Infamous (66,811)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

|

I got a chance to listen to the new song Infamous and I will say while I crave new Mariah music, but this is not it. I understand it has to fit into the show but it sounds very Memiors left overs with dated production. I know for sure that this is not where she is headed if she wants any chance of redeeming what is left of her legacy or any chance of making a decent showing on the charts with her next album. On a side note Jussie Smollett's voice is terrible and very whiney in my opinion and auto tune does not help.

Mariah and Walter (66,783)

I have to agree with most of you when you all say Mariah and Walter made magic together musically. But to be honest I doubt that we will ever see these two work together again and even though the fans will embrace it with open arms I think we should just should respect Mariah's decision to not work with Walter again because we do not know all that went on between them behind the scenes and how tense things became.

Miley Cyrus (66,777)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

|
|
This Miley Cyrus comment about Mariah is part our beloved Mariah's fault as her over the top demeanor and antics have become very offsetting. At the same time Miley is one to talk as all she is known for nowadays is her 2013 performance with Robin Thicke at the VMA's and weed smoking. Honestly I think Miley needed a target to promote herself being on the new season of The Voice. On another note she claims not to like Mariah yet she covers her Christmas song talk about hypocrite but if I took Miley seriously something is wrong with me lol. The same one who gave her last album away for free and it still bombed talk about jokes writing themselves.

This was another track I love from Butterfly. I love the Mariah/Missy writing chemistry and Stevie J and Mariah did their thing on production front.

Taking risks (66,432)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Established artists such as MC have to be very careful about what risks they are willing to take musically without pushing their faithful listeners away. The reason I say this is because Usher's new album is on track to sell 30k first with a hit on radio he went in the lean and B direction and it has cost him big time. While I want MC to work with new producers and co-writers to freshen things up she needs to keep some of her usual collaborators around for the purpose of that classic MC sound. Honestly JD did great work with YDKWTD, and MILG from MIAM if you ask me while Memiors was great as far as cohesiveness the production become stale very quickly. What MC needs at this point musically and creativitly is balance old school ballad MC with minimal production and singing, and some great fun mid and up tempos with memorable hooks.

Butterfly (66,348)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

|
|
Happy 19 birthday to a masterpiece of artistic expression. Not only did Mariah give us her heart and soul she gave us a woman on her own term and even though it was a huge gamble after the success of Daydream she was willing to take the risk and it worked. She gave us her signature Mariah anthems with "Close my eyes", "Butterfly", and "Outside" but she also gave us a further exploration of her latest creation the hip pop formula that is widely popular today with "Breakdown", "The roof", "Honey", and she also took us a magical where she was to showcase her talent as a songwriter and producer only to cerment her place as a true iconic legend. Happy birthday Butterfly you are truly one in a million.

Mariah's siblings (66,181)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
When it comes to the issue with Mariah and her siblings I feel like she should definitely forgive them and move on with her life. But trying to talk to them or help them in anyway is a lost cause because they will continue to treat her as they been and still sell her out dutifully. They look at Mariah as a meal ticket and nothing more and how much more can one give? Mariah has helped take care of Allison's children and has supported Mother Carey as well. To me in order to preserve some sort of sanity I say she needs to focus on her own self, and her children, and steer clear of both Allison and Morgan with their drama.

Musically (66,131)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Musically right now everything is all over the place what is considered hot today is what is considered a fad tomorrow. All I want from Mariah with this new music is quality on all angles. To me Mimi is at her best when she has direction I do not mind her working with her go to people but rehashing what has already been done will not work, also creating material that she will have a hard time performing live will not work, another problem that can occur is if her image and attitude are not in order this new era will not work. What will work is Mariah singing great hooks, melodies, and keep things simple. Also working with different producers, co writers that will make MC work her talent as an singer/songwriter/producer.

Bathtub moments (66,026)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
While I am all for freedom of expression, and while I am also happy Mariah has found some form of happiness and confidence again I do not need a naked look at me moment every chance she gets. All this is going to do is cheapen what's left of her brand and get people talking and not in a good way and this is not something she needs right now. But all in all she looks great. But it's time to give the world the classy meets sexy Mariah without looking cheap and desperate.

Vegas set list (65,689)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
I believe the organizers and promoters want to leave the show as is all the number #1's and Infinity while I am over this Vegas run as a whole I understand that things must be honored. I am ready for some new tunes but tunes that give us the MC we all love and also a MC that wants to step out of the normal cookie cutter box as a writer/producer and artist.

Hero (65,496)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

The very fabric of this song is about love empowering and uplifting the spirit not uplifting someone to reach their climax with NC's blabber mouth even if this is true or for jokes because he says he's a comedian he could've left that in the memory file as personal or just answered the question with a no comment or yes we have but the song selection is a personal moment between me and Mariah.

by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Nick needs to know when to keep things to himself regarding he and Mariah's personal life together. Also who knows who came up with the idea to have intimate relations to Hero it could have been a fantasy of Nick's to have intimate relations with MC with her songs playing in the background but whatever said case it's creepy and weird.

Company (Mariah's world) (65,141)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

While I may not understand the point of having two separate yachts, it's not for me to understand if Mr. Packer and MC are fine with it who I am to say what kind of relationship they have. My reality and their reality is different based on everything they do is up for scrutiny no matter if they have dinner for two or have fun on the yacht with friends and family. Do I agree with everything going on in Mariah's world nowadays? No but I respect that she has a right to live her life as she sees fit whether I approve or not. Now if we can just work on getting the image and product in proper order I am fine with that everything else is just Mariah's world.

Mariah has a right to label the experience on AI, however she's chooses the producers asked MC to join the panel telling her she would be the only female judge and knowing Randy Jackson was her friend and manager at the time the persuit for MC was even more aggressive I'm sure. To add another female and bickering was all for ratings as you see they did not put two female judges during any of the Jlo or Paula years by the time both MC and Nicki joined the panel the ratings were down the tubes and they needed something to draw interest in the show again.

Something's wrong (64,818)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
While everyone is entitled to their opinion I believe if MC's antics or sanity is out of control why hasn't Nick or anyone close to gone to court to ask that the children be removed from MC's care? While I feel MC should limit her alcohol consumption I see nothing wrong with her going out and having some fun. Most times many of us have said she needs to let loose and drop the diva antics. At this stage in the game no matter what MC does someone will always find something negative to say. I feel like this if she is happy and her children are not being harmed I say let this woman live her life trying to work day and night to make the fans happy and not making herself happy will only lead to another breakdown and that is definitely not needed for sake of Roc and Roe.

Ribbon B I have to disagree with you on statements regarding Nick because he was trying to get at Mariah fresh out of his relationship with Christina Milian. On another note Nick knew the status of Mariah's celebrity. Maybe if they did a little more dating and getting to know each other past six weeks maybe the results would have been different. But they gave it a shot and it did not work, at least they can say they got two precious gifts with the birth of Roc and Roe.

Physic (64,054)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Now everyone on this messageboard has physic abilities and can predict Mariah's happiness, give me a break people, we do not know this woman personally, we only know what the tabloids report or what we see while she's performing or out and about. We don't live with her or in her personal circle, I think we need to stay out of Mariah's personal affairs and focus on the entertainment aspect of things. On another note, if all you do is come here to discuss Mariah's flaws or speak negative about her, go somewhere else with that nonsense as this is a messageboard is where we come to give praise yet constructive criticism.
