Notice how I only mentioned "hair and make up" haha. I usually comment on the outfits too, but I didn't this time. Kinda given up, since it is the bra era so I'll have to live with it. But no Ribbon, this isn't worse than the white one. The white one is next level horrible. I don't know what she was thinking.

Dahlin' I was speaking hypothetically too. But I do hope she knows what she is doing. And this is not a decision she made in confusion to come out of her feelings for Nick. Because she really did love Nick, it was so apparent.

Stolen concept, leeches and the likes (65,153)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
| |
|
|
So when Mariah's concept was stolen during the MIAM era, every one was wondering who it was, and months later when Mariah cleaned house, everyone were rejoicing over how it's great she cleaned out all the "leeches" and "people who possibly sabotaged" her MIAM project by leaking stuff. So now that Stella is living on Mariah's dime, with her entire family (and no not just her kids, her father, her mother, her cousins and childhood friends) why isn't she a leech? Next important question is, in the TCA panel Mariah said she won't talk about her album because someone stole her concept, and then she added, it also happened (a concept was stolen) like 2 months ago. So then why wasn't Stella fired for the leak? I mean it's her job too right? Or is her job just to contour, party, wear variations of the same black on black outfit, do that weird hand pose (that is only acceptable for rappers and prepubescent boys trying to look like gangsters), and keeping Mariah booked on projects beneath her. Another thing is JD was dragged through the mud for saying true words that Mariah doesn't take her career as seriously any more. Yet when Stella's cousin said "Stella made Mariah relevant again" it's just fine right? Some of you all need to really decide what is what.

That is a very extravagant way of avoiding to tell her kids that she is with Mr Packer. If they really intend to get married this year, Roc and Roe should be already told about this, because if she tells them right before the marriage, it will be too much for them to handle. They are just kids. Plus for the kids' sake I hope this relationship isn't a publicity stunt, because that would really confuse them.

Yes, I feel that too, that she doesn't have any intimate (sexual or non sexual) time with James because honestly even on the private dates, she is surround by everyone from her manager, her manager's father, sisters and daughter. Then why would you take you entire entourage to a vacation? Where a vacation is meant for immediate family to spend some time together which sometimes gets difficult to manage in our day to day lives. Shouldn't you instead let it be James getting to know her kids, he getting to know his kids, Mariah and James possibly having a small candle lit dinner or walking by the beach alone? Notice how James's kids are never part of this drama. The first few years together in a couples life is the most romantic and it's when you want to be the most intimate, after that it gets sown what of a routine pattern. So it's surprises me that the man she wishes to marry and is supposedly so head over heels in love with is treated like her first cousin (like Licia said) and the staged moments when he is seen grabbing and groping her, it looks like it's the first time her touched her.

We are on the same page RibbonB, but I guess I've always tried to make myself believe that Mariah wouldn't pull such stunts. I was always proud of how she achieved all the success without any stunt. Infact she achieved it against all odds. But that has changed in the last year or so I guess. When asked about her reality show, she said something along the lines of "it's not a reality show, I don't even know what reality is". I think that statement could not be any more true because she has clearly lost all her touch with reality.

Lol you killed me with the "treats him like her first cousin" line. I wish I was joking, but you have to see the interview for yourself. James's boat is huge and it could probably fit an entire country's population in it, yet Mariah lives on a different yacht. The boats are always going to the same location and are harbored in the same port. I get the point of a "his and hers" sink in the bathroom, but yachts? Plus what they want us to believe is they are engaged and want to get married as soon as possible so then why would you need to have a separate yacht from the man you wish to spend your life with? Didn't Mariah complain about Nick always being away? Well James is also away on business but the short amount of time they are together, she either brings her entourage with her to their dates or she lives in a different yacht? I get rich people are not like us ordinary people but this is in no way normal. What is she exposing her children to? Is this all for the reality show?

Company (65,120)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

|

While initially I was rooting for Mariah that she bounced back from Nick and got herself someone who is more like her, some who likes privacy and is more age appropriate, I am beginning to think this is probably the weirdest alliance. First of all we have all talked about how it feels like this whole relationship is about business and image. Watching the E interview, where they talk about having "his and her yachts", I was like why? I mean I get it that it's glamorous and all but why do you need 2 different yachts? So for those who didn't watch it, James has his Arctic P, which is the 7th largest in the world apparently (so it must be pretty darn big), if I'm not mistaken, that's his family yacht. I assumed Mariah was on the same yacht too, but apparently Mariah hired another, much smaller yacht, where she stays with her kids and her entourage maybe. No, this isn't some "independent woman" so she doesn't need Packer's yacht situation. This is a person you are supposedly marrying by this year, why on earth will you be staying in 2 different yachts when you are going to the same locations? (Basically the yachts follow each other.) That's messed up. Then she apparently left Nick because of his loud mouth and she has time and again expressed her displeasure explicitly about how she does not like that Nick is so public about all their personal stuff. Yet now Mariah is basically living on leaking stories to TMZ no less. All the private awkward kissing photos, the drunk dancing where there is no way anyone outside her team could have filmed it and so much more. If Mariah wanted her privacy, she could have had it. Brad and Angelina are 2 of the biggest celebs in the world, yet no one knows what goes on inside their house. We only get to see them when they are out in public. So people can save the "oh she's famous, paparazzi somehow always manages to get her private photos" can save that argument. I won't even start with the Bulochnikov drama, I've already said a lot about that, and it deserves a post of its own. There is something weird going on in Mariah's camp, and Mariah is somehow fine with it.

Why would anyone think she is hiding something when she has answered the same thing before and made her feelings very clear? We know how she feels about AI, we know how she feels about JLo. There is no need to re-flavor the shade again and again. Just be diplomatic. Mariah has gone from being the girl with the golden voice to being known as the "diva extraordinaire" and "queen of shade". Both makes it hard for people outside her fan base to relate to her and then when she releases something and it tanks, fans will again blame everyone but her. The label sabotaged her, JD sabotaged her, Tommy Motolla somehow still sabotaged her in 2014. The list goes on. Mariah isn't always blameless.

Thoughts (65,110)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

Did you guys watch the first part of Mariah's interview with ET on her yacht? The interviewer asks her about The Weeknd and says that she would like to see a collaboration between the two happen, and Mariah said "I would like to see that too, I love his work." So maybe she did work with him because she did say that she approached some people she hasn't worked with and that those are people that her fans have been wanting her to work with. I hope it's true, a nice sexy jam. Of course this can be the whole MC-Bey situation all over again. Ok next thought, my hope from Empire is that Mariah loosens up and isn't as stiff infront of the camera as she was during "A Christmas Melody". You could tell she was so aware of the camera, at certain parts I almost expected her to break the fourth wall. Lee usually gets good shots out of Mariah so that's that. In the middle I was done with the idea of her being on Empire, but now that she is doing it, I hope it's a small story arc and she has a substantial role like say Jennifer Hudson's or something and not like Estelle's, who was just a decorative guest star. Although I loved the "Conqueror" duet. As much as I think Jussie is cute, I think it would have been more fun if Lucious was the one collaborating with Kitty. He's my favorite.

The one she did with JD must have been for her album. All the songs from Empire are by Timbaland and NeYo.

I am here for a banger like "Time of Our lives" by Ne-Yo and Pitbull but I doubt it. With Jamaal being on it, there is more chance of it being an emotional ballad haha. Also are we having a "Glitter" reunion with Mariah and Terrence together in a studio situation again? Turn Silk way down, bring Billie all the way up.

Re: Nicki Minaj (65,082) (65,085)
by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter

They had Ellen on the show, who is no where near the music industry though. So having Nicki wasn't as far fetched. Nicki was also really popular back then and even though I am not a fan, she really isn't irrelevant. The shooting thing was too much, I'll agree with that, it's not something that she should have said. My main issue is Mariah needs to at one point just let things go and not give it so much attention because at the end of the day she came out on top, so she has no reason to be catty all the time. Giving it any more attention is making her look bad because the others are taking the high road. Others being Nicki, JLo, and all the others. So even though some of them are at fault, people will still sympathize with them and think Mariah is the one who is always throwing shade.

I am not trying to act like Mariah's career will end because of AI. I don't even care about AI, and even Mariah being on the show didn't give me an incentive to watch it, because honestly it's not my type. No where did I say, if Mariah doesn't do this, she'll flop away. I said that it's been 3 years, she has been through worse and so she should just let it go at this point. She has made it very clear that she didn't enjoy it, no one will forget that, so at this point she can just take the high road and not give it more headlines/interview time than it already got. I don't think a person of her legendary status needs to keep calling a reality show abusive and call her co-workers Satan. Complaining about it whenever it is mentioned won't really do much. Because all people are hearing is "Oh I had to tolerate Nicki's outrageous behavior for a mere 18 million dollars." It's just not a good look. That's all I said.

So the ET interview Mariah did with E. will be airing next week. Here is the promo. She'll be giving a tour of her yacht but they said she'll also announce something big. Now as much as I want to jump with joy, the "big" news might just be her announcing her SSFT Latin America tour haha.

"I wish she would've never gave into doing the show or backed out when she saw that they didn't honor her wishes, because when you agree to do sometime you just have to make the best of however bad the situation is." This is what I feel too. She could have backed out if it bothered her so much. Regardless, what happened has happened three years ago, Mariah has faced worse real abuse in her life. She can surely move past this and dismiss it with a simple "It's just something I wish I wasn't a part of". But going to interviews calling her co-workers Satan, and calling the experience abusive is a tad dramatic. I agree that they shouldn't have added a 4th judge when they didn't do it for Paula and JLo (both before and after Mariah), but surely Mariah got wind of it before she stepped on the promo round? If it bothered her, she had the option of throwing the money on their faces and walked out, she really doesn't need it. Going on and on about it, she is burning bridges with a lot of big names (and no I'm not talking about Nicki). Mariah faced more humiliation with her Rockefeller incident of complaining and burning bridges, she is back to NBC right? That is a professional move. The Radar rumor is something I don't really buy, I don't think they are reputable and at that time everyone was trying to come up with conspiracies to add more fuel to the drama. Anyways I respect your point of view Lamb O' Chop. I always appreciate calm collected thoughts and responses instead of people with one liners saying "I don't agree with the haters like some people on this message board" and then fail to provide a solid argument or even a defense. You are definitely one of my favorites on the board even though we may disagree on things.
