About Bill from the UK: I love Mariah more than you do.

London Daydream Tour Attendee.

Best/worst album and single covers (42,200) by Bill from the UK
I love topics like this. For albums, my best would be:
1. Emotions (love the sepia tone and the fact Mariah, her name, the album title and the track listing are all at angles)
2. Butterfly (eyes closed, just beautiful and captured the mood of the record perfectly)
3. Music Box (her lovely face).
Worst album covers:
1. Glitter (hate the pink, shimmer, and not a fan of Mariah's bleached blonde look)
2. Rainbow (I remember being embarrassed for Mariah when I saw this in the record store and surprised at how unashamedly sexy it was)
3. MOAIA (don't get the three Mariah thing, think one of her would have worked better)
Single covers:
1. Always be my baby (this is why it is my picture, I squealed when I walked into the record store after school knowing that was the day it came out, and loved the hat, the hair, the gold lettering, everything about it)
2. Vision of love (Mariah and the microphone is somewhat of an iconic image for me)
3. Make it happen (I love the sunny tone, the shadow of Mariah being used for the reverse, just think it's beautiful)
Worst single covers:
1. I'll be lovin' u long time (her head looks elongated)
2. Against all odds (solo version), not a fan of the hair, outfit or pose
3. Don't stop (only really liked the Loverboy shoot from this era)

Kelly Price (42,197) by Bill from the UK
Lol, it's ironic that everybody's up in arms about Kelly Price and what she supposedly said about Mariah, when all we do ourselves is sit here criticising the way her voice sounds now compared to the Daydream era.

Memoirs (42,132) by Bill from the UK
Personally the tracks we've had from the new album so far have all been better than the filler from Memoirs. The only songs I listen to are Betcha Gon Know, HATEU, Ribbon, It's A Wrap and IWTKWLI. The rest? Meh. Beautiful, TAOLG and to a lesser extend YME have all excited me more.

#2's (42,036) by Bill from the UK
I've equally been as baffled by the sings which didn't reach #1 in the UK as well. I'll Be There was constantly on the airwaves at the time, and Mariah did an absolutely stunning rendition of the song on Top of the Pops, almost acapella. Just her, the back up singers and a piano. Absolutely electric performance. AIWFCIY ended up being her biggest seller here in the UK and arguably her best known song here, but was kept off by the rather drab Stay Another Day by East 17. And then of course We Belong Together narrowly missed he top spot, such a disappointment as this would have been Mariah's first #1 here of her own hand.

Isaac (42,018) by Bill from the UK
Wow. Isaac came and went as fast as Triumphant.

You guys (42,007) by Bill from the UK
You all literally have me in hysterics sometimes. I laughed so much at the comment about how MTV Unplugged 2 would be the "final nail in the coffin" and how her appearances are now all about "boobs, ass and attitude", and to the person who said that as fans all we do is complain and argue about every aspect of her career - huge lol. It's funny because it's true. You all are great, don't ever change.

In preparation for May 6th (41,936) by Bill from the UK
1990 facts: "I don't wanna cry" was intended as the second single before the whole "Love takes time" drama happened. 1991 facts: The album was originally titled "The Wind". "You're so cold" was intended as the lead single. "And you don't remember" was intended as the fourth single but plans were dropped after "I'll be there" took off. 1992 facts: "I'll be there" was a last minute addition to the set list (replacing "Vanishing"), decided the evening before the performance. 1993 facts: The original version of "Dreamlover" was deemed too street for Mariah's audience, so Walter Afanasieff produced and re-arranged it accordingly. The original version appeared on the Australian single under the guise of the "Bam Jam Soul Mix". 1994 facts: A fun, mock song was recorded called "He carves the roast beast", which was Mariah messing around with the Price sisters. 1995 facts: Rumours around why "Slipping away" was kept off the album are either due to the lyrical content strongly resembling Mariah and Tommy's failing marriage, or because it was thought as too R&B for her audiences. 1997 facts: Walter and Mariah ended their professional relationship during the making of the "Butterfly" album. As such, many of the tracks he was involved with are unfinished by his standards. He citied "My all" and "Whenever you call" as sparse ballads missing his usual schmaltzy flair. 1998 facts: The original album cover was a black and white shot of Mariah in the limo from the photo shoot for the single cover for "The Roof". A second disc, featuring remixes was planned but scrapped. This second disc became the promotional "12's" box set. So disc one would have been "1's" and disc two "12's". 1999 facts: Mariah completed the album in three months (as opposed to four years.) A duet with Lauryn Hill entitled "Crystal ball" was written but never saw the light of day. 2001 facts: The "Firecracker" sample which Jennifer Lopez stole can be heard on the remix of "Loverboy". Da Brat sings her diss to J.Lo to the Firecracker melody (hate on me much as you want to, you can't do what the bleep I do, just be imitating me daily). "Lead the way" was a leftover track from "Butterfly". I don't know anymore about her recent releases. Any of you all got anything else others may not know?

Lamb from the USA / length of posts (41,934) by Bill from the UK
Lol, I do agree with you. Sometimes I am guilty of writing too much. When scrolling through this board I read the titles and if the post is long I'm like "Whatever, I'm getting cheese fries."

JT (41,910) by Bill from the UK
Wouldn't it be cool if Mariah either remade or used the unreleased version of Yours for the new album with Justin? I've always longed to hear that track, and the solo version was one of the best tracks on Charmbracelet, shame that never made it out as a single.

Champagne (41,815) by Bill from the UK
It's plain as day to me that the champagne is what is wrecking her career. I was watching an old video from 1996 on YouTube and she was saying how all she drinks is water and honey tea "to help her voice". I remember at the Daydream concert in London (oh what a night that was, so glad I saw her during her peak) she regularly paused to drink honey and lemon tea between songs. Now it's splashes this and splashes that. She can barely strong a sentence together now in interviews and cannot sing live anymore. Whatever issues she has which is causing her to depend on alcohol, she needs to take her own advice and let go.

Lol (41,782) by Bill from the UK
Every time I come on here now, we seem to be talking more about Issac than Mariah lol. I read the article about YME tanking and, personally, I get it. To me it sounded like a slowed down Your Girl to the We Belong Together beat. Just didn't click for me. That said, I loved Beautiful and TAOLG. I still play Beautiful a lot because I love the guitar and the driving drum loop, it sounds fresh and current. YME sounded like another WBT rehash. We've had WBT, Don't Forget About Us, I Stay In Love, Angels Cry. How many more before she gives up on trying to recreate a ten year old hit?

Facebook pictures (41,091) by Bill from the UK
Who else loves the black and white pictures on Mariah's Facebook page, with her holding the microphone? I really hope they are used for the new album.

You're Mine (41,077) by Bill from the UK
It would appear all the videos on YouTube of the audio from the BET concert have been deleted to suppress the leak. Only a few more days to wait. I will be honest though I wasn't exactly elated with the song. The only lead off songs I have loved have been AIWFCIY, Fantasy, Heartbreaker and Touch My Body.

Dreamlover (40,894) by Bill from the UK
Being a UK fan, hearing Mariah on the radio is a rare treat. When she is played, it's usually an adult contemporary station playing Hero. I was waiting in all day for a delivery on Wednesday, and had the radio on (Magic 105.4 for those in the UK). I almost peed my pants when I heard the first bars of Dreamlover playing! I haven't heard that on the radio here since 1995! The only songs I've heard in the last ten years are Hero, Without You, I'll Be There, We Belong Together and of course AIWFCIY. Just thought I'd share the highlight of my day.

Dedication (40,830) by Bill from the UK
Well amongst all these posts for Isaac there's some people talking about a new single. A collab with Nas would be great, I loved the Make It Last remix of TGIFY more than the original. So dream-like and soulful. If it's more of the same then I can't wait.

Hair (40,790) by Bill from the UK
Lol, due to the lack of music and noteworthy news, let's talk about her hair. I agree that the blonde look is tired now. I've never liked it as it never suited her skin tone. The dark, honey coloured, straightened look she was sporting post-separation (when she started with the mini skirts) was beautiful, especially with the earth toned make up she wore back then. She was sexy yet also classy and not too far removed from Music Box Mariah. Now it's like she's a totally different person entirely.

Should Mariah "let go" of the original album title? (40,760) by Bill from the UK
That's an interesting question that's being raised about changing the album's title. To me, it feels like "Angel's Advocate", the doomed remix album which never saw the light of day. I wouldn't be that upset if Mariah didn't include Beautiful and TAOLG on the album if she wanted to start fresh. I highly doubt Triumphant will make the cut as that was probably her worst-received single in history, by critics and fans alike. Because the album's title has been bandied about for so long, it's lost its edge now unfortunately. My concern now is that if the V-Day single tanks, that she'll push back again. It's like she's tried to launch the album since Triumphant but is waiting to do so off the back of a smash hit. She'll be in for a long wait if that's the strategy.

You give good love (40,669) by Bill from the UK
It amazes me how some people have already hung, drawn and quartered Mariah for a rumoured cover! I think the lack of an album is sending some people stir crazy. Less than a month now until the new song, I can't wait! Are you hoping for a ballad, up-tempo, mellow R&B number, or something completely new?

Like if you've had enough of this stupid debate about what Mariah posted on Twitter.

NYE performance (40,376) by Bill from the UK
Happy New Year to each and every one of you. I hope it brings you peace and happiness. It's nice to read the comments about Mariah's performance of TAOLG on NYE but, forgive me, but wasn't this performance lipped? I don't believe this was 100% live.

Buble special (40,253) by Bill from the UK
I've just seen it on YouTube. Great duet, even though I can't stand Michael Buble (how someone who just speaks their songs got so popular is beyond me). Mariah did a good performance, and has improved leaps and bounds since the car crash of the tree lighting ceremony. I hope that was something of a wake up call for her.

Lamb O Chop (40,184) by Bill from the UK
Hi. Yes I do know the difference between an excuse and a reason. A reason is based on something factual. The reason boiling water is scalding is because it is 100 degrees. An excuse is something based on something with no supportive evidence. Mariah's performance was bad because it was cold. Nope, not going to fly with me, I'm sorry. It was bad because she was either unprepared or did not care for her voice properly. Celine has been singing as long as Mariah has. They are around the same age and have been singing all their lives. Celine is sensible with her voice and as such it has been preserved relatively well. Mariah wasn't, and it hasn't. Believe me, as a fan of her music and a follower of her career, I hate seeing her go the way of Whitney. I'd love for Daydream tour vocals to be back, but it's not going to happen if she continues drinking in excess.

Excuses, excuses (40,163) by Bill from the UK
I think everybody is dancing around the obvious here. No "lamb" wants to admit it, but there is a very heavy suggestion that Mariah has a drinking problem. Her public appearances are very odd and the most telling sign is of course the state of her voice. There is absolutely no reason why she cannot sing well, because every so often she does a great performance. It is entirely self inflicted and if she was more responsible and stopped the daily "splashes" she'd be fine. Every singer in the world, except Mariah it would seem, knows alcohol is one of the worst things for your singing voice. If she wants to carry on then so be it, she can do what she wants, but please stop these lame half-baked excuses. Plenty of mediocre singers perform perfectly well in cold weather people! Singing for three minutes should be a walk in the park for a singer of Mariah's calibre.

Rocking around the Christmas III (40,046) by Bill from the UK
Lol, great album title! The Perfect Year was by Dina Carroll, not Diana. I am a huge fan of hers, even though she only made two albums. Mariah fans should check her out as I'm sure you'll like Perfect Year and Don't Be A Stranger. She was a wonderful singer, I hope the rumours of her putting out a new album are true. I've always wished Mariah would sing Cold Cold Christmas by Dana, and Tennessee Christmas by Amy Grant. Even though she isn't from the deep south, it's still a lovely song.

Hark (40,040) by Bill from the UK
That performance was from December 1991, not 1994. I have the video of it. I'm excited for the Buble duet, I hope she doesn't mess it up. I think she needs to stop focus on new material in December as AIWFCIY is in heavy rotation and will distract people from her new stuff.
