I looked up to her almost my whole life, but does any of you know what went wrong? I hate the fact that she is now compared to Kardashians and to all the fake people in show business. I hear Mary Blidge in my mind saying: You're Mariah Carey remember? I wish she would remember and stop this weird circus. The image is ruining her talent and legendary music she made since 1990. Sorry lambs I don't want to be that negative and I have hope for a "happy end" or better era but at the moment the press and all the stuff around her makes me sad. Re: Dark, evil era (67,821) (67,825) by MusicfanJ from Germany I just checked instagram and again I'm sad because of what I see. (the "Halloween" video with Mariah). It scares me but not on the funny way. What's happening? She looks lost and sad and not for the first time. We can make a lot of music lists to have positive feelings, but I'm so fed up with this dark/evil era. Somebody on this board mentioned it's worse than the Glitter-era. I completely agree, in 2001 Mariah was clearly exhausted. The problem is I don't recognize her and I'm a fan since 1995. I'm really worried. It seems like something really bad happened or has happened. Is it because of the divorce with Nick Cannon? They always seemed so happy. Mariah need real friends around her who has nothing to do with the business to become a butterfly again. (Tuesday 1 November 2016; 21:58)

I would never believe if somebody told me in the past that one day Mariah would "need" this, act this way and has such strange people surrounding her. Even if it's modern today. It's like a bad movie. I love Mariah and her music, and that's the reason I'm worried. If I'm wrong with the worries I would open some splashes. Lol. I hate the fact that he controlled Mariah until she get depressed and sad. But on a professional way, really only for the business stuff he was good. Her image now is horrible and I can't understand that Mariah doesn't see it. Is she so blind, doesn't she care? It's hard to recognize the professional artist that she is. Something is damn wrong. She should be alone or with real people and get all over the things that happened especially in private. Of course that takes time, but I fear that it is getting worse if she doesn't change some things. Like hanging out with fake people and play the happy superstar who is always festive. It seems like this woman has "power" over MC but not on a professional site. I have no words. But I'm a bit worried about Mariah, hope she's okay too. She doesn't seem to be a woman who is able to be "alone". Only because sex sells, she's famous and she only has the hits because of the producers. I find her and her voice so boring. Katie Melua, Joss Stone, India Arie are so much better. But as an solo artist she is not so special. A beautiful woman, but musically definitely not overwhelming. But she knows the trends and is really a smart business-woman. But if you compare her to Rihanna and Beyoncé I agree it's like these two are still in kindergarten especially Riri is overrated as hell. Lol Madonna is the queen of pop. There's no doubt about it. And Mariah is in her own league. As I said in an old post: Mariah made herself a legend while she was just so young. Somebody here said Mariah doesn't like to be called a legend, but musically she is one of the very few the world luckily has to enjoy. (Saturday 15 October 2016; 15:48)

The last few days I rediscovered the whole Emotions album with its beautiful songs. Sometimes I have a phase I don't listen to certain songs or an album and then I think oh you should listen to that, it's been a long time and it's amazing. And I do switch between the "old songs" and "new" very often, it belongs to my mood. "So blessed" is really beautiful. When she sings: I stay with you beyond the end. Love it. But I do hope that personally she's fine too. We all know life's not easy especially if something is going on in the private life.
