It's not uncommon for kids of that age to pick out their own clothes. What they choose to throw together to put on may not look great, but it's healthy to allow kids to make their own choices sometimes when dressing as part of their own identity and creativity. Now I'm sure it's not all the outfits she chooses, but maybe some. Personally, I don't see anything wrong with what she wears. And she's only a kid after all.

What do people think is Mariah's best ballad? For me it's Music Box. What do other people think?

Beautiful video clip (37,822)

Well, personally I really love the video clip. It puts a big smile on my face. I think it just shows a man who wants his woman to dance sexy for him and she feels completely comfortable doing this in front of him because of how confident he makes her feel. What's wrong with that? I think it's nice. To me it doesn't feel dirty or perverted at all, but just shows two people who are completely elated with each other. It suits the song lyrics to a tee.

Almost Home chart success (37,270)

"Listen" sung by Beyonce for the Soundtrack album Dreamgirls did not perform fantastic on the charts however like Mariah's new song it was amazing vocally and critically acclaimed. And Beyonce is one of the biggest pop stars of this decade. If this doesn't perform well, I don't think it has anything to do with Mariah being passed her prime are unable to have another hit. It might just be cause this song (like "Listen") is a soundtrack song and has a different feel to what is current/mainstream on the pop charts. A good song doesn't necessarily perform well, just like a bad song can sell well (of course what's good and bad is all opinion based with no right or wrong answer). If it doesn't fair well on the charts, it doesn't mean it's a failure, people are just too hard on Mariah. Anyway, we will see what happens.

Almost Home (37,256)

Pop gold as far as I'm concerned. That chorus is just so catchy, and the vocals are out of this world. Return of the voice for sure. The general consensus on this board is that it's great, so let's not all stress if it doesn't fair so well on the charts. As long as her biggest fans are all pleased, that should be enough. Although I have a feeling this will be a hit. I'm personally more excited about this song than when We Belong Together first hit the airwaves. Go Mariah.

I agree with what some people are saying in recent posts. Nicki talks more confidently and chooses her words better. It's like Mariah isn't a confident speaker or something. She doesn't know what words are coming next out of her mouth and sometimes drifts off. If anything, I believe it's a confidence thing. Is she forgetting who she is? She could be giving great advice and drawing on her experiences, but it's almost like she doesn't know what to say. She always talks well in interviews, so it's not like she can't talk well, it's just like she isn't confident/experienced as a mentor. Nicki just seems more relaxed in general, while Mariah seems a bit in her own head. Maybe she's thinking too much, I don't know what it is, but something just doesn't seem natural. She just seems to be focused on how she presents herself and I think you can very clearly tell she's very image conscious in front of the cameras. Anyway, that's just my opinion. I certainly don't think she's doing a bad job or anything, I guess some people just take on a mentor role better than others. I know I'd be a terrible mentor - I prefer to be led rather than lead. Maybe she's the same.

Australian concerts (37,035)
by Scott from USA

So Mariah would be about to take the stage for her final Australian concert. I hope she alters her set list slightly. Mariah has had two number ones in Australia: Fantasy and We Belong Together and yet she hasn't been singing Fantasy. She opened the show with this when I saw her in Morocco, so I do find it strange that she wouldn't do the same in a country where the song went to number one and instead open with a song that many in the crowd won't know at all. I suppose you can't please everyone, but she should at least be trying to please the majority - sing Fantasy!

Wow. She sounds great in the videos I've heard on YouTube. Lucky Australians. I saw her in Morocco, she was fantastic, but I think she sounds better in these Brisbane performances. I like the set list that she's chosen which I read about in an article. Have to say, I did notice her voice doing that split thing during Don't Forget About Us. You can hear some whistle notes coming out while she's trying to belt. Such a strange thing really

Hmmm. Have you read her autobiography and the story about how Mariah was throwing cubes of ice at that girl who had started working with Walter Afanasief? I'm not saying that's majorly disrespectful, but I do personally think that Mariah would have a bitchy side. I can also imagine she could be at times difficult to work with, but after being in the industry for so long and her knowing how it all works, I certainly don't blame her for that. No doubt she has learnt the hard way who she can and can't trust. I guess what I'm saying is that I can imagine she would be very high maintenance, regardless of how lovely she is and I think getting on her bad side could be trouble. I also got a tiny insight into what she may be like to work with when I personally saw her having a diva moment on the side of the stage in the dark at the Morocco concert. It was one of the highlights of the concert for me. Ha ha. So no, I certainly don't think Mariah deserved the comments made by Nicki Minaj, but I can imagine she could be difficult to work with.
