About Gee from U.S.A. (New York City): Me and Mariah go back like babies on pacifiers.

So refreshing (64,015) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
It's so refreshing to see the majority of positive messages on the message board today. I am beyond proud of our girl and the show she put on at The Essence Music Festival 2016. Words can not begin to describe how overjoyed I am to see that our girl was able put on a show that was worthy of her status as a true diva and music icon. I am also glad she kept the diva attitude and antics in check. Kudos MC I am very proud of you. Now you keep on shining as only you can MC.

She came, and she delivered. Congratulations MC.

I get it (63,926) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Ok I get it, an overwhelming majority hated MC's club outfit. But all this assuming where her head space is or what is going to happen next is a bit much for me. Honestly this woman has given us so much where right now she can retire and say since I am no longer appreciated or all most of fans do is complain about everything I do why should I even record or tour anymore. Honestly MC has made the history books, toured, and lived her dream with children, and a soon to be new husband she can just hang up the mic and heels for good and I am sure a lot of us will be bummed. So I say let's appreciate our girl while we still can.

Choices (63,906) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
People life is about making choices and with those choices others can accept them or not. At this point Mariah is a grown woman and can do whatever she chooses as long as she is not breaking any laws or hurting anyone in the process. Do I agree with everything Mariah does? Absolutely not but I can either support it or not. As far as fashion goes, Mariah has never been considered a fashion icon. Does she have some great moments? Yes but her fashion has always been hit or miss even during her hay day. Honestly for me it's all about the music and live performances, everything else I can take it or leave it. Remember you can either support something or not.

I agree with your post. Amen.

Repetitive (63,737) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I have notice this message board has become a place of repetitive subjects about either Mariah's fashion, her voice, and the dreadful JLo saga. At this point these subjects have been beat like a dead horse can we find other topics to discuss or has this message board become that narrow minded? Honestly I am more eager to see where MC's journey takes us next rather than keeping on discussing the same subject matters that we can not change the results to. Have a productive day/night Archives family.

Randy / Kelly Price (63,317) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Yes you are correct, Kelly Price sang background vocals on early MC work along with MC herself, her sister (Sharnae Price) and the incredibly gifted Melonie Daniels-Walker. She also learned from MC about the importance of publishing as well. So I gathered MC taught her the ins and outs of the studio and also gave her some business tips as far as publishing and copyrights.

Happy birthday (63,286) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Happy birthday to the debut album that launched four #1 singles and made a shy young woman from Long Island New York an overnight sensation. Happy 26th birthday to the Mariah Carey album. Thank you Mariah for all you have given us over the years your gifts as a singer-songwriter-producer are unparalleled. Here's to many more years of greatness.

Wendy (63,180) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I watch her show enough and I can say Wendy puts stories together and makes up facts and opinions and most of the time she has to depend on her staff to make sure she is telling the right story. Do I believe there is real beef between MC and Wendy other than Wendy talking her daily dose of smack? But what I noticed is when it comes to MC the majority is something negative and when it's something positive there is always a backhanded compliment behind it. Maybe Wendy can't deal with MC not kissing her butt.

Let MC be (62,974) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I've been coming to the message board lately and all I see is Mariah should take note from everybody you can possibly think of. Honestly I would rather her be true to who she is than her trying to be who everybody wants her to be. She has been there and done that and with the success she was unhappy and miserable. And than she experienced a breakdown trying to keep up with that perfect pop princess facade. While I do not support all MC's choices I do respect her being true to herself so I say let MC be who she is.

Gwen (62,931) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
While I respect Gwen Stefani for her work with No Doubt and her work as a solo act, I feel Mariah should follow in her footsteps in any way. While Gwen's album debuted at #1 her sales are lackluster at best. Also on another note her summer tour with Eve is struggling to sell tickets. The shows have not even sold at least 30% capacity. If anything I wouldn't MC to stretch too far from those who still support her because sometimes going too far left you lose rather than win. So my point is let MC do MC.

Fashion (62,896) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
For me I feel MC needs a new team on the style side one that can mix things up with sexy, glamour, and fun and flirty. Even though MC has never been known for her fashion sense and appeal if she wants any chance of competing in today's industry her entire presentation has to be top notch. Just like she took the time to switch up her perfessional team it would not hurt her to switch up her style or her team of stylists with her next era.

Rihanna (62,863) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
While I may not be a huge fan or apart of her Navy I can say when I heard Work I instantly knew it was a hit. Is Rihanna a huge album seller? Not by any means but she can sell a single unlike no other. She is one of artists today that has major clout along with Adele, Bieber, and Beyoncé just as Mariah, Whitney, and Celine ruled the 90's. These artists today are at most disposable but most of us who grew up on MC are in our 30's and up so we may not relate to today's music industry but it does not deminish what Rihanna and today's artists have done or accomplished.

Complain vs constructive criticism (62,733) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
After coming to this board for years as an daily observer and as a member of the family, I have to say I have never seen this board in such an uproar. I am one who believes in speaking your piece but coming to this board lately seems very strange because the majority of comments are now coming from a negative place. Everything MC seems do or anything the media seems to report most of the family here has an objection and to me I say complaining won't change anything. Don't get me wrong I am all for the music above all, but I have no problem with MC exploring other avenues of her creativity. I will support what interests me, and the things that don't I will not waste time on, and you all should do the same. MC can't please everyone, keep that in mind.

Icon Award (62,598) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The tribute to Celine was mediocre at best, but her performance and speech were a standard all their own. On another note I do feel Mariah definitely deserves the BBM Icon award, it is long over due but when it does happen as I like to speak positive energy into existence, I would like a masterclass tribute highlighting her greatness and a medley performance.

WHHL (62,355) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I have to say MC handled herself well last night with Andy Cohen with all his shadiness. I'm so over the JLo vs Mariah feud already but I have to say I better understand MC on her thoughts with the JLo saga. It just bothers me that the media can nitpick everything MC says as shade but when JLo said she's forgetful everyone pushed under the carpet like not nothing talk about bias.

That red dress (62,288) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Now that is what I like sexy and understated. Unless you want to surprise your lover, a little trashy sexy won't hurt. Now I am glad MC and JD were able to iron out their differences. They have been through the rain and back to the sunshine with each other. All I am asking if they are planning to hit the studio together please no more WBT/ABMB rehashes. Time for some new heat. It is time for these two to get out of their comfort zone musically and shake things up. If not, leave well enough alone, because we will always have the greatness they created in the past.

E up fronts / docu-series (62,263) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
The outfit at the E Up Fronts today was not MC's friend. The fishnets totally killed the look in a bad way. As for the docu-series, it looks like MC will play on the diva image with some other things for good measure. As much as I was not looking forward to this at first, if I am being real looking at the trailer has me feeling otherwise. I have to say Mr. Packer is one lucky man if I can say so myself. Sorry for the personal thought lol. Be blessed Archives' family.

Biggest MC Fan (62,232) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
What is your purpose of coming to this message board? As I see most of your posts here are discrediting everything about MC. Personally this board has many opinions about everything regarding MC, what this board doesn't need is a troll who comes here just to highlight their dislike or issues with MC. If you feel the need to sing the praises of Rihanna go to her fan message board and do that as much as you wish. Again this message board is a Mariah Carey fan message board and trolls are not welcomed.

In my opinion anyone who comes to this message board just to troll and discredit everything about Mariah should not be allowed to post here.

Glaad outfit (62,203) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
This look for me was A1 with just the right amount of sexy and I love sexy lol, without being trashy or MC looking uncomfortable. This new found confidence is just what is needed for MC to regain her status as one of music's last standing divas. Now with the right balance of material and her team handling things the right way and Mariah handling the stage I feel a huge moment/moments can happen.

The voice again (62,149) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
Can we all just accept the fact that MC's in 2016 is not same from 1996. For me I see she has become more comfortable with her voice as clips SSFT has shown us. I feel like this if you don't like Mariah in 2016 for whatever be your reason it's definitely time for you to move on. As we all see Mariah in 2016 has a family, planning a wedding, touring among other things and if all you focus on is her image, what note she missed or why she is not the manufactured perfect pop princess anymore I suggest you find another artist to like and fan out over. Gone are the days of perfection, here and now is a woman who has overcome and finally enjoying life her way either accept the program or leave.

Catalog (62,093) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
As a fan forever, I can say Mariah has provided an everlasting soundtrack for so many people. Out of all the albums released during the 90's I would say Rainbow falls short most because the was no central theme or story it was rushed due to her on going problems with Mottola and Sony. I feel Mariah was planning an escape anyway she could and Rainbow was just that. In the 00's Mariah experienced career highs, low, and resurgence but in my opinion even though Memiors was great in the aspect of telling a story the production watered the album down and made it stale. But overall I can appreciate Mariah for giving her fans the variety she has over her over two decade career.

Memoirs (62,052) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I have to agree memoirs was cohesive as it told one long story but the production makes the album very stale quite quickly. MIAM was a turn to form in some ways musically but personal issues behind the scenes killed the moment. As for Taylor Swift another made up award to clout her perfect manufactured image.

Confused (61,679) by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
I am confused here. I see now that Mariah's voice is working its way back from the sleep zone and throughout this tour she has been giving some of herbbest performances in years now it's time to follow the trends of her so called rival who shall remain nameless as we still don't know her lol. Said person needs those over the elements to mask her mediocre talent. While I would not mind Mariah mixing up the Vegas residency with a different set list I feel adding the extra bells and whistles would hurt Mariah because media already has a perception of her and this would only add fuel to the already existing first of the over the top diva label. So let her voice do the talking a revamp set list yes, maybe some production tweeking but not too much where Mariah becomes lost in it.
