About Edward from USA:

At her best (46,980) by Edward from USA
Lyrically, "Butterfly", "Outside" and "Close My Eyes" are the epitome of perfection, Mariah at her best. It is kind of weird, but it seems to be that when Mariah was younger her song writing had much more depth.
Nearing the edge
Obvious I almost
Fell right over
A part of me
Will never be quite able
To feel stable
That woman-child falling inside
Was on the verge of fading
Thankfully I
Woke up in time
When Mariah was 20, she had the maturity of a woman way older than that. Many seasoned lyricist would dream to have such depth. Now we have deep lyrics like: "Wiggle wiggle wiggle", "Bang bang into the room (I know you want it)", and even with much more depth like Nicki's Anaconda: "My anaconda don't, my anaconda don't, my anaconda don't want none unless you got buns, hun." I can't wait for Anaconda in acoustic version.

Tarraga / welcome to NY (46,939) by Edward from USA
Tarraga, I haven't attacked anybody, nor have I gone on anybody's throat on this board for stating their opinion. I never told anybody not to write lists, yet I can express myself if I'm tired of them. Yes, I wrote the longest list, but I was being funny, since my list consisted of Mariah's whole catalog, I guess only my UK boyfriend Stephen caught that, right? In this country, the US, we do have freedom of speech, so drop your colonizing attitude because we don't have Tainos here for you to exterminate. I never called KeShawn names, or even addressed him, and for your information, I've never been censored on this board, just like you were censored on your previous message for being an a*hole by being disrespectful. If Steven and I are the reason you rarely post here, you must be high on something because we are not trouble makers here. I will start posting more often from now on; it is always nice seeing you around. Not.

Stephen / another list? (46,914) by Edward from USA
Stephen, you get my humor. These lists are driving me nuts, not another teen movie, I mean, not another list, lol.

Stephen (46,825) by Edward from USA
Stephen, I couldn't have said better, Wendy's just a hypocrite. Those crocodile tears a day after Whitney's death were so dishonest. Instead of talking about Mariah so viciously, she should keep an eye on her husband, her wigs, and her two ridiculous balloons. I understand the type of show she has, but sometimes she just goes over the top with her comments.

Bill, Wendy is a woman, I guess. Some people think she's just a man in a dress.

Wendy Williams who? (46,812) by Edward from USA
Wendy Williams is just jealous because Mariah is a real woman. No matter how many wigs and make up Wendy wears, even RuPaul looks more feminine and natural than him. Most drag queens love Mariah, so I don't understand why Wendy Williams doesn't. He is a disgrace to the drag queen community. Wendy hasn't quite understood that when you mess with the best, you die like the rest. He had been kind of supportive of Mariah for the past few years, but now he came back viciously spitting fire out of his mouth. he wasn't just gossiping, he was being plain evil. I hope Mariah won't ever set foot on his show, ever. As for Mariah's album being a flop, I take MIAMTEC anytime over Ariana's all over the place album with all her three hits. I have the feeling that MIAMTEC is going to become a cult classic in the future.

Nick / so ridiculous (46,790) by Edward from USA
Nick has already publicly stated that Mariah is a wonderful mother, that he won't be making a statement about the marriage, and that he'll always love Mariah for she has given him the best gift in the world, dem babies. He hasn't said anything taking custody of dem babies, on the contrary he has praised Mariah for being an excellent mother. He was a gentleman when he defended Mariah on his tweet, putting to rest the rumors that he was worried about the well being of the kids or that she wasn't mentally stable. They may be separating, but they are dealing with the situation amicably in the best interest of Roc and Roe. So, unless Nick posts it on his tweeter where you can see it or he announces it on a TV show, I will take everything with a grain of salt. Obviously somebody leaked the news that they were separating. You only need a couple of investigators following Nick all day to realize that while in New York, he is staying some place else, and them deduce from there. Most likely that's what happened.

Bill / Eric B (46,776) by Edward from USA
Bill, she sings "Eric B was president". Of course nobody named Eric B was ever president, she's referring to the single "Eric B Is President" released by Eric B. & Rakim in 1986. The references on Dedicated are about the 80's, so mentioning Kennedy wouldn't make any sense.

Manny / Ariana's covers of Emotions and AIWFCIY (46,752) by Edward from USA
Manny, Ariana sang "Emotions" and "AIWFCIY" on YouTube videos. Had Ariana placed the aforementioned songs on her album to make a profit, or sing them in concert, it would have been a different monster. As long as credit is given to the artist, and no profit is being made from it, it shouldn't be any problem. Ariana wasn't a recording artist in 2012, and just like many other YouTubers in hope of stardom, she didn't feel like she had to ask for permission. Even though most artists or songwriters don't care about people covering their songs on YouTube, some do. To be 100% sure your cover won't be taken down, the party covering the song should ask for a synchronization license from the entity that holds the copyright, but as we know, they that rarely happens, since every time a cover is played on YouTube, it counts as a view toward the total points for the Billboard Hot 100. On 2013, a parody video of Miley's "Wrecking Ball" went viral and propelled the song back to the top spot.

JayCarey, this_is_qhm (46,604) by Edward from USA
JayCarey, you have a great voice. At the beginning I thought it was Mariah singing (please take it as a huge compliment). You should do more, so we could be entertained until Mariah goes on tour. this_is_qhm, not, it isn't just you. Even though Ariana have gotten a few hits, and Iggy's "Fancy" set a record for the track by a female rapper that has spent the longest time at No. 1, other than Pharrell's "Happy" and Sam Smith's "Stay With Me" plus his entire album, 2014 has been such a bleak year for good music. Mariah's "MIAMTEC" was critically acclaimed and it could sit up there with Sam Smith's album "In The Lonely Hour", but sadly it never took up. I hope for a better 2015. I did like Ariana Grande's "Yours Truly", it was more cohesive and it followed a concept, but this new one is just all over the place. While I was happy with 2013 because there were many great singles and albums, this year has been a let down. Most singers are concerned with releasing 3 something minutes forgettable singles, instead of quality music, and it is so sad. Katy Perry may have thrown shades at Mariah, but she's so forgettable like the rest. Her five years of fame are about to be over. I can't wait for Mariah to have a huge come back, so she could tell Katy Perry: Dahling, mess with the best, die like the rest.

Jermain's interview (46,588) by Edward from USA
I believe JD's statement 100%. He was in a situation where he was powerless, yet people started picking on him from the beginning. I'm happy he decided to leave to preserve the friendship, it was the smartest thing to do. He definitely meant well and he did everything he could with the little control he had. At least we now know they're cool. I'm happy he left more for him than for Mariah. He was always going to be the scapegoat, and it is not fair.

A moving truck is outside (46,587) by Edward from USA
A moving truck is outside a 25 apartment building where Mariah happens to live, and some gossipers are already 100% sure they're moving things out of Mariah's apartment. Oh, wait a minute, the moving truck had a sign that read: Mariah-Nick and Dem babies Moving Company, that's how they figured it all out. I was walking downtown the other day and I got hit by a few water balloons, I think Dem Babies are to blame. I am pretty sure Roc and Roe were being evil, I looked up and saw their faces clearly up giggling from the 25th floor.

Shelly / Mariah is in the studio (46,540) by Edward from USA
I didn't think your post was judgmental at all. You were just stating your opinion. You just stated what most of Mariah's crew won't ever tell her the truth. I don't see anything wrong in Mariah being sexy, in shape, or how many weaves or skimpy outfits she wears. I think what put people off is her "I'm full of myself" diva attitude. And baby, if the GP is not buying her records, us fans along won't be able to sustain her. It is not about changing who she is, but about projecting an image that goes more in line with what she professes in her songs: There's Got to Be a Way, Make It Happen, Hero, Anytime You Need A Friend, Outside, Petals, Can't That Away, My Saving Grace, Fly Like a Bird. On another note, Mariah is in the studio recording songs she'll release on certain concert dates. Now that she's not pressured with a deadline, she's more at ease working on great music. I hope she teams up with producers other than her regulars.

Mariah Daily should shut down (46,537) by Edward from USA
I think Mariah Daily Journal should gracefully shut down. What was once a great Mariah website to get news, files, pictures and media about Mariah has turned into a joke. The passion of those who originally kept the website updated is not there anymore. It has gone from Mariah Daily to Mariah Maybe. Ever since Mariah's people started supporting the website everything was run as if it were Mariah's official site, everything that implied criticism towards Mariah stopped being posted. Everything is boring to the core. I think it is time for them to say goodbye.
(Monday 1 September 2014; 2:18)
Billboard / Ariana and Mariah, pun intended (46,462) by Edward from USA
I think Billboard did a fair job at stating the difference between Mariah and Ariana, making clear who's who. "My Everything" is a cool all-over-the-place bubblegum pop album, but never an album as cohesive, and with as much quality as MIAMTEC. "My Everything" suffers from what "E=MC2" did, being a collection of potential hit singles that plays like a greatest hit record, but not as good as the latter. Between "Yours Truly" and "My Everything", I prefer the former. Ariana won't ever enunciate as well as Mariah does. Billboard makes clear that her diction is not up to part with Mariah's. I like Ariana, and I like the fact that she's trying to find her own sound, but it is such a paradox that when she's supposedly trying to get away from Mariah's signature sound, she starts her album with an intro that couldn't scream more "I'm a Mariah-wannabe". It may be "Her Everything", but it won't definitely be as cherished and loved as "Daydream" or "Butterfly" 20 years from now.

She won't go overboard (46,406) by Edward from USA
I think Mariah has expressed herself on MIAMTEC about her relationship with Nick. I don't think she's going to be killing Nick lyrically in future projects, for the simple fact that they have two beautiful twins together. I don't consider TMZ on the same boat as most tabloids who only put out lies. When TMZ brings it, it is usually true. I haven't personally heard something from them that wasn't true. I think that more than sad Mariah is relieved it is over. At least that's what I could get from the TMZ video and the picture with Nick. I think she got tired of being lonely and dumped his ass. I like Nick, I just think he didn't have his priorities right. When you have a beautiful rich wife, beautiful kids, and you are financially stable, you make your family your first priority, then dem gigs.

Long lost love / she only wanted (46,405) by Edward from USA
"Cry" is definitely about a long lost love, not a recent one, a love she just realized was worth it, but now it is too late. Maybe Derek or Luis Miguel. On the other hand, the lyrics for "Thirsty" and "Camouflage" apeopley to Nick in their entirety. The verse of "Camouflage" that reads: "Weary sometimes when I try to discern our reality. Wish that I just could be somebody else if you talked to me. Kept praying inside let him love me for who I am. Please my Lord" makes feel her pain. It seems to be that Nick fell in love with Mariah the girl who lives inside the golden world, but he might have never loved the real real Mariah. JD said that people were going to talk more about what was coming next than what was going on with the album's promotion, I thought he was talking about a new project, but he was definitely talking about the divorce, and he was spot on. I don't think Mariah is trying to save her marriage, I actually think she's happy that it is over. There's a saying in Spanish that states: "It's better to be alone than with someone who will hurt you." I'm pretty sure she tried her best to save what could be saved, but it didn't work out. She and Dem Twins will be just fine.

Luis Miguel about Mariah / rediscovering MIAMTEC (46,318) by Edward from USA
Luis Miguel may be a man with an attitude, but he's a gentlemen. He's never spoken publicly about any of his relationships, even when some things have been said about him. He and Mariah broke up because he wanted to settle down, but Mariah didn't at that time, as simple as that, they loved each other, and he treated her like a queen. When asked about Luis Miguel, Mariah always refers to him as a gentleman. I actually think they were good together, and they had been dating for about two years and they split. I strongly believe some of the lyrics on MIAMTEC are about their relationship. I, like many other fans here, have been listening to MIAMTEC paying closer attention to the lyrics, and it is safe to say the wreckage of their relationship is all over the album, even in YDKWTD. If Nick is trying to hit Mariah below the belt with those comments about her mental health and her inability to be a good parent, he's f*cking out of his mind. That is something Rock and Roe would eventually have to deal with, and it is not fair to them.

Um / Nick and his tattoo / the divorce (46,288) by Edward from USA
Um, thanks to the laser technology, Nick will eventually get his tattoo removed. It seems to be Mariah just got tired of being lonely with Nick taking every gig he could when they actually didn't need the money like that. I don't think the comments he made were the cause of the divorce, but other bigger things. Some people are saying he was talking himself out of the marriage on purpose by saying the things he was saying. Since they were still OK when she had the accident and the album was about to drop, I believe most songs from MIAMTEC were written and sung within a years period. By changing the concept of the album, she must've left many songs out to accommodate the new ones. According to TMZ, she made him sign a confidentiality agreement as part of the divorce where he cannot talk about the divorce, but Mariah can on her own terms. Since they have kids, I believe he'll be a gentlemen with this whole situation. As for dem babies, I don't think Nick will neglect them, he'll be in their lives and they'll be just fine. What matters is the love they get from both parents, when two people can't be together, doing it for the kids makes the situation worse. I'm more concerned about Mariah and what she must be going through.

Stephen / The Puppet Show (46,058) by Edward from USA
Stephen, I was just going to address "The Truth", but then I realized you did a great job. "The Truth" has been very opinionated and critical of Mariah ever since he started posting here, yet nobody has jumped on his throat for been so vocal about his feelings. It is such a paradox that the guy with Eminem as an avatar is rudely questioning somebody else's honest opinion. Some might not give two fucks about the Media, but the Media definitely affect Mariah. When they eat her alive for lipping, and knowing how insecure she can be, I know she doesn't take it very well. It would be great to see Mariah on an intimate concert, but singing her heart off. I want to pay to see her do what she does best, sing. No gimmicks, no distractions, no background singers overshadowing her or singing the most difficult parts. Her voice is all she can give us, so I don't see anything wrong in wishing her to get it together. I saw what happened to Whitney in Australia and other venues, I would be devastated should anything remotely similar happen to her, that would crush her.

Stephen / To tour or not to tour, that is the question (46,042) by Edward from USA
I couldn't have said better than that, your post was so on point. Some lambs might see those fans that are not that enthusiastic about her tour to be fake fans, but the reality is that when the enthusiasm is not there, it is not there. I would definitely support Mariah should she tour in the US, but to be honest, I would rather she recoup and come back stronger by getting things in order. I would feel literally like sh*t should they start picking on her while she's on tour in the US. We are on the smart cellphones era, and no matter how much you might dub a performance, there are always some fans that get the raw footage and sometimes it is great, but sometimes it is not that great. I'm personally not too excited about seeing her in concert during this messy era because she's in the eye of the storm right now, I think she should just tour Asia, come back home, regroup, and get her sh*t together. Some lambs need to understand that Mariah didn't get to where she is just by the support of her fans, not matter how many copies of her albums we buy.

Mimi and her mini tour (46,031) by Edward from USA
I definitely think Mariah is going to tour those places where they have shown her love lately, and I don't see anything wrong with that. Asia is actually a continent where she can still sell arenas, so it would be a wise move on her part. As much as I want her to tour here in US, I wouldn't blame her if she decided not to. When Charmbracelet was released, she had to go on intimate concerts, I was in two of them, and for an artist of Mariah's caliber, it was sad to see her in such small venues, but she was building her popularity back up then. The Tokyo dome holds 55,000 people, Radio City Music holds 6,015. When I saw her in Maryland, it was only 2,800 of us there. So, Asia is the place to focus on first.

Mariah / Ariana (46,018) by Edward from USA
I actually like Ariana's album "You're Truly". So far the music for this new album is fun, but too bubble gum for me to revisit in the future. I have noticed that they are bombarding us with Ariana's music from every angle: "Problem", "Break Free", "Bang Bang", and now "Best Mistake", all of them are in the iTunes top 20. They have realized that you have to ride on the success of the previous single before it completely deflates. I know that one day people will be back to appreciating albums again. This is not the first time singles have been cannibalizing albums sales, but it is going to be way more difficult because now with the internet you just buy the songs you like and that's it, before we had to swallow a whole album just for a few good songs. Mariah, since the beginning, has put out albums that can be listened to from beginning to end, and that's something just few artist can be accredited for.
