About Geezy from USA by way of NYC: I am 30 years old. I'm from the great big apple. I've been a fan of MC since the debut era. Oh yeah I love hot women!!!

Happy 15th anniversary (36,340) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
On this day September 16th, 1997, Mariah released her 6th studio album Butterfly which many fans and critics consider Mariah's career defining album from professional and personal standpoint. The album saw Mariah venture into an Urban direction more then ever before. Even though it predecessor saw Mimi take a dip into the urban pool, Butterfly saw her bathe in it from top to bottom with its co-producers being some of the biggest names in Urban music at the time. Butterfly spawn two #1 singles in the US, Honey and My All gave Mimi her 12 and 13th #1 single respectively. Also, the album went to become a multiplatinum smash in the US and an international smash worldwide. Happy 15th anniversary Butterfly.

Glad to see... (36,319) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
I was glad to see Mariah letting loose in the nightclub. Hearing her sing those jazz standards make want a jazz album asap from her. What do guys think of a jazz album from MC full of standards and original material?

Mimi (36,312) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
First things first, Mimi looked simple chic last night at the BMI awards. I think that the tribute was nicely put together and both Joe and Fantasia did Mimi justice with their performances. Once again, Mimi congratulations on this much deserved honor. You are truly an icon and I can't wait to hear this new ballad that B.Scott is going crazy about.

The other performances (36,282) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
After expressing dismay for the triumphant performance, I will say I truly enjoyed the other showings which proves to me Mariah still has it and knows how to use it when need be. I haven't lost total faith in our girl, I still think she has some tricks up her sleeve. I also noticed a little more confidence when performing the older material. I guess that comes from being comfortable with performing these songs on a regular basis. I guess Triumphant will be same in due time. I can't wait to hear all the happenings of the BMI awards. Word is Fantasia is tributing MC with Hero. Once again, congratulations MC on this well deserved honor.

Triumphant performance (36,269) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
The performance was less then triumphant, period.

NFL Kickoff setlist (36,255) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
Mariah needs to definitely keep the pace very fast and uptempo. Songs like Hero and many of her other ballads are not needed for this particular event. I'm just saying.

Slipping Away (36,237) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
I just finished listening to that particular song and I have to say Mariah and Dave Jam Hall have written and produced some great stuff together. With Slipping Away for example this is a R&B driven track with a pop feel as is the Daydream album, that's why it is so relatable to the masses. Still one of MC's true masterpieces in my humble opinion. Great stuff.

So sad, you just never know what someone may be going through. That's why it's important to cherish yourself and those you love, because you may not have the next second to tell them a simple I love you, good night, ect.

The album or song (36,160) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
Hello my Archives family. I hope all is well with everyone. I have a question for us all, what's the name of the one album or one song that when you hear it, it takes back to the moment when you first discovered Mimi or you became a fan? If I had to choose the album that will define that moment for me is Mariah Carey and the single Vision Of Love.

Angels Cry (36,147) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
One of my favorite songs from MOAIA. That was a classic A/C Mimi moment in opinion as well.

Looking forward (36,109) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
I feel like we can officially call Triumphant a major disappointment and disaster from looks of the charts and the majority of the reviews. Now looking forward, I can hope that Mimi and her team are putting the proper game plan in place. Also in order for this new era to be a success, Mariah must deliver better quality songs, videos, and performances. She must realize that she is cut from a different cloth compared to today's female pop stars and even though it's not fair, she has set a bar so high that when an album or song doesn't match or out perform the previous effort, it will always be deemed a flop or failure. That's just how things go in the music world and the world of Mariah Carey.

Old fans vs. new fans (36,091) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
In my honest opinion this debate like so many other debates on this message board is null and void we can all agree to disagree. As Stacey said we are all fans no matter new or old. Me personally I am a fan from the early days and find myself more bias to Mariah's older material but I can admit I enjoy some of her recent material as well. Hell I am never ashamed to admit I am a MC loyalist but I will be honest and voice my opinion when I don't like a song, an outfit, or a video ect. We all have an opinion about something and its nothing wrong with expressing it as long as its done in a respectful manner. Good day my Archives family.

The verdict is in (36,061) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
I just watched the triumphant video in its entirety. While the storyline was decent, I couldn't help but feel like I was watching any other MC video as of late. As much as I love MC, I am bit tired of the look at me I'm sexy act. Yes, mama looks amazing, but I need a little from her at this point subpar songs and videos will only lead to subpar or no results at all. She is the last of a dying breed and so many are counting her out with this new album our girl better come harder then this if she expects triumphant results. I say, use Triumphant as a buzz single and move on.

Triumphant video (36,058) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
As far as the video goes, I'm not expecting an over the top glamorous production. I just want something of good quality, maybe it will breathe life into the song itself, but I just don't see that happening, only time will tell. Have a good one my Archives family.

Writers (36,047) by Geezy from USA by way of NYC
Personally I feel MC's songwriting skills are great as to where she should go back to trusting her own pen again without co-writers as she did during most of the early part of her career. I must admit the MC and JD chemistry is becoming kind of stale. I would like for her to work with a producer that can give her balance between R&B and pop without sounding too dated or too euro pop. On another note, I'm glad to see that MC and Qtip hook up again. I can't wait to hear the results. Have a good day Archives family.
