It’s about Damizza. Read the lyrics. Nothing to do with Nick who was her husband at the time it was written and recorded.

It's very likely it was Tanaka who finally woke Mariah up to what was going on around her with Stella. If it was him who broke her out of that downward spiral then we should be thankful for him for that.

My feelings were if he needed to tell this story the moment the NDA was null and void for his personal therapy, he should book a session with his therapist, not broadcast it across Instagram. As for the claim to love Mariah so much, if he truly did and if he ever was a real friend to her, he would never have spoken about her the way he did. It's no wonder Mariah has trust issues and puts up the diva barrier when every man she has ever met along the way has treated her so badly. The fact she soldiers on still, is an incredible feat.

Re: New memoirs (81,831) (81,835)

The memoirs will likely not be an expose. There will be huge legal ramifications if she did a tell all. She has said in many interviews she cannot go into the details around what went on due to confidentiality agreements etc. I have always been interested in her rise to the top and her early years. What “Mirage” was doing every evening, how she was working with Gavin and Ben and Brenda before the record deal, the wood shop, the song writing, the demos. We know enough from what followed afterwards.

Like you all, I am so proud of Mariah for opening up about her struggles. The fact she has kept this hidden for years and has no doubt struggled without our support for so long breaks my heart. I am so glad that she has shared this, but I wish so much that she had done so back in 2001, so that she could have seen straight away that, for us at least, it matters not. We will always love her and always cherish what she has given us, and nothing will ever change that. Well done Mariah. I am so hopeful and optimistic for the future.

With respect, I can only imagine the time needed to maintain a website this popular every single day without pause. I love the variation of the articles posted here and this site is my one stop shop for all MC news. Maybe make your own news site where you can post quality news articles?

Okay so To The Floor is my favourite track from Emancipation. I can't understand why so many fans dislike it. But then, I also couldn't understand how so many of you could like Did I Do That. TTF is so slick and light and breezy. A real change of pace and highlight for the album's second half.

Andrew this is so weird. I was thinking earlier today about posting this very same topic. I agree, Everything Fades Away is of course the best ending she's ever done. Really the US version was the only one to not have it feature, as all International versions of the album included it, and it seems so incomplete ending Music Box with All I Ever Wanted. I remember when Rainbow was out she said it was her first "happy ending" to an album, so perhaps she viewed EFA as the final track as well. She's never bettered that. So atmospheric and moving and sung with such conviction.

Lol. I meant the white background was also vibrant compared with her albums before that were more sepia toned. The cover is photoshopped up to within an inch of its life though. If you google "Rainbow Lachappelle outtakes" you can see the original shots. She still looks great but it seems like her body was stretched lol.

Okay so a couple of points here. I actually really like the Rainbow album cover art. I love bright, vibrant colours and this cover really "pops". As for the Loverboy video, it's one of my favourites too. Clearly this LaChappell character's work appeals to me lol. Happy birthday Mariah.

It was my most disliked Mariah track until Boy came along and rocketed to the top of the charts. Then it’s been helped by recent gems like Why You Mad and Crapfinity and Infamous. So it’s still in the top ten somewhere lol. For me it upset the more serious/reflective mood of the second half of the album and probably would have been better received by me had it been on the A side (showing my age with that comment lol).

Great post. Rainbow is underrated I think mainly for being the second verse to Butterfly. Tough act to follow really. It's an album I don't usually turn to but when I'm there, I'm loving it. Every track on that album is a winner (except Did I Do That of course), and as you've said, the remixes were fantastic. I was at first nervous after hearing that she stepped away from David Morales for Heartbreaker's club mixes, but Junior Vasquez did a great job. The accompanying tour was also great. I was there in London's Wembly Arena. Not as great as the London stop of the Daydream tour but then, what was?
