About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Shelly / Fantasy (53,608) by Bill from the UK
Shelly, regarding your question about Fantasy, there were several remixes that differed slightly, all of which can be found across the two CD singles issued in the UK. The original #1's, The Remixes and The Collection all feature the "Bad Boy with ODB" version. #1 To Infinity features instead the "Bad Boy Fantasy" version which retains the chorus from the original. There was also the "Bad Boy Mix" which removed ODB's rap, "Puffy's Mix" which is nearly identical to the ODB remix but the only difference (that I can hear) is the removal of the echo from the "jump jump" line. Finally there was "Puffy's Club Mix" which removed the acapella intro. I love the Fantasy singles and the remixes. Those Bad Boy Mixes coupled with the divine Morales club versions was just brilliant. The "Sweet Dub Mix", 8 minutes of MC cooing and ad libbing, still remains one of my favourites to this day.

Shelly (53,604) by Bill from the UK
Thank you so much Shelly. Here's the UK tracks:
Without You: My mother used to sing Harry Nilsson's "Without You" to me when I was a baby. I think she even sang it when she was pregnant with me. Years later I heard the song when I was sitting in a restaurant and realised that it could be a worldwide hit all over again for a new generation of people who had not heard it yet. That's where the idea to remake "Without You" came from.
Endless Love: I remember hearing "Endless Love" when I was a little girl, and I loved the duet between Diana Ross and Lionel Richie. It was an honour to sing with the great Luther Vandross.
Against All Odds: "Against All Odds" was one of my favourite songs growing up. Phil Collins is a fantastic writer and an incredible artist. I was very happy to perform the song with Westlife. I remember recording in Capri, which was one of the first times I met Simon Cowell. He saw me producing in the studio and we worked very well together, all of us there in the beautiful studio in Capri where I recorded so many songs. I'm really proud of the fact that this song went to number one in England.

Thank you for transcribing for us Europeans Shelly. Would you also be so kind as to let me know what she's written about Thank God I Found You, as that also got ousted from the EU version. If you'd like to know what was written about Without You, Endless Love and Against All Odds then let me know and I'll return the favour. Good to see you back.

J.Lo (53,524) by Bill from the UK
In this day and age who can be away from their smartphone for more than 30 minutes. I don't think J.Lo was deliberately being rude, certainly her applause seemed enthusiastic and she was clearly nodding her head to the beat which would indicate she was into it. The Loverboy debacle was 15 years ago, everyone's moved on, particularly J.Lo and Mariah. Really excited for the video, loved the clip on Ellen and Mariah looked fantastic.

"I know she's in thickums territory now." That is completely disrespectful, you should be ashamed that you speak about Mariah in such a manner, what type of person are you? Please send us over a picture of your rippling six pack when you're 46.

"The Oscars. Are you crazy? Whitney tried to oversing Mariah, did you see Mariah's face at the bridge? It was of total horror." I have watched the performance yet again, specifically the bridge, and still think this is complete nonsense. Mariah's role in the bridge both on the studio version and this performance was to harmonise whilst Whitney carried the melody. I see Mariah looking across at Whitney, but that seemed more to gauge her approach so Mariah knew how to sing her harmony. I also see MC smile when Whitney sings the "resilient voice" line. Hardly a look of "total horror". Sorry but Mariah was not outdone here. Their voices are totally different. Whitney's was very powerful and strong, whereas Mariah's is lighter but with a better range. That's why Whitney sings the lead melody and Mariah embellishes and adds flourishes around it. It's a perfect combination of their styles.

When You Believe at the Oscars (53,409) by Bill from the UK
Well after reading the comments I watched the performance again. I suppose we all see things differently. In my opinion Mariah wasn't "slayed" by Whitney and I certainly didn't see this "help me" look Mariah supposedly gave the audience. What a load of rubbish. The performance was great, both ladies sang beautifully with respect for each other. Neither tried to out do the other. I guess I should be grateful that we had two days of positive messages on this fan site when Vegas opened. Silly me for thinking it would last. Back to ragging on Mariah like we always do. (Rolls eyes.)

"Unfortunately it was under her doctors advice which unfortunately was unfortunate late timing." How unfortunate. Somebody needs to buy him a thesaurus.

Debut performances live (53,098) by Bill from the UK
I cannot stop watching the performances of the #1s from the debut album. Love Takes Time was breath taking and heart breaking and it was so good to hear it live again after so many years. Someday was sassy, fun, and full of the same amount of energy and gumption as the Unplugged rendition. And as for I Don't Wanna Cry, all I can say is wow. So gritty, so raw, so much emotion. These songs, written in the innocence of youth by a young and determined teenager, now take on a whole new meaning considering poor Mariah's recent circumstances, and that is evident in these incredible performances. In the early days critics said Mariah's voice was impressive but not expressive, now emotion carries each performance. Truly she has mastered and fine tuned her art over the years. What a singer.

MC1989 (53,059) by Bill from the UK
Whilst I don't agree with MC1989's comments, there is absolutely no need to be so rude. Counter arguments can be made without being spiteful. Personally I think the performances I have heard have been fantastic. I loved John John's write up and can't wait to read his full review. So glad to also see Mariah finally get some good press as well. She is giving it her all and putting on a great show. Sit back and enjoy it everybody, don't spend your lives nitpicking every note.

TMZ (52,945) by Bill from the UK
I snuck on the site during my lunch break at work and read everybody's comments about the TMZ snippets. As soon as I could I logged on and listened to them - Mariah sounded flawless, and to hear her sing both LTT and Someday live with such passion was a real joy. I am so upset that I will not be seeing her during her residency. I wish her all the best and hope the fans going enjoy such fantastic performances. Just hearing Someday again live was brilliant. I hope after the residency ends that Epic put one of the shows out on DVD or as a download for us in other countries to enjoy.

Favourite album (52,827) by Bill from the UK
My most favourite album is Unplugged, because she sounds amazing and I think the acoustic arrangements of the songs were somewhat better than the album versions, particularly Someday and Make It Happen. I'll Be There was a show stopping moment and a real career highlight, as is the entire set. The accompanying video is also a favourite, her performance was just timeless. History in the making. But, if we are asking about "real" albums, then I honestly cannot decide. One day it's the debut, then Emotions, then Butterfly, then Daydream. I find certain albums suit certain periods or moods. I've been listening to all my Daydream singles lately, love all the remixes during that time and the live tracks on the Open Arms single, and of course, Slipping Away. This is why MC is my favourite, I love literally everything she's ever done. Except Boy (I Need You) of course.

Abraham (52,745) by Bill from the UK
Again, that's your opinion. What can't you comprehend about somebody having an opposing view to you? Newsflash, you're not always right. I think Infinity is better than several of her songs, and one of the freshest compositions she's put out in a while. It's my opinion, and liking a song is subjective. You can't claim it to be a bad song as a "fact" just because you don't happen to like it. I couldn't stand Uptown Funk, yet I appreciate thousands and thousands of people loved it. I'd never claim any song is bad or awful as a fact. Except Boy (I Need You) of course.

"Infinity is terrible. Just accept it and move on. As I stated before, 'next' song please." No it isn't. Your opinion isn't gospel, it's just an opinion. I think it's a great song, accept that and move on.

Hmmmm (52,730) by Bill from the UK
If Mariah sang I Am Free, When I Saw You, Long Ago and Melt Away live from the Daydream album in the future, she would have performed the entire album live. I don't think any others are as close to being completed. Maybe the debut, but I can't see her being as likely to belt out You Need Me and Prisoner et al as the aforementioned, though I'd die with happiness if she did.

Chill out / the real meaning of Infinity (52,703) by Bill from the UK
Can we all just settle down for a moment. I mean, wow. If the song is indeed about her and her husband's relationship ending, then look at it like from her perspective. She had committed to Nick "eternally", and then something so bad happened that they are where they are now. Maybe turning this desperate situation around is a coping mechanism for her. Rather than releasing Camouflage part 2, she's trying to get over her heartbreak by indicating it wasn't that big a deal in the first place. The tragedy is that that couldn't be further from the truth, which in a way, makes a song that on the surface is fun and light hearted with its lyrics, all the more heartbreaking. "I guess I'm trying to be nonchalant about it, and I'm going to extremes to prove I'm fine without you, but in reality I'm slowly losing my mind, underneath the 'guise of a smile gradually I'm dying inside." Life imitates art indeed.

Boyz II Men (52,670) by Bill from the UK
What David said. The thing is, it was an incredibly low move, Mariah was getting it from all angles after the Rockefeller isolated microphone leak, including many posters on here, and Nate waded in and publicly and condescendingly more or less said she was in need of help. Any real friend, who had those sort of concerns, would address them privately with the individual, not air them for all to see on his damn Facebook. Even if they had lost touch over the years, a call to her management company asking for her to contact him was all it would have taken. It was an awful and insulting move on his part, and if Mariah is willing to forgive him and remain friends after that, then she is a better person than me.

Ben / European track listing (52,637) by Bill from the UK
Hi Ben, Against All Odds is included because the version with Westlife hit #1 in the UK I'd imagine. It would seem weird to put out a #1's album that omits her #1's in that region. Just like how Without You was included on the original European release. It's bittersweet though because I hate that some great songs have been sacrificed, but then I equally love those that have replaced them lol. Such is life.

I'll be there (52,582) by Bill from the UK
Oh my days. I'll Be There is literally on the radio (Smooth FM) as I type this. She sounds so good on the airwaves. Unplugged is my favourite album and I'll Be There is of course a favourite. Her version just eclipses the original in so many ways. Oh this is heaven.

Martyn / Skip (52,529) by Bill from the UK
Martyn, I get what you're saying about Andrew, but it's just getting tired and boring now. I could have bet my life that he'd post something negative. Everyone else who isn't blown over by Infinity have expressed their opinions with good grace and respect, Andrew has called Mariah arrogant and aloof in his post. I still am at a loss as to why he comes here. Skip, great job with the re-edit, it actually works really well, except I do miss the opening "ooh aah's". I keep hearing the ooh aah's behind the "to infinityyyyy" refrain and think they'd also work in the background there. But that's just me.

Shocked (52,394) by Bill from the UK
I am really shocked that there's been a lot of dislike expressed for the song here. I was swept up from the first "ooh aah's" immediately. I fell in love on first listen and I've been playing it non stop (never been more thankful for a delayed train in my life haha). I'm glad the webmaster's "thumbs up if you like" post got a massive response though. I wish those fans would be more vocal on here (exclamation mark). I think this is pure ear candy, love everything about it.

Infinity (52,308) by Bill from the UK
Wow. There will no doubt be a plethora of messages about Infinity so I will keep it short and sweet. It really is one of her best, and a real contender for #19. Wishing Mariah every success and happiness for this new chapter.
