Mariah needs to be part of a major label #7 51,000 (111,693) by T from USA I was worried about her signing to gamma and my worries were correct. It surely was a way to connect to what moves records these days which is streaming, particularly at Apple. The only problem with that is it was a big gamble as Mariah isn't, and probably never will be a streaming artist. Her strength is physical sales and unfortunately being independent meant many countries, many stores from Canada to Spain, just didn't have the album in stock. I'm not mad about the first week sales but I am disappointed. It was in her hands, and she did decently but what about actually singing some of these great songs on tv? Like Jimmy Kimmel and America's got Talent literally were both ratings hits the week her album came out. Why didn't she book onto these shows way ahead of time and sing HFIA? I'm not sure what the song is really about, what do the native speakers think and how do you interpret it? Did you notice that this time in the booklet of the CD there's no thanks to her fans/lambily? It's the first time ever. Maybe because it's completely deticated to her mother and children. I also wonder who said to her: You're not supposed to do this album. Lucky for us she did it. The album feels special, indeed like a farewell album. (Saturday 27 September 2025; 20:15)

I felt like a complete idiot during the Sza interview, when someone in the crowd had a CD, and she played snippets, and I had to ask my Mariahbro has the album been released? I did not know it was recorded by a group named Chick and released with MC backing vocals and as a hidden writer. I really thought she had it in the vault and no one had ever heard the music period. Now I've completely lost interest. Ya'll wanna hear her vocals over it but I just feel deflated about hearing the real singer of a Milli Vanilli esque story. I'm so deflated. Mariah promo (111,392) by T from USA She's got a busy release week booked. But I notice according this rating tracker site the only shows that really matter in the top 50 rated programs are: ABC's The View, NBC's Today Show, and CBS' Morning. Mariah's only doing the CBS show out of the those top three. I wonder if she had a deal with CBS for the Vanguard Award that all promo on networks has to happen on CBS this time. Drew's and JHudd's shows are on CBS. Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson don't even make the top 50. I didn't think she would do Kelly's anyway because she usually makes her guests sing lol, and you she'd try and get some vocals. Too much pressure. But it could also be that Kelly's show is affiliated with NBC. It's a shame she couldn't do The View, as the ratings are still massive. SZA (111,365) by Shezz from Pk Something between them for sure with [Apple Music] on the 24th now after MC sent her that response that Apple Music posted with an eyes emoji. I feel if they have recorded a collaboration, they're not going to release a remix or a song not listed on the album at this point. Very likely that it's an interview, with Sza interviewing MC. Though all the sudden love exchange between them in the last two weeks clearly points to them having cooked something together. I wish that was on the album it would have really helped the album sales. Also, the iheart performance was pretty okay. One of her only performances I've actually managed to fully watch in the last few years. Mostly lipped yes but some decent involvement and energy, better outfit and the great hair. 5 days to go. Some fans call Music Box her "AC ballad era", but the real ones know there's way more happening: the layering on Never Forget You, the gospel storm that is Anytime You Need a Friend, the dancefloor readiness of Now That I Know, the haunting otherworldliness of Everything Fades Away. Trivia time: Music Box sold over 28 million copies worldwide, becoming one of the best-selling albums of the '90s. The Dreamlover EP had David Morales' Def Club Mix, a moment that cemented Mariah as a legit dance floor girlie. Wednesday (111,127) by Lara from Middle East So I was watching season 2 of Wednesday Addams, I got serious Mariah vibes watching Morticia Addams. She has that calm, idgaf sarcastic delivery of words that reminds me so much of most Mariah's interviews. I think next Halloween she and the twins with Anderson .Paak should go for the Addams family. Granted from an Rnb perspective the remix could be considered stronger. Anyway I tend to notice people on here and other Mariah discussion forums, talking about their disdain for the original song. The VMAs performance (111,004) by Lighty from China I'm glad Mariah got these awards at the VMAs but the performance is just ... meh. That's the best word I could come up with. Lip sync fails here and there, cute but uninspired "battle" with Bianca, and above all, still little energy overall. Nice song selection though and the dancers are doing great. Random thought | Hunt for palatable ballads (110,917) by BFF from United States I think certain niche genres still leave room for ballads, but they are just not mainstream any more. I usually hear material like that on the local alternative and adult contemporary stations but not the pop, R&B or hip-hop stations. Lady Gaga and Bruno Mars doing "Die With a Smile" was a bit of an outlier - it went to #1 and has more a ballad/soft rock feel than 90 percent of what becomes popular on the radio. Leon Bridges dropped a single called "Hold On" that has an almost Otis Redding/Bill Withers feel to it, but he has always been very non-mainstream artist. (Wednesday 3 September 2025; 15:55)

One long month (110,804) by Jamie from UK I'm hanging in there, I am excited, my post was taken out of context. When I said I'm loosing interest it wasn't in the project it was more the drawn out process. Just seems to be taking forever that's all. 12 weeks since TD was released on June 6th. And we still have another 4 weeks to go. I'm just an old school lamb that isn't used to waiting this long for the album from lead single. Music video idea (110,661) by Dove from United States I just came up with a video idea. Not saying it's award worthy or anything - just an idea. It's for Betcha 'Gon Know. They could hire an actress that looks like a young her. But a lot like her, like Blake Lively and Isabela Ferrer in It Ends With Us. So the younger actress could be acting out the scene in the song while Mariah does her glamour pose/singing scenes. I know that album was ages ago, and this is not going to happen, but I come here because MC reality is suspended for me and I can share my dreams and creative visions freely. Article: The top producers of the 21st century on the Hot 100 (110,602) by Dove from United States Why is Beyoncé way higher than Mariah (and a lot of the other producers on this list)? I read (on Reddit a long time ago) that she doesn't even write her songs. I read she changes a few words and claims credit. That's her contribution. Are we living in the upside down? How can she, in good conscience, even accept that honor? Does she even deserve all those Grammys she has? She has a great voice, and some great songs, but is she actually the producer? I don't follow her that closely, so please somebody correct me if I'm wrong. (Wednesday 20 August 2025; 15:18)

Finally watched the Alan Carr podcast (110,529) by Lighty from China And I have to say it's really painful to watch Mariah's interviews these days. She seems very reluctant to answer most of the questions and all she had been doing was to repeat what the interviewer had just said, not only Alan, but all the interviewers from last year until now. She looks uncomfortable, uninterested, tired and dull. Sometimes she laughs awkwardly as if she doesn't understand what the interviewer is talking about, or maybe she's using the laughs to cover the awkwardness, but only made things worse. This low energy is not only seen in the interviews, but also in the songs. Her first verse in Sugar Sweet, especially the "I'm gonna take my time, my nails, hair, new perfume" lines, doesn't sound like she's even remotely excited to "open up the door" and meet this guy. It feels like she was just obliged to finish singing the lyrics, and that's all. While the two featured artists in the song sound way more sincere, or to say the least, they fit better to the lyrics and the song than Mariah does. I still remember vividly watching Mariah going on Alan's Chatty Man to promote the Memoirs album in 2009. She was funny, witted, and carefree. She played flawlessly and effortlessly along with Alan's jokes and skits, the "stuff the turkey", the "champagne foams", which Mariah now says she doesn't remember, and the Eminem question, etc. Such a wonderful show to watch. Now this Mariah has all gone, I wonder where she's been to, is it really that something's seriously wrong with her mentality because of the heavy medication, or just as Alan asked jokingly in the podcast, "What? Are you dead inside?" (during the fridge magnet questions). At least this Alan podcast is so far the best interview we have got for this period. Mariah seems to have opened up a little bit more. Taylor Swift (110,440) by Bobby A from United States I think Taylor Swift is going to drop The Life of a Showgirl on 09.26. She has not announced the release date yet, but peorders have started. If she does drop on 09.26, it will be bad for MC. Let's hope that is not the case. Vinyls are suppose to ship by 10.13. So that leaves 10.3 and 10.10 as the other drop dates.
