About Stacey from USA: Been a fan since 1993. Favorite albums include Daydream, TEOM, and Music Box. I love a good discussion, but won't stand for hateful comments because we disagree. I am too old to deal with drama and so are you. Keep it real with me and we'll have some fun. Peace.

No matter how many times you say it, some will never get it.

Yep, that must be it. I'm so delusional and in denial. You are so right. Gosh, thank you so much for clearing things up for me. The ironic thing is, I could say the same thing about your opinion. Making up drama about Celine that just isn't there. Peace.

I couldn't agree more.

Re: Celine, Patti, Aretha, and all that stuff (62,783) (62,808) by Stacey from USA
Haha, thanks for the reply, Deedre. I can always count on you for a fair opinion. I've watched Divas Live 1998 plenty of times. It was a great concert for a great cause. This idea that Celine was trying to make it about her by letting fly with a few riffs is ridiculous. Talk about creating drama out of nothing. Even Carole and Randy's commentary back that up. Anyway, I've spent too much time on this already.

Re: Stacey (62,779) (62,807) by Stacey from USA
To me this is all just a bunch of much "ado about nothing". I just got done watching a bunch of videos (before I saw your post Nikki) from Divas Live and I gotta tell you, it looked like Celine was just having fun during Natural Woman (and especially during Testimony). She's back there dancing with Shania, Carole with Gloria, all having a good time. Honestly, I don't get why some are getting worked up over drama that IMO just isn't there. They all were on stage having a good time. If Mariah held back because she deemed such a choice respectful of Aretha, then fine. That's her opinion and choice. It doesn't make Celine disrespectful for choosing to enjoy the moment by letting a few notes fly. Aretha had more than enough solo time. Please. This whole notion is so unfounded. Peace.

Re: Celine, Patti, Aretha, and all that stuff (62,760) (62,776) by Stacey from USA
See though, I don't think Celine was trying to out sing anyone. I don't see Celine as that kind of self-serving diva. I've watched the performance of Natural Woman many times. All the divas were singing, then there was a moment to the end where Celine stepped in front and wailed a few riffs. The rest of the song showcased all the divas doing their thing. I don't see Celine ignoring her "place", trying to upstage Aretha. She had a moment and sang. Other divas had their moments. I just don't see the problem. Celine has always shown great respect and admiration for other artists that paved the way for her. Celine has had an amazing career. Why is it such an issue for her to have a moment? I just don't get "it", apparently, lol.

Celine, Patti, Aretha, and all that stuff (62,756) by Stacey from USA
I can remain quiet no more on this subject. Celine trying to out sing Aretha? Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the 1998 show called Divas Live? I don't recall producers calling it the Aretha Franklin tribute. This whole notion that Celine was trying to upstage Aretha is ridiculous. Celine is successful just like the other divas on stage, so what's wrong in being allowed to show off for a moment during a song? Mariah had no issues doing it during Chain Of Fools. In fact, her and Aretha were battling for vocal supremacy during the final moments of song. I hear no complaints toward MC trying to outsing Aretha. Seems to me the issue is with Celine personally, masking the dislike for her or any other singer behind some silly upstaging argument. I don't understand pitting one artist against the other. I can like MC without putting Celine down and vice versa. I must be gifted in my ability to read messages about other singers without the need to criticize them, lol.

Mariah ABCs (62,256) by Stacey from USA
This outta be fun. A - Always Be My Baby, B - Babydoll, C - Can't Take That Away, D - Dreamlover, E - Everything Fades Away, F - Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise), G - Get Your Number, H - Hero, I - I'm That Chick, J - Joy Ride, K - ?, L - Love Story, M - Mine Again, N - Never Forget You, O - Out of Control (OOC), P - Prisoner, Q - ?, R - Ribbon, S - Stay The Night, T - Till The End Of Time, U - Underneath the Stars, V - Vanishing, W - Whenever You Call, X - X-Girlfriend, Y - Your Girl, and Z - ?. This was harder than I thought. With some letters, the song needed to fill it came so easy. Others I can to go and cheat. Did anyone get one for K, Q and Z? Those were the only two I could not find any song to fill it.

Rhianna, a legend? (62,229) by Stacey from USA
Oh you must be joking, lol. Go and find the video of her attempting to sing Hero. It is laughable. She is the epitamy of studio creation if there ever was one. Please don't put her in the same category just because she's close to MC in #1 hits.

Drama (62,037) by Stacey from USA
I've been posting online since the Charmbracelet era. The same thing happens no matter what MC fan site I visit. 1) There will always be those who think they can say whatever they want sitting behind a computer screen. 2) There will always be those fans who think they are judge and jury when it comes to who is a fan and who is not. 3) There will always be those who take a difference of opinion as a personal attack. Bottom line: The three things I've mentioned will never change no matter how many times you try to advise those fans otherwise. The sooner you realize these fans will never change, the better off you'll be. Ignoring is the best advice I can give. I choose to respond and discuss with those who don't buy into the drama. If someone attacks me, I don't even bother responding. I read on. It's that simple. Peace.

Just a thought, Ian. Leave Diedre alone. She's about as fair minded as you'll get around here. I don't post as much with all the drama like you. But just want to give a shout out to my friend here who shouldn't be lumped with the other names you mentioned.

Sweet Sweet Fantasy tour (60,477) by Stacey from USA
I think one glaring miss from the set list is Without You. Didn't that song hit #1 in Europe? Anyways, if she is to tour Europe, her set list should include songs that hit the top 10 the mix that with obvious favs like ABMB, etc.

Re: Las Vegas shows a complete disaster (60,269) (60,276) by Stacey from USA
The bigger question is if MC's Vegas residency was such a failure as the article claims, why would Caesars Palace add more dates?

MC and Packer engaged (59,240) by Stacey from USA
I'm happy for them both. I hope 3rd times the charm both MC and JP. Out of MC's marriages, this one makes sense. They are both in their 40s, both not wanting for anything, etc. Here's hoping for a happy day and maybe some great songs to follow.

AIWFCIY (58,704) by Stacey from USA
The song is sheer perfection. Even family and friends of mine who can't stand MC, personally and/or professionally, can't help but groove to this song everytime it plays. This song is something special. Even after 20+ years, the song's appeal only seems to get stronger.

JTTW remix (58,701) by Stacey from USA
JTTW is probably my second favorite MC Christmas song behind AIWFCIY. The song always gets me into the Christmas spirit. I like the radio edit, though. Short and sweet. Anyways, Merry Christmas and happy new year to you all.

Re: Just found a gem (58,215) (58,227) by Stacey from USA
First off, I can't believe this only has 6 likes (at the time I wrote this, lol). Gem doesn't even begin to describe how awesome this track is. I wish there were studio acapella versions of all her songs. There were so many neat runs and phrases I didn't know existed. You don't notice them over the arrangements.

Of course different opinions are welcomed. It's never failed to amaze me over the 15+ years I've posted online. Those who preach tolerance of all thought are the most intolerant of all. Peace.

Daydream 20th anniversary (57,000) by Stacey from USA
Boy, do I feel old. I was 18 when that album was released. I will be hitting 38 on Sunday, lol. It's still her best album, IMO. She was at her peak during that era. I know, I know, many will say Butterfly was her peak lyrically and vocally. However, songs like Fantasy set up a trend of hip-pop which drastically changed the music industry. We haven't seen another example of that kind of drastic change since. That album had something for everyone. Daydream will always be my #1 album.

Faded (56,892) by Stacey from USA
I love the song. It doesn't sound like WBT. If anything it sounds like DFAU. I can't help but sing "don't baby, dont baby don't let it go" when Faded plays.

The Intern premiere (56,846) by Stacey from USA
MC looked absolutely flawless. Just gorgeous. I've always hated how much cleavage she shows. This just proves you don't have to "give away the farm" to look sexy. Modest is hottest.

One more thing... (56,589) by Stacey from USA
Celine Dion is at the peak of her success in 2000, she takes a break. Comes back two years later with a new album and Vegas show, a risk at the time for Celine and Caesars Palace. She sold out every show. Fast forward years later she takes another break. Look how she was welcomed back: with open arms (no pun intended). If anything, Celine has showed more staying power by taking breaks and showing she is still relevant in many minds by all the support she gets when she does returns to the stage. I don't think consistency is the key here or at least doesn't apply to Celine Dion. She is still very much a successful and sought after artist. If she wasn't, Caesars would not have welcomed her back. By the way, her Vegas shows aren't solely relying on her back catalog. Her shows contain covers of a lot of songs. By the way, isn't that what MC does too? Sing her past hits? Peace.
