About Me. I am Carly from USA : Huge Mariah fan, my moment of realization was her Thanksgiving concert, the first time she sang Hero, I watched it on t.v. My face pressed against the screen and that was it.
I always dreamed of meeting M and it was even in my high-school yearbook, that I loved her haha weird!
I moved to NYC and the first time I met her was at the butterfly sighting I have seen her and gone to countless shows since.
Sunshine lambs forever.

BET as a video (41,540) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I would love her team to release the BET performance as a video. Don't you think that would be very successful? (I think someone else may have also mentioned this in a longer post.)

If this is her last (41,538) by Me. I am Carly from USA
The voice. Most artists that go away don't stay away, so there is always a chance that if she leaves she will come back. I am just curious if she is going be getting some sort of vocal surgery and therefore is not sure about her future. Dembabies. If Mariah does not end up performing, we will very likely end up hearing some major Mariah type instruments in the way of Moroccan and Monroe down the line. Totally will break my heart, but if she is so stressed/not able I understand that she needs to remove herself.

Will the real MC please stand up (41,512) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I hear what some are saying about Mariah being herself, but I think Mariah imitates things almost as escapism from just being herself and she is very insecure. So I don't find it attractive, because I don't think it is coming from a place of fun, but a place of insecurity and frustration at her image and how people view her. I think it is her way of being rebellious and saying I can act however I want whenever I want. Of course she can but is is in my opinion not flattering or fun, to me it just seems like she needs to look inside herself more and be more real, real. Btw I totally think she is a diva but with a huge heart and major sensitivity to others.

The album will have revelations (41,503) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I kinna think once the Mariah album comes out, we will start to have a much better understanding of how Mariah feels and where she is at. I expect, as Nick has revealed, that we will see a woman, trying to process a lot of change in her life, and dealing with neediness and terrible fear and insecurity as well as unconditional love and joy. That is the journey she has been through. The interviews and all that will hopefully get better when she has songs to sing and can talk about them more throughly.

Rjj12 (41,499) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I agree that Journey may be her idea. I like My Journey or The Journey better than just Journey which just makes me think of the band ha.

Face time matters (41,498) by Me. I am Carly from USA
The reality is that Mariah is doing the interviews because she needs to. She needs to promote the song with her personality that is why she is there that is why they don't play the record, like it or not her persona is a factor. And I love Mariah so I am not going to pretend to enjoy this faux attitude and as it was brilliantly put 24/7 Loreal commercial. Come on Mariah, drop (a lot) of the act and show us you sincerity. I should add many people will and have always hated her but for the undecided and the people that are devoted to her she ought to know better.

Name the album (41,496) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I think it would be pretty sweet if Mariah let the fans name the album. Not that I would expect her to give up that creativity but still would be pretty cool.

Jimmy made sense (41,451) by Me. I am Carly from USA
The diva moment on Jimmy was really cute because it was well planned, made sense in the setting and was clear Mariah was playing it up for fun and laughs and joking about herself.

Mariah is capable of being more grown (41,449) by Me. I am Carly from USA
The reason I believe Mariah's image is such a big deal, is that frankly I don't think she is competing with the younger singers even if the radio kids like her song. I think they are gonna relate to the younger newbies. Mariah's audience in my opinion is a tad older like myself mostly or more mature at least and we are living in an 99% moment, we also have been there done that and expect more because we are grown. Mariah needs to catch up, we can have some diva when it is fun and healthy, but life is hard and she is very fortunate to have the beautiful babies and handsome hubby and be so talented, and have the lifestyle, so time to outgrow the negativity cattiness and insecurity or at least rethink your popularity if you don't.

Mariah is not meant for dirty business, she is an artist (41,448) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I really sense that Mariah has finally realized that the life she has at home is real and the music business is business. She just hasn't figured out how to feel about it (right now she is showing her anger and resentment). I think it is very personal for her when she doesn't get the love the way she used to. If Mariah can play the game a bit more and separate herself a bit more she will be more successful. Somebody tell Mariah she needs to call Olivia Pope stat.

Radio continued (41,445) by Me. I am Carly from USA
So I guess I am saying Mariah should really be watching iTunes to see what her popularity is and what people like. Radio does not seem to be an accurate barometer across the board in my opinion.

Radio (41,443) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I listened to the radio when I was younger, mostly because I was out and partying and hearing songs and wanted to talk about the new singers and also I wanted people to identify with and try to look like and style myself and find myself. I am 35 now and in a different phase so I don't request unless it is just to try to support someone. I am sure that as far as radio it is a younger audience, am I right? On the other hand, I am the first in line to purchase on iTunes.

Don't miss the early 90's (41,441) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I can't be the only person who is totally fine with Mariah Mottola being a thing of the past. Yes she was adorable but much of that time she was also a complete bore, and like a piece of china you couldn't touch, I remember how I got two seconds with her at the Butterfly signing and was pushed away by her team (until she finally decided to end that phase and be herself more). So yes she is not the best at protecting her image now, she needs to take stock and down the dive BS and just be a living legend. But I do not miss the fake princess, the Honey era up until Emancipation of Mimi is my favorite, that is what I hope she can recapture and I feel it with this new song and look just not with the commitment and attitude.

Mariah has the power, will she use it? (41,440) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I am absolutely certain that Mariah will have another number one. She will and there is no doubt about it, she just has to want it bad enough and right now she just refuses to really play the reindeer games. I remember with the glitter era Sam Goody was giving away a free poster with the album and I got all the posters because the store couldn't sell the album. People gave up on M and she just isn't focused now much like that she is in a weird place. When she wants it she will chart, and I very much expect this album to be wonderful, but maybe she wants to sit on the thrown and not fight with the newbies, be a songwriter, mom, wife, stay in the studio.

Lambs what are your top five likes and dislikes of the new era? (41,317) by Me. I am Carly from USA
Mine top five likes:
1) I love the way she is dressing, simple black dresses and colors illustrates how naturally beautiful she is.
2) I love the new song style and her voice on it.
3) I think the amount of promo is amazing.
4) I enjoy her sharing little highlights of life with Dem Babies.
5) I actually enjoy hearing about Nick but why not show gratitude for having a guy that loves you or just say straight up that you are sad because you miss him.
Top five dislikes:
1) The much discussed bland beauty shots, get moving M the video was like a jet that never took off, because it seemed to self conscious.
2) The lack of a no person on her team.
3) Excess drinking, replace the bubbly with coffee, therapy, exercise?
4) Not answering questions, if you don't like the question say it.
4) Over the top diva antics.
5) Lack of faith, not expressing her gratitude.

From a non lamb (41,246) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I forced my hubby (who is only vaguely aware of current Mariah) to watch the new video and he was annoyed because we had to turn off "Scandal". He said to me after viewing "I just don't get it, she looks sexy, but why is she holding her breasts the whole time? And who is that guy in the video?" Of course after that he couldn't stop humming "I can't seem to get you off my mind". Haha.

Response to "in character" (41,245) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I honestly believe she is feeling entitled and you know people do that like Patti Labelle, but on Mariah it looks strange because you can see the angst and insecurity right through her. In the MTV interview she said she had been up since six (splashes didn't help) so maybe part the issue including diet (she is tiny right now). I think she wishes she didn't have to do the circuit. I think she resents not being home with dem babies and Nick being around for comfort. Who knows, maybe her hormones are changing? At the end of the day, I think she resents having to fight for popularity.

Mariah is reading posts or her people are (41,244) by Me. I am Carly from USA
It seems very clear to me that Mariah is aware of what the lambs and others are saying. I.E. when she was doing the MTV interview she kept saying "Wait, what was the question?" and trying to spiral back to it. She also said she wasn't trying to throw Nick under the bus, which people have been posting about being bothered by. Another thing she said is that she is trying to be real and please fans so I think that is her dilemma. I do think she has a hard time pleasing her own standards and those of others. At the end of the day it is her life but we can't help wanting the best for her.

Gearing up for album / best Mariah moments (40,951) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I am so excited, I can't wait for the album! I love Mariah in that tan swimsuit. Lovely. So I want to daydream a bit back into my best Mariah moments (I know, I'm obnoxious, but I can't help it). What are your best Mariah moments? Mine has to be meeting her at the Rainbow sighting in NYC and then giving a bracelet she wore on Oprah and then having her tell me later that she marketed it for Automatic Princess at Claire's, because I told her I had gotten the bracket there.

Frustration waiting (40,877) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I have been frustrated with the wait as most of you have, so I went back and was looking at all kinds of old albums songs ect.ect. And there is just no way to deny that this woman is magical, so I am certain the new album will be amazing. We get frustrated because we know what she can do and it is so hard to wait for it. Mariah always surprises us and she will again.

Tina / Mariah's new era image (40,800) by Me. I am Carly from USA
There is an article about Tina Turner talking about her comeback where Tina's voice is described as raspy. I think Mariah could be described the same way today. I really like the idea of seeing Mariah facing the age in her wonderfully campy, I am gonna do me kind of way. I have noticed that Mariah is wearing a lot of the black leather, very Tina. It would be good for her to really focus on the legs more like Tina too, so not so revealing but still cool and sexy.

Age / nothing but a number (40,798) by Me. I am Carly from USA
What do you all think about a song or album with a defiant age edge? Like "Nothing but a number". Mariah is still doing very well next to female singers of her age (bothers me that men don't struggle to stay popular). With kids and trying to do it all, maybe we could get a ain't no superwoman type of so from Mariah. I can't remember who did that song. Would be hilarious to have Mariah just show how she has it. I think of the edge that Tina Turner had with her comeback in the eighties and think of Mariah having that kind of album maybe.

Miss M the queen (40,071) by Me. I am Carly from USA
I agree with people who are saying age is an issue. But mostly I think that is a good look on Mariah, in the sense that the popular young artists are mostly being forced into genres and showing their bodies with very little understanding of the power they power they truly have. Mariah has so much more in her life now that she can be herself and speak her mind, she was so abused and mistreated by her earlier record companies and I believe that she does have much more control and would choose that over number one hits any day. As far as her live singing, she was just such a musical freak out the gate that there is no way she can't hit that live anymore, there are either going to be changes to the music or she will lip sync I much prefer her changing chords and just gives us the voice she has which is still so compelling and lovely.
