About Andrew from the United Kingdom: Banned forever!

Re: Number 1 in the 2020's (91,929) (91,942) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
I assumed you were arguing that if she I'd announced at Number 1 before New Years Day that means she is the first Number 1 before 2020. Which clearly she would not be. Anyway, must be my confusion.

Number 1 in the 2020's (91,925) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
"Additionally last week, Carey became the fourth artist with Hot 100 No. 1s in the 1990s, 2000s and 2010s, joining Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears and Usher. No act has ever logged time at No. 1 on the Hot 100 in four distinct decades, consecutively or otherwise; thus, if 'Christmas' is No. 1 on the chart next week (dated January 4, 2020), Carey would become the first artist to achieve the honor." Billboard

Is this not exactly what I was saying? The sales/streams have to actually occur in 2020 for it to count. That is, you may be named No. 1 on December 31 for having had the most sales/streams for the previous 7 days, but it is not a title that rolls over.

Ariana Grande (91,916) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Mariah promoting Ariana Grande singing along to Mariah's own song on Mariah's own channel? Now I've seen everything. What is going on this year? Genius.

And finally... (91,852) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Could there be anything more depressing than being a journalist charged with writing an "article" about a photograph of a celebrity walking down the street? "She has long hair on her shoulders. She's holding a hand of a man. The sidewalk is under her feet. She sings songs while people dance. Like, six people dance when she sings. She is breathing in oxygen. She exhales carbon dioxide. She has the right number of chromosomes to function. She shits once a day."

We should all aspire to be Daily Mail journalists. I am not sure any qualifications are needed other than a basic command of the English language. Or maybe I should take my happy pill today. It's an hour overdue. Lol Merry Crimbo everyone.

Re: Giving credit to Tommy and Walter (91,830) (91,851) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Lmao Adam, I love and have always loved you. But "Tommy Motorola" has clinched it. Haha.

Yes it is such the pitiful state of the world that you are demonized for not pledging full allegiance to ignorant ideologues. Anything less is considered "hate" - whatever that means. You are indeed not of good character unless you do the positive preamble; apparently. I used to think just being on this website was enough of a preamble. But it is not. Mariah is imperfect. And her career re-telling smattered with embellishments. That she frequently fails to mention Walter seems to suggest she wrote everything unaided. It is absurd. You only have to see young Mariah singing to him at a piano and saying "Oh yeah, that's good" when he feeds complimentary chords to know it is a false representation. To call him "Walter A" is uncomfortable at best. It's serves mostly to downplay his significance but any nob idiotic fan know how significant he was in her success and the success of many other artists he did not begging and end between Music Box and Butterfly (name one good ballad from Rainbow). She would not be here today were it not for his talent.

I don't doubt Mariah is a huge talent in her own right. She, of course, is truly unique and immense. It's why I love her. I saw it when I was 11 and love how I understood that which other people did not yet come to know. But she airbrushes history as easily as she does her photographs.

I am concerned for the memoir. I think many people will come out of the wordwork to label it false. The best memoirs have people confessing where they failed and acknowledging mistakes. People love vulnerability. I recently watched a video of Mariah almost suggesting Glitter the movie was basically misunderstood and now loved by people. Ludicrous. How can anyone be confident her memoir will not be anything other than another propaganda tool to paint herself in a positive light? It feels like it will be the literary equivalent of her frozen smile. However, she has made massive changes to her personality recently so there is still a glimmer of hope.

Anyway. Merry Christmas. Mariah has had a good one and I wish you the same. It was fun coming back here for the season. But it's still steeped in falsehood and stupidity. And lack of humour.

Happy Holidays.

New video (91,802) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Meanwhile back at the ranch, the new video for All I Want is out and it's pretty good. I'm not sure there's enough going on in it to make people restream a second or third time and I think there might be some comments about a possible camel toe but it's fun and professional looking.

It's been a pretty good Christmas for Mariah and Mariah fans. Happy Holidays everyone. Ciao.

Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,786) (91,789) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
You are the one bringing negativity here, somewhat ironically. A debate has indeed become a squabble.

I still don't believe you can claim to have a number 1 record in 2020 if the sales that achieved it were in 2019. But I realise and accept that it's the title that crosses over. Even if the sales do not.

Thank you for praying for me.

School? Enjoy the third grade.

Trying to be clear on a point that makes no sense to you is something you should ask your teachers about. It is helpful in understanding the world. As is dealing with your extreme emotions and trying to be rational and calm.

Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,754) (91,765) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Perhaps you are correct. Although it neither displeases me nor pleases me. So no need to apologise. I do not think it makes any sense. But if she is Number 1 *in* 2020 but didn't *achieve* that in 2020 and that is what people are going for then so be it.

I think the clarification has been made. I believed you had to achieve the Number 1 sales in said year. But if you just carry the title over regardless of sales you are still *technically* number 1? So be it. Just feels a bit like a... construction? Prefer Mariah to record a new Summer smash and take that to Number 1. Wait and see.

Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,744) (91,752) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Again, respectful disagree. The number one slot recognises completion of the previous week's sales as being the highest seller. The rolling first week of the next year is not the period for which the record has been achieved. Again, respectfully, I think this is clutching at straws. If this was Ariana claiming such a title I think people here would be quick to point out reality to the Arianators.

Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,738) (91,743) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Respectfully disagree. If I win an Oscar in 2019 I am not the winner in 2020 just because the awards are not until February.

Re: Billboard week of 12.28 (91,729) (91,732) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
You may be number 1 at the start of 2020 but that's a title earned in 2019. When you turn 1 year old, you are not "2" despite being in your second year. If that's a sensible comparison. Which with a bottle and a half of wine seems so.

Merry Christmas (91,638) by Andrew from the United Kingdom
Not sure this will make it, but let me fingerbang for fun.

I just watched the All I Want documentary and Mariah looks and sounds great. I've also seen the UK interviews and it appears she has returned to being someone I used to know. She is coherent, looks people in the eye, directly answers questions. What has happened? Can you reverse personality transplants? I wish passed friends were alive to see this.

All in all, if Mariah does not make Number 1 in the US and UK this year she probably won't do it ever again. But the push to get it done has been so phenomenal that if she misses it then there is no shame to be felt. She has done remarkably well. So much so that I hardly recognize her. She is professional and smart.

Mariah should have a Summer party album to unwrap for May lest she becomes the artist who is wheeled out every December and remembered only for Christmas. I sometimes fear her own Christmas song risks detracting from songs which are comparably as good if not better, e.g., Fantasy, et al.

Anyway, I wish each one of you Happy Holidays, a Happy New Year and, if we have never spoken, or we never speak again, a long and happy life.

Merry Christmas.
