About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. Ok? I'm too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

Edward / YDKWTD (45,067) by Stacey from USA
Thank you. You thought I was playing this song a ton before with Wale, lol. Now, it's on all the time. Honestly, I would love a version with just MC on the intro and combine Wale's two raps into one verse in the middle of the song before Mariah's ending choruses. That would be my perfect version of that song.

Thoughts / Edward / Bill (45,014) by Stacey from USA
A new album is out and we are discussing J-Lo? Ebonics? The reason I haven't posted much lately is I'm too busy enjoying the album. Wise up and spend more time on things that matter. Geez. Edward, thank you for posting the no rap version. Wale doesn't bother as much having listened to the song so much, lol. His raps are kinda cute and fit the song. However, I am just thrilled there is a no rap version out there. Now, if I can just get my hands on a legal download of the song, I'll be set. Bill, thank you for your candid thoughts on using samples. Every artist has bent the rules at one point. Mariah is no different.

Loris / YDKWTDO no rap (44,348) by Stacey from USA
I had problems with the website. Can you or someone else send me the song? I would be in heaven if I had a no rap version. You don't know how over joyed I would be. Please? Email: daydreamer.butterfly@gmail.com

Initial thoughts on MIAM (44,278) by Stacey from USA
Bought the album Tuesday night and have had it playing non-stop in my house dealing with kids, etc. First off, let me just say it's nice to hear MC's full voice vocal. I know many fans love the whisper, but it's nice to hear all parts of her voice. In having the record playing while I chase my kids around the house, lol, I have to say the first song that stopped me in my tracks was Make It Look Good. Oh my, that song is my jam at the moment, and SW's harmonica solos? Pure gold. #Beautiful is great. I'll tell you though, it's kinda funny how this all works out, but YME is a favorite of mine on this album. When the song was released, I didn't hate it or love it. I was indifferent toward the song. But, for some reason, hearing it along with the rest of the song, it stands out as a favorite. You Don't Know What To Do is smash hit. Wale can still go, IMO. But, if he has to stay, I can live with it. Honestly, this song should have been released in February ahead of the album's release instead of YM(E). Heavenly is amazing, but too many chord changes at the end. It's almost like enough already. One or two at the end would have sufficed. Still listening to it and digesting it. Peace.

Clean version (44,139) by Stacey from USA
Oh who cares if there are clean versions of the song. I swear, to call wanting cuss words edited out censorship is a bit of a stretch, IMO. Honestly, folks who cuss don't lend their arguments any credibility. Doesn't make me listen to you more if you say f-this and f-that to me. Forgive me, I'm writing this late at night, probably when I should be in bed, lol. Still though, if someone wants a clean version, sobeit. I don't cuss in my everyday life. Sure, a word pops out here and there, but I honestly can't remember if ever I've let the f-word slip. It's just not me and IMO ruins a song like #Beautiful. Why she put that word in there is beyond me. Anyway, I am excited to finally buy the clean version, haha, of the album tomorrow. Peace.

Show Wale the door (43,836) by Stacey from USA
So glad I am not the only one who thinks this guy ruins a great song. I heard the album version today and wow, what a great beat, vocals, lyrics, etc. Why does MC or whoever decide to put an annoying rapper over such amazing beats and vocals. It makes no sense. Ugh. I'm with you Edward. I hope she puts out a no rap version.

Totally off topic, lol (43,748) by Stacey from USA
I don't know why I thought of this duet, but I totally want the mp3. It's MC's duet with Michael Buble for AIWFCIY. I know Christmas is months away and I'm so excited summer the weather is warming up, but still I need the song. So, if you have a high quality mp3 of the song and don't mind sending it to me, I would be so thankful.

Today Show May 2014 (43,716) by Stacey from USA
So, MC's recent live performances haven't been that great, lol. Today though, she did great. She did lip the new song. It's so obvious, no discussion is needed. Though I don't fault her for that. It's a new song and so I understand why she would lip a pre-recorded track. No one has heard it up until now. As for the other two songs, perfect choices. ABMB from the 90s and TMB, a more recent hit. As for ABMB, I loved how MC played off getting the lyrics wrong by singing she did such a thing. Classic. That is the personality we want to see, someone who plays off a mistake with a light diss toward herself and sings on. All in all, a great start to getting this new album off the ground. One side note, I loved YDKWTD except Wale's part. Ugh, I know some love, love, love her rap collabos and sometimes I do too. But this Wale guy needs to hit the road, lol. I found myself loving the song except when that guy opened up his mouth. If anyone comes across a no rap version, let me know. I'd love to have it.

Thirsty (43,552) by Stacey from USA
I know many like her rap collabos, and sometimes I do too. However, I always like when she puts out the song with just her and then the rap is featured on a remix. It's nice. I'm not liking the trend with the cuss words, but that's just me. Remember, I listen to this stuff a lot with my kids in the car, so a clean version (remember Edward, lol) would be nice. I can't help but think as I listen to it, the song is a reminder to Nick to keep it in check. Maybe the divorce rumors are true. I hope not. Time will tell. Nice song. Catchy beat. This is the kind of song the GP will request on the radio.

Edward / clean version (43,179) by Stacey from USA
Haha Edward, you're such a funny guy, lol. I usually listen to music with kids in the car, so I can do without the f-word all over #Beautiful. Plus, I don't care for cussing in general either. I hope they do release a clean version like at Walmart. That's where I got Amy Winehouse clean version of her album Back To Black.

Artwork / clean version (43,157) by Stacey from USA
I think the artwork done as a kid is a nice touch. Being a mom to three kids, two of which draw pictures, I just love when they color then give me the picture. I also hope there is a clean version released. I know Amy Winehouse did that years ago. I know the language thing doesn't bother some. But, I usually have kids in the car with me and would not have to deal with it.

Me. I am Stacey (43,097) by Stacey from USA
I like the title. It's finally nice to see things coming together. Of course I am getting the deluxe edition. It's A Wrap was one of a handful of songs I loved off MOAIA. So excited to hear her jam with Ms. Mary.

Get a hobby (42,957) by Stacey from USA
Here is a thought: Get a new hobby or jump back into an old one to pass the time till MC's album is released. No sense in getting all worked up over something you can't control.

Things change (42,653) by Stacey from USA
So the "thumbs down" icon is gone. Oh well. I think it sets the stage for negativity. Some can take a thumbs down as a personal attack. I know. I used to do that. Coming up on 37 later this year, I've chilled out a lot in my older years, lol. The problem I saw with the "thumbs down" icon was this: many folks would see who wrote the post and automatically hit thumbs down based on who wrote it. They took no time to read the post with an open mind and then comment afterwards. Some fans can hold a grudge, lol. Anywho, May 6th is coming up soon. Excited to see what MC has in store.

Carla, Edward (42,166) by Stacey from USA
Carla, I've was accused by someone a while back as having an in with Eric and this site. Not true. While I have tried to conduct myself appropriately on this board, I too have had many of my posts edited or simply not posted at all. It's Eric's site and he alone decides what gets posted. The rules that apply to you also apply to me and others. It's easy to see your post censored and think you are being singled out. I've felt that way too. However, after posting here for years, I've come to see we all have to play by the same rules. Anyway, just speaking my lame two cents, lol. I do enjoy your posts here.

Kenny (42,010) by Stacey from USA
You are right. There is nothing wrong with different opinions. My post said just that. Go and read my original post again. My issue is with name calling. Just wanted that part to be clear.

Carlos / Kenny (42,008) by Stacey from USA
I did not direct my post to anyone or any specific situation. It was simply a post about my experiences posting online. I am not mad at anyone. My post did not imply anything close to that. Hardly, lol. See, I choose to ignore the drama. I don't worry about what someone says through a computer. I have so many things real to me than faceless words on a screen. Know what I mean? If someone does take issue with me, I approach them in an appropriate manner. I don't resort to name calling. Trust me, Eric can attest folks have gotten quite nasty with me over the years and I've learned to fight fire with water. I guess at age 36, I don't worry about it all anymore. I just pop in Fantasy and let the drama "melt away". Moving forward. Peace.

The drama (41,995) by Stacey from USA
It will always be a unnecessary part of any Mariah messageboard. I've been posting online at various MC messageboards for over a decade. It doesn't matter who calls who a name. Both people are in the wrong. Fans always have a choice. You can ignore things that bother you. The problem is many don't and choose to do the immature thing and throw out a name. I've seen many fans over the years take a contrary opinion to their thoughts as a personal attack. It took me many years to learn that just because a fan disagrees with me doesn't mean they are attacking me personally. I hope more fans will learn the difference and apply it when posting online. Peace.

Last minute songs / MC's career / Edward (41,884) by Stacey from USA
Last minute songs aren't necessarily a bad sign. Love Takes Time was added so late in the game, there were copies of the album that went to press before the song was added. It became an instant #1 classic. WBT and SIO were last minute additions too, with both songs in the top 2 on Billboard at one point. At this point, I really don't care what is going on. It's obvious MC will do what she will, for good or bad. Is she that clueless? Who knows? She's survived in the business for over 20 years. I would hope she's learned a thing or two to stay relevant. Stephen is 100% correct. You need to work with people who aren't afraid to tell you no. MC is crazy talented, but she is human and prone to making mistakes. I guess at this point I will wait for May 6th and see what she puts out. Don't count out the last minute additions. Those are usually her biggest hits. Edward, I loved your tracklisting. Hillarious. Some folks just need to laugh more. My story was so cute, so positive toward MC. Yet some nerds still hit the thumbs down button, lol.

Licia, Stephen, Edward (41,595) by Stacey from USA
Thanks to you all. It was a funny story, such a random comment from my daughter. I guess I listen MC more than I realize. My daughter has good taste. Yes Licia, I did have my boy on November 20th. He is baby #3 and my last, lol. Hard to believe he is already three months old and so chunky. Ahhh yes, Daydream theme would be perfect. You know me so well. I'm still laughing at the two people who hit the "thumbs down" icon. Did their finger slip? Must be the case, lol. Thanks Stephen. It's nice to be back. May 6th, here we come. I can't wait. I am enjoying You're Mine more and more.

Cute story, Mariah related (41,556) by Stacey from USA
I got into organizing my kitchen today. My five year old daughter was watching TV in the adjoining room. I turn on an MC mix playing IBLYLT. She turns around and asks, "Mom, did you turn on that beautiful music?" Yes, the next generation of MC fans are in good hands, lol.

Promotion (41,548) by Stacey from USA
I've been most critical of MC in the past for not having "it together" with regards to promotion. This time around, however, things look different. She announced the song weeks in advance. Once it dropped, the video and remixes were released within days. That is a huge difference from what we've seen in the past year or so with other songs. She would release a song and the video would come out weeks later, if that. Delays would be announced with no real reason why. Not good. I'm willing to give MC the benefit of the doubt because her actions as of late show a more ready Mariah. Radio is at the heart of promotion. You get them on board, and the rest will fall into place. I do agree doing shows like Fallon, Ellen, and The View are important. But, I think you'll reach a wider audience by getting radio to play your song. Time will tell.

Deedre / other thoughts about You're Mine (41,393) by Stacey from USA
The world waits with "breath that is baited" for what I think. Haha. That's a line from Sex and the City for those interested. Anyway, it's a good song. I like the duet with Trey Songz. I am excited for the new album. Look, her legend is cemented in time. There is no changing her career numbers. She has nothing left to prove. I think at this point, she is doing what makes her happy. She has had one amazing career, adding a great family with adorable kids. What more do you want? I've got 20+ years of music to enjoy. Her videos these days may make me roll my eyes and laugh, but so what? Videos aren't what they used to be. It's about the music with the expansion of the digital age. I am excited about May 6th and a new album.

You're Mine (Eternal) (41,360) by Stacey from USA
First post since Eric introduced the up/down feature. Now I'll really get to see what you all think of me, lol. I've been busy with three kids and sick with a cold. How's that for a Valentine's present? Anyway, I like the song. I even like the RnB remix. Almost sounds better as a duet. But, I like both versions. The stacato verse reminds me of Your Girl and Heartbreaker choruses. I like how she goes back and forth between soft and full vocals. It's where she's at her best rather than whispering all the time or belting for that matter. A mix of her amazing voice is what works, IMO. The video? I just laughed at the part where she moves her arm to cover up the "girls" better. I'll leave it at that. I'll say that having all the material ready to go when the single is released is a nice change. I'm glad to see her working with other singers rather than having a rapper guest star on a remix. I also thought with the title, You're Mine, it was going to be some mushy love song. To see it be a song about lost love, wanting that person back ala WBT was nice. The remixes are nice, but why is she only singing the final chorus all throughout the remix? I wished she would have resung the verses and included them too. All and all, this is a great start. I can't wait for May 6th.
