5) "Said we'd be together, but you didn't stay forever. Now I guess it's just whatever 'til the twelfth of never." This is probably Nick because Mariah was super in love and thought it's forever and "twelfth of never" probably because he has 12 kids So I wonder if she'll do a parody like that which would be hilarious. That song had so many fun moments and quotable viral worthy lyrics like "snakes in the grass it's time to cut the lawn, Ed Scissor hands aka I cut you off". I love it and I love the whistles she did in one of the remix at the end. It's super catchy. I think Mariah really wanted Cardi on the remix. But ended up with Shawni and Stefflon Don. They didn't really realize how monstrous We Belong Together was going to be. It ended up staying at the top for a lot longer than anyone probably expected. What's crazy though is how Gen Z brought Obsessed back to life. Had Mariah pushed the promotion to the extremes it could've been her 19th #1. It's A Wrap is also another one, it became clear that the song had a lot more potential than people gave it credit for, it deserved way more attention. But my biggest bummer will always be A No No. Such a great '90s homage, and the way she mirrored the beginning of the chorus with TLC's "No Scrubs" was genius. Perfect ear candy. But the label let it fade to oblivion. Such a freaking shame. I was hoping they'd finally do her right after they let With You flop. It's like they missed the mark at every turn. That song is perfection, was sexy, fierce, clever lyrics, catchy chorus, top notch video, Mariah's revenge era confidence and so much more I'll forever be upset that it didn't get to be #1. Obsessed is another one. It was ahead of its time, it's so viral on TikTok and with the younger generation. Loverboy too was ahead of its time. The pop-y retro style is so in right now, Sabrina Carpenter has her whole aesthetic wrapped around that style. Problem with Mariah she's ahead of times and people only later realize how her songwriting was always 10 steps ahead of the music industry. Type Dangerous (109,123) by Edward from USA The beat is sick: fresh, modern, and definitely a grower. A little auto tune here and there, but she's earned the right to that, and it actually works in this context. I appreciate the fact that there are no whistle notes or any attempt at vocal gymnastics, it lets the vibe breathe. With the right feature, this could easily turn into a hit. I think it feels a bit too short though, just when it starts pulling you in, it ends a little too abruptly, like, we just got here, are we leaving already? Still, A+ for trying something new, A+ for her pen game and A for sounding smooth and confident with her current voice. It's a smart move in the right direction. (Friday 6 June 2025; 18:54)

Type Dangerous review (109,127) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Valid points and yes traditionally that would be nice but I think it's strategic of her to keep the song under 3 minutes, most new artists are doing that for more gains. As for the last part I kind of like that it fades from that point on. I personally am not missing another chorus. My only critique is probably the chorus isn't too strong but that's fine, it's just a firestarter. I like she's taking risks. I agree about the wordy parts kind of makes me nervous like TAOLG, but I think with it having some clever lyrics like "then comes in 3 hating ass hoes" hahah and some other it might have a shot at a viral moment. Type Dangerous review (109,126) by Brandon from USA The song is fire. I love the production, the retro/jazzy beat goes hard and she sounds good and confident riding the beat. She's not doing too much with her voice and a bunch of unnecessary runs but is allowing the song to shine. It doesn't sound dated but sounds fresh and current. I could easily hear this playing on the radio and I'm sure we will. She released it at the start of summer which is perfect for this song. I hope she goes all out with promo because this needs to be pushed. My critiques are small: 1. I wish the song was longer and the chorus came back in where it currently ends. However that is the format of most songs today so I get it. 2. It gets a bit wordy here and there but I don't mind it. Overall, I think it's a great way to reintroduce herself to the masses. I love the witty lyrics throwing shade very SIO, TMB, Migrate and ILT vibes with the shade. It's a very new sound for her yet sounds classic Mariah. I love the effort being put into the era. Starting with the Easter eggs in the DFAU remix calendar, followed by the teasers and now a full fledged lyric video with visuals. A lot of radio is also playing her which is great that she has radio deals. She signed on to a new label. I hope they promote this single and album to the max. Type Dangerous (109,079) by Shezz from Pk Ok I ain't mad. I quite like it. Still processing but initial reaction was very very positive - unlike all the other singles she's released over the years. The lyric video helped me get more into it. I think it's her best lead single in a long ass while. Mariah - get behind it and give it your all. I hope a proper video is coming soon. I feel like they haven't shot it yet. This is going to be the [It's like that] of [MC16]. The punchy re introduction to get the attention and then she'll knock us down with the WBT of this era. We don't know when we'll get another Mariah album after this and if ever so make the album count, use her star power and pull in those A list collaborations. The sequence of emoji is red heels, a pencil/paper, 3 women, bubble, soap, diamond, a diamond ring, a question mark and 2 exclamation marks. What does it mean? The emojis possibly refer to this line. These lyrics along with some others have leaked. Also the song is apparently Migrate meets Caution vibes. Type: Dangerous (109,049) by Shezz from Pk Yes it seemed likely that this was all part of the same video teaser from the car - switching from It's Like That to T:D MC16 to show us she's switching gears (literally) from Celebration of Mimi to her MC16 era. One lead single to another. Wearing the merch. If it is in fact not the real video then she gets A+ for effort for the effort into the rollout. Let's hope it gets a good response and she doesn't ditch it right out the blocks or worse - call it a buzz single. At first listen I wasn't quite blown away but it soon becomes a catchy tune you can't get out of your mind. I hope it's just the outro as well. I played it for a friend - who never really liked her but was forced to listen to everything MC and grew to really like her. He said well it's nice but it's no It's Like That. Mimi sessions (108,818) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I enjoyed it for what it is, yes her voice is different but we've known it for a while and we encouraged her to stop hiding behind smoke screens and just embrace her new voice and she did and I appreciate that. She looked amazing and snatched, the ambience looked nice and moody. Her singing isn't the concern for me, what's concerning for me is her energy. For some reason she's so rigid and robotic nowadays, I was hoping in a controlled environment like this she'd let loose a bit more. But it seems like she's stuck in one place and her face is not moving much and it's like she doesn't want to move her neck (how I look when I have a neck pain). Mariah used to be quite animated on stage - of course she wouldn't have difficult choreography but just walking around with the mike, flipping around her hair, scooting down etc. Now it's like she's standing there not making a single move. I also saw this interview of her with an Australian interviewer, it was a remote interview promoting the upcoming shows and the interviewer kept trying to make Mariah laugh etc but she just looked bored and checked out and again stiff, even while she's sitting. She was so focused on making people understand that it's not just her without makeup and that they had to do a lot to make her look that way. Like Mariah girl we've seen your flawless face without makeup we know it's not like that character. She's the new Cher, even if she has to go on stage, sit on a throne chair, pop her CDs in and waves herself through her concerts like the true diva she is. Even her "dahlings" and "do you like the ensemble?" will be lipped because it would prevent wrinkles around her mouth. Lee Daniels forced overhead lighting on her during the filming of "Precious" and she ended up with a mustache. I personally use it when I want to grow my beard. She knows what she's doing.
