A day with Mariah (46,017) by Bill from the UK If I had the privilege of spending the day with Mariah, I'd spend the day telling her how much I admire her, what an inspiration she's been, what I love about her music, how she seems like such a wonderful mother, how I'm jealous of Nick, and ask her about songs she left off the albums over the years and just hang out with her. I wouldn't have the gall to comment on her clothes or attitude etc as she is beautiful and just being with her for a day would be a dream come true. (Tuesday 12 August 2014; 21:38)

Terna (46,002) by Bill from the UK Lol, that was a fun post but you can kind of say that about any number if you work hard enough. Three is her lucky number because her third studio album, released in 1993 at the age of 23 was her biggest ever and its third single (Without You) was the song which finally broke her internationally (on a large chart topping scale). Three years later she embarked on what many consider to be her best tour during her vocal peak (Daydream, I was there at Wembley Arena in London squealing with excitement at the time). Also several of her lead off singles had three syllables (Emotions, I'll Be There, Dreamlover, Fantasy, Heartbreaker, Loverboy, Through the Rain, It's Like That, Beautiful). So there we have it. Debut album - legacy edition (45,897) by Bill from the UK Several years back Sony planned to re-release the debut album in a "legacy edition". It was mentioned in the press and appeared on some release schedules but never actually arrived. I hope they reignite this for her 25th year. It could be remastered and include some bonus remixes from that time, The First Vision on DVD/Blu ray, and the icing on the cake would be the original legendary demo tape. The same tape which was so captivating that it made Tommy order his driver to turn his car around to find the owner of that incredible voice. (Wednesday 6 August 2014; 18:14)

Meteorite (45,787) by Bill from the UK I actually really enjoyed it. The dancers supplied the energy, Mariah supplied the class. She looked great, loved the ending, and what a song to open up the WMAs with. I agree with Anthony below, she's got nothing to prove and is a living legend. Let's all appreciate and enjoy her rather than nitpick everything she does. Where's the love in that? I love you Mariah. (Monday 4 August 2014; 12:10)

Tour (45,768) by Bill from the UK All this news of the tour is exciting, and seeing the dream set list a few posts ago, I've realised it's near on impossible to compile a set list of a realistic concert length. I love all of her songs so much, I'd be happy with whatever she chose to sing. How can you condense 25 glorious years into an hour and a half? I know she usually only sings it in season, but I'd love for every concert to end with AIWFCIY. Globally, it's her most loved and known song. It was inspired when she sang it in Tokyo in the middle of summer. Everyone would end their evening on a high. (Sunday 3 August 2014; 14:51)

R&B junkie (45,762) by Bill from the UK I second your post, completely agree with your list. I would have added I Still Believe (Pure Imagination Remix) to it as well because as with My All/Stay Awhile it was an entirely new song with that beautiful dreamy vibe and has absolutely nothing in common with the original except the title. Covers (45,728) by Bill from the UK My favourite cover would be the first and fairest of them all, I'll Be There. I can (and have) played nothing but that song continuously for hours and it never gets tiresome. Unplugged is my favourite album and there was a certain magic in the air that night and it built and built until it peaked with that performance. It is light years better than the original, and I love watching performances of Mariah and Trey over the years singing this. Their friendship just shines through and it's such an appropriate song for two friends to sing together. Nothing tops it in my opinion, but honourable mentions would be for Without You, Endless Love with Luther and I Still Believe. (Friday 1 August 2014; 20:41)

MOAIA / Katy (45,706) by Bill from the UK This is qhm, I completely agree with your post about MOAIA. Ribbon is by far the best song on the album. However I prefer Languishing over Standing O. As for Katy, no big deal. It's not a dig at Mariah at all. In other news, been playing Till The End Of Time a lot lately. What a beautiful song. (Thursday 31 July 2014; 21:25)

And I dream the impossible dream (45,601) by Bill from the UK I never thought this was a reference to "The Impossible" from MOAIA, but more likely a reference to the very popular song if the same name, reading the lyrics they seem very Mariah-y about strife and fighting for what you know is right, even if it is to your detriment. I love the song, and it's on my wish list for Mariah to cover (and has been for years) and when I heard the line in Money I nearly died. Shelly / Vanishing (45,569) by Bill from the UK Hi Shelly. I just want to say that I love your posts and what you bring to this message board. Thanks for being so enthusiastic and sharing your thoughts. I agree completely about Vanishing. That girl's version was nice, and it must be daunting to take on a Mariah song, but it just emphasised the quality and brilliance of Mariah's voice to me. I've probably played Vanishing 10,000 times in my life, but hearing this has given Mariah's classic a whole new lease of life for me. Been playing it on repeat most of the evening, this really is up there as one of her ultimate compositions and vocal performances. Spell binding. (Thursday 24 July 2014; 22:26)

E=MC2 (45,448) by Bill from the UK This is weirdly one of my least played Mariah albums, though I don't know why, because every time I do play it I really enjoy it. Last Kiss is actually my favourite song on the album weirdly. Strange how somebody's least favourite is somebody's most favourite. (Saturday 19 July 2014; 14:03)

Sweet A Capella (45,373) by Bill from the UK I woke up early today, and rather than getting straight up, I got my iPod and listened to some Mariah. I played the One Sweet Day single, and I forgot just how beautiful the Sweet A Capella remix is of that song. I haven't listened to that version in about a year. It is simply lovely, and one of my most favourite remixes she has done. (Sunday 13 July 2014; 9:10)

Anthony Basco re Miss Carey, Mariah (45,161) (45,276) by Bill from the UK Anthony, I wanted to thank you for the message you wrote the other day about Mariah. It was wonderful to read and it made me realise that I have been harsh on Mariah recently. I love her, and she is a beautiful person (in every possible way), and like you I am not sure what I would do without her. It may seem obvious to many, but it hit home after I read your message and then played MTV Unplugged (my favourite album), that her voice is an absolute joy and pleasure to listen to, that I would happily fill my days playing her songs, and that she has been an inspiration to me in many, many ways. Videos (45,274) by Bill from the UK My favourites would be Loverboy, The Roof, I Still Believe and the colour version of AIWFCIY. I need to give a special mention to all the videos for the Emotions albums. I think that period really cemented Mariah's look, as the first few videos from the debut looked like they didn't quite know how to dress her, do her hair, make up etc, that they all compliment and set each other off. In 1991 her look was really great and I loved the filters on Emotions, the setting for CLG, that kind of mansion hot house she was in, and the church setting of MIH all were brilliant. Martyn (45,191) by Bill from the UK Hi Martyn that was a good remix of Prisoner, thanks for sharing. I love Prisoner so much. I always think it's a tragedy we only have this one instance of Mariah rapping in her entire catalogue. I long for a remix which is just "see ya later cuz" over and over again to a great beat. TS (45,183) by Bill from the UK Thanks, and thinking about it more, it would be great if it was more of a retrospective over her time on the label. If they involved Mariah in the project, she'd certainly ensure we as her fans weren't duped by just having a single disc of the singles. Yours with Justin would be incentive enough to buy the thing, as well as the unused Your Girl with rap which was replaced with the regular album version. Those tracks, coupled with the Angels Advocate cuts and Hope Street/Save the Day would be fantastic. So much potential. (Tuesday 1 July 2014; 18:40)

Greatest Hits II You (45,178) by Bill from the UK Now that Mariah's contract is finished and there's been no word of her renewing, I wonder if after the album is finished (singles etc. ) a second GH album will be released with her Island hits. I think Sony kind of missed an opportunity with their version and the remix album by not including any new material, so it'd be great if they added some unused tracks. One idea would be to have Hope Street or Save The Day included, and have them released as singles to promote it (like what Mariah did with the new songs on #1's). I'd also like a second disc with remixes as she did some great ones during this time. WBT, DFAU, any unused Angels Advocate stuff. It could potentially be a really good album and something worth buying. (Tuesday 1 July 2014; 10:01)

Ken (45,173) by Bill from the UK Record sales were only officially counted from 1991 onwards. Mariah's first album and Madonna's 80s records (which were huge) are therefore estimated or they go by what the record companies shipped to stores. Mariah is the best selling of the soundscan era by far, but other artists like Celine and Whitney also had huge albums in the 80s which is why there is a debate about it. (Tuesday 1 July 2014; 0:06)

Jaker (45,118) by Bill from the UK I think the idea here is to not blow things out of proportion. Mariah didn't release an "In Bed with Mariah" book like Madonna did, doesn't take illegal drugs nor has a shady theme park where no adults are allowed. If Mariah's single cover is photoshopped, let's thank God for small mercies instead of running her into the ground about it. It's not that big a deal. (Thursday 26 June 2014; 16:53)

Jaker (45,114) by Bill from the UK I think Lee's point was he was referring to artists like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, who both had much more serious charges against them than Mariah ever has. Exposing a bit of cleavage and lipping to a song causes uproar amongst fans and non-fans alike. Yet MJ can ply kids with "Jesus Juice", Whitney can smoke her way into an early grave, yet they are still respected and considered legends in the industry when Mariah isn't.
