Thoughts (41,485) by clueey23 from USA
Has anyone ever watched JD, MC and Stephan Hill in the studio during the recording of "E=MC2"? That is the real MC. When she talks about pink road cases. It's not that MC doesn't know how to act, it's that people take everything so serious. It's just not that serious, the word "dahling" isn't a bad word. It's just a nod to old Hollywood and glamour. And once you stop taking everything she says or does so serious, you'll begin to enjoy MC again. I personally think MC is more down to earth than a lot of other entertainers. I've enjoyed the interviews thus far. And I haven't cringed once or thought twice because she seems more real and honest and down to earth than ever before. It's refreshing. I'd rather have her ramble and me learn and hear something I haven't before, than hear the same cookie cutter questions and answers.

You're Mine (41,398) by clueey23 from USA
The song hasn't even impacted radio yet. It's been out for like four days at this point and people on this messageboard are already calling it not a hit. Yet, critics and people seem to like the song. The song won't impact radio until the 18th. With MC all over the place with promotion she'll get her spins, especially with the Trey Songz remix. I forget who broke down the concept of the video but I thank you.

You're Mine (41,283) by clueey23 from USA
Yes, RJJ12, so many "Maybach" moments. With more to come. But I agree, she's given me everything I asked for and more with this single release. I notice that people need to watch interviews and watch videos and listen to the song a bit more. Like live with this release for a minute. It's been two days and folks are already complaining about this and that, in which they contributed nothing. I've found the interviews to be real and down to earth. The Breakfast Club interview was more of the real MC, IMO. The song hasn't even made its impact on radio yet. People act like the iTunes charts are the end all, be all. Obviously, once we get these live performances on day and night programming the sales and also spins will increase. Everyone I know who has heard this song and the remix, love it. And not lambs, the regular Joes that don't know a play by play of MCs music career.

New single (41,048) by clueey23 from USA
I love this song. I listened to the live performance from BET Honors. She sounds fantastic.

BET Honors (41,018) by clueey23 from USA
Mariah looks amazing! I'm reading that the song is great and she tore down the stage at the BET Honors. I can't wait for The View and 106&Park. And yes, I'm getting the Maybach moments. This shot of her on this piano is everything. She is giving me and all of you life right now.

Single/album release (40,949) by clueey23 from USA
I want MC riding around in a Maybach with the windows down blasting the new single on 2/14. Also, a release date for the album. And when the album drops I need a listening party at an Apple store in NYC and LA. I need every major publication online and hard copies to talk about the single and album. I need radio to go bananas for the new single. I need the video to be ready to be released the day the song drops. I need an interesting story line from a major director. Give me something amazing that will have everyone in love with MCs music again. I can not wait. I need her vocals in my ear. "The Art of Letting Go" still excites me when I listen.

Obsessed / thoughts (40,899) by clueey23 from USA
I love "Obsessed". I think it was cool for a female to come hard like that to Eminem without being a rapper. Like that whole song to me, shut the whole Eminem situation down. It was a perfect hit song at the time. "It must be the weed, it must be the e, cause you be popping hood, you get it popping." Lol. My favorite live performance was in NYC, I remember it streamed. But MC dips down when she sings the line, "ain't gone feed ya, I'mma let ya starve" and puts that bravato on "starve". I loved the "Memiors" album though, it was grown and intimate in a way. I love every song on that album. And seriously wish they would've treated it right. The remixes from that album that were fantastic, "Hate U" "Ribbon" with Ludacris and The Dream and "inseparable" with Trey Songz are my favorites. Wish would have gotten the "Angles Advocate". I wish we could've gotten it for free or just released. And they should've promoted "Angles cry" with NeYo and "Up out my face" with Nicki. Like the songs should've been on radio. That's when I begin to realize radio sucks and only focuses on certain songs and artists. "Up Out My Face" video I still watch it to this day. MC reminds me of a politician that wants to do so much, but can only do so much because her hands are tied.

Taco Bell (40,891) by clueey23 from USA
Standing in line at Taco Bell and "Open Arms" comes on. I think this is fantastic because normally I only hear the original version of this song in public.

You and I (40,889) by clueey23 from USA
"You and I" is one of the most beautiful loves songs I've ever heard. "Talking Book" is my favorite Stevie Wonder album of that era. MC was amazing that night. I love the undubbed version so much! Please everyone listen to the undubbed version. I love the blending in the background in that performance. It kinda sounds like Stevie in the backgrounds. I can listen to this all day and night. And I agree, this is one of her best cover moments ever!

Isacc / thoughts (40,842) by clueey23 from USA
Who cares? Justin and Beyonce are very talented and I own all of their albums. But the albums never live up to the hype. Lets put it this way, I'm more entertained by them and less inspired. They come off as manufactured products to me sometimes. To each his own. For example, Beyonce opening up the Grammys, was that to inspire children to be "drunk in love" while wearing barely anything? Not to mention the number of artist that aren't heard because radio and media are paid to only focus on certain individuals. I never said I was better than anyone. But you implied that you are by calling people "non-factors". I just thought maybe you should listen to Nas and learn more about his contributions to music before you state he's irrelevant. And by me saying, "shame on you", don't take everything so serious because none of this that's being discussed is that deep. Jennifer Lopez to me, in my eyes is a fashion icon, not a music icon. On another note, I'm glad MC has worked with Wale because his lyrical content isn't young minded, and he knows how to incorporate real instrumentation into his music. Listen to "Sabotage" from his "Ambition" album. Also, listen to his "Attention Deficit" album. I honestly care more about the message of the music than the image (hair, nails, and clothes) of any real artist. But for some reason the artists look and everything is surpassing what actually matters, real musicianship.

Random (40,822) by clueey23 from USA
I just thought about it, Maxwell and MC were label mates on Columbia back in the 90's. I really hope that they collaborate.

Nas / the album / style / Issac (40,821) by clueey23 from USA
I just wanna say Nas will never ever be irrelevant. Just like MC, he is a timeless artist. Even his latest album is full of real instrumentation and great lyrics, a classic. Listen to "Cherry Wine" with Amy Winehouse. That is the type of collaboration MC needs and I'm sure wants. It's classic and classy. The most relevant artists of today are over hyped and Justin is one of them. Beyonce is another. And I think once we get the album from MC we will all hear why. I think this album, regardless of hairstyle, will be a masterpiece to sit next to Butterfly. I personally don't want MC to be singing a whole bunch of pop songs in the vain of Rainbow or E=MC2. I'm too old and she's too old for that right now. And I know there are people that don't care for "The Art of Letting Go" but it's a step in the right direction, especially what we saw and heard in the promo clip back in October 2013. I hear growth from MC with each album. I agree that MC needs to consult with a stylist like the "Mimi" era, Andre from Vogue and June Ambrose was another stylist she has worked with in the past. But again I always remind myself MC isn't a style icon and she has never ever needed to be, save it for people with less musical talents like Jennifer Lopez. MC has always been the artist that would have the perfect dress on with the wrong shoes or vice versa. lol. Issac do your research before you talk about music legends on this board. I can't believe you said he's irrelevant, shame on you.

Duets / number of songs (40,739) by clueey23 from USA
The only duets I can think about are Stevie Wonder and Maxwell. They are two of my favorite male vocalist besides Luther Vandross and Brian McKnight. It's random, but I also like Eddie Kendricks from The Temptations. Lol. Justin Timberlake and Usher would bring in the numbers though. I think "How Much" is so underrated, and if that song had been a single back then, it would've been #1. MC and Usher sound great together. It would be interesting to hear MC and MJB on a track. I was also thinking about how many tracks this album is going to have. I would love 18. It's been soo many years since a regular studio album, I would actually love a trilogy, like The Weeknd. Can we just get 3 albums with 10 songs on each album? Lol.

Children's book and throwback pic (40,738) by clueey23 from USA
I love the fact that MC and Nick are creating a children's book. Also I came across this pic. Throwback from 2005!

"The Art of Letting Go" (40,737) by clueey23 from USA
I love the album title "The Art of Letting Go". I honestly don't think "Triumphant" is going to be apart of this project. And I wish people wouldn't act like the song "The Art of Letting Go" was a commercial single. It was more like a promo for the album. "#Beautiful" was a commercial single and got such treatment. Only a few weeks left until a new commercial single, I can't wait! I agree with Edward, that everything should be ready to go. I don't want to wait a month for a video. And I really hope that radio supports this project to the fullest. I also hope and pray that the album is critically acclaimed as well as commercially successful. I think it would be cool if MC did some type of tv special on one of those music channels or Bravo. Also, an interview with Oprah's "Next Chapter". And of course all of the day and night tv programming on ABC, CBS, and NBC. But most of all, I don't want a "Bye Bye" after a "Touch My Body". Seriously, still wondering how "Migrate" slipped through the cracks. Every time I hear it, I have my own video concept in my head. Lol. What do you guys think about a Wendy Williams interview? I think it would make for great tv.

Cover (40,695) by clueey23 from USA
I don't want a Whitney cover. Maybe a sample perhaps, but a whole Whitney song? I would something like she did with the Jodeci sample on "Impossible" or "Back in The Day" in "Candy Bling". But a whole WH song, I couldn't do it and I honestly think MC has way more respect for Whitney's legacy than to cover a whole song. Same thoughts with Minnie, maybe a subtle sample like she did on "I Wish You Only Knew" with the Denise Williams "Silly". Glad this is just all speculation and fun.

disrespect (40,590) by clueey23 from USA
It's so easy for people to talk crazy over the Internet. They wouldn't even have the breath to say some of the things to MCs face. Because seeing MC in person, she is absolutley breath takingly beautiful. Television and pictures rarely do her justice. Also, some folks just have nothing else to do but talk bad about others. It's sad how negative people can be. Instead of focusing on the charity, they focus on anything else. But I honestly, I do wish she didn't make us wait all that time. Especially when she tweeted, "one moment darlings", I thought we would have gotten a date for the album due in the spring. But whatever, I still think the diamonds and ruby heart necklace is an awesome gift for a true lamb. Because she could've easily handed that necklace down to her daughter, Roe.

Re: Mimi (40,556) by clueey23 from USA
Besides your criticisms of my post and ideas, what is your idea? Do you have any thoughts about a tour title and a set list? It's all for fun, something that this board tends to forget how to do. All I tend to see on this board time and time again is just people attacking each other. I've been coming to this site for over a decade and the conversations have become so uninspired.

New game (40,551) by clueey23 from USA
I don't know how many times we've listed our favorite albums and songs on this board, but what about a new game. What would be your dream tour? I think it should be simply called "The Art of Letting Go Tour, an Intimate Night with Mariah Carey". I would like her to play smaller venues, clubs and theaters at the beginning of her tour and let it grow from there. And on certain dates she has guests. For example, instead of Always Be My Baby original, she got Xscape and Brat to do the remix with her one show.

Announcement (40,550) by clueey23 from USA
Yes, disappointed! I thought adding the necklace to the grand prize was a touch of class. You know MC could've kept that necklace and gave it to Roe, so I just think it's cool that she thought to give it to a fan. But if you read my post from yesterday about the announcement, I was one of the fans hoping for music news. On another note, does anyone think releasing the video a week before the single release could be a good marketing tool? Like a week before 2/14 MC releases the video for the single to get the promotion train going, instead of waiting for the visual? Do you all think there is a little of a disconnect between MC and us (fans)?

Announcement (40,535) by clueey23 from USA
With MC being a "citizen of the world" what time are we gonna get this "pip" announcement? What could it be? Single title? Single snippet? Wouldn't it be awesome if she changed the album release date, moved it up instead of pushing it back. Shakira and Rihanna released a song today and it was yikes. I didn't care for it, at all. Has anyone seen the video clips of MC performing from NYE in London? I enjoyed it. Thoughts?

Charmbracelet (40,521) by clueey23 from USA
Charmbracelet for me personally was MC's comeback. Not that she went anywhere. But the album was the complete package. And the promotion was through the roof. She was all over the country and the world promoting that album. All over television promoting. But in America they always screw her with horrible single choices. Okay, we needed "Through the Rain" but they jacked the whole thing up by releasing "Boy" instead of "The One". "You Got Me" should've been a single. Period. Lack of radio support nailed the album to the floor. If you don't have radio on your side, you're screwed. I think the Charmbracelet tour was amazing though. So intimate and vocally amazing. The band intro was just one of my favorite elements of the tour. Not to mention MC was just so effortlessly amazing and sexy. But that was over a decade ago. But I do want her to incorporate songs like "Yours" in future concerts.

Billboard Hot 100 (40,519) by clueey23 from USA
Did anyone notice that in 2013 there wasn't an African American artist to hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100? Seriously, unless they were a featured artist. TI, Rihanna, and Pharrell. Just a thought. It all comes down to radio and what they choose to play or what they are paid to play. I really hope MC can hit #1 on both the album and singles chart, now that I've noticed the trend of last year. Did #Beautiful peak at #2 on the Billboard r&b singles chart?

Re: Mimi era (40,517) by clueey23 from USA
During the "Emancipation of Mimi" era radio was also eating MC up. "It's Like That" with that Run DMC sample was loved at Hip-Hop and R&B stations. We all know that every single format was playing "We Belong Together" for months and then "Shake It Off" came right when Kanye released "Gold Digger". I thought "Shake It Off" was gonna replace "We Belong Together" and then I remember I was actually on this message board when "Don't Forget About Us" video premiered one November morning on MTV. "Say Somethin'" really didn't get the airplay it deserved but by that time MC had the best selling album of 2005. Also, "Fly Like a Bird" on Urban A/C was a nice treat. But notice MC had radio in her corner. Now we are just happy to have her songs on the radio sometimes. So not only did she promote the records on tv, she had radio as the most powerful tool in selling an album. Because if you notice radio stations have like 12 songs that they play each hour. If MC could become one of those 12 songs we should be good. Even though #Beautiful was a hit, it still didn't get the full out radio play that it needed from all the stations. Do you think if MC said "surprise" and released the single to radio and dropped the album on 2/14/14. How do you think it would do with the same promotion techniques from 2005? I just want IDJ to back her 100% again. Also line the pockets of these radio programmers like everyone else.
