About Edward from USA:

Stacey, Luke (48,173) by Edward from USA
Stacey, I completely agree with you. I hope she's learned that being a legend doesn't give her a free pass for being late, especially when it's not the first time. Luke, how could it be Nick's fault that Mariah was once again late? If you have been following Mariah's career, you know very well that she is mostly late to everything. Mariah was late and it was nobody's fault but hers. I'm sorry for the fans that were left waiting in the cold, it was really cold yesterday here in NY.

Darryle / Help Me Make It (48,077) by Edward from USA
Darryle, thanks for replying to my post. I have very decent mp3's of "Help Me Make It" and "When I Feel It". Those songs weren't ever released for purchase, so I don't think that sharing them with you would constitute piracy. If you want one or both, let me know your email.

enwar00 / Playlist (48,073) by Edward from USA
enwar00, thanks for your recommendation. I'm definitely dropping "Whenever You Call" and "Against All Odds".

Non album tracks (48,066) by Edward from USA
I've been putting together a playlist with b-sides, songs that were released as extra tracks in deluxe and international editions, some new songs from compilations, and other independent projects where Mariah is not necessarily the main vocalist. There are some songs that I left out because I simply don't like them, like "Secret Love". I'm not a fan of lists, but I'm posting this one hoping to hear what some of you guys think. I'm thinking about dropping five songs to make it an even 20. Which ones would you drop?
01. Endless Love
02. Everything Fades Away
03. Do you Think Of Me
04. God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen
05. Sleeping Away
06. I Still Believe
07. Thank God I Found (Make It Last)
08. Do You Know Where You’re Going To
09. Every time I Close My Eyes

Reuben Walton / Nick / always remember (47,948) by Edward from USA
I'm not a fan of Nick, he is childish and has diarrhea of the mouth, but does that mean he is a horrible monster? If we're going to start the blaming game, isn't he the man Mariah chose? She was a grown ass 38 year old woman when she married him after having dated for such a short period of time. They were happy, you had to be blind not to see how happy they were. It takes two to dance the tango, and I'm pretty sure Nick wasn't dancing it with a ghost. While Mariah has lyrically taken her shots at him, Nick has come forward and spoken highly of her when the media was labeling her as an unstable mother and a controlling bitch. Demonizing Nick as if Mariah was this helpless woman in shackles tied to her bed, being abused and tossed around by this horrible man, is ridiculous. Mariah stopped being Mary Poppins in 1997. Reuben Walton, isn't it ironic that the album (Memoirs) you love so much was much inspired by Nick? She released a wonderful Christmas album, and she had dem babies. I'm pretty sure Mariah doesn't regret one moment of it.

Philipp / The Warning (47,946) by Edward from USA
Philipp, I think that song is utter garbage, plain and simple. What a waste of time going in the studio for that. Mariah was evidently as high as a kite, so embarrassing. I never heard that song, and I wish I never had.

Hero / Auckland NZ (47,935) by Edward from USA

I really appreciate this raw performance of Hero in New Zealand. Mariah really went for it.

Alexys / mashup (47,900) by Edward from USA
Alexys, whoever put together that Mariah-Lenny Kravitz mashup did an amazing job. It took WBT to a different level. Thanks for posting it. I created an mp3 right away. I'm blasting it at the gym.

Baby / Walter (47,876) by Edward from USA
Baby, I didn't actually get that far in the interview the first time, but when I revisited it I was out of words. Neither Walter nor his co-hosts knew that "Emblazoned" was an actual word. No wonder why Mariah made that comment on Watch What Happens Live about "AIWFCIY". Walter is thirsty, but Mariah's not giving him anything to drink. I think it is time for him to move one, because I'm pretty sure Mariah won't work with him again, she doesn't need him.

Jesse / Hero (47,865) by Edward from USA
Hi Jesse. You're not new to visiting MCArchives, but since that was your first post, I wanted to say welcome aboard. As for the "Hero" YouTube video you posted, I personally think that Mariah didn't lipsync any part of it, she was actually singing live. Whenever Mariah is about to lipsync to the difficult parts of her songs, she usually does one or a combination of the following: a) Spins around as if she were in a beauty pageant, b) Covers her face with her left arm making it seem as if she were feeling the spirit or waving to the audience, and c) Face the musicians giving her back to the audience momentarily. She doesn't do any of those things when she's confidently singing live.

I'll Be There / MSG (47,844) by Edward from USA

I consider this to be the best rendition of "I'll Be There" Mariah's ever sung. Mariah and Wanya is pure magic. Wanya brought so much soul to it that I forgot about Trey's high notes, no pun intented. I replaced the Unplugged version with an mp3 of this one.

Abraham / pic (47,839) by Edward from USA
Abraham, thanks for the compliment. I knew you'd love it. Don't get use to it though. When I get my monthly suppley of the Butterfly drink, I'll be back to my old self.

Travon / allotment (47,832) by Edward from USA
Travon, the allotment statement on MariahCarey.com just means that tickets reserved for the members of Honey B Fly have been exhausted. Checking from other ticket sellers, there still seems to be tickets available. I don't think she'll have much problem selling out the four shows, if she hasn't already. Beacon Theater is not that big of a venue, just 2,894 capacity, very intimate. She won't need big screens.

Carol / support (47,827) by Edward from USA
Carol, fans from the US bought MIAMTEC, some even bought multiple copies. Has it occurred to you that her fanbase in the US has shrunk considerably? Is it viable to tour the US with such low album sales? No, it isn't. Does it mean that her remaining fans didn't support her? No, it doesn't. We supported her, but we cannot be responsible for those fans who jumped ship and are not longer her fans. Those who abandoned her are not the ones wanting to see her in concert, believe me. Another thing, when it comes to making an artist/album successful, fans are just a small part of the equation. If the album is not connecting with the GP or promoted, for whatever reason, it is a wrap. It could be the best album in the world, but it takes more than great music to move copies. Most people don't even know Mariah released a new album, go figure.

Stacey / Christmas (47,815) by Edward from USA
Stacey, I appreciate the dedication. There's not better way to shake off the drama and start the holiday season with such a performance of "All I Want For Christmas Is You", it was epic. My favorite Christmas song is "Miss You Most At Christmas Time". Thanks for sharing that slightly R&Bish version of it with me some time ago, I always listen to it. By the way, I got my tickets to see Mariah in December. I was there when she sung "With You I'm Born Again" with John Legend for the VH1 Save the Music special. The Beacon Theater is an intimate place to see such a star like Mariah, I'm can wait.

Andrew / Tommy and his posse (47,725) by Edward from USA
Andrew, I read Tommy's "Hitmaker: The Man And His Music" to have a better understanding about the development of Mariah's career and what went on between them. Even though the book is not centered on Mariah, it gives a good insight about the situation. It was interesting to find out what her reaction was to losing to all her Grammy nominations back in '96. The man had the vision, and the muscle/resources while Mariah had the talent/voice. It was the perfect combination. I wonder what would've happened had they not gotten involved sentimentally. My problem with Tommy is with the proven fact that he knowingly encourage JLo to use the Firecracker sample Mariah had already used on Loverboy, and not only that, the use of Ja Rule on a very similar song to "If We", and that's not speculation. Also it's a proven fact that sabotage Mariah's career using his power to coerce DJ's into not playing her, that was pure evil.

Andrew / addicted to improve (47,714) by Edward from USA
Mariah's still lipsyncing here and there, but as her voice gets stronger, she's doing it less and less. Her voice has definitely improved a lot from the first few shows, to the point where she has included a few more songs in her playlist. My All, as easy as it may seem, is a very difficult song to sing. Let's give Mariah some credit. It's evident she's taken action to better her voice, I never believe the "She just had a cold" theory. Sometimes it is not only a confidence thing, but knowing when you can actually go for a certain note. As for covering her face or turning around when lipping certain parts, I agree with you. She could actually get away with it if she didn't do that. She's been consistent, and I'm personally happy with that.

B / Lullaby of Birdland (47,704) by Edward from USA
B, it wasn't an inconvenience at all. I love sharing these type of stuff with my fellow fans whenever I can. I just wanted to make sure you got it, and that it didn't end up in somebody else's inbox. As for the email, they are not case-sensitive, I was referring at the space between the two words. If you need an mp3 of any of the other videos that have been posted, just let me know.

Abraham / black panties (47,702) by Edward from USA
Abraham, my post was intended for those who keep telling people what to post or not to, and you are one of them, so I didn't have to be specific. I want you to know that I respect the fact that you love wearing your panties, but assuming that the rest of us male fans like wearing them too is a little bit too much. I'm a fan of Mariah's. I'm not interested in imitating her or wearing any of her products. I don't have any problem with those who like that, but don't assume that just because you do, others do too. Another thing, why are you dragging Stacey into a post directed at me? I know it may sound cheesy, but my parents taught me to always treat women with respect. Oh, and my sister just informed me that wearing panties doesn't come with a bitch-pass.

Self righteous moderators / really? (47,684) by Edward from USA
Self Righteous Moderators, can you please let Eric, The Webmaster, moderate. Last time I checked and for 16 years he's been the sole owner of MCArchives. For those who want to moderate, try putting together your own website, these days is not that difficult, you can have your very own Utopian la-la Land, so you could ban those fans that disagree with you're "my-way or no way" point of view. Stop telling people what to post or not to, it is getting tired. Let people express themselves for heaven sake. If someone is not impressed with any of Mariah's performances and states it, does that make him/her a hater? Do we have to go on a witch hunt for a one line statement now? And whatever happen with men being a little bit more polite towards women? Or is bitchiness the new go to go now? So, next time you feel like you're having an ass-attack, you might consider having a seat or maybe two, it might mitigate the damages.

Orkun (47,676) by Edward from USA
Orkun, I'm glad you smiled over the lawsuit joke. Even though I don't personally know any fan from the Philippines, I do appreciate and admire the love they have for Mariah 25 years later. Her Asian fans have been very loyal and supportive throughout her entire career.

Mariah's being sued by 30 Filipinos (47,665) by Edward from USA
I'm so happy Mariah tore it up in Manila. The Philippines is a country where Mariah influence is felt in almost every female singer. Those who have sung her songs through the years are very good vocalist too, like Regine Velasquez. If there was a country I wanted her to represent, it was there, and she did. Those whistle notes at the end of "Emotions" were to die for. She showed her loyal Filipino fan base that she's still the queen. Filipinos are some of Mariah's most devoted fans, so I'm glad she gave them her all. The way they received her at the airport reminded me when she was really popular in the US. I don't know what she did, if she hired a vocal coach or what, but she should keep on doing what she's doing because it is working. That's what I want from Mariah, not a perfect performances, but consistent ones. Rumor has it that fans on the first few rows ended up deaf after those ultrasonic whistle notes, it's all on RumorTube.

Ian James / I'll Be There (47,651) by Edward from USA
Ian James, it is has been obvious that Mariah has been exercising her muscle (voice) and it keeps getting more in shape with every concert. She has been hitting notes she didn't hit in the first few venues. She's also been creative by changing the way she sings some of the most difficult parts of her repertoire. I rather she sings some of her songs tweaking them to suit her voice than fail miserably by trying to hit notes she's not at that moment vocally in shape for. I like when Mariah talks to the audience, I think it is cute. There are songs that call for interaction with the audience like "Always Be My Baby", but when in it comes to the ballads, Popped Eyes help me, lol. It annoys me when she interrupts, let's say "Vision of Love", switching into speaking mode, it kind of take the vibe of the song away for me. I'm happy though that she's getting her confidence back. You'll see that one of these days she'll give you what you need. She's already doing it with some songs. She definitely did a great job with "I'll Be There" in Manila.
