As I said if Mariah is such a mess, and lost her touch why continue to support her? Again I am sure none of us are perfect all the time. Yes it is sad when she is not her best when we all know what she is capable of. However we can not change what has already been done. Touring as we know is a major way for many artists to make a living besides album sales, endorsements, and publishing. Personally I feel like MC should take some time away from the stage because she has been touring nonstop since 2014. I think that she has more than earned some down time after this Vegas run. But ultimately she has to make the best decision for herself.

Difference of opinion (92,863)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

I can respect another person's opinion that is different from mine. However if your main objective is to be negative, and disrespectful that I have an issue with. Yes we might not like things about MC but to keep harping on the same things that we cannot fix is pointless. At this point we have to either accept that Mariah and her voice has changed and still be supportive, or just move on entirely and support other artists who tickle your fancy. But you can still cherish the moments, and memories that made you a fan.

I have noticed that you become apart of the negative bunch as well, what point does it serve to be negative towards someone who you claim to respect and love? Or is being negative is how you men express your love in the UK? Again being negative does not mean being honest. Also I guess you are perfect with everything that you do. Because the last time I checked we all have limitations at some point no matter who you or how great you were. Our bodies change every day. Again MC is human just like the rest of us, and yes she has been considered one of the best to ever do it. But again if you can no longer appreciate or respect what is left of her talent, I think that you should move onto other artists who talents, and arts you have desire, and respect for, and stop bashing MC to those who still love, respect, and admire what she has done, and continues to do.

Andrew I have to admit that you truly a grinch if everything about Mariah nowadays bothers you why continue to come on this message and speak your disdain for daily? Honestly if you no longer can appreciate her, or her talent simply move on, and let the people who still enjoy, and appreciate her allow them to do in peace. You have stated the same issues for quite some time now, and it is quite annoying at this point. If you want Mariah from a certain time there is always YouTube. Either accept that she has limitations just like the rest of the world, or move on and support other artists that you enjoy today.

ASCAP (92,839)

I personally think besides the publishing and licensing rights to her catalog of music I am sure that MC has not fulfilled her journey as an artist so I know she some more music to come. Besides that I do not think her contact with Epic is done just yet. I believe that it was a multi album deal. So again I do believe that she will be around until she is ready to call it a day.

This move to ASCAP is definitely a sure thing that MC will be around so all those saying that she should can it think again because she has other plans.

Expectations (92,816)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
When you look at an artist of Mariah's caliber, and the success that she has had expectations are always high. But I have come to the realization that Mariah is human just like the rest of us no matter how great she may be. She has given all of us moments to be grateful for, and just because she may not be able to exceed my expectations of her like she used to more times than not, my love for her art has not wavered. As humans we are not always going to like something that our favorite people might do but they does not mean that we should bash or make them feel less than, sometimes we have to look at our expectations for ourselves, and stop placing them on our favorite entertainers, and celebrities.

Missing in action (92,774)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
The reason that MC has been missing in action I believe that she is working on her memoir, as well as preparing for her Vegas return, on top of that she is probably getting her down time, and enjoying time with her children. Because I think that she has some other things in store that we are not privy to as of yet.

New music (92,763)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Unless M has been in the studio under the radar, I do not think we should expect a new album this year. I believe that M is probably putting ideas together as far as collaborators and maybe trying to figure out what direction she would like to explore this era. But then again I could be wrong and M might be 4-6 songs into a new album, but time will tell. For me as long as she gives us another quality album I will be satisfied.

Ester Dean (92,687)

Speaking of people who have never worked with Mariah before. I think that MC, and Ester Dean can write some fun uptempo songs together that can bridge the pop and B sound that will make MC and the masses happy. I think that they can write two to three bangers together. What do you guys think?

Breakdown video (92,686)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
To me the Breakdown video along with The Roof are two of MC’s sexiest videos without a doubt. She was absolutely out of this world in those videos. Nothing was out of place nor over the top to where it became awkward. The videos for this era were some of our girl's best even now. I still watch two videos today and get mesmerized at the beauty and sexiness that comes from the screen. What a time.

Hip pop (92,647)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |

Mariah is credited with bridging the gap between pop and hip hop for female artists which is the formula today. Also the remix was also a number 1 song as well as the original. No one expected MC to pair with ODB and there [sic] creation would become the standard for female pop artists.

Tour (92,554)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Putting Trey Songz on any songs did nothing to help Mariah at all. She is a fan of hip hop and R&B and I respect that but at this point Trey Songz is not who he once was. He got hot after radio and the masses turned on CB after the Rihanna situation. Again I respect your opinion, however I just don’t think touring with Trey Songz would be beneficial to her at all.

Tour (92,541)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|

Robert Anthony while I appreciate your contributions on the message board that tour line up is not for MC or her demographic. That would be a great tour for Keyshia Cole or Jazmine Sullivan but it's way off base for MC in my opinion. Mariah if anyone should tour with Maxwell that would grown and catering to the right demographic. Trey Songz fits more of the Chris Brown, and Drake audience. Lionel Ritchie was the perfect fit even though an odd pairing.

Roger (92,518)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
His issue with MC is that she no longer wants no parts of him, he has had it out for MC since she let Cindi and PMK go from representation, ever since then he has been on a negative campaign, and to add fuel to that when they seen each other at an industry event during the nightmare era, Stella tried to keep him away from Mariah the entire time. Not to mention he claims that he was given the wrong contact information to reach MC. Not to say that MC is above the law but his point in mentioning lawsuits was to discredit MC notice he has not done this to any previous inductees. Again Roger is sucking on sour grapes.

With You (92,506)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
With You is definitely about Bryan, the lyrics are definitely about her relationship with him. One of his favorite MC songs is Breakdown which the Bone Thugz reference. The Tupac references is because that is Bryan’s favorite rapper. Also she made references about getting to married to Packer, and Bryan rescuing her from the relationship with Packer. So With You is certainly about Bryan.

Tommy (92,502)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

Tommy even though he may have some wicked ways about him when it has come to our Mariah, he has given her credit as an amazing songwriter, and he also gave her credit on being the one that made him appreciate the gift, and art of songwriting. Also we have to credit Mariah herself for being smart enough to say that she wanted to write her own songs, and have that stipulation incorporated into her contact. Because she has had two different opportunities where she could have given her songs away, one to crappy publishing deal for 5K, and Brenda wanted to record some of MC’s songs for her own album but luckily MC was strong in her faith, and kept her songs for herself.

The next album (92,486)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
The next album should pay homage to 90’s Urban pop. I think Babyface would be a great touch as well for the next album because he and Mariah have always had great chemistry musically. Babyface, Dave Jam Hall, Dev Haynes, Missy Elliott for a good uptempo/club banger geared towards the ladies, Timbaland, Happy Perez, and one or two upcoming producers.

Robert Antony (92,485)

The difference is HER is working with a part of Alicia Keys' creative team from when she first became mainstream MBK entertainment and Jeff Robinson. She is a carbon copy of earlier A. Keys besides playing more instruments. As for Chris Brown he has made the same music for about three eras now he's just appeals to the young kids. No matter what producers and co-writers MC decided to work with what makes her music authentically her is that it sounds like Mariah as the case with Caution she worked with different people but the product itself was fresh but it still had Mariah all over it, and that's why you have to respect her writing and artistry because she stays true to herself no matter what.

Mariah / B (92,480)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |

Your summary of Caution is dead on. I agree with you Caution is a brilliant body of work that fits into Mariah's catalogue perfectly some people only respect, and love MC when she is topping the charts, while people such as yourself can appreciate MC for all of her artistry not just for when she is being appreciated by the masses or sticking to a specific genre, or formula.

Roger (92,477)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)

It’s no surprise that Roger would have something negative to say in regards to MC being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of fame, since Mariah cut him off once she dismissed Cindi Berger and PR firm from representation. Ever since then Roger has been salty, and unpleasant towards MC. So take everything that he says with a hint of anger, and being sour. Also Walter has not been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of fame as of yet, and I know it sucks in his eyes that Mariah will have that honor before him, since he has diminished her songwriting capabilities in recent years in different interviews.

Honestly (92,470)
by Gee from U.S.A. (New York City)
| |
|
|
Honestly speaking just because a fan enjoys one particular album over another that does not make them any less of a fan or supporter. I can appreciate what she with Caution just as much as I do Daydream which is for many Mariah's pinnacle. On the other hand lyrically I appreciate Charmbracelet but vocally I feel like something is missing. My point is that I love and appreciate Mariah's discography as a whole for what it is but some albums touch more than others. But it does not mean I am less than a fan or supporter than anyone else that posts here. We are all fans for different reasons, and we all prefer different albums/eras and our preferences should be respected. On another note Caution is in my top five favorite Mariah albums of all time.
