Re: Scam? (93,799) (93,802) by cBerr from Canada
While I've been described by many as cynical - and it would be miraculous for "lightning to strike twice" with these "justicefor..." hashtags - there is some logic at play here.

All artists are cancelling their releases due to COVID, so there are literally no new albums to top the charts right now. Therefore, it may not take that much of a percentage increase in sales to top iTunes.

And on a side note, we all know how much stock to put in anything from Showbiz411.

And with all due respect to his "receipts". Is there anyone aside from your grandmother who is ordering physical CDs from Amazon in 2020?

Re: This performance (93,785) (93,790) by cBerr from Canada
Outstanding performance. There is a version on YouTube that has been "remastered" to pretty good quality.

If they don't release one of the European concerts in HQ/HD for Daydream25 (which would be a huge wasted opportunity), then they must include this as part of the Tokyo version in its entirety.

Bill that is most definitely a "go big or go home" line-up. I do like how you went all out with the remixes. Also, I can't believe I completely overlooked the MSG concert in HD. I'm sure they have the masters to "Make It Happen".

You could actually call it Daydream (Deluxe "[censored] the Grammys" Edition) lol.

Re: Dreamlover (93,054) (93,058) by cBerr from Canada
Yes, I've also heard that the Bam Jam Soul was the original concept for Dreamlover but the "powers that be" tapped Walter to give it a pop makeover. I'd like to be mad about it, but both versions have their merits - and I'm only about 75% confident that during the early 90's the Bam Jam Soul (or original version) would have been a #1 hit.

Daydream anniversary (93,042) by cBerr from Canada
Mariah's recent #justiceforslippingaway post got me thinking about what I would like to see on a special release of Daydream (which is the direction I hope she's taking given the recent love shown for "Slipping Away").

Disc One
01. Fantasy
02. Underneath The Stars
03. One Sweet Day
04. Open Arms
05. ABMB
06. I Am Free
07. When I Saw You
08. Long Ago
09. Melt Away
10. Forever
11. Daydream Interlude
12. Looking In
13. Slipping Away
14. "The Crave Song"

Disc Two
01. Fantasy (Radio Mix) (from AUS single)
02. Fantasy (The Boss Mix)
03. ABMB (Def Classic Radio Mix)
04. ABMB (Always Club Mix)
05. ABMB (ST Dub)
06. Looking In (HaNi Remix)
07. One Sweet Day (Chucky's Remix)
08. Underneath The Stars (Drifting Remix)
09. Underneath The Stars (Drifting Remix w/o Rap)

Deluxe Packaging
01. Daydream Tour Audio - European date
02. DVD/BluRay (best quality - even if Tokyo, but ideally Rotterdam)
Bonus: If an Underneath The Stars music video exists, they are obligated to include it.

If this deluxe package ever saw the light of day I would... well let's not get into it.

Re: Slipping Away on IG (93,036) (93,040) by cBerr from Canada
There are also 2 versions of Dreamlover that appear on a 4-trk Promo CD (CSK 5450).

Bam Jam Soul - 4:25
Def Club Mix Edit - 4:03

Bam Jam Soul is an excellent reworking IMO.

Re: Signature song (91,991) (91,993) by cBerr from Canada
I couldn't agree more with your sentiments, but for a different reason. I don't want her legacy to be defined by a "seasonal moment". A song they wheel her out to sing for a few weeks each year like a novelty act. That's why they need to go just as hard for Daydream 2020 and Butterfly 2022 - two eras of her career that could only be described as epic.

#1 finally (91,687) by cBerr from Canada
This is so long overdue. After everything that's transpired these last few years, this is an outstanding accomplishment. She and her team pulled out all the stops to make this happen. I certainly hope they keep this momentum rolling and do the same thing with Daydream in 2020. Her icon status needs to be cemented with more than just "Merry Christmas".

Re: AIWFCIY live at Tokyo Dome (91,514) (91,518) by cBerr from Canada
Not to get too "in the weeds", but the distinction I was making with this release of AIWFCIY from Tokyo Dome is that they had good enough masters to release a HQ 1080p in a widescreen or panoramic format. That does not appear to be the case for St. John the Divine. Thus my hope for another big surprise when Daydream 25 rolls around. (fingers crossed)

Re: AIWFCIY live at Tokyo Dome (91,504) (91,514) by cBerr from Canada
I'm no expert in video production, but I'm guessing if they have released this performance of AIWFCIY in 1080p as it appears on YouTube/vevo, they have HQ or U-matic masters of the entire concert (as only preserving one song performance would not have made sense). Here's hoping that for Daydream's 25th we will see this concert in all its HQ digital glory.

Re: Questions / fan favorites (75,066) (75,077) by cBerr from Canada
Following DaBrat's rap, Mariah sings/whispers "May we always be together... in the sands of time." Sorry if my post ends up being a duplicate because someone replied first.

RJJ12 / Fantasy remix (52,016) by cBerr from Canada
There is actually a version similar to what you're thinking of. It's called "Fantasy" (Bad Boy Fantasy with O.D.B.) (clocks in at around 4:50). There is also a edited version without O.D.B. called "Fantasy" (Bad Boy Mix) (locks in at 4:15).

#1 to Infinity / something in store (51,944) by cBerr from Canada
I think there's something brewing with this release. By that I mean we'll see more thank just one new track. Why is the album only up for pre-order on her website and not yet on iTunes? There's also a picture making the rounds to promote the CD and the disc is clearly labeled "Disc 1". And the last time around Mariah herself stated she couldn't put out the #1's album without including those 4 "bonus" tracks. It would have been "unfair" to the fans. I have no proof to back anything up, but in my gut I just think we're going to get more than just "Infinity".

#1's To Infinity (51,667) by cBerr from Canada
First off, Iove the artwork. It's simple, yet bold and stunning. I would have enjoyed a new single (or a snippet or something) but I will take this knowing that information should now be coming soon. Just something small that I noticed. They've gone back to the style of font used during her Sony/Columbia days. It's a minor detail, but something I noticed almost immediately when the reveal was at about 10%.

New articles / fanning the fires (47,454) by cBerr from Canada
I have been biting my tongue for a while now, but I can't be quiet anymore. While I'm all for constructive discussions on the current "era", I can't help but feel a little disappointed when fansites post articles like the one posted today on this site (re: MC net worth better after divorce?). I mean could this article be anymore desperate? As if Mariah would ever need to request alimony from Nick or vice-versa for that matter. Nick is quite successful himself. Posting these articles just adds more fuel to the fire and it is akin to a spreading virus. It doesn't mean the article is credible, just more likely to appear higher within a search engine and then blogs, sites like TMZ and that gossip-whore Wendy run with it as if it were true. Am I alone in my thinking here?

Meteorite / You Don't Know What To Do (44,299) by cBerr from Canada
While I recommend taking this with a grain of salt, according to a reliable DJ/Remixing forum that I visit, dance mixes are being commissioned for both tracks. Don't know which one will get more of a "push", but we will hopefully get decent remix packages and promotion for both tracks.

Bill from UK / EP eligibility (44,227) by cBerr from Canada
Thanks for reminding me about "Unplugged". While I did completely forget that it was also an EP - I still feel the same way. EPs are not albums - by their descriptive name alone. They are Extended Play(s) and not Long Play(s). The Billboard 200 is an albums chart. And like I said previously, this has nothing to do with MIAM specifically. I am simply bringing it up because multiple websites/headlines are reading that he is "leading the album sales charts" and it is not fair to those artists who have recently released an actual album (probably of better quality music to boot).

Sales / charts (44,191) by cBerr from Canada
With regards to the article on Austin Mahone (or whatever his name is), since when does a 8-track EP [of which 2 tracks are listed as bonus tracks] qualify as an album? Maybe I don't know the rules for charting, but have EPs always been eligible for the BB200 Album Chart? Seems somewhat unfair. Before anyone accuses me of bias, I would feel this way regardless of the artist in question. It's unfair to all new releases; Mariah's, Coldplay's, MJ's or Sarah McLachlan's. All of which are full-length albums.

First post / thoughts on MIAM (44,190) by cBerr from Canada
Hey everyone. Found this site after the drama surrounding the MDJ (non-)closure, but wanted to wait until after the album release to combine my first post with my thoughts on the album. From top-to-bottom, I think this is a really solid release, maybe the closest to resembling "old-school" Mariah. (Even though I am not one of those who obsess over that sort of thing.) I'm proud of her growth/maturing as an artist and with regards to MIAM, I have not skipped a single track on this album and believe it is full of potential "singles" to help sales.
