TJ from Norway - Rihanna (36,499) by Lourenço from Portugal Hey TJ. Well, concerning the Rihanna subject, I don't believe she has sold 20 million in the UK alone. She has had huge success regarding single sales, but you don't really see her albums getting to the top 5 that much, either in the US or Europe, so it leads me into thinking that despite having 11 singles reaching the top spot, her cd sales have never done as well (except for the "S.o.S" album). Going back to the Whitney topic, I agree with you when you say that most of her hits were prior to 92, still after that point and untill 2000 she kept selling hugely well, either with "The preacher's wife" or with "My love is your love". I mean, only with those two albums she sold more than Ri, who on a personal note, I consider to be talentless. She could pretty well be a porno star and be a great one, but she lacks the talent to be a real singer. (Saturday 13 October 2012; 0:21)

(36,463) by Lourenço from Portugal Well some comments keep surprising me, so concerning the absence of Michael and Whitney on this top 40, I read someone's comment alleging that Whitney hadn't had that many hits in the past twenty years. Well, The Bodyguard went out in 93 and it's the most successful album ever released by any woman. And then she kept having good selling albums for the rest of the decade. She doesn't come on the list, because she is an RnB singer and the chart is about "pop song artist". (Tuesday 9 October 2012; 21:06)

Rihanna and charts (36,462) by Lourenço from Portugal Hello everyone. I decided to write after the growing fuss about the Billboard chart pop songs artists. As the name shows, the chart is exclusively about pop songs in the last twenty years, so Rnb and soul are excluded (Whitney Houston and most Mariah songs such as Fantasy, Once Sweet Day, We Belong Together, Against All Odds, and so on). Having said that, I´m pretty happy she managed to get the 5th place, although I personally think Britney should be on the first spot, taking into account that she is far more successful both in CD sales and singles sales, as well as tours. Oh, I couldn't help getting surprised when I read a user's comment stating that Rihanna has sold more than Mariah in this century. That is completely false, only TEOM, Glitter and Charmbracelet together sold about 20 million CD's which is far more than Ri has sold. It's her singles that sell a lot, and even so Mariah is much more successful than Ri from 00 to this very moment. (Tuesday 9 October 2012; 20:55)
