About Sarah from Netherlands:

Re: When is enough really enough? (64,244) (64,245) by Sarah from Netherlands
I wish people would stop blaming Nick for E=MC2. It went well for a little while, and when she disappeared it was because she miscarried, we know this now. Let it go already. After that she tried to to back to what she does best both with Memoirs and MIAM. I think she really stopped caring after MIAM. This was a very personal album, it tanked. I wouldn't be surprised if she feels abandoned by the fans tbh for not supporting the album. Now she just chooses the tried and true (read: safe) road: that of greatest hits shows and cheap celebrity. But you know, all we can do is speculate about what's currently going on. I digress. My point: stop blaming Nick. At least back then she was writing and still about the music. A little ditzy, but expressed through music nonetheless.

I can't believe how some of you seem to getting off on online bullying. Seriously, it worries me. Seek help.

The robe was probably in tribute to Ali, I'd guess. It's a nice touch, I like it.

Or it's the remix that was never actually released? Which is actually called Why You Mad?

OK well the organizer's email gives the times I mentioned, but cool.

Re: Mariah Amsterdam, questions (61,461) (61,467) by Sarah from Netherlands
There was an email yesterday, she won't hit the stage before 21:10. Since it's a seated concert there's really no reason to show up hours early. Doors don't open until 19:00h anyway. My friends and I probably won't show up before 20:30h, gives us time for dinner. Plenty of nice places to eat on the boulevard next to the concert hall. As for where she's staying, it's usually always the same hotel but I forget the name.

Re: Mariah and Michael J duet (61,398) (61,400) by Sarah from Netherlands
You linked a Google search, not an image. I'm guessing that the moment you're referring to is from the What More Can I Give? performance though. Mariah's got one line in it. There's a Spanish version as well.

Re: Mary (61,324) (61,326) by Sarah from Netherlands
That makes zero sense, as soulful as Mariah's voice is, her music is not. It's R&B. So I don't really see why we're comparing Mariah and MJB, they have very different target demographics and very different sounds. It's possible to love one without delegitimizing the other's success or career. Or, and I know this might be a wild idea but you can actually be a fan of both without feeling the need to compare to find out who's better *gasp*. Realize how this never happens with male artists by the way? Oh.

Re: A bitchy man is never cute (60,406) (60,415) by Sarah from Netherlands
You've never seen her brag about het success? You've never watched her on AI? Don't get me wrong, I think it's totally within her right to talk about her achievements. Funny how there's a double standard that with women it's called bragging though, while men can just "talk about their successes". But yeah, I digress. She does brag, albeit with carefully chosen words. And she totally can, she worked for it.

Re: Mariah Carey calls for more diversity (59,460) (59,468) by Sarah from Netherlands
OK so you actually just proved the whole point. Diversity has to do with representation in the media, award season, on stage. What you seem to be suggesting is borderline appropriation. I can usually understand where you're coming from in your critiques, but this is just so very missing the point. Or maybe deliberately so. I hope so tbh.

Take the YouTube files and convert them on offliberty. It's one of the few sites where you don't suffer quality loss on converting.

Re: Last Night a DJ Saved My Life (59,161) (59,167) by Sarah from Netherlands
Loverboy reached #2 on the Billboard chart though, so I wouldn't say it didn't take off.

Re: Time to migrate (58,908) (58,915) by Sarah from Netherlands
She miscarried during this period, remember? People here were mad at her for "going on vacation when she should be promoting" and all that. I don't think it's fair to blame it on Nick. Sidenote: I've spoken out here before about the Nick-bashing. Have you guys seen the comments on his instagram? Overwhelming love and respect for him andMariah. Maybe we can learn from that.

Re: EDMariah (58,748) (58,756) by Sarah from Netherlands
Yeah I literally just remembered. There were rumors about a Stevie J track at the time. But yeah, Q-Tip is very hip hop also.

Re: EDMariah (58,722) (58,736) by Sarah from Netherlands
Well, Calvin Harris-type EDM already died anyway. And it's not the same as the dance mixes she's done in the past. That's like calling Motown soul and neo-soul the same thing. We'll see if it's true. I just hope she stays true to herself. Her biggest comeback hits were those tracks in which she did what she did best. If it's another Meteorite type track, great. But that was a Stevie J track. Who's very very different from Calvin Harris.

Re: Superstar (58,708) (58,710) by Sarah from Netherlands
Calvin Harris implies a dance-y track, right? Can't say I'm excited about that. But knowing Mariah, even if it is true (although she's spoken out against the EDM bandwagon) she'll come out with an R&B/Hiphop version as well.

Re: Mariah - Italy (58,455) (58,456) by Sarah from Netherlands
First row is €270 here in the Netherlands. I got my regular price tickets (the friends I'm going with would never agree to the other prices), but on the 8th row from the stage so that's not too bad. A friend of mine handles promotions for the venue so maybe he'll be able to arrange something extra.

Re: Sweet Sweet Fantasy VIP packages? (58,432) (58,446) by Sarah from Netherlands
Phew. Regular ticket it is. They posted it on the Dutch Ticketmaster website. The most expensive package includes a meet and greet. Other special tickets are front row, gold and silver packages. Cheapest is €160. Regular tickets are €65 and start behind those seats, so from the 21st row.

Anybody have any idea what the VIP packages consist of? Wanna know if it's worth the extra HBF membership fee.

They're advertising with the #1s show, right? So basically the Vegas show.

Re: Mariah is coming to Norway (58,408) (58,410) by Sarah from Netherlands
Mariah in 2003 was my first concert ever. Now she's back with all the #1's. I felt like 14 again when I saw her Instagram post this morning. We've come full circle. *cue Butterfly outro*

Re: Comping (58,326) (58,328) by Sarah from Netherlands
She was exhausted here. You can tell by the way she's talking. No wonder her guard was down. One the one hand, it's good to see her so relatable. On the other hand, if you know why she is that way it's worrisome.

The impact of AIWFCIY (58,280) by Sarah from Netherlands
A Dutch TV channel has the opening chords in its jingle at the beginning and end of commercial breaks. How cool is that. I hope Mariah's getting paid for that.

Re: Jay Z Busta (58,217) (58,231) by Sarah from Netherlands
The new song will probably be "Can't Say No" since Rick Ross will be there too (my guess).
