I have noticed that too. It's like we all knew 2025 would be the start of a new era. Bill, Dove, Lighty from China and Libra Lamb are back. We welcomed this year Giovanni, Lambi, and Baby from Dreamville. T is posting more this year. Randy came out of hibernation. Stacey makes me laugh. Terna and Shezz are great analysts. Mimi is our Tamron Hall with her great insight and commentary. Zachariah is my best friend now. Edward looks for my Saturday post to refute my claims. Lol. I don't want the number #1 slot at the end of the year. I want another board member to be #1. We are all family in the land of Mariah Carey.

I'll limit this to two per album:
Vision of Love Vanishing And You Don't Remember Till the End of Time Anytime You Need a Friend Everything Fades Away O Holy Night Miss You Most (at Christmas Time) Open Arms Looking In My All Whenever You Call After Tonight Petals
That'll do for now. Keeping it to the OG Sony run.

Super Bowl (110,859)
by Bobby A from United States

I believe MC could do it with Debbie Allen (choreography), L.A.Reid (setlist), JD (guest list), DJ Mustard (remixes and samples), Daniel Moore (musical direction), and Brett Ratner (director) partnering with MC to deliver a spectacular half-time show. I guess we will know on a smaller scale at the MTV Video Awards what MC can do vocally and performance wise. The world will be watching and on social media during and after her performance.

Ya no Superbowl for Mariah. Her perfect opportunity would have been during TEOM era when she was feeling herself and on fire. But now she wouldn't have the stage presence to command such a huge stage. She definitely has the set list to perform but I don't think it's a pressure she wants or needs right now.

1996 Superbowl setlist 1. Fantasy intro/Fantasy ODB remix 2. Dreamlover - Theo's Joint Club Mix 3. Always Be My Baby 4. Emotions/Make It Happen C&C Club mash-up 5. There's Got To Be Way - 12 inch remix/Anytime You Need A Friend - Ministry of Sound Mix mash-up 6. Someday - New 12" Jack Swing/I Want Her - Keith Sweat sample - new lyrics and adlibs over the sample
A Superbowl set is normally 13-14 minutes, but Tommy and Columbia Records pay the NFL for an additional 15 minutes.

by Lambi from USA

Wait, imagine Mariah actually booked Super Bowl in '96 when she still refused to lip sync. My goodness, she would've slept for 72 hours and completely crush it. Imagine the vocal prowess? This is hypothetical by the way, it wouldn't be realistic since she was still way too new to get this gig, but just for fun. With the hits she had at the time. What should be on her Super Bowl set list?

I noticed that Amazon started giving after album release shipping dates for about two years now to keep shipping arrival complaints to a minimal. The CD's are coming from the U.S. Our postal system is so unpredictable right now since our postal system started a new process of sending mail to regional distribution procesing centers in major cities. It is there packages are sorted and mailed out to its destination. I know this because I spent way too much time holding on the USPS customer service line and this the answer I received about my Ebay package being late. You will probably receive your package on the release date or a day or two after the 26th.

Shezz, this is great news. Surely, some JD remixes and new songs are on the way. MC's surprise studio picture looks like JD's So So Def studio. I really feel now that no more singles will be released until after the album drops. I am saying this because the way MC revealed the tracklist in such a social media strategy way to build anticipation with the song titles and lyric two liners. I believe Gamma wants multiple songs to "album bomb" on the Hot 100 like Morgan Wallen's I'm the Problem did in May. It will probably happen with Mi, Play This Song, Confetti and Champagne, I Won't Allow It, My Love, Jesus Do It, Here For It All, and In My Feelings. People are talking about these songs the most in social media comments. I believe it will happen for her HFIA. 2010 is when streaming numbers were allowed in the calculation equation for the Hot 100.

Bobby A. rumor has it she's adding songs for the deluxe version with some remixes possibly including a Sza collaboration based on the love she's been showing MC on social media with heavy hints.
I wish a Sza collaboration could've made the original album. Better late than never but I just hope it's not dropped if HFIA doesn't perform as well as she wanted it to initially.

TEOM vs TEOM (110,796)
by Bobby A from United States
| |
|

I just figured this out. The Emancipation of Mimi album title has the same letters as The Era Of Mi. MC doesn't name her albums without some meaning behind it and she has never named her own era. We usually name her eras for her. MC has never had an album title/era with two different titles. What personal statement or meaning is MC trying to emphasize? Could MC be sending a message to Taylor Swift or the Swifties that a new era has started.

I don't think it has anything to do with that. Why would they release "Sugar Sweet" as her second single and not send it to radio? Of course it was sent. The truth is, "Sugar Sweet" just didn't gain much traction. Not releasing a video was actually a smart move from a business standpoint.

I know how you feel Jamie. A month go I was disappointed with the album rollout after Type Dangerous fell off the Hot 100. When Sugar Sweet was released and there was absolutely no promotion, I felt HFIA was going to be lost among the other album dropping in September. However, all of that has changed now since the tracklist dropped yesterday. I feel this is the one Mariah Carey album in a while that will have people talking because non Lambs will have 1-2 favorite songs that will make them purchase Here For It All. I just feel this album will be MC's most cherished and embraced album since TEOM. And yes that's my Bianca alter ego on X giving MC this same love. I said it there first.

Well, I was almost on to the correct reason as to why there is no Shenseaa and Khelani on the tracklisting. MC released the tracklist yesterday for an alternate tracklist for those Lambs who purchase physical copies on a new pre-save Linktree link to receive a solo version of Sugar Sweet. This is why it was never officially sent to radio and no video was made. I like how there will be opportunities to purchase different variations of the album.

I believe it is a marketing strategy to make people purchase the album thinking MC is singing Sugar Sweet solo. Also, Gamma could just be doing the same uncredited guest vocals marketing strategy like Dire Straits did when the band released Money For Nothing without giving Sting a feature credit. Foreigner did the same thing with Jennifer Holiday not receiving a feature credit on the explosive finale to I Want To Know What Love Is. Both Shenseea and Kehlani will absolutely receive the writing credits on the album.

The tracklist for Asia, including the bonus tracks, is also known. Track 11 is Type Dangerous Snake Remix, and now things get exciting: Track 12 is Sugar Sweet featuring Sheesea and Kehlani. Does that mean that track 4 on the album is Sugar Sweet MC only? I really hope so.

Sabrina's one single is her special Spotify deal to be the featured song on their official Songs of Summer 2025 list. Releasing a second single would have ruined streaming numbers for Manchild. It should have been a deal for MC and Type Dangerous. Anyway, Type Dangerous was the song of summer on the Urban AC chart. Right?

Definitely started the era one month too early. I think a lot has to do with all the international randomly scattered tour dates that are not even for the album. She probably signed on to them much before she knew her album would be ready this year. It is what it is. Some other artists have even longer spans. Sabrina Carpenter's 2 month time is perfect. She didn't even have to put out another single.

I "really really" hope the album version is just her. It would be like having another new unheard song to listen to on the album. Problem is, when she was releasing the track titles in her story one by one, it clearly said Sugar Sweet featuring Shensea and Kehlani. I suppose we need to wait a month to know but I wouldn't put it past team MC to have messed up and missed them out. I'm hoping they messed up in the stories and not the tracklist post. Billboard is just reporting what they saw posted I think.

"Maybe she knows the songs aren't all that." That seems accurate to me as well. She's mentioned that Sugar Sweet was everyone's favorite. This was supposed to be the peak. I hope I'm proven wrong though, and there is actually a song close to a WBT moment. It doesn't have to be as successful commercially, but it can be on par melodically.
Sugar Sweet is the stronger of the two, but I feel like Mariah insisted Type Dangerous be the fire starter just because she loves the sample so much. I think she also has a say on which single is going out, hence "releasing music on her own terms".
Maybe she did save the best for last, and this 3rd single actually will be the one to swing home the trophy. In the last few weeks before release, she could unleash something that becomes a major moment, fully maximizing the promo. I have a feeling it's the .Paak duet, which she's said she thinks is "really" good.
Anyway, I haven't felt this excited about an era in a while. Successful or not, Mariah is back in the spotlight on major award shows. Here's the top 5 ranked by prestige and ratings:
1. Grammys - She kind of got honored here not too long ago. "Is this a Grammy?" after leaving Stevie hanging LMAO. That's why I think she's now confident to go for the main stage next year. I hate that she got honored in a non-televised backstage moment.
2. VMAs - She will be a shining star on this year's show.
3. Billboard Music Awards - Already honored above and beyond.
4. AMAs - I don't know if she'll ever be back. It's Dick Clark Productions, and we ain't really forget NYE. I know she went back the next year, but that was solely for rebuttal.
5. iHeart Radio - She's been honored here. Done and done.
Let's try to revel in all these moments with Mi.
