I can't remember the last time that I posted a message on this board but I had to share this information. Shania Twain performed 105 shows over 2 years at Caesar's. She's been all over Canadian television promoting her upcoming farewell tour, and her message has been consistent. Vegas was the most demanding gig of her career yet after a publicized and painful divorce, as well as major issues with her vocal chords (that Lionel Richie and Gladys Knight helped her overcome), she needed to do it in order to conquer her insecurities as a performer and the misfortunes of her personal life. Sounds exactly like Mariah's current state to me. Firstly, honesty is the best policy. People can tell that something has been off about your voice for years. Vulnerability translates into sympathy. Secondly, Vegas is no joke. Mariah needs to be fully dedicated to her show through vocal coaching and physical rest. She can't be pulling all-nighters in the studio with JD (like last week). This gig could potentially help her overcome her insecurities as a singer, performer, and individual, but it needs committment. Shania mentioned that Caesar's has a great production team that made her wish list come true. Mariah rehired David Korins, who designed her NYC Christmas shows.
