Andrew (110,089) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I for one am glad he's gone and hope he stays gone. I think everyone on this board forgot why he was banned. I can appreciate people having different takes and different opinions about MC but Andrew's opinions weren't just about Mariah. His very last stunt was being extremely violent towards me and a few others on this board. He resorted to name calling, personally attacking and just making outrageous posts that had no business here. All because he didn't agree with my views. I get some people who know him say that he was going though personal stuff but no amount of stuff going on in your personal life justifies viciously attacking someone on a freaking messageboard. Not only was he a bully, he also never considered that the person he's throwing insults at may have personal things going on themselves but didn't resort to his level of insult hurling. His language had gotten so bad when responding to me the webmaster had to stop posting them. Not only included abusive language he would also constantly demean people for their English, myself included when English isn't our first language. He was petty, a bully and downright abusive and this wasn't the first time he did that to me at least and wouldn't have been the last if he wasn't stopped. (Saturday 26 July 2025; 13:11)

Sugar Sweet (110,023) by Shezz from Pk Ok, an instant ear worm. I love the beat and love how all 3 of them blend seamlessly on the song. No one feels like a cut and paste after thought. This is how you arrange a trio - Walter take notes. Doesn't seem short at all. I think it'll do better with the streamers and the TikTokers than TD did. Feels more like a Mariah song than TD did (no hate for TD, I do really like it). Another interpolation (ILT) that fit well. Has potential to do way better than TD. I love Mariah's chest voice specially on "I hope that you don't mind, I'm gonna take my time". That's the sweet spot of the song. If I had to nitpick, I know Mariah loves to add all her textures but her head voice isn't as smooth anymore. And the fan art cover. Actually fan art has become brilliantly better with AI. Will be interesting to see how it does - JLo has dropped her Birthday song as well. I know we all need to not focus on chart success anymore but the truth of the matter is that unless she and the label see decent numbers, there really won't be much more music from her. You're a wonderful person and wow you have a 17 year old. I too fell in love with her during the Tommy era and I will never deny those were her best years, but I still look forward to what she releases now. It is what it is. Here for it all. Pun intended. I love the album title and the cover art, although it feels more like a photograph you'd generally find in the album liners than on the cover. New album (109,717) by Shezz from Pk Bobby A, Edward is 100% right. Even if she released Fantasy right now it really wouldn't do much. Secondly I think we need to trust their process. They have a plan plus they're probably still working a few things out. I'd rather she finish everything right than announce the album prematurely and then delay it later. Plus she's not going to have a mega pop star roll out. 6 weeks ago we thought she was done, that she'd never release anything again and that there was something gravely wrong with her. A week later she gave us a brand new single and said MC16 is on its way, did numerous radio appearances and BET, performed at Capital FM, released one of her better videos in the last 15 years, rpartaked in a confused chaotic song with Barbra, Walter and Ariana and then just released a remix ep with some pretty good remixes. All in the last 5 weeks after being mostly out of action for 7 years. Cut MC and Gamma some slack. She knows what she's doing. The next single will be out soon and so will the album announcement. No amount of promotional blitz will make it perform along the level of the current stars but the music will be there for you to enjoy regardless. I wanted more songs with Willie Nelson and other country artists. 3. Melt Away should have been a single. A viral moment on Tiktok and vinyl release like It's A Wrap would have been nice in 2024. 4. A No No should have been the lead single for Caution. 5. Cool On You should have made the final tracklist for E=MC2. 6. I love Bryan-Michael Cox's collaborations with MC alone. 4 Real 4 Real and For The Record are their best collaborations. 7. If this summery second single doesn't become a bigger Hot 100 hit, MC16's overall success is going to be very low. How does that even work I sometimes try to imagine. All 3 sing all of it then their parts are picked or they just sing their assigned parts? Sounds like there's no room for any synergy of energies there. I don't fault Mariah here at all. She did not write the lyrics, the melody, nothing. Did the best she could with her voice. I don't think this is any indication of MC16 whatsoever. Not a bad song but it could have soared. There was definitely room here for "All I Ever Wanted" style vocals from all of them. Mariah held back to her own detriment. It feels like these three were never in the same studio. It's like they all recorded their individual parts from their home studios and then emailed them to Walter A to sew together. My thoughts and 2 cents. - The video seems to be a mix between ILT, Boy and Slave For You. - I think Mariah looked absolutely stunning in every shot, my favourite being her "Britney" look with the black smokey eyes and the Mr. Beast scene where she looked like she's straight out of TEOM era. I love the risks she took with her looks including the red lip. She looked stunning in the silver bedazzled look to but that's her usual look. - I thought JK said the video was longer than we think? But it wasn't. Or did he mean that we'll keep pausing on the boys haha. - First high budget video after a while but I think it lacked a strong storyline or I missed it. I like the different "acts" being different men but I wish there was some context and dialogues like Honey/Heartbreaker. The CGI was a bit too much for me especially the diamond one in the first act lol. I was hoping for something more like "Boy is mine" video from Ariana. - I heard there are more cameos other than Mr Beast. Which is smart to introduce her to new audience. I hope their contracts have requirements for them to post over the next few days. I'm dead at the "I don't know him". - Why were the all laying on the floor in pain? - Why was she so stiff in the first act? I get being nervous on stage but she literally had full control here. Next single (109,243) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter I know it's premature to talk about this but I have been hearing rumours that the next single is going to be a ballad type duet with Anderson .Paak. There are a few reasons I don't think that's a good idea. - It's the TEOM cloning all over again which tanked E=MC2 and her future releases for trying to do the same format. I think her next single should still be another uptempo song. A fresh new sound like T-Dang. It's summer so let it be fun and something people can enjoy and feel uplifted. Some catchy lyrics, a strong chorus (Sabrina Carpenter dominated summer with her clever lyrics and choruses, the "I'm working late cos I'm a singer" or the catchy chorus of Espresso, or the digs in "Taste" and "Please Please Please" to name a few). So I think her next single should be uptempo and catchy. The general public is seemingly responding well to T-Dang not just lambs which is new and we need the GP to get success. - I honestly think if she is releasing any collaborations as singles it should be high impact and high profile collaborators that can benefit her on the charts if she really wants those #1's stacking up. Doubling the new era with the [Mimi] era, radio promos, It's Like That and Breakdown video references and now the Rakim rap feature on the BET performance (which was a huge step above what we've seen in the recent past). Does that mean he's on the actual remix as well? It made sense and she loves her old school rappers but I don't think a Rakim remix will be as commercially effective as one with a contemporary rapper. I get her wanting to be current and wanting to go the more commercial route with her first single but I think if she wants another classic hit, she has to go for deeper songs. We Belong Together is a good example of how she blended both these sides and look how people responded to it. Whereas I do really like the song, I too yearn for more mature lyrics. Apparently the remix is on its way. I hope it's a strong feature and female. A little nervous about how this song will sound live at the BET Awards. And not just Mariah, apparently several artists engage in this. I can see it being true, or else she's just bragging about her financial status. As for the different guys in the song - either they should all be fictional or all past relationships. Some say that's Nick though the forever guy sounds more like him or that could be Tanaka as well. I also thought Tommy references now are a bit old and tired but maybe she did it because it made the verse more interesting and dramatic.
