MC is fearless (51,899) by Dove from USA If you want good things to happen, you have to expect good things to happen. Mariah Carey is fearless. She isn't afraid of failure or success. When she is working, she is the hardest working person in the industry. Her last album was excellent. That was her job as the artist and she came through. I don't blame her for not wanting to be in the spotlight 24/7 during her separation. There were rumors that her former label didn't give her a budget for promo. At first I thought she should spend her own money to make videos, pay for airplay, etc. But I changed my mind. Why should the label make money from her album when she's the one taking the risk and making a personal investment? I would have left and found others who believe in me too. Andrew (51,787) by Dove from USA Mariah is not mistreating or disrespecting anybody. Please stop being so dramatic. You're right, Mariah Carey is a multimillionaire who doesn't need my money. But there are many forms of payment. If the fans united we could pay her/thank her with another #1. I don't feel like I'm paying for the "exact" same thing because I don't have all of these songs together in CD quality. I'm even going to buy more to give as gifts to my nieces, they don't have these songs at all. It's not that I'm "revered" here, it's that a lot of us are like minded and still like and appreciate Mariah as she is now. I'm just the one who happens to post the most. I don't know what I said that triggered you to start mocking me or throwing low blows but whatever it was I apologize. You shade me like I'm supposed to feel ashamed but God already healed me. I'm thankful for the darkness because without it I wouldn't know what it's like to shine my light. The God I believe in always comes through, so you're putting your hope in the right hands. He healed my mom from depression, my dad from alcoholism (11 years sober), and transformed him into a great husband, father, and grandfather. I've accomplished everything I've ever set out to do in my life with nothing but faith, determination, and an optimistic outlook. I learned that from Mariah. So yeah, I am eternally grateful. Andrew and others (51,753) by Dove from USA Andrew, if Mariah wanted Terence Fletcher in charge of her career she would have stayed with Tommy Mottola. Mariah still makes songs that are good enough to be hits, her last album was full of them. She said from the beginning that this was an update of the original #1's album and that it would include all of her number ones. Of course, like everybody else, I would have loved to get a bonus CD with unreleased tracks and the demos as an incentive for pre-ordering, but that was never what was advertised. When The Beatles released their #1's album, the fans weren't throwing a fit because they didn't get extras. It's a #1's album. It is what it is. Why is it even our business how much she drinks or eats? Andrew I do respect your opinions and this is not me trying to tell you how to feel. This is just me sharing my thoughts in response to your post. I am pre-ordering the new album when I get home later because even though I already have all of her #1's, she is my favorite artist and I want to keep her in business. In order for her to want to keep being a famous celebrity (instead of going away to enjoy her life and family like she could) we have to give her an incentive. Nobody works for free. One song / photoshop / peterpaul /B (51,719) by Dove from USA I'm glad there is only one new song, that way when Infinity hits #1 they will all be number 1's. Not everyone still has all of her CD's like we do, guys, and 19 hits is still pretty generous. If MC is marketed right, then all the kids will want to know her music, and this is a good place to start them. I'm sure there will be another album with all new music soon. I don't think she looks that different on the cover than how she looked on Ellen. You can tell it's retouched and airbrushed but I don't think it's drastic. Gloria / Gisselle / RJJ12 (51,680) by Dove from USA Thank you Gloria. Gisselle, I meant to respond to your post to me yesterday but I didn't know what to say. Even though my parents are still together, adult children of alcoholics have abandonment issues too. I've read a lot self help books in my life. One I really liked is Women Who Love Too Much by Robin Norwood. My ex husband and I were together from when we were teens until last year, so I never had to deal with being left by a partner myself until recently, but in the book the author talks about what you described. It's really helpful and eye opening. You should read it, I think you'll like it. RJJ12 and Gisselle you guys need to be more specific with examples and who you're referring to because I don't know what you guys are talking about. I haven't seen anyone be crucified on here in a long time. Disagreeing with others and stating one's opinion is not the same as crucifying. If anything I feel like everyone, including myself, has been more tolerant lately. People have stated that if they don't like the types of posts certain members write, they just stop reading their posts altogether instead of going off on them. Maybe that's why it seems like some people get free rein. (Monday 13 April 2015; 5:14)

Pumped for Vegas (51,541) by Dove from USA I watched the YT video for VOL in Jamaica that was mentioned here yesterday and it blew me away. She sounds incredible. Before I had only seen a shorter clip. The part Jon mentioned where she starts singing weird and then says, "I'm just kidding" had me smiling and chuckling. She's so funny. Then, someone mentioned live performances, so I listened to the Pearl Palms album (which I hadn't meant to buy, but I had the one click purchase button thing on so I bought it by mistake) and she sounds great on every song except for Hero. I'm kind of glad I accidentally bought it because it isn't available anymore. I am so pumped and excited about Vegas now. Her singing may not be up to some people's standards but it's definitely good enough for me. Mariah Carey still has the best voice I've ever heard in my life. (Friday 10 April 2015; 4:06)
