Yes, Popvortex uses iTunes and Amazon to compile their charts. They never stopped using their data even when streaming data became such a huge thing. By the way, where can I find Spotify and other streaming charts? They never show up when I do a Google search for "Top" anything.

A song could reach number one on the Billboard Hot 100, yet rank only number 10 on the Holiday Chart. This happens because each chart reflects different aspects of a song's performance and caters to specific audiences.
The Hot 100 reflects overall popularity across all genres, combining metrics like streaming, radio airplay, and sales from a broad audience.
In contrast, the Holiday 100 Chart focuses solely on the song's performance within the holiday genre. It factors in specialized radio airplay, genre-specific streaming, and sales data relevant to that category.
So, a song might dominate the mainstream charts due to widespread appeal, but its performance within a specific genre may be weaker in comparison resulting in a lower ranking on that genre specific chart.

I saw the list and shook my head that MC wasn't on the list. MC has accomplished so much during her career. She doesn't need a magazine or award show to celebrate her already successful career. 2025 is going to be her 2005 all over again. I just know it.

Sad to see Mariah not on the list. Even though her major chunk of success was in the 90s, she's had huge moments in the 2000s and has cemented her legacy by continuing to be relevant and selling out tours almost 35 years into her. Her impact on the music industry is unparalleled.

New album title? (107,691)

It could simply be called MC. We knew her first as Mariah Carey, then Mimi, and has always been respectfully called by Jermaine Dupri MC. Her emancipation would be complete with her next album called MC.

New album title? (107,689)
by Libra Lamb from USA

For Mariah's next album, assuming it's Emancipation of Mimi Part 3, what would be the appropriate title and do you think she already has a name for it and what could it be? The (fill in the blank) of Mimi? I don't want it to be like a farewell title because I want more albums after. How about The Proclamation of Mimi, reminding everyone she is an icon. I know it's obviously Emancipation Proclamation speech but I think it could work.

I know that was wrong of Chris Brown to do that to Rihanna, but she has forgiven him. The industry has forgiven him. You can't deny his talent and popularity that makes his songs so popular on the R&B charts. To conclude, I think MC just hasn't been approached by Chris Brown to collaborate. I hope it happens in 2025.

No to Chris Brown for me. Also rumor has it Mariah refused to sit with him at an event after he assaulted Rihanna. We don't need her associating with another known abuser. If Mariah really wants to go out of her comfort zone I would love to see a duet with Post Malone or Zayn or Harry Styles. Hell why not a sexy song with Sabrina Carpenter. Nonsense is a very Ariana-Mariah type song. Mariah, Ariana and Sabrina on a song would be lethal.

A Breezy duet for Valentine's day would set the internet on fire. Their voices would sound so good together on a hot passionate R&B love song. Their duet would be looked at as being creative and stepping out of their comfort zone. I just feel it would be a number #1 song on multiple charts. Who wouldn't love a Breezy and Mimi duet? Mimi needs a song to get the public's attention in 2025. Babyface, Daryl Simmons, Antonio Dixon, Muni Long, and Tank should co-write the song with Breezy and Mimi.

I believe you are right, Mimi. Based upon the Billboard Hot 100 chart a year ago, AIW made it annual debut at #17. It is no where to be found on this week's chart dated November 16, 2024. It will be interesting if it doesn't make it to number one this year or who her competition will be battling her for the number one spot. Jason Kelce's Maybe It's Christmas is currently sitting at number #1 on iTunes and MC is number #3.

If it isn't it'll be due to the oversaturation. AIW was an organic hit because of its timeless feel. But in the last few years there's been so much saturation with AIW, with Mariah fully embracing the Christmas lady persona. I get it that holidays are where the money's at but I wish she didn't push it so much.

To be honest, if Mariah wasn't reserving this year for something big for this anniversary, what was stopping her from finishing her other projects like MC16, TBL, etc. I get she was doing shows, but they weren't so intense that she didn't have time to finish her projects. I was thinking she's avoiding releases this year to focus on the anniversary. Even the Netflix special I thought it's a documentary turns out it's just a taping of her show.

2025 is going to be a defining year for MC's career. Will she release any full length project? Will she keeping us hanging on wondering all year? It has been too long since Caution was released. Christmas shows (107,637)
by Zachariah from Croatia
| |

I have few things to say regarding this matter:
1. You guys are lucky to even to get to see her in this time of the year. I adore Christmas, although I am more an introvert and alone 90% of the time those days, but I love to see city streets with Christmas decorations and such. I like the vibe. I would do anything to go to see her, but it is what it is.
2. I don't mind her just standing there and not move - she was never a dancer and I am fine with that. Looking at the monitor - that is really annoying and I really would like to know why is she doing that, but it must be the lyrics, or looking herself in the monitor to see if the hair is ok or just a logistic part to see where is she standing or something like that - I really don't know what else could be.
3. Her tour starts way to early. She should do just December next time - from 1st of December until 20th. That's it. She had a lot this year and she should get her rest.
4. Vocals are very good from what I hear and I don't know why is she using back tracks.
I don't think she has dementia or anything like that - it is just stress and making sure that everything goes well. Look at it this way - I use notes at my work. Every day. As I am sure you all do. This is her work and yes, notes are in order to make sure that everything goes well.

It's a shame you had to move several states away. You can always come back to Atlanta, you do have a friend in me here Robert-Anthony. I'm old so I don't party hard anymore but I am still down for some fun. I have lived in Texas and in no way would I ever go back. It's not bad at all, it's just for me. Not my people. Brandon and Edward, you both got me thinking as to why MC is so stiff on stage and relies heavily on the monitors and lip syncing lately. Her voice and hand movements were so interconnected together. With both of them working together, we got a more engaged MC who commanded the stage so effortlessly. Just my two scents as I contemplate if I am going to end my teaching career after 19 years at the end of May 2025. My health is starting to decline from worrying about all that I have to do on a daily basis and from just trying to live on a Texas teacher's salary. I left Atlanta, Georgia a year ago because I just had grown disappointed in how tough it was for me just fitting in after being there so long. So, I went back to Texas because I believed the myth that everything is bigger and better in Texas. What a huge lie the natives sell the newcomers. So, I can completely understand how MC feels when contributing factors can change how you approach something that you once loved to do.

Edward, I agree with you 100%. Unfortunately it's more of the same from what I've seen too. Constant staring at the monitors, moving extra stiff and rigid and an over reliance on lip syncing. I asked the question to see if anyone else noticed it like me. I know there are some fans that don't care and just want to see her but I'm not moved from what I see. Also I prefer the production and staging from last year to this years shows.

I wasn't going to comment but since you asked, I expected Mariah to go all out with the production, especially with the Merry Christmas celebrating its 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, it feels like more of the same to me. Mariah isn't glancing at the monitors because she's forgotten any lyrics, she's watching for her lipping cues. She appears dazed, and her platform heels are so high she can barely take a step. For a festive show, the energy is severely lacking. I'm not impressed at all. On a positive note, she seems to have added a woman to her dance crew, finally.

Most of the album of year nominees did one thing to get nominated this year. They stepped out of their comfort zone and delivered albums that had the industry talking about their work of art. Beyonce might just win next year, but Charli xcx or Taylor Swift may take it home.

MC looks gorgeous. She sounds good even though it's obvious it is a backing track on some songs. I believe she is saving her voice for when she gets back into the studio in early 2025. I just want Bizness Boi, H.E.R., and Nova Wav collaborations. Mary J. Blige got to them first for her new album.

Everyone's pretty quiet about the Christmas shows. I've not seen too many videos but she seems to be singing live a whole lot more than what she did this past year from the few that I have seen. I like that she's ditched the nutcracker body suit for her famous Santa suit. The sets again don't look as festive as they have been in the past though - she needs the big Christmas trees back again. So happy she's singing again (not completely of course but this is still great).
