About Jeff from USA: MC lover from day one!

Oh, Nick (65,524) by Jeff from USA
Okay, so here's my disclaimer: I liked Nick. I think they were truly in love. Yes, both of them. I think it was real for them both, but life under the spotlight happened and they couldn't make it work at the end. That being said, MC is the mother of his children. Man up and do the right thing. If you know she is uncomfortable with you discussing sexual topics, then respect that and don't do it. Real men don't kiss and tell.

Webmaster questions (64,621) by Jeff from USA
Hello Webmaster, I apologize if you have answered this before, but would you be willing to share how you came to love MC? What "era" did you become a fan? Have you met her? I'm sure you put a great deal of time and effort into the site, and I very much appreciate what you do. Thanks in advance.

Darren's note (64,620) by Jeff from USA
Darren, I love your reply. As Breakdown is my all-time favorite song, I would love a new take on it musically and lyrically. I also have fond memories of the remixes My All (Stay Awhile), Heartbreaker (If You Should Ever Be Lonely), and I Still Believe (Pure Imagination). Brilliance.

Memories part 2 (64,611) by Jeff from USA
Many thanks to R and Edouard for your replies. Glad I'm not alone in my feelings. Haiji posted a great question in the "On another note" post. Let's support this type of posts and hopefully get others to join us. I thoroughly enjoyed replying to it.

On another note (64,610) by Jeff from USA
In reply, this would be what I would like in the next single. I want a throwback sound, in the vein of The Roof. I want that husky lower register. I want that mid chest. I want her to sang. If it's too much to do live, don't do it in the studio. It invites hate. Lyrics about what she knows best: love, loss, and late nights. I want Jermaine producing and I want him to remind her why she is called the voice. I want a remix featuring Beyonce with new lyrics, layers, and harmony like no one has heard in a decade. I want a club remix like the old David Morales days. I want a super traditional release: radio, video, iTunes, and go out and sing. Hit up Ellen. Hit up GMA. Hit up SNL. Hit up Fallon. Bring Mr. Lorenz and Ms. Tatum, and utilize them like you do on tour. Shut down the critics, aka sing it live with the amazing talent in your heart. Teach these naysayers why you are who you are and why you have staying power. And when they ask you how it feels to have #19, be that humble and courageous and beautifully strong butterfly that we love. With honor and respect, I bow down.

Memories (64,542) by Jeff from USA
Hi everyone, I am a longtime member. I rarely post, but check the site daily. I am not sure if I'm just missing the old days, but I loved the times when the board was sharing stories of encounters, what the music means to us, and getting to know each other. I don't know what I'm hoping for by posting this, but I long for the happier times. Am I alone?

Re: The most overrated song (62,443) by Jeff from USA
I have three: Hero, Heartbreaker, and Don't Forget About Us. (I know, I know.) Hero is inspirational for so many, but for me, I can tell that MC is tired of singing it, so I wish she could do something else. I would love to see her swap it out for something else, perhaps Close My Eyes. Heartbreaker was fun, cute, and is now ready for retirement. If we want to be festive, my vote would be for Shake It Off. Don't Forget About Us. I'm ready to forget it. I'm thinking Slipping Away would be much more enjoyable.

Re: Cause and effect (62,156) by Jeff from USA
First off, dahling, thank you for your post. It was insightful, well-written, and shows that you are a passionate fan. I was really impressed with your train of thought and agree with much of what you said. I particularly liked that you referenced Mariah's humility, something that I hope people see. I wonder sometimes if the playful, eternally-12-year-old diva persona is all that the general public sees. I hope not, as she has so much more depth than that. I'm so glad that MC is in a place in her life that she doesn't "need" another hit and can make the music that makes her happy, but I would never count her out. She has shown time and time again that she has the ear for music and knows what she is doing. Thanks for your post.

Re: Mariah Carey's collaborators share untold... (61,272) by Jeff from USA
This article was really interesting. I love to see the background of things that are classics now. Isn't it amazing how Mariah did things no one thought of before? It is really amazing to hear the respect from so many people, her talent, her musical ability, her raw energy, her keen understanding of what she is doing, amazing stuff.

O Holy Night (58,488) by Jeff from USA
Last night at the Beacon, MiMi slayed this song. She absolutely deserved the standing ovation. It was awesome to see Mary Ann and Trey with huge smiles on their faces. The voice is back, you all.

Survey (58,487) by Jeff from USA
I would love to hear a mash-up of The Roof/Breakdown. Although it would be sad to let any go, I could replace Dream Lover.

Flying in (58,413) by Jeff from USA
Hi everyone, I can't contain my excitement. I flew in last night from Austin, TX and am eagerly waiting for the Tuesday night show at the Beacon. I came last year, and will continue to come every year for what I hope will become an annual tradition. Wishing all the Lambs a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays.

90s MC vs. today's MC (57,285) by Jeff from USA
I think that 90s Mariah would be very proud of what she has accomplished in her life. She has two beautiful children and has had the success that she could not even have imagined. She can proudly say that she has been a role model for the broken, the wounded, those who struggle with their racial makeup, those struggling with their sexuality, and for countless fans that have been inspired and moved by her music. 90s MC would be able to proudly say that she is at a place in her life that she can finally make the music she wants to make and is not dependent upon commercial success. 90s Mariah would be proud that the fragile butterfly emerged victorious.

The queen of the remix (57,090) by Jeff from USA
I was feeling festive today, so I decided to break out some of my favorite remixes and I realized that, in many cases, the remixes are as good as the regular versions. That takes talent. Since it was a beautiful 60 degrees this morning in Austin, TX, here are my top 6. What are yours?
6. Breakdown (The Mo Thugs Remix)
5. Always Be My Baby” (Mr. Dupri Mix)
4. My All/Stay Awhile (So So Def Mix)
3. Heartbreaker/If You Should Ever Be Lonely
2. I Still Believe/Pure Imagination
1. Fantasy (Bad Boy) featuring O.D.B
And since we are treating it like a holiday, here is my honorable mention: Fly Away (Butterfly Reprise).

For the Webmaster (56,247) by Jeff from USA
Hi, I've been on the board for a while, but I don't post very often. I haven't been able to figure out how to post a link (for a photo or an article, for example). Can you tell me what step I am missing? Thanks. [Webmaster: Just say in your message what the link is and I make it clickable.]

Languishing (48,425) by Jeff from USA
"If you could only see
That I was not put here for you
To judge me and dispute my inner most truth"
Just revisiting this song today, thinking about what Mariah must be going through with the divorce and all the negative media attention. Sending love and positive energy your way, Mimi.
