About Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter:

Re: When is enough really enough? (64,264) (64,265) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
It's easy to pick out a word from my messages and then say "hardly not". It's another thing to back up your opinions with your own points. I am all ears and open to different opinions. Case in point: I had blamed Nick a lot in the past but then I heard Licia's views and I tried looking at it from the other side. I may still don't completely agree with her about the Nick situation but hey at least when she wanted to disagree, she backed it up with valid points.

Amen to that my friend. I too am eagerly waiting for Mariah to snap out of it and hopefully release some new music too. I love Mariah and her music has never disappointed me, I just hate to see her self destruct like this.

Re: When is enough really enough? (64,259) (64,262) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
First right off the bat I'll say that Mariah has always tried to act like she young and all. This woman has been saying she's eternally 12 for years now. So no, she didn't act/dress young for Nick. She said two of the things that she loves so much about Nick and that helped them connect were him being spiritual/religious and that they were both kids at heart. Now moving on to the claim that Nick broke her down emotionally, in your previous post you said Nick ruined her image when he "met her". Now you are saying he ruined her emotionally which led her to hint at him being "unfaithful". While I too feel that maybe Nick cheated on her or she felt he did (which was the final straw because they were already drifting apart due to him being away most of the time), this happened post 2013. They were married from 2008 to 2013. Five years in which no one can tell me Mariah didn't look extremely happy and in love. The only instance when she looked a little unhappy (at least to us) was during the Barbara interview. But hey which married couple doesn't fight? My point is, yes, Nick may have cheated but he didn't break Mariah down emotionally when he met her. They had quite a few happy years together and during those years Mariah's image was not affected. She seemed like she broke down in 2014. That was around the end of her marriage and obviously it's hard on anyone to have a broken heart. Plus you said Mariah was uninspired during this duration, how do you explain Memoirs being her most critically acclaimed album and MIAM also being praised widely by both critics and fans alike? If you mean she was uninspired because her album tanked, it was not the material that was the problem. It was the promotion. We (including myself) tend to blame everything on everyone but Mariah, and that's not always true. I have blamed Nick before, I always blamed others too, but truth is if we can say Mariah is responsible for the good things in her career (that she knows exactly what she wants) we have to accept that maybe Mariah is also partially responsible for the bad things that happen too.

Re: When is enough really enough? (64,252) (64,256) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I don't think Nick made her image cheap. Nick was a blabber mouth and a little crazy (with him giving out the number and all) but they quickly became termed as a "power couple". Memoirs was one of Mariah's classiest eras. She seemed happy, looked great and dressed fairly well too. If Mariah's image has become cheap, it is recently with all the stunts she and her team are pulling. Her social media has become a joke, her clothes are horrible and vulgar, her interviews don't have any substance. (I mean really this is the best selling music artist and people and all her interviews are just about the size of her ring? How is that different from the Kardashians?) Articles are making fun of her because of this. This is the cheapest her image has ever been.

Re: Mariah and dem babies (64,228) (64,233) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
That's something where credit is definitely due to Mariah and Nick. I think Roc and Roe are adorable and I love that they are being brought up as normal kids (well as normal as they can be with a superstar mom, a famous dad and multi million dollars in the bank). I mean they dress up like normal kids (unlike the poor North West, who is one of the cutest babies ever but is made to dress like a run way model and is being trained to be a fashionista, wearing uncomfortable clothes and what not), they are all shy and sweet when they get up on stage (unlike some of the sassier kids, who know their parents are big stars and so they take advantage of their privilege), they seem to be involved in normal kid activities and I admire how well Mariah and Nick co-parent. These kids are growing up so fast though, wasn't it just yesterday when Mariah had a huge Easter egg painted on her pregnant belly or when we first got a glimpse of little Roc and Roe in the Barbara Walters interview? I wish the babies all the health and happiness.

Re: Brett Ratner (64,227) (64,232) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
To be fair to Brett, the only videos he directed after TMB were "Obsessed" and "Infinity". "Obsessed" was cute and they did manage to have somewhat of a cute/funny story line. "Infinity" had good quality and Mariah looked great, what was lacking in the video was a story and logic haha. They could have played up the cameos and extended it instead of the uber awkward closet bopping and sofa moments. I thought the stage shots and the roof shots were nice. But yes, overall they could have done much better. However I will forever remain pissed at Brett for cheapening Mariah's brand by bringing in Stella into the equation. I don't care what people say, her image has never been this trashy and cheap.

Re: Insta and insecurity (64,221) (64,225) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Both Stella and Mishka edit the pics. I have seen many pictures where Mishka edited herself down to a size zero even though she is a perfectly beautiful child. I can't and won't blame Mishka for what she does on her own insta, because that is her personal account but yes the edited Mariah pics come from both mama and baby Bulochnikov.

Re: Insta (64,220) (64,224) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
As much as I blamed Mishka for the mess, if Mariah thinks a 13 year old knows what's cool, then honestly I blame Mariah and not Mishka. The girl is 13 and if at 13, someone offered me the job to take over the social media account of an international superstar, I would jump at the chance even though I would not know shit. Mishka's stage mom probably coaxed her and Mishka obviously couldn't resist feeling the importance when some adults give them important jobs, so that I understand. She probably doesn't understand how important a social platform is for a public figure and for her it's just a place to post photos about a person's lifestyle. But what has happened to Mariah's thinking? How does she think a 13 year old inexperienced child can handle/ appropriately represent the social media of a 46 year old international superstar? It's ridiculous. I get a younger person can bring fresh insights, but not so young. Hire someone between the age of 20-25. I keep hearing "real lambs" say that Mariah is so rich, she is doing us a favor by continuing to release music because she can retire any time. All that money and yet she can't hire a professional to at least have a decent social network platform?

Insta (64,218) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
The new picture on her insta posted just a while back, oh Lord, what the hell? Mishka delete that or atleast crop it. Does Mariah really approve these? I meant the picture of her sitting with her hand between her legs. Sorry for the weird description but that is literally what the pose is.

Insta and insecurity (64,207) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
So Mishka posted this on Mariah's instagram. I would like to start of by saying I think Mariah looks absolutely stunning in her candid photos and she for sure lost a lot of weight and is pretty close to her 2013 weight. So I don't understand why such heavy editing was required on this picture? I really love the fact that Mariah isn't stick thin and I feel like her curvy physique makes her more feminine. I don't understand why Mishka had to narrow Mariah down to a weight which looks even less than 2008 (where she was skinny as hell). Why the insecurity? One can say it's the angle, but there is no doubt the photo has been edited for its life. I don't understand the need to blur out the background. It almost looks like she took a stock photo of a plane and photo-shopped Mariah on the picture. I love the outfit (minus the fish nets), it's very edgy and I like me some edgy Mariah moments, but the editing needs to stop. Mariah is an exquisite beauty, she doesn't need extra help. She should think how this will affect Roc and Roe's body image since they both look up to her so much. I saw Mariah's candid photos of her getting off the plane wearing a Balmain lace up dress and she looks gorgeous. She is super thin now either ways, lay off the edits. Embrace your natural beauty. Plus hey we all edit our social media posts, that's all fine, but don't make it so obvious.

Re: Lambs are a support system or not? (64,173) (64,185) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Licia you better get in formation and cheer for them bra out, grinding snap moments. Stop being a hater. Mariah has done nothing wrong, you all are just jealous of Mariah and the Bulochnikovs amazing lifestyle. Haha sorry dahlin' I just had to. I can't with these "real lambs", "fake lambs", "haters/goats" posts that spring up everytime people try to raise concerns. I don't get it, it's a Mariah Carey messageboard, not a "praise board", we discuss everything here. The good, the bad. It's not like we are writing these on random article comments section.

Re: Ariana sounding like Mimi again (64,177) (64,183) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I agree. I don't see the similarity. I don't know why it sounds more like an old school Destiny's Child song to me. I mean I can't pin point a song, but it just gave me that vibe. I don't see any Mariah in that song. Songs like "The Way" and "Baby I" or "Right There" on the other hand are blatant copies.

Re: Lambs are a support system or not? (64,171) (64,180) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
You think that I, or other people voicing concerns, will be fans by turning a blind eye and not trying to get Mariah's attention towards what we are seeing from the outside? How will it then make us any different from the "yes men" we keep complaining about in her team? A support system does not just say yes and support everything, especially if it it self destructive. A support system is one that will have your back but will tell you their views and opinions. No one here is trying to drag Mariah or insult her. They are just raising their concerns about how Mariah's current actions are affecting her brand and image. If they didn't care, they would just let her destroy her legacy. Mariah should be happy that her fans care about her and her well being, they are not just about superficial things.

Re: Mariah's World (64,154) (64,158) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I usually scoff at conspiracy theories but I have to say, the way Mariah's team is taking her, it sure looks like they are trying to tear down her legendary status and smear her legacy. The cheap stunts, the cursing, the weird "leaked" privates photos (that looks so staged), the stunt with the MC-Brian Tanaka affair (it was believable at first but then they started pushing it down everyone's throat by having them grind all over the place), getting a reality show, something Mariah has always scoffed at. Calling it a docu-series won't change much, it is what it is. If it was aired on HBO, I'd think otherwise, but it's being aired on E Network and produced by the same people that is involved with the Kardashians, plus the wanna be Kardashians (Bulochnikovs). Mariah showing up half naked to places without a reason seemingly high as a kite. The snap chat videos (which should have been private) of her completely out of it, grinding over men. Someone said before that Mariah always drank and partied but the thing is it was always private. What made Mariah so interesting and mysterious was that we never really knew much about what went on once she got off stage. Her private life was pretty private. We didn't even know about the problem in her married life with Nick until they announced that they have been separated for months. But nowadays Mariah is overexposed, her private life is out there for everyone to see whether they want to or not. It's almost like she is challenging people to make fun of her. She is definitely not in good hands. Her PR was still better (Morgan's story being nipped at the bud) when Chris Chambers was involved, ever since they left, Stella has been her manager, PR, stylist, life coach and everything. All we got from her was ratchet behavior. People hate on RaeRae and call her a leech, but really RaeRae had no control over Mariah's career (except for that awful choreography) but at least she knew Mariah well. Where is she? Why is everyone who knew Mariah out of the picture? I don't believe Michael Richardson was bad either. Where did he go? Mariah is stranded alone in Bulochnikov land and company does influence you. Just saying, I don't trust this family.

New interviews/posts and so on (64,130) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I feel like Mariah has been lacking substance lately and her team is surely not doing anything to improve it. What I loved about Mariah was that during interviews and all you could tell she is knowledgeable, humble and deep and so mature. Nowadays everything she does or talks about is basically showing off riches and her jet-setting lifestyle, big diamond necklaces with her lingerie and what not. Don't get me wrong, she definitely has the right to enjoy it, she worked hard to earn these. But it doesn't just stop with her social media posts, it spills over into her interviews. Nowadays her interviews are only about her ring, her diva demands, the dahlin' galore, hair flips and what not. There are never enough questions about her music especially in the interviews aired on TV, when we know darn well that her team has the power to get those questions put in. If one didn't know better, or if one didn't know about her legendary status, Mariah would almost be mistaken for a socialite and not a musical genius, a legend who paved the way for many. Even when Mariah was a rambling mess during the MIAM era, there were times when she still showed the serious deep side of her. Ever since then she is now just coming across as ignorant, self-important and attention seeking diva. People say her image has improved since her new team, I don't see any improvement apart from the great improvement in her voice. I love Mariah and I loved the interviews she used to give which were inspiring and enlightening. Nowadays we only get publicity stunts (something Mariah never resorted to before) and do it for the instagram moments, which her team (mainly the Bulochnikovs) encourage to no end. Stella herself is all about showing how glamorous her life is (when it's not her life, it's Mariah's) and she makes Mariah do the same. We need back the artist who inspired so many people by showing how they can make it if they believe, who inspired so many to pursue their dreams, who inspired so many to not give in and commit suicide because there is more to life. And I know deep inside Mariah still is that person. She needs to let it out. Because I am seeing so many of her die hard fans even on this board slowly detaching from her (with good reasons since she seems to be detaching from them). I also am starting to feel like maybe it's time to just step back and just enjoy her music, instead of worrying about her life. Because she'll do whatever she wants either ways. I won't buy the whole "oh she was always wronged by the media so she has stopped caring". Almost every celeb has been wronged by the media to some extent, even America's sweetheart Taylor has been portrayed as a manipulative, attention seeking, clingy/crazy person who keeps moving from boys to boys. Mariah shouldn't abandon her true fans for that.

Re: Mariah's contradictions (64,092) (64,096) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
1) If she said this right after the divorce, Mariah was in her mid 20s (if she said that, I don't know if she actually did but I'll take your word for it). Around that age people are still discovering themselves and so a statement like this is not written in stone. She might have been emotional when she said that and probably meant it too, but can you really expect her to turn love down if it comes? It's not like she jumped and married the next man, she waited a good 10 years until she finally found someone she thought was the one for her. She also said she doesn't want to have kids (because she didn't want them to suffer because of her lifestyle and also because she didn't want to have kids out of wedlock), but that too changed right? People change, their priorities/desires change. It isn't unusual. Lord knows how many times I swore not to do something but did it either ways later on in life.
2) Mariah hardly ever uses her whistles as gimmick, especially not in her studio versions. I always thought Mariah was brilliant with her whistle placements and it always felt like it fit perfectly in with the song. Unlike Ariana, who really does use it for gimmick (not anymore though) and overdid it. Mariah's whistles always fit in perfectly with the song and creates a beautiful melody. On stage she sometimes throws in random whistles (which also fits in seamlessly) but I think she does that because she knows the audience love it, not because she is using that to cover up flaws. Every time she hits the whistle, the audience goes nuts.
3) I can't really blame Mariah for her good side/bad side situation, even though the woman is flawless from both sides. It's not just Mariah, most people, including myself, are aware of their good sides and bad sides and heck I'll move my friends to get my good side because I don't want my bad angle to be plastered over social media when my friends post it and tag me, so how can we blame Mariah when something she is insecure about makes it on every tabloid cover? Someone early on pointed it to her and maybe she tried to get over it but at the end of the day I can understand her being adamant about being filmed from one side.

I honestly wish she would work on new music. I am also not very keen on the 3 Hallmark movies coming up. 1 was enough. If Mariah really wants to get into movies she should try getting bigger, more mainstream projects.

MW (64,091) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Does anyone know why the official trailer of "Mariah's World" has been taken down? Plus did you all know there is an official Facebook page for MW but yet it hasn't been announced on any of her socials medias so it basically has just around 1400 subscribers. Usually when celebs want to promote a project with a separate page they promote it again and again on their main account by sharing the link. For example Kylie Jenner keeps sharing the link to her "Kylie Cosmetics" page every week or every few days. Another thing I have noticed is Stella used to always caption/hashtag her instagram posts with "Mariah's World" whether it was related to MW or not. This included pictures of herself but especially on pictures of Mariah. But she has stopped using it now. But we all know Stella doesn't just stop using hashtags (case in point, the whole "empower everyone and their grandmothers" series of hashtags). Plus it's already July. We still don't know when this show will air. If it is supposed to air in September, why did Mariah go to promote the show/release the trailers months back? This cooling off period in the middle will obviously cause non-lambs/casual fans to forget about the show especially with how people nowadays have a short attention span. And if it will air in September, why is there no word on it? The air dates of most of the fall shows have been announced already.

Re: Mariah's World on hold at E (64,085) (64,087) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Previously it was just Stella and her kids (which was still weird) but now even Stella's parents and other members of her family are also following Mariah around the world. Your entire entourage shouldn't come from one single family.

Re: Mariah's World on hold at E (64,074) (64,080) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
People give way too much credit for Mariah's career to Stella. Yes Mariah got rave reviews for her recent performances but that's not Stella's doing, it's Mariah working on her voice. The Rockefeller incident must have hurt her ego because people were writing her off so she decided to pull her voice together. Vegas was already in place before Stella. The stories in the tabloids about Mariah are more or less the same. The only good thing was Morgan's interview was put out before it could catch fire but that may have been the work of her PR team and not Stella because after her PR team was fired Alison's story came out and nothing was done to put that away. Instead Stella focused on getting the lambs off her own back by making Mariah to release a statement saying how Stella is making her rich and how she is uber excited about the reality show (because people were blaming Stella for cheapening Mariah's image). Then let's not forget how Stella interacts with tabloids, she actually bothers clapping back at mere tabloids which is way beneath Mariah. Something someone from Mariah's camp shouldn't even bother with. Now we don't have announcements for a major tour for which the tickets are being already sold out and a reality show which has no air date.

Re: Mariah's World on hold at E (64,075) (64,079) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
Hahaha this got me laughing so hard. Both are really solid points and can actually be the reason of the alleged delay. Another point would be Mishka. or "Mini Mariah" as Stella likes to say, was not given enough face time.

Re: Physic (64,060) (64,071) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
"I think people just don't want to accept that Mariah may actually be enjoying this cheaper form of attention which is celebrity over her craft." As harsh as it sounds, it looks like this is exactly what's happening. I don't know if she is doing it because she enjoys it or that she thinks it makes her cool (which it really doesn't) or that she thinks this is what it feels to be free (possibly influenced by Stella) but this isn't a flattering look.

Re: Mariah's World on hold at E (64,069) (64,070) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
I hope this isn't true. It better not be, if it is, I'll be majorly pissed at Team Mariah. Their roll outs are extremely bad. Tickets for Mariah's new leg of SSFT were put on sale and Mariah didn't even make an announcement yet. Same goes for the SSFT in Europe and South Africa. There was little to no promo and people only bought tickets because of Mariah's brand and because she was visiting Europe after years and people didn't want to miss the chance. The roll out for #1 To Infinity was also bad, save for the cover reveal. They hyped out the music video with how epic it will be and how it is all ready and the rumors about the action sequence and then announced the video will be released with the single, instead we got a lame amateurish lyric video with clips from "Honey". What's the connection of "Infinity" with "Honey"? So lame. Then came the projects which were talked about and then forgotten. The RatPac movie, the "Infinity Remix" (whether you like it or not is besides the point, they hyped it up with Justin Bieber dropping in and then bam no sign of it), then the single that was supposed to be "coming soon" which we heard about months back and yet no news. Her latest talk show appearances have been majorly wasted with no real content. Why did she go to promote MW when the show didn't even have an air date or a tentative air date? Why does she never go into details about the show? It's always "dahlin' there are moments", "dahlin' the abuse I endured". Her social medias are a mess, her clothes have gone from bad to cringe worthy. Her new team gets way too much credit for stuff they didn't even do. Mariah needs a music manager if she wants to pursue music projects. She also needs a professional stylist and a professional social media personnel.

Essence Fest (63,999) by Mimi L. from Empower Your Highlighter
According to Mariah Network, Mariah and her band are rehearsing "Make It Happen". I think I will lose my chill. I have been wanting this so much. I can't believe she is including it, that song is everything. It will translate so well into the live audience. So uplifting. Also guys this is a huge platform for Mariah, and all eyes will be on her. People will try to rip her apart the first time something goes wrong. I encourage the lambs to stand beside Mariah and avoid posting comments about possible lip syncing and other problems especially under articles and in forums and message boards. A lot of times the articles go through popular Mariah fan boards to collect info. So please let's support her this time. It's a big opportunity. We can maybe discuss the problems at a later date but not right away. This assuming there will be problems. Just a suggestion. With her current voice and confidence Mariah will be on fire I am sure. I hope she gets up there and gives it her all. Best of luck Mariah, just hold on to your faith and you will do great.
