Oh why? (43,600)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Oh why? This is her worst song ever. What is going on? Is this the same Mariah that sang Hero, Vison of love, Anytime you need a friend? What is she singing? She is getting worse. Please protect your legacy and stop this crap music. I listened to the song again today and all I could do was cringe. Truimphant was a million times better than this song. I guess with this new song people can now see why she added three songs from her last album, there's just no inspiration. Ever since 1997 when she started this hip hop thing it has just been downhill. I am already cringing thinking of what the video will be like. Mariah is loosing it big time right before our eyes and she will be the last person to know it. Sad.

Just heared a bit of "Thirsty".I dont know what to make of it. It's the hip hop thing I dont get at all. Why is she still doing all this hip hop bouncy tracks? Beautiful was amazing and fresh sound and direction for her. I will buy the album because I love Mariah, but I am sad to say Mariah can not connect to the general public this way. I don't know why she has become like this. Does Mariah even know the demograph of her fanbase?

Hope for the best (43,402)
by George Golden from UK
| |

Why is the Japanese album cover so much better than the other two? Who makes these choices? It should have been the original cover or even the Billboard cover pic should have been perfect. Oh why does everything this era seem so amateur? I hope the album debuts at number one, please we can't afford to have anything less than a number one album. The funny thing is that there sure will be better songs on there than what we have gotten so far. Single choices are a big problem with Mariah. Oh well lets hope for the best.

I see a lot some fans are not happy with fans complaining about miss Carey. Well as a fan I love Mariah to bits and want to see her do well. I can not love everything she does. She is an amazingly beautiful woman, but anytime she does sexy it somehow does not translate very well, be it a video or magazine cover. Beautiful was ruined by the video. The way she was acting turned a lot of people off. I can't really tell her what to do, but I just feel she was a billion times better when she did not try too hard.

Expectations (43,059)
by George Golden from UK
| |
From the look of that magazine cover Mariah is not going to "let go" of her "sexy image". I think she doesn't really care about the music anymore, just how she looks. It's sad because I don't really have a great expectation for the new album because she is imprisoned by that hip hop barbie image. The music is suffering. Every song has to have a rapper. Every video has to be tacky and trashy. It's frustrating to see such an amazing star fall from grace. The music is not evolving, still the same hip hop beats from 2005 ruining what would be great songs. The sexy thing is just so overplayed now, it's beyond ridiculous. If you are sexy and beautiful, you don't have to try hard at it. The Mariah Carey that most of us fell in love with is sadly not here anymore.

5 things (42,981)
by George Golden from UK
| |
1. How amazing does Mariah look with her natural hair colour on that Billboard cover? I never got the " blonde look". It's been too long now, please go back to your natural look. Lol. 2. Please no rap collaborations. It's so overplayed at this piont and it's what turns a lot of your fans away. 3. More uptempo groovy numbers, a few EDM won't hurt at all. People want to have fun and they need feel good music. Bring on those uptempos. 4. No more trashy and tacky videos please. We need videos with a great storyline. Sexy and classy. 5. Come clean about your voice. If you can't really sing live that much, you can say that and avoid some of those questionable live performances. If your voice was damaged, you can say it. It won't hurt you at all. You still have one of the best voices ever. So bring on this new era asap.

Jermaine (42,541)
by George Golden from UK
| |
The problem is not Jermaine, it's Mariah herself. She is not going to have a hit record if she does not stop that rnb hip hop music that she has been stuck with since 97. I wonder if she would be who she is now if she had started with all this hip hop. I don't get her at all. The "I am so sexy" image is overplayed, the videos are tacky, for instance Beautiful would have hit number one if it wasn't for that video. She has lost that thing that made her special. We fell in love with your voice not your body. You can be sexy without been tacky. Her music has not grown since. Every song now is a mid tempo jam. It's just ridiculous or maybe she doesn't care anymore. Triumphant Pulse remix should have been released as the original single. We need big upbeat numbers like Emotions, That Chick, LYLT. Please bin the rappers, it's enough at this point. They are ruining your work and your legacy. You are not kidding anyone that you are hood.

Nick (42,392)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Nick Cannon is at it again. What exactly was he thinking talking the way he did about his wife? Mariah is at an all time low and Nick is really bringing her further down. I suspect ,and this is my opinion, that Nick wants out. I feel he wants to leave the marriage but Mariah is too in love to break up. I don't see any other reason why he should be acting the way he has been recently and he is seriously embarassing her. Poor Mariah, just look at the mess she has to put up with because of love. Her music and image has gone downhill because she wants to be ghetto to please him. It's such a shame. The music is suffering. Lambs are starving for new material. I just pray she gets it together real soon.

Mariah (42,100)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Triumphant Pulse remix, Almost Home, Beautiful are amazing singles that shows that Mariah has still got it. These songs should have been properly promoted. People are still into Mariah, they are just sick of her trying so desperately to be hood. She didn't start off like this only after she started doing hip hop she became an addict. I've been listening to her older tracks and I just cant believe how amazing she was, reminding me why I love her so much. Please Mariah go back to your roots and stop all these hip hop ballads, it just ridiculous at this point. You're Mine could have been an amazing song if it wasn't produced like We Belong Together. Now she has run off again to go and bring another single and predictably the same style. Really frustrating to think that someone thinks they can keep doing the same thing and get a different result each time. All she is intrested in now is to force her nakedness down our throats. Lol. It's a shame because her husband can't tell her it's bad, her manager can't tell her it's bad and even her friends can't advice her. Because she is running the show like she has always wanted. I just pray she releases the damn album already.

Why (41,841)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Why oh why can't Mariah leave this hip hop image she has been stuck with since 96? So many things going wrong. Where are the big uptempos like Someday, It's Like That, Honey etc. She needs a big comeback single. This We Belong Together type of midtempos is outdated. When Mariah came out with her first album, adult contemporary music was huge that was why she had four numbers ones from that album, because it was an adult contemporay album. Artists grow and evolve and rnb can be mixed with almost any other genre. Pop is huge now and she should go back to her pop roots with big piano ballads and big uptempo number gosh she has got a killer voice. What is going on? I think her problem is an identity issue. Nobody is going to take your blackness from you if you do a pop album. She has to realise things need to change fast, her image and music needs to change if she wants to remain relevant. Her management needs to change, bring in creative people, not your friends. Tacky videos need to end now. Bring on the big groovy tracks that will hardly get unoticed,l et go of the rappers, yes that's right. Enough already. Mariah please come back and reclaim your throne.

Mariah (41,290)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Why is Mariah still doing the same song and video over and over again? We know you are beautiful, but enough with all this naked videos. She is predictable, it's a joke now. It kills me to see people saying she is doing fine when apparently all is not well. Try something different, don't paint the same picture over and over again. What is Jermaine doing as her manager? She has got yes people around her and the creativity has stalled. Her friend is her stlylist, her friend is her manager, it's really sad the way she is going. Tommy was very influencial in making her the star she is today and it is evident now. Her wanting to be black more than anything else has ruined her seriously. Wanting to do hip hop tracks and rnb has resticted her from growth and it's really sad. You guys can thump down my comments but the truth is hard to swallow. The song is mediocre at best. Is she afraid to sing? What's going on? Her voice is amazing but she is still bent singing songs that she feels is black music. Sing for everyone that is why you are Mariah Carey. Having yes people around her is going to harm her career seriously. Did Jermaine think that this song and video were amazing? Really?

New single (40,987)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Trey sings? Really? Mariah does not care about the charts anymore. Oh well she had a good run. It will be a travesty if that girl surpasses her records of number one hits because she is really chasing her. Where are the big uptempo groovy numbers? I seriously suspect this song is a mid tempo ballad. That's gonna go nowhere, then she will abandon it and retreat again. Same old look, same "We belong together" wannabe tracks, same collabos with rnb male stars. Nothing new. She is just getting worse I swear. I love Mariah so much and it's a shame she is still bent on doing the same things over and over again. If the song is great like Beautiful, she will ruin it with a horrible video, if the album is great, she will release the wrong singles. Just because you are releasing a song on Valentine's Day does not make it a hit. Mariah, people, not only fans, need big uptempo groovy numbers and feel good tracks that are too good to ignore. She is so wanting to be all the things that are beneath her. Why not a duet with either Pharrel or Justin Timberlake, Robin Thicke, Bruno Mars if she is really serious about getting another hit.

New album (40,787)
by George Golden from UK
| |
What is going on with Mariah? Where is the music and where is the album? I am really frustrated with this era. Everything regarding her nowadays is so out of place. Why can't she reinvent herself and come up with an album with groovy tunes and social awareness? She needs to get her act together. She needs to get herself some respect in the industry. I am happy that she is now married with kids but it just seems after marrying that guy she just went downhill and everything is like one big comedy. I love Mariah, that is why I am venting. I hope her new collaboration is with Pharell, Jay-Z or even Justin Timberlake, because she needs a killer uptempo groovy track that needs to be too good to be ignored. All that ghetto wanna be should end now please.

New album (40,382)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Another single? Please. What happens then if it is not well received? She then abandons it and everyone throws a tantrum. Mariah should move with the times and realise that her name alone will not sell a song. She needs to reinvent herself and that's the beauty of rnb, you can have it mixed with rock, jazz, funk, dance. That's right, dance music. She should revamp her image and create a stir. New hairstyle, new stylist, new management and not employ her friends because it is really bad for her business obviously. I don't understand those fans that say all is well when it clearly isn't. If we as fans do not see this, then there is a problem. You can keep doing the same thing and expect a different result. Just drop the album. No more upfront singles, no more over the top "trying to be sexy" videos. It's really dead and gone at this piont.

The art of letting go (40,180)
by George Golden from UK
| |
Rihanna is on a roll now guys. 13 number ones. What is Mariah doing? It will be a travesty if Rihanna surpasses her number ones. I am not happy with what is going on with Mariah's career. After she had her 18th number one, she just became lazy thinking she is on top. But look at it now. Rihanna is a serious threat to her. Triumphant Pulse remix would have been her 19 number one, Almost Home could have been a top ten hit with good promotion, Beautiful would have been her 20th with a great artistic video and promo. "The art of letting go" is an album track and it should have never been released as a single. Mariah should "let go" of her ego and make an album of dance and uptempo tracks. It's not the 90s anymore, if you want to stay relevant you must move with the times.

Venting (39,631)
by George Golden from UK
| |
I hope this new single will be amazing. Number one? Maybe. Honestly, I really don't care if Mariah does not have another number because it seems so obvious to everyone that she is trying to get a number one record. She needs to understand that she has lost that magic she had when she first came out. Back then her music spoke for her and now it seems she is doing all the talking without the music. Her insistence on doing the same kind of music over and over again has become so tired. Rent a rapper, hip hop collabos is so 2002. I love Mariah, but she has really put herself down in the game. If she comes out with a great record, she puts people off with a lame and tacky video. Beautiful is the best rnb song released this year, but the video and lack of promotion just killed that one. Mariah needs to come out with a new image, sexy but classy, more serious and mature manner. The new song is not out yet, but we already have an" I am too sexy" promo pic. She needs an image overhaul. It's frustrating because she is the best.

Reinvention (39,360)
by George Golden from UK
| |

Mariah should get real and leave the past behind. All these collabos are just getting tired. She needs to reinvent herself. How about a ballad and dance record combo? A song that start slow and then picks up then goes back slow and runs for 10 minutes? That would be amazing. I am afraid to say this new album won't bring anything new from all indications. She just won't let the hip hop thing go. I am happy for Mariah now that she is a mum, but sorry guys, I have to say Nick Cannon is really bringing her down. Since they hooked up, everything has been so cheesy and unserious. He is putting an album out soon. Lord help us. And don't get me started on his new single. Please Mariah, go back to what made you a star in the first place. Ever since that ODB remix she has just turned into something else.

Triumphant (38,970)
by George Golden from UK
| |
I just listened to "Triumphant Pulse Remix" and I almost shed a tear. Why was that remix not the original? Mariah would have had another number one with that one. Why is this era so shaky? All other artists are aiming for her crown and yet she has stalled. Mariah, please get it together. No one wants to listen to you singing with rappers anymore. It's so tired. Re-invent yourself, your looks, your sound, we need something fresh. Rnb is great because it can have any type of vibe, retro, uptempo dance, acoustic. It just can be anything.
