Here We Go Round Again (95,542)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I wish I understood Why I can't get over you at all But you push me to the side And I come a running when you call (come a running) You step outside of my life And you leave me waiting for a sign (waiting for a sign) - Lyrics: Mariah Carey This is why MC is a brilliant songwriter. Two more weeks Lambs until we can have HWGRA on repeat.

Wow. I love it. I can't wait to play The Rarities on my birthday trip to Virginia in late October. It is nice to [hear] how her vocals sound so effortlessly. Her enunciation of each word is [unparalleled] to other singers. I am ordering my vinyls Monday night. I have already ordered the Japan edition of The Rarities and 2 copies of Mariah Carey from an indie record store in the Atlanta area and the Wal-Mart exclusive.

You all should know by now that Ms. Mariah Carey is going to do whatever she wants to do. Tommy is the reason she is like that. I think if he wasn't so controlling early in her career, she would actually listen to other people and make better visual video choices. And you know her baby Brian ain't going to say a word because he is living the good life. I wish that I had a superstar boyfriend paying for everything.

It is a shame. You are so right, Bill. Treacle on YouTube told me this morning that maybe it is because Virgin won't pay to have Glitter produced on vinyl like Sony is paying to have the 16 other albums produced on vinyl. I am so glad that I scooped up a Glitter DJ promo vinyl copy last November. It is going to be a nice Christmas to decorate my study with all of MC's 18 vinyl records on the wall.

I feel you Paul, but MC was striving for a coehsive complilation package. Other rare songs would have ruined the flow of the CD in your music player. Tracks 1-7 give you that Motown R&B sound that MC wanted more of on her earlier albums. Tracks 8-15 are the "making a statement" songs like Out Here On My Own, I Pray, Loverboy (Firecracker Original Version), Lullaby of Birdland, Save The Day, and Close My Eyes.

That would be nice. However, it is too late to add extra songs, the physical release is already sitting at warehouses ready to be shipped to the retailer. It can still happen for the digital release, but I doubt that too. Any deluxe CD or digital edition would have been announced on Wednesday.

MTV Unplugged Target Exclusive vinyl (95,482)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I guess MC did break the internet on Wednesday. The MTV Unplugged Target Exclusive vinyl has been designated as "pre-orders have sold-out". Don't worry because they do this to make sure that they can get all of pre-orders shipped by November 6th. They will open up the ordering again once the pre-orders have all shipped. Plus, you know they are going ship some to the stores on or after November 6th. The same scenario happened with Taylor Swift's Lover. I bought that one in the store on release day. Don't buy that MC one eBay for $75.00. Lol.

Well it looks like Memoirs is not saying remastered on MC's website because it is the vinyl from the limited edition Memoirs box set from 2009. I am still going to purchase anyway because of the chance it may be 150 grams. Merry Christmas is the same imited edition vinyl that was released in 2012.

Re: The Rarities tracklist (95,459) (95,462)
by Bobby A from United States

I just thought about the eclectic list of producers on The Rarities. Could Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis have produced Out Here On My Own for the Glitter soundtrack? And since James "Big Jim" Wright was MC's musical director at the time of Lullaby Of Birdland's live recording then he has to be listed as the co-producer. I am pretty sure Loris Holland and Randy Jackson co-produced Mesmerized. Daniel Moore will probably be listed as the co-producer on Close Your Eyes (Acoustic).

Sure thing Tevin. You receive a live in the studio sound with vinyl records compared to CD's. The higher the vinyl gram quality a vinyl record is the better the sound. Most new vinyl records are 150 grams and up. Remastered vinyl records are even better. I recommend the Audio Technical belt drive turntable. They are really a reasonable priced excellent quality turntable. I have one myself. I am planning on purchasing their direct drive turntable soon. In order to play their turntable you will need a music system unit that has an auxillary port connection (red and white plugs). Then you will need some good quality bookshelf or floor speakers. The vintage floor speakers to me give you the best sound. However, newer bookshelf speakers are good too. Stay away from the speaker brands like Curtis, Emerson, and GPX. The sound quality with those brands is horrible. Check out your local Goodwill or other thrift stores for a good quality music system and speakers from brands like Sony, JVC, Panasonic, and Philips. That's how I created my music system. When you get your first turntable, I will send you a vinyl record as a gift.

Does this mean that Merry Christmas, Merry Christmas II You, and Memoirs have been remastered again since their first release on vinyl? I have all three already. Oh, well I guess I will order all 17 again. This is the best day ever as a Lamb. No other day comes close to it except the release day of TEOM. I guess I better buy me a direct drive turntable to really hear the full live experience of the Tokyo concert. Direct drive turntables provide a fuller richer sound compared to belt drive turntables.

MC new vinyl (95,435)
by Bobby A from United States

I am communicating with Grimey's in Nashville to let me know when they can order TEOM and Rainbow reissued vinyl. They are really good with calling you with updates. 70 percent of today's new vinyl is produced in Nashville. Grimey's has contacts with many of the vendors who ship new vinyl to indie record shops like Grimey's. I will keep everyone updated including The Rarities vinyl.

Very interesting that if one of those times in her life didn't happen, we wouldn't have the same MC today. I am sure Crustella will be talked about in the Emancipated part. I am so excited to get my hands on a copy.

Butterfly (95,424)
by Bobby A from United States
| |

Listening to Butterfly the song right now. I can truly say that was the Mariah who was adored by radio programmers. If we can only get that Mariah back again with MC16. Michael Jackson lost his smooth sound when he stopped working with Quincy Jones. Madonna lost her material girl pop when she stopped working with Patrick Leonard and Stephen Bray. So, I won't mention his name again. But you know how MC lost signature pop ballad sound. Hopefully radio will notice MC again on October 2nd.

Just thinking about The Rarities (95,418)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|
|
I really feel the next 3 weeks leading up to the book and The Rarities release that we are in for a promotional rollout that is going to be like no other. I am looking forward to listening to The Rarities just like I did TEOM and Daydream for first time. MC's voice will be her best on this album. People are going to realize why she is the Songbird Supreme. I am ready for another R&B jam like what has been said about Hypnotized. I am curious to why Can You Hear Me has been described as The Jackson's ABC. I wonder if Mesmerized is a ballad. I am so ready for the remastered versions of Do You Think Of Me, Everything Fades Away and Slipping Away. I am looking forward to hearing Anything Can Happen, Out Here On My Own, Kick Rocks, and Loverboy. This will be MC's first album in awhile not to feature any rappers. I am hoping for a Target or Walmart Exclusive announcement soon. Are you ready to make MC debut at number #1? I am rambling. I know.
