Only because sex sells, she's famous and she only has the hits because of the producers. I find her and her voice so boring. Katie Melua, Joss Stone, India Arie are so much better. But as an solo artist she is not so special. A beautiful woman, but musically definitely not overwhelming. But she knows the trends and is really a smart business-woman. But if you compare her to Rihanna and Beyoncé I agree it's like these two are still in kindergarten especially Riri is overrated as hell. Lol Madonna is the queen of pop. There's no doubt about it. And Mariah is in her own league. As I said in an old post: Mariah made herself a legend while she was just so young. Somebody here said Mariah doesn't like to be called a legend, but musically she is one of the very few the world luckily has to enjoy. (Saturday 15 October 2016; 15:48)

The last few days I rediscovered the whole Emotions album with its beautiful songs. Sometimes I have a phase I don't listen to certain songs or an album and then I think oh you should listen to that, it's been a long time and it's amazing. And I do switch between the "old songs" and "new" very often, it belongs to my mood. "So blessed" is really beautiful. When she sings: I stay with you beyond the end. Love it. But I do hope that personally she's fine too. We all know life's not easy especially if something is going on in the private life. Although I hear some "funny pronouncing" too. Maybe she recorded it real quick. A complete Spanish album would be great. Definitely many people would enjoy it. Mariah's three Latin influenced songs belong to my faves. Maybe we will get a number four since "I only wanted" was written in 2003. (Monday 10 October 2016; 23:01)

Queen of music (67,164) by MusicfanJ from Germany Mariah is of course best known for R'n'B. But I find it so impressive that she can sing every music genre. Pop: Heartbreaker, Without you Retro-Soul: Feel it Gospel: My saving grace Jazz: Subtle invitation, The wind Pop-Rock: Bringin' in the heartbreak, You need me Dance: all the remixes, I love them all Country: Help me make it through the night Disco: Last night a DJ saved my life Reggae: a little influence in "Cruise Control" Did I forget something? She really is the queen of music and there are only a few artists who can sing so many genres that it still sounds wonderful and unique. (Monday 10 October 2016; 14:05)

Beyoncé and some wannabe stars like Kim (for me she isn't a star, only rich) could have the whole world as "followers", they are nothing compared to Mariah. What Mariah received is incomparable. I watched a video on YouTube from the Daydream tour in France. Mariah was only 25 and people were freaking out. Chaos on the streets, it had something from the scenes when Michael Jackson appeared. But I completely agree with you that the kid who is running Mariah's instagram needs to go. Mariah needs a professional for the "new media". I wish all the lambs and true fans a fabulous weekend. Re: Daydream (66,965) (66,975) by MusicfanJ from Germany Daydream was the reason I became a fan of Mariah. I will never forget the day I first heard "Fantasy". What a voice, what a sound what a beautiful singer. Then "Open Arms", "One Sweet Day" and "Always be my baby" were on heavy rotations on the radio. Mariah was really every day on the radio. And "One Sweet Day" was out of this world. I still love Daydream so much. Although she has so many great albums. I will always be thankful how Mariah helped me with her music. For every mood there's a song from her that will fit to it. And makes you feel better and understood. (Monday 3 October 2016; 13:47)

But I think for "Empire" it works. It fits perfect to all the other songs from that TV series. If it would be the new single from Mariah's new album I could understand the disappointment. Two excellent musicians who create songs with magic that will last forever. I love all the collaborations with Walter. Some songs he wrote with Celine Dion and Josh Groban are beautiful too.
