About LC from USA: I am a lamb in high school and I've been a Mariah fan all my life! She is the reason I sing and write songs and she's impacted my life in so many ways.

Congratulations Mariah (53,749) by LC from USA
Mariah just earned her 13th top 10 album in the UK with #1 To Infinity. She entered at number 8. It's her first top 10 album in 7 years, as her last top 10 was E=MC2, which entered at number 3. She is also number 1 on the UK R&B album chart. Congratulations to Mariah and all the UK lambs.

Thank God I Found You (53,733) by LC from USA
Have you guys seen this? It's the full performance of Thank God I Found You from May 20th, and literally, it is Mariah's best vocal performance in a very long time. Her agility with her runs is returning, and what is so impressive is that the metallic tone she's had for such a long time while belting is gone. She literally sounds like her Music Box-Charmbracelet tour self, with the buttery, irresistible tone that we all fell in love with. I am so impressed with Mariah. I love this woman. This video proves that we should never ever doubt her vocal ability. Ever. Bravo, MC.

"News" (53,565) by LC from USA
I'm really hating how certain "news publications" skew quotes and use selected pieces of "evidence" to paint Mariah in a negative light. Like this article in the Mirror. Readers are supposed to judge the way Mariah sounded based on freaking Jennifer Lopez? We are supposed to judge the way Mariah sounded by the opinion of a woman who, on her best days, couldn't even sing as good as Mariah did at the beginning of the TECS tour? Really? And since when are the opinions of Twitter nobodies accurate and unbiased bases for judgment? It's just so fucked up. Why didn't they report the fact that she was in Billboard's Top 10 performances of the night? That almost every news publication outside of theirs praised Mariah's incredible vocal performance? It was the same for Vegas. She got glowing reviews from everyone, yet that one negative NY Times review is used as the only piece of evidence for Mariah's opening night. It's really disgusting. Yet Jennifer Lopez gets endless praise for everything. What has Hollywood come to? Sorry for the rant guys. Just needed to vent. I feel much better now. PS, Mariah sounded absolutely amazing on Jimmy Kimmel. She slayed. End of story.

Mail Online interview (53,139) by LC from USA
That was one of the best Mariah interviews I've ever read. I don't think we've ever really heard Mariah talk about some of this stuff, and I literally almost cried. Even when she joked about the weight she's gained. This is the most emotionally touching interview Mariah has given in so long, and it makes me so sad to know what she's been through. It makes me even sadder to know how much we as fans have criticized her in the past year. With everything from her voice to petty things like how she looks; everything we have criticized, she has too. Probably moreso. She has been going through so much. And this is just the surface of it all. Who knows how difficult that divorce really was on her? How insecure she still is about her appearance? How the backlash over her vocals has affected her self esteem? We never will. This is exactly why all of us need to support Mariah again. She is going through one of the most difficult periods in her life, and I hate to sound sappy, but, she needs us now more than ever. It seems like she's finally breaking through, but that pain will never go away. I really hope that she knows that there are millions of fans out here who love her and will continue to support her, through good times and bad. I know she'll make it. I wish Mariah the best always. This is so heartbreaking.

Disgusting (53,056) by LC from USA
I'm really wondering what it'll take to please some of you so-called fans. You say she's destroying her legacy, yet every review, except one, has praised her, saying that she put on an incredible show and that she is "back". Everyone in the audience loved it, as they gave her multiple standing ovations. Also, Infinity has been getting raves from the public. Yet, here you guys are. Bitching as usual. Mariah is trying to re-establish her image to the public and giving her all to come back, yet here you ungrateful shits are saying that she needs to do more. More? What the hell else do you want? You hate her lipsyncing? Mariah has been lipsyncing since 1997. Accept it or leave. Just leave. No one is asking you to continue to wallow in your eternal disappointment. I'm a young lamb, yes, but even I know not to expect 90s level vocals coming from a 45 year old woman who has been through hell and back and is still the greatest singer in the world. No one can sing like Mariah Carey even today. What do you guys want? You want her to achieve the impossible and suddenly sound like it's 96 again? Wake up. Put on your earphones and listen to the Daydream tour and album if that's what you want. Get over yourselves. You are the ones trying to ruin her legacy by consistently being negative. This messageboard is supposed to be a community where fans can feel good. And now, I almost dread coming here. I'm just happy that Mariah is still making music even with such ungrateful fans. Ugh.

Baby / negativity (52,734) by LC from USA
Thank you so much for that message. I literally choked at "go choke on a bag of Fritos". That was great. I respect you so much for the entire message. I also wish people would stop with the negativity. Just because you think it's a terrible song, doesn't mean everyone does. Let's just be positive. Let's be grateful that after the mishandling of such an amazing album as Me. I Am Mariah, Mariah, her management, and her team seem pretty on top of things. I'm just happy that as a young lamb, I can finally see an era where Mariah will be on TV and in magazines and (hopefully) on the radio just like so many of you have witnessed multiple times. I wish that instead of bashing her, we just hope for the best and help Mariah to make her comeback. She needs her fans now more than ever. I hope you all feel the same.

I'm sorry I'm responding so late, I haven't been visiting the board as often as I've been, really busy with school lately. But, I just want to thank you very much for your positive comments. I always respect what you have to say on this board and it means a lot to me that you and other Mariah fans took the time out of your days to vote for my essay, and give me positive feedback. Thank you very much. And also, I feel like Mariah's lyrics have definitely influenced my writing lol. I even managed to use her song titles and lyrics in essays I write for school. I wrote one entitled "Having a typical emotional upset" and my teacher loved the title, though I did have to explain it to him and my friends who asked. Anyway, I just want to thank you all again. It really means a lot to me.

Request (52,577) by LC from USA
Hi everyone, this is LC. This post has nothing to do with Mariah but I just wanted to ask you all for a huge favor. I'm going to college next year and I need scholarship money to help pay for tuition. If you have the time, please go to this website to vote for my essay. The deadline to vote is tomorrow (May 1) and though they do select an additional 10 candidates besides the top 10 most voted for, every vote helps. Please help a lamb out if you can and vote for my essay. Thank you all to Infinity. I hope we can Make It Happen.

Infinity (52,441) by LC from USA
I think it's really interesting and surprising to see the overwhelmingly negative reviews of the song on here. So far, blogs, major news publications, and the general public (non lambs) have been raving about its "nostalgic", "throwback" sound and Mariah's "signature vocals". They're even calling it a return to form for Mariah. It's top 25 on iTunes, with no promotion, #1 on Billboard's Real Time Trend Chart, #1 on Twitter's worldwide trends, and #4 on YouTube's trending/popular now videos, which means it's definitely getting buzz from the public. I never thought I'd see the day when the public likes the song more than the lambs. Not saying it's a bad thing. I mean, personally, it took a few listens for me to start liking the song because I was thrown off by the overwhelming production and Mariah's enunciation, but I never thought it was a bad song. I really don't see where some of you are hearing "terrible" vocals or "horrid" lyrics, though. That is a mystery to me. I think that it will definitely be a song that grows on me and I can see it being a hit. I hope that we can all still support the song, though. Don't we all want to see Mariah on top again?

Infinity (52,267) by LC from USA
I honestly cannot wait until Infinity's release tonight because it seems like Mariah is excited for us to hear it, which means, hit or not, it's a song that she loves and is connected to. And the positive reviews so far definitely add fuel to my excitement. Anyway, to the fans concerned that there is no radio deal or that the official music video will not be released tomorrow, here's my opinion on the matter: I think this is a good thing. As seen with #Beautiful, a radio deal doesn't mean longevity. The song peaked at 15 and, although it went platinum, it was definitely not the hit it could have been. Also, I'm happy the official music video will not be released tomorrow. What she needs is a creative lyric video, not just the audio on Vevo, to stimulate interest in the fans and the public. Once the momentum has started, assuming Sony has a plan for Mariah and Infinity, then they can drop the music video. Also, if the music video dropped tomorrow, there would be nothing else to look forward to. Waiting for the video adds more excitement. As seen with their promotional campaign so far, Mariah wants to be "hot" and "cool" again with the young crowd, and to, ultimately, achieve another historic number 1 hit. To do that, she needs to get creative again. She needs to be ready to fight for her position. But, above all, she needs to deliver with her music. That's what she's known for. And, judging from Mariah's newfound confidence, I doubt we'll be disappointed. Until midnight lambs.

#1 to Infinity (51,776) by LC from USA
At first I was a little disappointed that Mariah only included one new song on the compilation because it seemed like she would release more. However, I decided to look at the positive side of this release. It seems like LA Reid and Epic are marketing Mariah as the legend that she is, while showing that she can still make relevant, successful new music. This album is not just for the fans, the way MIAM was, but for the public. It's a reintroduction and a reminder that despite her missteps and setbacks in recent years, which have dented her image to many, she is still, without a doubt, one of the most successful and influential artists the world has ever seen. This album, along with her residency, is a slap in the face to IDJ and her detractors. It serves as a reaffirmation that she is Mariah Carey and that she deserves to be respected. Don't you think it's very gutsy to include "Infinity" in an album filled only with her 18 number 1 hits? Epic obviously has a plan for her and this single. It all depends on how well they execute it and how much Mariah wants to succeed. And as seen with the success of Reveal Mariah, which was a worldwide trend for 8 hours, I think Mariah's new team is pretty on top of things. Much more than IDJ. If "Infinity" is a huge hit, it will be the perfect way to come back. I really don't care if that sounds "insane" or too optimistic. I'd rather surround myself with happiness than with the shroud of negativity some of you seem to have. Be blessed.

No tell-all (51,531) by LC from USA
So, there's that. Nick just went on E. News during a red carpet interview for America's Got Talent and completely denied the tell all book allegations. When asked to dispel the rumors about it, he says, on video, that he is disappointed in the media and their perpetuation of negativity and that he is very happy with his family situation and he "doesn't know anything about any tell-all books or anything like that". So, to all those who were labeling him "Thirsty" and quick to destroy him, I think apologies are due. I'm glad they're amicable.

Infinity? New single name? (51,500) by LC from USA
A couple weeks ago, I saw an ATRL post of someone who said that according to a label executive, Mariah's new single would be an uptempo track named Infinity, and it would be released on April 27. Just a few moments ago, Mariah posted a picture on all her social media accounts of her with LA Reid and a person from her new PR team "The Chamber Group" next to a Sony sign, captioned #WeBelongTogether #Infinity. Could this mean that that person was telling the truth? Or is it just a coincidence? Whatever it is, I'm getting excited. I can't wait for this era to kick start.

Bill / Cindi (51,490) by LC from USA
I see where you're coming from, Bill. I guess I never looked at it that way. But, I think what I really wanted to say was that Cindi's way of representing Mariah to the public and the media might be dated. Like, in comparison to RocNation for example. You never see really negative wildfire stories spread about Rihanna or Beyoncé, but when they do, RocNation is quick to calm it down or stop the spread because they are newer and can battle social media. But, I guess the remedying would more the job of a manager. Thank you for telling me that. Also, I hope people don't think I'm bashing Cindi or anything, I'm not. I guess I'm just happy with the changes because it proves that Mariah definitely wants to succeed. She saw that Island Def Jam wasn't doing anything for her, she saw that Randy and JD were not compatible with her as managers, and maybe she saw that Cindi wasn't compatible as well. At least now we know that she is trying. That's all we can ask for.

Cindi Berger (51,481) by LC from USA
I honestly don't see this parting of ways as a bad thing. Let's face it. Mariah's image right now is the worst it's been since Glitter. She needs someone to come in an help her clean her image up. So far, Cindi has done nothing notable. And maybe it's because her methods are dated. She has been with Mariah for 15 years, but that was way before the social media age. Social media is the number one place for people to spread news. And, in my opinion, Mariah needs someone who is young and knows how to fight that social media backlash. As a young person who is always on social media, when Mariah's Rockefeller performance came out, I saw how quickly that spread. It went viral on YouTube, on Vine, was a trend of Facebook, was all over the social media accounts of every major news publication, and it spread all over the world. And outside of that, every performance is "Did she lip that? Was that live?" Or "she can't sing like the '90s anymore", every picture is "she is so photoshopped" or "she looks fat", every song is "she can't sing this live" or "this is studio manipulation". You'd think that a great publicist would be able to remedy that situation. Maybe with a few performances or interviews or something. But, nothing happened. So, let's hope that this move is actually helpful to Mariah and her career. I'm not saying that it is an amazing move because that's up to Mariah in the end, but, I know that she knows what she's doing. Go MC.

Easter pics / Nick (51,404) by LC from USA
Mariah looks beautiful and happy in that Easter pic she posted last night. However, did anyone notice that she removed her collage with Monroe from Instagram? I really don't know why she would do that, but I remember some of you discussing a long time ago how both Mariah and Nick have stopped posting pictures of their kids since the divorce announcement. So, maybe this is part of the conditions? I don't know. Anyway, about Nick. I really doubt that he'll write a tell-all. His whole image he tries to sell is "good, loving, fatherly, cool" and sometimes "gangsta" but we know that's because he's a G now lol. Anyway, seeing that that's his image, why would he ruin it with a tell all? He wants the public to like him and this would destroy his career. I can't imagine a man who's face is all over the New York MTA (I see it all the time) for St. Mary's children's hospital doing something so vile as that for the whole public to see. He loves his kids, he loves Mariah and, obviously, he loves himself, so I really doubt he'll do it.

Success / Jono, Bill, Abraham (51,336) by LC from USA
Thank you guys for all the positive responses to my comment. I'm happy that so many lambs agree with me about the overwhelming negativity some "fans" have been posting on here. It's really getting out of hand. But, let's move on from that. I trust that professional and experienced managers, promoters, label executives, personal trainers, makeup artists, and publicists teamed with one of the most prolific, successful, and best singer-songwriters of all time know more about the music industry and what will ensure Mariah's success than some "fans" who think they know everything. Am I worried/anxious for her, or concerned about some things? Do I wish she was doing more promo or trying to be more liked by the public? Do I want her to look her best for the upcoming shows? Yes. But, no one wants Mariah Carey to be successful more than Mariah Carey does. And I trust that she's doing her best. MC will succeed one way or another.

The "fans" (51,297) by LC from USA
I really don't understand some of the so-called "fans" on here. Like, everything you post is negative. From the voice to the weight to the looks to the promo to her fucking personality. What is going on with you all? You find negativity in everything. A fun, viral (nearly 5 million views) video of Mariah singing in a carpool turns into a video where she looks fat, doesn't sing well, and acts like a diva. The complete opposite of what the general public was saying, might I add. Taking a vacation with her kids before a long upcoming few months of performing and promoting her new album, single, and show, turns into Mariah being too lazy to do promo, getting obese (because she looks bad in a wetsuit), and acting like a complete diva for having her child carried (even if she suffered muscle loss and nerve damage to her dominant arm and still has to wear a sling sometimes). Has it occurred to you that the shows have sold out (according to lambs who called Caesar's Palace)? That the label and her management team have a plan and schedule for her? That she's been recording and writing like crazy and even has a new single/video already slated for release? That she's a 45 year old who gave birth to twins at 41 and will not look the way she did 5, 10 years ago? God, you guys are shallow. Call me an enabler, whatever you want, I don't care. I hope she succeeds, and when she does, what will you say then?

Mariah 2015 (51,228) by LC from USA
I feel like this era is gonna be full of excitement. Judging from her move to Epic, and her surprise radio appearance, it seems that Mariah and her team/label definitely have a pretty solid plan for her this year. We know that the new Number Ones album will be released in May, and since a new video has already been filmed, or is in the process, we know that the newest single will most likely be released within the next month. And, assuming Mariah knows that today's radio isn't for "You're Mine (Eternal)"-type records, she knows this has to be an uptempo radio smash. And, the Christmas movie and annual Beacon Theater shows show that Mariah definitely has a plan for the whole year. Eric Bradley, from Chicago's B96, and Mariah's dear friend, said that he was looking forward to a lot of exciting Mariah moments coming up soon, and even Mariah said that she was excited for all that was coming up in 2015. She and her label know where she stands right now, she knows that people are doubting her vocals, that she's seen as a huge diva and as "irrelevant" and "replaceable" by the general public. Is Mariah the type to let all that just happen? No. She will make a comeback. It may not be TEOM sized, but she will come back and she'll remind everyone why she is the songbird supreme. Get ready for a longtime coming return, lambs. Mariah is just getting started. I really want Mariah to slay this year, and as we can see, there is definitely a plan in place for her. But, what I want to see is Mariah really out there, being "cool" to the public, like Jennifer Lopez (dare I mention her name?), while also being acknowledged as a legend and having relevance on radio. It's hard for a female in her 40s to achieve that, especially in the digital age, but I think that if Mariah works really hard, she can do it. I want to see her doing funny skits on Jimmy Fallon and Kimmel, and Ellen, and showing her fun side to the public who should've seen it during Idol. But, above all, I want a reemphasis on Mariah's voice. Similar to TEOM, but more hardcore. It would be amazing if she appeared on shows promoting Number Ones by singing her new single, but by also singing Vision Of Love. Imagine that. Clearly, as seen in Jamaica, she is more than capable of singing this song in her current vocal state, and she has never lipped that song, so it would be undeniably live and it would show the public that she can still sing live. It would be like bringing her career full circle and celebrating her 25th anniversary. That's my two cents. Really, I'm just excited that I will get to see Mariah out and about and on TV and hopefully on the radio with new videos. Go MC.

Alternate perspective (50,179) by LC from USA
To the lambs who despise the "uber-positivity" some of us like to post here, I'd like to offer an alternate perspective. Most of you who are inspired to give the tough love to Mariah have been lambs for decades and have witnessed Mariah at her many peaks and valleys. You know the perfection she was capable of because you witnessed it firsthand. Some of us who are "uber-positive" have only recently become lambs. I'm still a teenager, and though Mariah's music has been a huge part of my life since birth, I only became a lamb during Memoirs; that's when I would search for interviews, watch old performances over and over again, and just try to find out everything I could about Mariah. And as we know, her eras have only gone down since. I never experienced a "Daydream" moment or an "Emancipation" comeback. I have really only been around for the many many setbacks. And I'm disappointed like the rest of us. But I'm still hopeful. I want Mariah to succeed. I want to live in an era where Mariah is ruling, like you did ten times over. I still think Mariah is capable of doing incredible things. This album is proof of that. I wish you guys would be just as hopeful because you have been there and you know more than I do what Mariah can do when she is determined. I know that a lot of the criticism comes from a good place, why else would you come to a Mariah forum? But, I wish we could just respect each other's opinions and as a lambily, continue to support Mariah and wish her success.

Mariah in Jamaica (49,556) by LC from USA

I know that most of you are preoccupied with her hair and her dresses right now, but I really don't think this Jamaica show was a complete disaster. It brought Mariah the vocalist and musician back to my eyes and ears. She was never a great performer, nor a fashionista, so I don't really see all the fuss. Also, she's been lip syncing Fantasy remix since 1997, so we know she can lipsync to it correctly. There was obviously a problem with the sound in her monitor, but I am not trying to convince anyone. Here, for the lambs that care, is a video of some, and only some, of her greatest moments during the show. I have not seen her belt this effortlessly since The Charmbracelet Tour, and I am so happy with her improvisations. She's obviously more comfortable performing all of a sudden, and I think we should applaud that, especially with the recent scandals and turmoil. She looked sexy, with the weight loss, and she sounded amazing. We asked her to change up arrangements, be more confident on stage, and slay effortlessly. Well, she did. I just wish you'd all be able to see that.

B / Abraham / Celine (48,963) by LC from USA
Thank you guys for the agreement/shoutout. And Abraham, I totally agree. One huge difference between Mariah and Celine, which is really what makes me cringe when they're put in the same category, is versatility. Celine got famous, and sold so many albums because for her entire career, she's catered to one audience: adult contemporary. Mariah, on the other hand, with her 18 number 1's has been so versatile and open to exploring other genres. Mariah's number 1's: half ballads, half uptempos/ midtempos. Celine's: all ballads. And that versatility is why Mariah is still relevant in the industry. Mariah is the only artist (besides Michael Jackson) from that time that has more than a billion views on YouTube (2 Vevo certified videos). And she's among the top 40 most followed accounts on Twitter. She's still relevant in today's social media ruled industry. Look at #Beautiful, it has 30+ million views, whereas "Incredible", Celine's single, has 5 million. Mariah doesn't deserve to be shoved into Vegas. She's bigger and better than that.
(Sunday 4 January 2015; 18:45)
Vegas / MC25 (48,948) by LC from USA
I don't know about you guys, but I think Mariah is still too relevant to do Vegas. Her name still carries a lot of weight in the industry with #Beautiful becoming platinum, being the highest paid TV judge in history, selling out stadiums overseas, MIAM selling nearly 300,000 copies worldwide with no promo, in a dying industry, and AIWFCIY selling and charting every year. Also, her divorce was among the most talked about topics on the Internet in 2014, being the top trending topic on Facebook for 48 hours when the rumors first surfaced. And of course, the Rockefeller performance. Going to Vegas would be Mariah willingly falling into irrelevancy with Celine Dion and Shania Twain. Mariah is better than that. Despite what some "fans" would say, Mariah still has an incredible voice and she is still a force to be reckoned with. Something tells me that this 25th anniversary will be special. Mariah's already losing a lot of weight (something she seems to do before every era) and like the Charmbracelet tour, she used TECS and the Christmas shows to clearly strengthen her voice and create buzz. Don't count her out. It's been 25 years, and I don't think Mariah will stop now.
(Saturday 3 January 2015; 20:29)
Andrew (48,690) by LC from USA

I think it's funny that you call people delusional for thinking Mariah's live voice today is amazing, when you expect her to do all the high notes without lip syncing to qualify as above average. We all see the problem. We're all fans, like you. But, as one of my best lamb friends has said, if you can't see anything good or "above average" in the Mariah today, while I and many of us can, who's loss is it really? We will enjoy ourselves, and still love Mariah's voice and music, while you can go and love the incredible and "above average" vocals of Taylor Swift. Bye. Also, if this isn't amazing, then I don't know what is.
