Play That Song (111,624)
by Jamie from UK
| |
|
|
I wish they would release an actual digital single download of Play That Song with a B-side and some remixes. Doesn't seem like the last two singles have actually been singles as no separate digital download. I guess it's to draw more people to the album.

Oh I thought it was a great balance between that and HFIA. It's just great to see her so relaxed and involved on the Jimmy Fallon interview. She looks great, she's confident, she's very much present and she's coming across fantastically. It's not the usual questions so I'm definitely here for it.

Hey Gamma (111,621)

Can you please make sure Mariah is talking about Here For It All the album that mad us wait for 7 years, and not talking about that grunge album that is not officially released and does not need airtime during her interviews. All I see on social media is her snippets talking about that grunge album on Jimmy Fallon and other interviews and not Here For It All. Let's focus on Here For It All and have it shine, that grunge album can have its spotlights when it's time to release.

My Love (111,588)
by Jamie from UK
| |
|
|
I have to agree Bill. I've just landed into Orlando and was listening to the album on my break, My Love is beautiful and the vocals too, I love your feelings too, the vocals are not as strong in the part when she says "picture" but otherwise I love it. She must have recorded different songs over a long period. I'm really loving the album vibe, it's very early Mariah and I also didn't think we would hear this sound again from her again. I would love another project with a similar vibe too, it has a [Music Box] and Daydream feel to it.

My Love (111,575)
by Bill from the UK
| |
|
|
I must have played My Love about 20 times yesterday. There was a certain magic about Mariah's early remakes - I'll Be There, Without You, Open Arms, the recently unearthed My Prayer - I didn't think that would be present or captured ever again, as it seemed to disappear over time. But wow, this has got to be one of her best ever. It's sung so beautifully, and the music, the background vocals, I can't believe something so wonderful is here at my disposal to enjoy whenever I want. If this is her last ever remake she does, she ended on an amazing high with this. I bet Paul is so proud and pleased with her interpretation. First class Mariah, I love you.

Yes I'm loving it, this is Mariah, I just wish she hadn't waited so long to record songs like this again. The songs are quality, I'm used to the new vocals now but imagine these songs with Daydream locals. My Love I feel the vocals are most strongest on that song.

HFIA (111,559)
by ADAM from USA
| |
|
|
This is making me teary eyed now that you said that - HFIA is a mashup of The Wind, Looking In, Outside, Portrait, and something fresh. This is her last full album, I suspect she's fighting a private medical issue that she's keeping close to the vest. I think she's a real class act creating this masterpiece of a final album for her fans and children to keep.

I don't understand why Type Dangerous and Sugar Sweet were chosen to launch the album when you had compositions like In Your Feelings, Nothing Is Impossible, and I Won't Allow It that are so much better, different to any other launch she's done before, and better represent the album's sound. It's to the point they sound somewhat out of place and I find myself skipping them so I stay in that 70s lane. I can't stop playing this album, it's so good.

I love the album but the deep lyrics make me worry. What gruesome fall did she survive? And that lyric "Laugh through the tears till I'm gone" made me cry? Something seemed to have happened without us knowing and I'm so happy that she's still around with us.

CBS Gale interview (111,441)
by Jamie from UK
| |
|

I just watched the interview but I skipped through the snippets. Nice to see the humour still there and her vulnerability. I just feel the light heartedness isn’t there she’s clearly very medicated. But if that’s what she needs to function then that’s cool. It was great to see her open up a bit more though and not talk about the same old things. I'm really excited for tomorrow.

CBS Gale interview (111,432)
by Mara from United States
| |
|
|
That is how you interview the likes and talent of Mariah Carey. What a beautiful interview with reaching into Maria[h] and getting her to speak for the first time about her grief and her loss and just talking about her mom, and even the fact that she brought up that she was at her bedside and with her. I'm so glad that she heard the words she needed to hear to heal. It was also so special to hear her speak of Alison as her sister in that way. I'm sure she had and continues to have so many different emotions going on.
Here For It All sounds like one of her best albums, and I am so excited just like the old me in the 90s as a teenager when she would release her albums in the fall and they always coincided with something I was going through. This album doesn't shy away from the same feeling "Nothing Is Impossible" sounds like one of the most beautiful melodies and lyrics. I think I've ever heard just from that clip alone I am so excited for this album let alone the "My Love" cover. I can't wait to hear that. I hope she takes it in a different direction than "One More Try" and it's not as overproduced with too much going on. I'm just so excited. I can't believe we're going to have new music for the first time in seven years basically tomorrow at midnight. Congratulations Mariah - we are so proud of you and all you have and continue to overcome. Most of us have been proudly with you and Here For It All through your entire career. This moment is all of ours.

Don't worry Jamie. HFIA will be available on 9/26 for you. AI said that it could be a regional variation because of the time zone or country. Sometimes a different date will be displayed based upon location acting as a placeholder date and leading to temporary system glitch. All systems are working together to make sure HFIA drops on 09.26 in all time zones and countries.

Good critics for the new album (111,367)
by MusicfanJ from Germany
| |
|
|
I was surprised to read good critics about her new album in a German online newspaper today (Welt-News) which I wanted to share with you. The critic wrote, he was able to hear the album in advance and was very pleased. It's a combination of RnB, powerballads, adult-contemporary and hip-hop influences. So everything she's known for and loved the last 35 years. He also said "Here for it all" is one of her best ballads and worth the wait. Wow, now I have high expectations. He liked the self-irony of some of her lyrics which is very rare for a non-fan too. I was almost shocked to read something so positive. So now I can't wait to hear the full album like in the good old days.

I'm seeing on social media many fans being worried about Mariah's schedule and health. Not so much as what's going on with her medically but her being over worked. Can her voice handle it? I have noticed that she sounds her best during the holidays especially during her Christmas shows. I really would like to know does she rest more and has extra tea? I don't think she'll have any problems selling tickets so I hope she delivers and puts on a good show.

Hey Stacey, I hope [you're] well? I've just been on UK iTunes and it's showing explicit here for that track. Interesting though the album didn't show up if I just typed Mariah Carey in search bar. Now I had to put in the full album title too for it to show up on search. I wonder if she's gonna edit it but highly doubt it. I can only wish she would take that word out, it's completely unnecessary.

I've broken my own rule and listened to the HFIA snippet multiple times. The sh$% word is so unnecessary. The album doesn't have the warning, explicit lyrics like MIAM did. I think it may be edited on the album version but allowed on the digital single. But man, I am loving those lyrics. So deep.
