MC30 updates (95,240)
by Colin from UK
| |
|
|
Not sure if people are familiar with the We Miss Music website, but they are keeping a comprehensive listing of Mariah's MC30 releases. They are bang up to date including the Butterfly era 5 EP releases coming tomorrow, Friday 28th.
They also mention that in addition to Mariah's debut album being released on vinyl, Rainbow will be released on a double vinyl on 6th November 2020.

You are bang on right Andrew, I’ve always had similar sentiments. As always, thank you for giving a much needed point of balance.

Happy birthday Anthony. Take it from an old man (ha) who has been there, life has been great when I hit 30 (plus quite a few). Wishing you every bit of health, happiness and success in 2019 and beyond.

Love and best wishes to you Andrew at this truly devastating time. For those whose lives were touched in anyway by Martyn it is inconceivable that he is no longer with us. Be strong and know that Martyn's spirit lives on and his memory will always be honoured on this board and beyond.

Re: [censored] Andrew (67,137) (67,155)

I haven't posted here for a very long time but I wanted to correct the assumption that starting a sentence with a conjunction is incorrect. There is widespread belief, which has no historical or grammatical foundation, that you cannot start a sentence with a conjunction (and, so, because, to name a few) when in fact you can. Many highly respectable writers do and have done since Anglo Saxon times. I agree that teachers, mine included, strictly taught that you should not and would correct you if you did, but this was not taught based on fact but rather opinion and myth. I would also agree that you wouldn't want to start all sentences with a conjunction as this would lead to unattractive prose and would make sentences seem fragmented and this may also be one of the reasons why teachers "banned" the use of it. I remember my teachers telling me that I should never start a sentence with "because" but would constantly hear my parents say, "because I said so" or indeed, perhaps the most known use of because as an introductory word is in the advertising tag line, "because you're worth it". And it didn't do them any harm.

Shame really, given the expressions of interest that there has been in the past. I appreciate you trying to pull something together though. Should anything go ahead in the future, definitely count me in.

Andrew: Carey-oake (54,931)
by Colin from UK

Yes Andrew, definitely up for a UK fan gathering. I was, at one time, looking to arrange something and believe we have exchanged emails on this previously. Unfortunately, I suffered a personal family crisis which meant I could no longer organize or participate at that time. My situation is now such, that I would be interested in being actively involved in a UK fan event of some kind. Email me, colinclarke1977@gmail.com and let's talk.
