Is such an influential song. It singlehandedly changed the pop music landscape. It is one of the best Mariah song imo.

That was hilarious. That run is really funny and weird but endearing at the same time [...]. That ad should get viral lol. I was amazed when I saw her then I cracked up when she ran. She definitely goes into that weird runner category lol. It was really cute. I love the ad.

I prefer E=MC2. However, imo Memoirs is more cohesive overall, while E=MC2 felt like a greatest hits album. Both are great albums imo. I live for Up Out My Face though. The Lego lyric was epic.

I apologize if I said something wrong. I thought Mariah is beautiful with or without boobs. But I heard my mom's friends talking about bigger boobs, and I heard big boobs could cause some back pain because it's heavier. I don't really know though since I don't have boobs.

I agree with you until you got to discuss the vocal surgery. Saying that it doesn't have any impact to her is 100% untrue. I would say it could do miracles to her voice. Her belting will become much more elastic and brighter and easier to access, and her lows would probably be better as nodules provide a constant opening at the vocal cords, preventing them from totally closing. I'm more concerned about her whistles tho.

Me too. From what I heard you can get back pain from boobs that are too big. But then knowing how she flaunts dem boobies all the time, I don't really think she would do it. Yes to the vocal nodules removal though. If she does the vocal surgery, she would need to learn the whistling technique though. Whistling involves a certain muscular coordination that makes the vocal cords form a really small hole. She would need to rehabilitate her vocals and train her belts too. It's a long way but it could be the only chance she truly recaptures the vocal prowess of her youth.

It might never happen lol but I think their voices go together well. Both have hip-hop flavored vocals. Idk though.

The dream. Besides the Beyoncé collab. Mimi L, I remembered the scene when there's this huge Mariah portrait. It was featured in a sex scene so it's really awkward lol.

The diva rumor might be very overblown. There's no way Mariah could "ruin" Empire because it's a drama, not reality TV. American Idol is a reality TV show, so when people saw the feuds they thought that the show has no essence anymore, as if it's centered on the feuds. Mariah just needs to amp up her acting prowess and if the diva acts are true, she needs to stop those because it could ruin the damage control she's done during the past few months.

Jamaica is actually good. It's just that the lip syncing issue with Fantasy just got so overblown. When I watched the Jamaica concert I was biting my pillow waiting for Honey because I heard she sang a remix there. I was so excited because I thought it was the radio mix with the rappers (I forgot their names lol). So I was kinda let down when it was their So So Def remix. I'm starting to love the So So Def remix but I still live for the Radio Mix.

True. When I listen to Butterfly, I feel like I'm reading her diary. It was true and genuine. Mariah always makes her best music by being honest.

More like, Andrew speaks his opinion and isn't afraid to tell his opinion. It's not necessarily "the truth" because not everybody will agree with him. Of course lambs will be sensitive when someone talks shit about Mariah. We prefer constructive criticism. There's a fine line between constructive criticism and talking horseshit. Imo, you crossed it so many times I don't even know if you're a lamb or not.

I think I get what you meant with "ghetto mess". I do feel like recently MC tries a little too hard on recapturing her hip-hop audience. But then again, I would consider her music post-1994 as urban. So I think she's trying to win back her old fans. If she wants to recapture the hip-hop audience, she should release something raw and tasteful, like Breakdown. Then again, I want her to make music that is true to her heart and completely satisfies herself. Daydream, Butterfly and TEOM happened because she made music that truly satisfies her and true to her heart.

Looks gorgeous. I prefer her going natural that way instead of the usual makeup. It makes her look much younger to have the natural look. Seriously.

I know she can make it. She just needs to work harder for it. If Cher can get the biggest hit of her career at 51, why can't Mariah have it at 45? I'm happy that a lot of music execs are rooting for her.

Most straight guys thought Infinity had that glittery-tinkering instrumentals (I thought about that too when I first heard it lol). I'm straight and I'm not into Infinity but that doesn't mean no straight guys will like Infinity. I prefer that Mariah release something that is kinda more like Stay The Night, etc. Again, sexual preference doesn't dictate musical preference.

Couldn't have said it better. I remember her telling that Infinity is a mix of Emotions, Vision Of Love, Obsessed and some other songs she mentioned. I can't wrap my head around it. I would prefer if Mariah plays secretive about new music because you know, suspense. Mariah should review her past songs that have been fan faves. Find out what made them special in our hearts. Then craft a song that has that special essence in it. It doesn't necessarily have to be in the same genres and structures though.

Wow I really didn't expect someone to suggest this collab but as I imagined it in my mind, I get so giddy lol. I think it's a really unexpected collab a la Fantasy Bad Boy Remix. It would be mindblowing especially with such a versatile artist like Mariah. If it happens I would be ecstatic.

I think it depends. If the legend who has an impressive catalog suddenly records bad music (to the legend's standards) constantly, then the said legend could tarnish his or her legacy. However, in Mariah's case, only very few of her songs are sub-par to her standards. I don't really like Infinity, but then again it's at worst decent. Mariah's worst songs are at worst, decent. There's not one song of hers that commits a serious crime musically. The worst you can get is just probably patchy production or "immature" (I prefer to call it playful) lyrics. I let my friends listen to Infinity and they said that it's a really good song. When I told them that it wasn't her best they were surprised, so I let them listen to Breakdown, Underneath The Stars and Vanishing. They turned into lambs lol.

The biggest (56,198)

I know some of the lambs here are with Mariah since the 90s, so I'm really curious. Which Mariah song was the biggest on radio during the 90s that you could remember? Because the last time I heard Mariah on radio was AIWFCIU in last year's December.

Evolution (56,177)
by darrian liu from taiwan
| |
|
|
I don't want Mariah to chase new trends to score a hit. I want Mariah the pioneer to come back. I want that Mimi that breaks new boundaries. Where is the Mariah Carey that invented the thug-love collabs? The one who made groundbreaking remixes, the one who created a sound that's the basis of almost every pop artist uses in their music? That Mimi would never make such an uninspired song like Infinity and its awful remix. I want her to take inspirations from those beautiful cities and places she visited with JP throughout summer. Combine all those distinct sounds from each city and create music that is true to her heart. Infinity was definitely not that kind of music. Now, if you're reading this, pioneer Mimi, please come back.

The vocals were decent but wasn't a showstopper like Beacon or the last days of Vegas. I can hear her voice drying out and more raspy than the July dates of Vegas. This really shows that Mariah needs to use her voice more regularly and really train her voice more seriously. There's not enough brightness in her belts and it could harm her voice. She needs to balance her mixed voice. It's a good show though.

Abstaining from alcohol helped loads. Alcohol dries out the vocal cords, that's why she sounded so dry during Memoirs and 2014 era. It also made her voice sound cracky (although I personally love it when she has cracks before her belts a la TEOM). Moisture is important for the voice, especially when you have nodules like MC.
