Tacking on two Memoirs songs to MIAMTEC (105,192)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I think MC needed two songs for the deluxe edition that was going to be sold at Target. She didn't have any extra songs from the recording sessions. MC probably thought what two songs with high profile features from the Angels Advocate remix album would make fans buy the deluxe edition. So, we got R. Kelly and Mary J. Blige. My question is why did she include America the Beautiful? Maybe she was trying to be festive for Memorial Day with it being included on the album. Let's hope MC16 has some brillant decisions.

Tacking on two Memoirs songs to MIAMTEC (105,189)

Does anyone ever wonder what the purpose of putting the two songs from Memoirs (Betcha, Its a Wrap) on The Elusive Chanteuse deluxe edition? Was is it strictly because those two fit the theme of the album or was she actually going to put the two singles from the cancelled Angels Advocate project (UOMF, AC - which would've made more sense since they had music videos and some success), but then decided against that idea once Nicki Minaj became such a brat?

Prized MC possession vs. item lost (105,187)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I got to thinking today of my most prized MC possession and an item that I lost. My most prized MC possession is my UK Love Takes Time single with Vanishing and You Need Me. MC looks so pretty on the cover. I don't know where I bought a UK CD single from. My guess is from a music store in the 90s that ordered import CDs. My item lost is not buying an special promo version CD of Forever and Forever live version. I don't why I left out of that music store without that CD single in my hand. The owner priced it for $4. It is worth $100 dollars now on eBay.

I imagine on a 2024 JD and MC song, MC would say, "If Jermaine likes it then I like it." His signature tag is so lame now, but he still used it on Ari Lennox's throwback R&B influenced 60s track Pressure.

Who is Caution about? (105,172)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Both of them were inexperinced with the ends and outs of the music industry trying to pursue their dreams. It's a shame that we never experienced another Love Takes Time ballad. I believe Ben's compositions with MC gave us more of Mariah's distinct melodies than Walter A's songs did. Walter A's songs with other artists always had that a small element of melody and instrumentation of songs that he composed with Mariah. For example, Leona Lewis' Here I Am. MC sure does have a long list of songwriters, producers, singers, and rappers that we will never experience a repeat collaboration.

I don't think that's the case. Their parting of ways was due to a contract they signed before she was signed to Colombia. Mariah had agreed to split not only the songwriting royalties from the songs, but half of her earnings as well, something she never thought twice about while writing songs in his father's basement.
When the time came to write music for Emotions, Sony officials made it clear he would only be paid the fair amount given to co-writers on an album. Ben didn't like it and filed a lawsuit against Sony, claiming that under contract, he would be entitled to work with Carey, as well as reap extra benefits. A judge settled that Margulies was to earn ten percent of Carey's direct earnings from her record sales, not including an income from any other ventures, but at that point their relationship was ruined.
In an interview, back then, Mariah stated: "I signed blindly. Later, I tried to make it right so we could continue, but he wouldn't accept it."

Best concert attendance stats in 25 years (105,163)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

Why do I feel MC is the type of artist that has to have a new album out in order to announce a 27 city tour to support it? Just thinking hypothectically that what if her album is completed in late March and she tours the U.S. in April and May before the album drops in late August. Would that fly with Lambs? Or do we want her to stick to her same old formula of dropping the album and tour 6 weeks later? I thought about how JT always switches things up all the time when he is getting ready to drop an album. Who knows maybe JT will drop his new album on April 26th, three days before his world tours kicks off in Vancouver on April 29th. He hasn't made any album release announcement yet. JT has just created buzz for a new album to get his fans ready for his new album. Also, he caused Britney's fans to sabotage his first single, Selfish trajectory on the Hot 100. He sure has angered a lot of other female artist's fans like Britney, Janet, and MC during his solo career, but people still love his music.

I think Giving Me Life is about Derek Jeter or Mark Sudak. Both men gave her a happy relationship for a moment in time. Although, Mark Sudak was too behind the scenes probably for MC to married. Did she ever take him to Aspen? 8th Grade is about Ben Marguiles. The Distance is most definitely about Tanaka. Great topic, Matty.

If you think trans issues are equated to castration. Get educated. Castration has nothing to do with trans issues and if you think that somehow effects your "masculinity", say like putting on "colleague" vs. "perfume"; you need a long, deep view in the mirror (which will be hard and sad for you). Penises vs. vulva don't define a soul. If you choose to believe it does... ok. It's a discussion about social norms. It's not about genitals. Let's get back to Mariah.

I think Mariah should keep things secretive for now. I don't want to know who she's working with because I want no expectations whatsoever. I just hope the next album knocks my socks off.
As far as the "woke" topic, I will just have to let it go. There's no reasoning with people who are incapable of putting themselves in others' shoes or lack empathy altogether. Besides, you can't tell them nothing if they already know everything.

Exactly, they have turned the community into a joke with their 20,000 pronuns and 100+ genders. When you can't define the word woman without using the word woman in the defnintion, you know our society is on its way to the toilet. When people now entertain reducing women to being chestfeeders, vagina havers, pregnant people, birthing people just to accommodate some and in the name of inclusion, you know we're effed up. When you have trans women with obviously bigger lungs, hearts and stronger physiques regardless of how long they've been on testosterone supressants, oblitarating women sports, we know misogyny is rampant, yet we're all grouped together with this madness. I love and respect women, and I'll be damned the day I refer to a woman as anything other than a woman. One can never reason with insanity, let alone meet insanity in the middle. The community had reached a very stable middle, until some wanted more and more and more. Now, trans women are not trans women, they are real women. I'm so glad people are starting to push back.

Didn't MC say in an inerview that she recorded like 22 songs for E=MC2? The 10 songs that she mentioned in November were just the ones she did with Daniel Moore. Daydream era - unknown performance (105,101)
by Bobby A from United States

Right. I can't understand why MC being so secretive this time around. She didn't post any studio pics during the recording of Caution. We would have never known that she was working with Poo Bear if had he not said anything. I just wonder during the recording of the early stages of Caution if she regretted mentioning wanting to work with The Weekend after their conversation. It seemed like he never took her serious enough to make things happen. I think that pissed MC off knowing that she publicly said she wanted to work with him. He seems really arrogant to be around. He never gives any interviews. He broke Selena's heart. His Superbowl half-time show was a hot mess and boring. I don't think MC and The Weekend would have any fun in the studio to create anything. Can't you tell I am a fan of the The Weekend?

Quantity vs quality (105,082)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
6/10 quality type of album is going to be what puts MC back on top. Back to back Top 5 hits on the new album would put a smile on many of our faces. It could lead to a deluxe edition being released with 2-3 new tracks. Something tells me that we are in for something better than Caution and MIAM. MC is being really quiet about who she is working with this time. Who knows we may get a David Guetta dance track or a Ryan Tedder power ballad. Those two are on my wish list.

Would you rather have a rated 6/10 Mariah album with one or two big hits (top 10 or better on Billboard) or a solid 9/10 album (because nothing will beat the perfection of Daydream) with no popular hit singles (doesn't hit the top 40 on Billboard)? Of course I'm hoping we get a solid quality album with hits, but I'm curious to hear what you all pick.

Starboy (105,067)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
Please, no songs on MC16 should sound like Starboy or any The Weekend song. MC should focus on recreating the sound of Butterfly's ballads like My All, Fourth of July, Close My Eyes and Whenever You Call. These are the type of songs that will make radio play MC again. Radio programmers laughed at Save The Day. It was just a horrible idea to include Lauren Hill on the song. GTFO was a hot track, but didn't stick because no one believed MC talked like that to her man. Just mentioning a couple of songs in the futuristic style of Starboy that didn't do anything for MC's career. I believe she gotten the memo this time after Caution was rushed, MIAM had some less than flattering vocal moments, and Memoirs underperformed because L.A. Reid botched the promotional rollout and remix album plans.

Yes, it looks like she had some type of cosmetic procedure done last year. The way she looked December 2022 to July 2023 clearly shows that the diferrent look is more than spending 6 months working hard in the gym. Whatever MC did, the weight loss helped to get 70% of her voice back.
