Not connecting with The Rarities (96,380) by amends from Germany I've been listening to the LP a lot and I really want to love it but somehow I am not connecting with the album. I feel like I should love Loverboy (Firecracker) and other songs on the album but somehow it's just not doing much inside of me. Obviously I love EFA, Slipping Away and DYTOM. I've been blasting those songs for a long time though, so nothing new there. The memoir on the other hand I appreciated very much. Coming from Arab parents and being gay, growing up in Germany and always feeling like an imposter in some way - I for one understand the hair obsession Mariah had as a child and the damage something simple like this can leave behind. The book is her truth and sometimes it's easier to lie to yourself so much that it becomes your reality. Not saying I'm making any excuses for MC - she has her issues and she is dealing (or not) with them in her own way. If writing that book helped her emotionally, I am happy for her. I have nothing against her - actually saw her perform once and it was fun. Since it's rock music I depend more on energy then anything else because the crowd in our particular music genre doesn't give a shit about pitch but care about performance and raw emotions. I don't want anyone to get me wrong, I love Mc since 1994 and I have been following her career relentlessly. I do believe if she'd gain the technique and control back she'd deliver performances that the general public could appreciate more and not just die hard fans. And I rather have her mimic the whistles then being able to hear the difference between live vocals and pre recorded stuff so obviously. (Monday 9 July 2018; 21:07)

Got my ticket (58,523) by amends from Germany Ahhhh, so freaking excited. I have just received my tickets for the tour in Germany/Cologne. My best friend and my boyfriend wanted to share this moment with me. Very happy they are tagging along. My boy and I have seen her in Vegas already and after waiting for such a long time I can't believe I'm seing her in the span of 1 year.
