18 unrealesed jems/ultrenative number ones (53,892)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
18. Yours - This would have blown up with the rumoured duet with JT. 17. Thanx for nothing - Oh oh oh oh oh oh. Need I say more lol? 16. Melt away - Mid tempo perfection would have done well in the charts in that era. 15. You got me - This is one sexy tune that was overlooked. 14. I have been thinking about you - One of Mariahs best uptempo tracks. 13. More than just friends - One of the many jems from Memoirs never to be released. 12. OOC - This had potential. 11. Meteorite - Am I the only one wishing this was the new single instead of "infinity"? It was fresh and a new direction from all the bouncy and predictable hip hop. 10. Exgirlfriend - This was so on piont at that time. 9. That chick - Another jam that would have been big. 8. All in your mind - This was so good then and even now. 7. Lead the way - Increadible vocals. 6. When I saw you - This should have been a single instead of "Forever". 5. Migrate - Why, why, why was this not a single? 4. Underneath the stars - This is one of her best songs ever. 3. Close my eyes - This combined with a great video would have been really effective. 2. Betcha gon know - This song would have been number one because it was different from anything she had ever done. It was sexy, daring, brave and it would have killed in the charts. 1. There for me - For this song never to be released is the biggest travesty in music. Her voice, the lyrics and melody is just one of the best things I have ever heared. To think that I only found this song out about five years ago is just crazy.

Really Mariah? Hating on your old videos? Its a very silly move to be frank. I can now see the fame has really changed you. Those were the songs that made you what you are today, not the hip hop trash that is ruinning your career. Infinity is not a great song, that is why it is not in the charts. Where is the video by the way? The hunger is gone now and I don't think she cares anymore. Sorry guys, I just had to rant because she is losing me by the day.

My top 3 number ones (53,641)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
1. Hero - Her signature song. The song that made her a megastar. Need I say more? 2. We belong together - Her comeback track and my, what a comeback. 3. One sweet day - The longest running number one single in history. The way her voice blends with the boys was just heaven.

Mirror man (52,666)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
I wish Mariah's news single was Ella Hendersons "Mirror Man". Something more classic and mature than "Infinity". I dont understand where she is at musically. She is really letting her fans down. Great songs like "Meteorite will be left as album cuts and then she releases "Infinity" as a single? I'm tired of defending her when she is bent on ruining her legacy. I give up.

I hope / Nick (52,025)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
I hope Mariah's new single is not a "part 2" of any song please. If she is going to have another top ten it has to be something outside of the box. I know it's a hard thing for her and its frustrating. I hope it's a big uptempo number. Those bouncy rnb numbers while they are great don't really do much chartwise. I hope she has learnt her lesson. Meteorite was amazing but she didn't promote it. Almost Home was great and so beautiful. In fact the latter would have been a huge hit if the video wasn't so awkward. Nick Cannon should just go away. I know he has kids with Mariah but he is just a leach. Sorry guys.

A game (50,845)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
Mariah has to bring her A game now that she is back with sony. No more mocking about, she needs abig single asap. A duet with Beyonce would be amazing for her number ones album. A big uptempo number that would be a smash before people start to criticise. A song in the line of Bananarama's "Cruel summer". Now that would be epic. Just saying.

New sound (50,313)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
I wish Mariah would do a duet with Beyonce for her new number ones album. With Beyonces fan base and her own fans eating the song up, it will definately be a hit. Lets face it at this point she needs a monster hit. She needs a big uptempo track. Mariah should do something different now while she still has the chance. The reason she has not had a hit in years is because she has refused to move on from the style of music she has been producing. That's just it, it's not rocket science. Her best tracks for the past five years have been "Triumphant Pulse Remix", "Almost Home" and "#Beautiful". That is a sign for her to switch to more uptempo numbers.

New direction (50,128)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
EDM will be an amazing direction to go for Mariah to be honest. Metereotite is a revelation but as usual bad decisions prevented that song to soar. Songs in that vein would be really great. Triumphant Pulse Remix was stunning but yet again it took the back seat from the uproar the original caused. I will keep saying this hoping she hears, people are sick of the rap collabos. Her videos too need a real artistic and abstract direction instead of all the"look at me I am so sexy" videos. She needs a serious change in direction now. Times have changed and video views go a long way for a hit these days. Her best video I think is Dreamlover, she was carefree and beautiful in that video without all that akwardness her latest videos seem to have. She needs a serious damage control, go on Oprah and other talk shows and talk sincerely about everything that is going on. Her voice, new music, current music stars or even create a reality show with fans making up beats and lyrics for you and then choose a winner to write and produce some of your singles. Just saying.

New sound (50,081)

I pray Mariah works with new producers this time. Someone like The Weekend would be amazing and maybe do some collabos with David Guetta or Calvin Harris. More big uptempo numbers would be great. Just saying.

Number ones (50,065)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
If Rhianna can score a top ten with four, five seconds, we have a problem. She is currently at number 6. Mariah should seriously wake up now because Rhianna means business. Someone that sings with sir Paul is looking for a number one hit. Mariah needs a monster hit. A big uptempo number in the realm of uptown funk, something really massive that people will find hard to resist. She needs a song that will be bigger than any negative press, a song that people can really groove to. With this upcoming number ones album, she could release about 5 new tracks with big hit makers. The hip hop has to go now, back to pop/rnb grooves. She could even throw in a few edms into mix. She should basically try new things. No more rap collabos because it has been beaten to death. Please Mariah, your fans will be seriously let down if someone like Rhianna surpasses you.

Pop album (49,982)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
I don't know what Mariah is doing, Rhianna is really trying to take her crown of number ones. I just hope this doesn't happen because it will be a travesty. Her new song with Kanye and Paul McCarthney is gaining ground. Mariah can't think outside the box of hip hop anymore, it's just frustrating. Since 2007 there hasn't been one smart move, it is either [...] part two to infinity or rent a rapper song, awkward videos, tacky clothes or bad live performances. She needs to come out her bubble, times have changed. Her last three albums have been the same kind of songs it so frustrating. Someone please come to this woman's aid. [...] was a nice change but no promotion, Beautiful was soaring until the video came out and we all know how that one went. Meteorite was fantastic but no promotion. If she released a pop album she will be back on the map and that's the honest truth. After [...] she should have switched back to pop instead of continuing with hip hop to this day and it so tired now its been beaten to death. I hope and pray Mr LA [...] works his magic on her so we can have Mariah back.

Moving on (49,787)
by George Golden from UK
| |

Mariah has still got it but right now the whole thing is a PR disaster. God help Mariah because she is still the hottest female artist to ever grace the stage. That guy that she married has really affected her. Why can't she just get over him, make herself look better and make a new killer album? She has the voice still. Right now she is letting her fans down with less than star quality with her dressing, live performances and interviews. If she can reinvent herself and release fresh new sounds or even a dance album would be amazing. Or why not do some movie soundtracks? Or collaborate with popular stars of now like Bruno, Beyonce, Rhianna etc. She needs to come of her shell. Another thing is the yes people around her which I feel is very toxic for her progress.

Wishing (49,436)

I was just thinking if Mariah had a new album and had these songs in it: 1. Sugar - Maroon five 2. Human - Cristina Perry 3. This is how we do - Katty Perry 4. Triumphant - Pulse remix 5. Beautiful 6. Take me to church - Hoziah 7. Mr bright eyes - Rebecca Ferguson 8. You're mine - Eternal 9. Only love - Paloma Faith 10. Almost home I tell you if she could release an album in this vein she will have a massive seller. She still has the best recording voice and all she needs is to give hip hop a break and she will be back on top. Oh well one can only wish. What do you guys think?

When will Mariah come out of her comfort zone and come out with a killer album? I mean she is really killing her career with luckluster albums. The last two albums have been a let down. Rhianna is coming out soon and I pray she does not pass Mariah's record because that will be a travesty. Why can't she come out with a pop record that will transcend a wider market? She has got the best vioce, but she has totally limited herself to singing childish tunes. If she ups her game and forget about the rappers, by the way where are they on her tour, she will be massive again.

Katy Perry (45,752)
by George Golden from UK

So Katy Perry feels she has reached the level where she can mock a legend like Mariah Carey. With her bogus facebook likes and bogus twitter followers, she feels she is on top. How many albums has she sold? Does she stand out with a unique voice? Does she have a catalouge like Mariah? She is not on Mariah's level so she should just take several seats.

Meteorite (45,438)
by George Golden from UK

What is Mariah doing? Where is the video for the single? Why is she turning her back on this album? The days of I will make a better album is past. The problem is not the material, it is just her image, videos, promos or lack thereof. Why is Mariah giving up on her fans and music? We love your posts of pictures but we need your music. Your first single should have been Meteorite, because it's different and fresh from you. With a killer video it would have drawn people's attention. The public is tired of your hip hop collaborations. It has past its sell by date. So many wasted oportunities. There's nothing special about the current single, that's why it's not being played. Cry should've be the second single, then Faded and last Money.

My favourite video has to be Dreamlover. She looked effortlessly cute in shorts and checked shirt. Oh I miss those days when she did not try too hard, now everything is forced. My least favourite video is #Beautifull. That song would have gone straight to the top if it wasnt for that video. Everything about it was cringe worthy.

5 things (44,593)
by George Golden from UK
| |
|
|
There are a lot of things I feel are holding Mariah back. 1. If you want to be compared to the Beatles and Elvis, you have to be universal. I'm not saying RNB is not universal, it's just that she is restricting herself to hip hop. This new album is great but the single choices have put people off. 2. Meteorite is like no other song she has ever done. Why not release it now with a festive video? Promote the hell out of it. It's a banger. It's the summer and it's the world cup. Why not make it feel an unofficial tournament anthem? 3. Image, image, image. If Mariah can change her image both dress sence and stage presence, she would be more appreciated. 4. Please be done with the rap collabos, it's frustrating at this point. Your voice was meant to stand alone. 5. With this album you still show you are the best female artist ever.

Peace (43,959)
by George Golden from UK

I seem to have upset some people on this board. I know I have been critical of Mariah in the few months leading to this album. I was just frustrated with all the missteps leading to this album. All I am saying from the three new songs I have heard and the response to this album from the iTunes listening, a lot of non fans and critics are really digging it. So lets not start criticizing too soon. Above all it's a great album from all indications. No need for us to argue. It's going to be a great era. Peace.

One more try (43,944)
by George Golden from UK

People who don't like Mariah are on this message board in my opinion. How can you complain about a cover of a song not been better than the original? Is George Micheal better than Mariah? I don't think so. Why can't we praise this amazing body of work instead of critizing it. No female singer today can make an album of this greatness today. Please no criticizing, it's just too early for this. This is one of her her best albums ever.
