Album ideas (104,915) by Bobby A from United States MC should make her first true R&B jazz adult contemporary album to reach masses again. I was thinking today she is going to have to release an album with a cohesive group of live musicians who can give her a new sound so she can improvise live. Improvisation is her strength that no one else can do quite like MC. Remember the mop the floor song during one of the Christmas shows. Also, I believe MC16 is going to be the album that is going to be the true follow-up to Butterfly. I felt cheated and disappointed with Rainbow and Charmbracelet being released after the brillant Butterfly album. I know that I am not the only one who felt cheated and disappointed in 1999 and 2002. Album ideas (104,902) by MusicfanJ from Germany Bill I love all your album ideas. I really wish we would get at least two of your ideas. My favourite would be of course the Jazz album "They call the wind Mariah". I've been listening to "Lullaby of Birdland" and "Nevertheless I'm in Love with you" on repeat. Mariah can sing almost every genre but she's really a hidden jazz lady. And her diva style suits it as well. But the other ideas are also great. I think almost every fan heart would be pleased too. JLo Hummingbird = Butterfly (104,894) by ADAM from USA Her album roll out is such a carbon copy of Butterfly it's uncanny. Now she's adopting a hummingbird motif on her album and in her vinyl and album covers posing the same way MC did with hair and lighting like the epic Butterfly cover. Memoirs might have performed better if it was released in October or November with H.A.T.E.U. released on the same day. IWTKWLI was the wrong second single for the U.S. The whole album rollout was rushed after the original release date was pushed back to Srptember 29th. Love for Memoirs (104,876) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter Memoirs is gonna have its 15th anniversary this year and wow time flies. Might be an unpopular opinion but I love Memoirs through and through. It's a shame the album wasn't a huge success. It had so many amazing songs. Some of which were so different from Mariah's usual sound. UOOMF with Nicki should have been a hit, they both killed it on the song. Obsessed was so fun and fresh. I love the ballads. "More than just friends" should have been released as a single and same for BGK. I love "Ribbon" too and its unreleased remix. "Inseparable" was a cute moment too. Basically I think it's one of those albums where I would have the least of any skips. I also wish the "H.A.T.E.U" remix was released properly and the general public knew about it. Ed Sherran [sic] collaboration (104,857) by Bobby A from United States I listened to Shivers today. When you hear an Ed Sherran song you know it's Ed Sherran 100%. I am just wondering how a Mariah Carey and Ed Sherran song would sound on the radio. I think that they could create a dance pop song that radio would be played in heavy rotation. My only reservation about suggesting a collaboration is that Ed Sherran's musical style may be too pop for MC's musical direction in 2024. She really hasn't recorded a true pop song since #Beautiful. However, he could suggest a melody and a chord that would inspire something in the style of Fantasy or Dreamlover to MC's liking. (Monday 8 January 2024; 22:53)

The video was from too far so I couldn't really tell but sounded like it was pre-recorded which I'm not mad at at all because it suited her current voice really well and got me excited for what is to come - hopefully she'll have a couple of jazz numbers. MC wanted a Beyonce type of digital release while IDJ wanted a traditional release with pre-orders. IDJ executives were unhappy with the performance of Memoirs and MC's delayed completion of MIAM. They were just ready to be done with MC knowing that MIAM would fulfill her contractual obligations to the label. The executives now are probably concerned that MC30 doesn't have fan interest for any IDJ MC30 releases. I am surprised that It's A Wrap got a vinyl release last year. MC probably financed the release herself. She only had one hit album during her time with IDJ. Charmbraclet, E=MC2, and MIAM were all commercial disappointments. RCA will probably not allow Yours ft. Justin Timberlake to be released. Angels Advocate and Jumpsmokers Remix albums have been leaked online. MIAM leftover tracks are probably nonexistent. I have always thought ITC was the beginning of MC writing cheesy and silly lyrics. I love the beat and the MJ sample, but I think the lyrics are on list of some her worst lyrics. E=MC2 (104,818) by Andrew from the UK To portray this album as a failure is somewhat disingenuous. It debuted at No.1 on the Billboard 200, it gave Mariah her highest first week sales of any album and also a No.1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. Anyone who would not relish in this kind of success in 2024 is either not a fan or telling lies. The problem with the album is that it contains too much filler (much the same as the problem with The Emancipation of MiMi), ie., Last Kiss, Love Story, Thanks for Nothing, For The Record. This woeful R&B dreariness doesn't stand the test of time and Mariah keeps recycling it. This year's album should have no more than 11 tracks and be upbeat with hot material that is unique and accessible to all. And if "Songs in the Key of MC" isn't to be, then I must agree with Mimi L that the title should be concise - either one or two words - and not self-referential. What next? I know speculations that she didn't have clearance for the rest but first of all why even start a project when you don't have all the clearance and secondly why would IDJ give her clearance for TEOM which was one of the biggest albums and not for the rest? It wasn't until Problem and Break Free were major hits that I knew she finally found her own sound. Sweetner and Thank You, Next albums solidified her successs in pop music. She definitely reminds me of a young MC in the studio. I have seen a couple of videos of her in the studio laying down vocals and she definitely emulates MC's studio process. It is going be a busy year for women in pop and R&B with new albums from Sheryl Crow, Dua Lipa, Coco Jones, MC, Ariana Grande, Keyshia Cole, Tyla, Renee Tapp, Mary J. Ariana has an amazing voice and is talented for sure but I think she lacks something Mariah has. Mariah has that unique X factor to her voice and because of the fact that she writes her own songs, Mariah's songs have the raw personal feel something I don't find from Ariana. Also for the whistles Ariana uses it just because she can, Mariah uses it more artistically, she uses it like background music, she uses it to express emotions, she uses it for words (like the on and on for "Bliss"). Mariah beautiful incorporates her whistles. Mariah has that distinct raspy and buttery voice too that feels so raw and full of emotions. That's why she's often imitated never duplicated. If anyone has information to the contrary, I'm all ears. "Me. I Make Things Up... Eternally Chatshit." It was such an awful album title with a cartoon cover, and with vocals so engineered that it's difficult to listen to. The Art of Letting Go as an album title was great.
