Has she ever said why she named the second album "Emotions"? I wanna say that I read somewhere that the title came from the song which was inspired (some say a rip off) by the group The Emotions. Confirm anyone? Rainbow? I know she said something about the different textures of her voice-relating it to the title, but did she ever say anything else about this title? It may have been spun by Fox and AI to boost ratings, but the acrimony was real. Fox just used what the women gave. Publicly I defend Mariah in the feud, but honestly she was dead ass wrong. Yes, Mariah is a legend, the biggest selling this, most #1s that, but if she had a nasty attitude and kept throwing shots at me, I can't promise that I wouldn't cuss her ass out, too. Nicki came back at Mariah, and Mariah couldn't take it. Mariah is passive-aggressive, not outright aggressive, and the quickest way to shut down a passive-aggressive person is to confront them. Mariah was in the wrong, plain and simple. Whitney was confident in herself, Celine is confident in herself, Madonna is up her own ass, Janet is confident in herself. Mariah. The whole thing reminded me of Alexis and Krystal on "Dynasty". Alexis had a slick mouth and could read for filth, Krystle didn't have a slick mouth piece, but she had hands, so when it was time to confront Alexis' smart mouth, Krystle beat her ass in a catfight because Alexis couldn't fight to save her life. I think she has segregated herself in an industry image "sing-sing" to the point that other singers, especially females, pay her dust instead of due respect. I wish she would find at least a handful of young girls to publicly support (go their shows, retweet them, etc.). As annoying as Ariana is Mariah did that girl dead wrong. Again, that's where Whitney went right, she acknowledged Mariah, when she was new, but didn't shade her (too much). Be more of "bitch, I'm Mariah" as opposed to "Mariah, that bitch". Best narrative songs (54,745) by Alexis Morell Carrington Colby Dexter Rowan from USA She excels at these types of songs, but rarely does them. They even sound similar musically. They'd make a hell of a medley and the videos for them (if threy have them) are her best: 1.The Roof 2. Lullaby 3. Candy Bling (people sleep on this song, but it is the best thing on MOAIA, the title looks silly on paper but makes sense when you hear the song) These above 3 go together. 4. With Madonna going on what will surely be another successful world tour soon, I would suggest Mariah go and sit down after the July shows. I'm not shading Mariah, but acknowledging that when the press starts comparing these 3 divas "of a certain age" Mariah will always be painted as the flop as compared to the other 2. I really hope Mariah can watch the other two and take some notes from her peers (actually from those that came before her) about stage presence. Someone asked why Mariah shows don't sell out fast. I swear this line from Freddy Krueger sums it up. Tthe Counselor turns into Freddy Krueger and it is revealed that he is having sex with a dead girl's body. I agree that after a certain point Whitney wasn't in anyone's way: that's because Whitney had literally become peerless. With all of the vocal struggles she has had the last couple of years, she is able to belt those notes the exact same key and integrity every night of this show? Yay. TBH I thought she would lip synch the entire song, so I'm impressed that she bothered to sing some of it live. Good job Mariah, you gave me half ass 1989/1990 pitched lowered album version vocals and you deserve a kudos for that. Slayriah, the queen, icon, your faves will never and so on. I had low expectations for the video, so it is actually better than I expected. I still say the lyric video is the best visual she's bothered to put together in years. I've had to learn with Mariah that she is, at best, unreliable. Why she is this way is a debate for another post. Infinity is cute, that's it. Will it be her 19th #1? No. Will it even be a top 20 hit? It's very unlikely. It is a cute song and nothing more. TBH I loved the lyric video and found it the most interesting thing she's done visually in a long time. Which means I expect the actual video to be terrible. I expect the Vegas show to be high camp and a hot mess holistically. I will find some fun in whatever she does with "I don't wanna cry" but other than that do your thing Mariah. (Sunday 3 May 2015; 4:47)
