Great points. And now that you mention it, he was in charge of the Ciara project that produced a hit single but the album flopped bad. And come to think of it, I only like that Ciara "Body Party" song because of the sample that's used. That actually is a JD production, My Boo, which MC happened to use for the Hate U remix. You are absolutely correct. In that case I just hope MC goes independent and continues to release music for the fans. Because anyone who advised her not to release "Migrate" after " Touch My Body" is out of touch. That to me was the beginning of the end for "E=MC2" and "MOAIA" had so much potential especially after the release of two great remixes, "Angels Cry" and "Up Out My Face". And I didn't understand the US release of "IWKWLI" in promotions on tv, yes. But that song should've just been like an international release. The more I'm thinking about it, LA Reid just made me mad. Lol.

I hope MC goes with Epic Records with LA Reid. He is doing amazing things with this Michael Jackson project. Just imaging what he could do with MC.

And I wish folks wouldn't take the age she drew her self portrait so literal. She had to have been around 5 or 6 and I say that just based off the fact that she drew a pack of cigarettes and all of the spelling was correct. We all know MC is eternally 12 anyway. Lol. If I was to go into MK ultra conspiracy mode, they put MC on some powerful drug to put her in a child like state and that was the picture she drew. Lol.

You sound silly. So what is she going to do for the Today Show next Friday? She gonna go on stage and talk? Just because she's not doing what you think is right doesn't mean she "can't sing". I think Letterman said it best last night with his words of advice for MC. And I really hopes she listens. People on this messageboard sound like who she was talking about in her CNN interview.

I love the pic of MC with the match in her hand by the mic. That is how huge the small details are for her. I bet it is a sound effect at the beginning or end of a track. Yes. Thanks MC for taking all the time you needed. And she just twitted a pic with the caption, "Done". Only a few more weeks. She will be on David Letterman on 5.7.14.

MC Times Square (43,187) by clueey23 from USA
MC just shut down Times Square in NYC. I'm getting all of the "Maybach Moments" that I've wanted. That's what I'm talking about. I'm very happy with the beginning stages of this promotion for this album.

Me... I am Mariah (43,080) by clueey23 from USA
I am too excited. I know I'm not the only one like damn near in tears right now. The wait is almost over lamily. I know we don't always agree but we know we love is some MC. Might I add MC looks absolutely amazing on this album cover.

Billboard Music Awards (43,032) by clueey23 from USA
I need MC to open or close the Billboard Music Awards. They are on 5/18/14. And perform whichever song on the album that djs and the public are leaning towards. At the least I hope she is on the show.

The Today Show Toyota Concert series (43,021) by clueey23 from USA
They just announced that MC will kick it off 5/16/14. Something is just telling me that this era is gonna be something special at the end of the day. I just want MC to sing all new material. I don't wanna hear "We Belong Together" or "Hero" or anything from the 90s on this concert performance. Lol. I think that if she kinda moved away from huge songs from the past she would be able to draw more attention to the new material instead of deflecting with "Always Be My Baby".

I think this era has shown us a lot about MC's confidence in herself and this project, by taking all the time she needs and not letting anyone speed up her process to get to what may be greatness in this upcoming album. Some on this messageboard always try to create a back story to issues that may not exist. She doesn't really release bad material. Just because a song doesn't blaze up the charts doesn't mean it isn't quality work. That Billboard interview was done a couple of months back. You can't dethrone or discount MC. She is one of the best to ever do it. And I find it a bit comical and annoying that some fans think that she doesn't know what she's doing. She has been in this business like 25 years now. That within itself is nothing short of amazing. I think this will be my last post until after the album is released because you guys bring me down. This era, besides not having a hit single on the Hot 100, is very reminesant of the pre digital era. We had no idea what was going on behind the scenes back in the day. We were just excited to have a new MC album. "Charmbracelet" wasn't a hit album nor did it have any hit singles, yet, it's one of her most cohesive and personal albums. I couldn't really care less about who's not buying this album, that's their business. And I couldn't really care less about it selling crazy numbers or having a number one song on the charts, it's a plus but not a must. But it's going to have that signature MC quality I love.

Wouldn't the "Beyonce element" be that it's initial release is on iTunes? I don't know why they're labeling the release a "surprise" and then providing a release "timeframe". I guess just something to talk about. Any who, I've been listening to Butterfly and the material from 2012-2014, along with other current music of today. And I must say shuffled all together, it's amazing the way everything from almost 17 years ago sounds so timeless and current.

Canada ET / JD interview (42,871) by clueey23 from USA
That was a nice interview. How MC feels about Stevie Wonder is how I feel about MC. Like I have no expectations of her because she really is that great to me. And I also get what JD was saying about that nostalgic feeling of buying an album and also people buying the promotion these days. Hello, it's what's discussed on this messageboard day in and day out. Anticipation is at an all time high and I love it. I can't wait to hear the album, hopefully sooner than later. And some of you guys have absolutely no chill and it's annoying most of the time.

Hurricane Mariah (42,657) by clueey23 from USA
This all just seems like the calm right before the storm. I think MC is gonna come with that ether. A little less than 20 days left until it hits. At least that's how I would like to think about this silent period. Lol.

It's a shame what's going on with MCs label, but this situation is far different than Virgin and the Glitter situation. I personally don't think MCs career is in decline. I would think of someone like Lindsey Lohan when I think of a career in decline. If you all listen to YME you will have a better understanding of Nick and MCs relationship. That song is like an open window into their marriage. Marriage isn't an easy thing. I agree that before Nick and American Idol MC did have an untouchable aura about her. But since dem babies and even the marriage, MC seems soo much more grounded and down to earth. I like Nick and Mariah together, and their family unit. It's something to be admired. I just think people read into the wrong things sometimes. OAN, YME is in rotation on the local adult R&B station, 106.7. I think within the month we will see a jump in airplay with the pop and r&b hip hop stations playing the remix with Trey Songz. I would really like to think that the album will be released on May 6, 2014. There isn't a reason for delay.

I loved MC singing Happy Birthday to B.Scott. I wonder do some of you guys ever get tired of thinking something is wrong, when it's really not? It has to be draining to think negatively or to create drama and problems that don't exist. Any who, I'm very happy with the performance on the charts with YME. I told you all it hadn't even began to peak. I would think that even if MC has an exclusive deal with NBC it will be sufficient promotion for this album. Today Show, Ellen, Jimmy Fallon. I would really enjoy a showcase on Bravo, an interview and stripped down concert of new material and some of her favorites from the past, along with stories about the creative process of this album. Maybe we'll get a title on 3/27, who knows? OAN, I love the background vocals of YME. That acapella someone posted was everything to me, thank you.

The Ariana Grande conversations are so last summer. Why would MC make music like Ariana? MC has "been there, done that". Ariana can sing but she is short of amazing. I wish some of you would move forward with the times. I think MC has been very complimentary towards younger singers, older singers, and her peers. But the thing with Ariana not having her own style, that weak voiced cover of "Emotions" and "AIWFCIY" had me done with her. And then she performed "Tatooed Heart" on some award show and I loved it. But the formula that they're are using is MCs old one and they're not doing that great of a job. Seriously, I think that's where MC was coming from talking about longevity and agreeing with Jay-Z's statement, "Don't compare me to anyone." Because if anyone's being shaded it's MC. How dare people call this little teeny bopper Nickoloden kid the next MC because she can do a few runs and hit a couple of whistle notes? And honestly, I don't like her high notes, they're not great. AG has a lot of growing to do. Hopefully one day she'll find her own style and voice. Now MC did shade Nicki Minaj, but for obvious reasons.

I believe she was referring to Walter A. on Bravo. When she talked about writing the song and Walter A. coming up with an idea for a chord change or something. Just YouTube it and correct me if I'm wrong. The interview with Andy Cohen was perfection in my opinion. MCs interviews as of late have been if anything, informative.

Issac / other thoughts (41,967) by clueey23 from USA
Why would MC work with people that have burned her or rubbed her the wrong way during the creative process in the past? Walter A knows he was wrong for taking 50% of "AIWFCIY" and if memory serves me correct Diane Warren really didn't want to collaborate. And they had creative differences. Thank God, MC and Walter fell out when they did because I wouldn't want the Butterfly album to sound any different. Seriously, who would've known so many people don't like Brandy or MikeWill's production quality. But any who, I know I wouldn't want to work with people that want to have more of a creative say so than me, the artist. MC is an R&B artist that just so happened to be a pop star (popular star). How do you think MC would've faired had she been the one to sing "Happy" the #1 song in the country? Just another thought, when MC said she hadn't heard "Drunk In Love", I believe her because when you're in a creative space listening to current records could lead you to jock and not even realize where the inspiration came from. Glad MC turns off the radio to create.

I know we're fans but I'm still obsessed with Brandy's "Two Eleven". You can have an amazing R&B album, and it's not gonna sell like hot cakes. I don't know if you all have Brandy's last album from 2012, Two Eleven. She worked with some of the people MC is currently working with and I'm excited. The MikeWill joint, "Do you know what you have?" is one of my top 5 on the album.

The Tanning of America (41,957) by clueey23 from USA
I really enjoyed MC in the "Tanning of America" on VH1 last week. She has such great insight into things I'd never known before. Awesome documentary if you all ever get a chance to catch it. I just ordered the book and can't wait to read it.

I love the way folks on here talk about MC as if they know her or have known her personally. I live for the way, even when the words come out of MC's mouth herself, her words fall on deaf ears because people seem too worried about the wrong things. I love the way people act like MC voice is torn to pieces and she'll never ever be commercially successful again or sing live. I love the way some people on this board seem to have no clue about the reality of anything in the music business but seem to have all the solutions. Try this on, MC is 44, the 90s are over and she has a right to make and create the types of things she wants to create, she's earned that, look at the stats. Even though this current era may not be your favorite so far, but why are you knocking her for being her and doing her job? No one on this earth is perfect. MC has been lipping and dubbing performances since 1995. Get over it. She's always been a studio artist, she has always said that is her comfort zone. Who is a more active "diva" in her 40s than MC? I'm just thankful that radio has embraced her and her singles. #Beautiful and YME. Even Triumphant got some radio play back in 2012. I personally don't hear 2000s when I hear YME. I don't hear WBT at all. YME is something totally different. And the remix with Trey Songz actually sounds organic. He actually, with those harmonies and adlibs put soul into this record.

Thoughts (41,940) by clueey23 from USA
I just don't think MC has anything to prove to anyone but herself. And I don't think YME has peaked.

I loved the BET Honors performance. I don't actually think she was lip syncing and if she was, who cares, I'm over it. I wish the song would get picked up on radio. But on the stations where it should be played here Beyonce is taking all the airtime. Lol. Seriously, like 5 songs in rotation and that's including the JayZ "Part ll". So at this particular point I'm just looking forward to the album. I'm not gonna knock MC because she has done so far everything that I've wanted. Next would be to make the rounds on tv shows and sing the song live. I agree that she could've done some amazing ad libs on BET. I was actually thinking about the lack of adlibs on the studio versions. If there is one thing about the record that I don't like, is the lack of adlibs.

Andrew / thoughts (41,501) by clueey23 from USA
I think MCs actions would annoy me if she wasn't just being herself. This isn't a job interview so cut that comparison. When you're being interviewed and one of the people interviewing you is asking about your sex life and another is saying they "didn't know you had ass". How can you even ask for MC to be serious. How could you not love how relaxed she was during the MTV interview with Sway. As long as MC is alive I just wanna appreciate her contributions to music. I don't care about all the stuff that people seem to be stressing out over. It seems she will never be able to satisfy a select type of her "fans". People on here are like, "MC should've brought Tupac from the dead instead of doing the song with Trey Songz." We all know the best are the most unusual. As long as MC isn't changing her face with plastic surgery and covering her kids with blankets, she's alright in my book.
