I'm happy for Brenda too. What a cool lady. The new video is cute.

Rockin' Around (104,388) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I have seen so many versions of "If it's over", maybe I have it on my laptop. But I'm too lazy to check it. The background of the performance and the video somehow seemed "new" to me, so it's okay if you're all shocked. But I remember East 17 with "Stay another day" and "It's alright" they were huge in the good old Bundesrepublik Deutschland too. The good 90ies, I miss them. They were so much better compared to today not only chartwise. And we could go carefree to Christmas markets, I'm depressed because what's going on here since 2015. I'll stop it here and say something nice. It's snowing right now. It looks like a winter wonderland. I saw the new video with Brenda in a morning show. It was nice. Mariah and Brenda could do a Rockabilly Christmas song together. Would be fun. We have a Justin Bieber version, why not something with Brenda Lee?

Emotions formula (104,380) by MusicfanJ from Germany
No, certainly not. Lol I know almost all her live gigs, but not all. I'm happy that I missed some, so I can enjoy it now. I'm sure I know some gigs and interviews she did in Germany, France, Italy and UK which you don't know as well.

If Mariah likes it, then I like it (104,378) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I have a huge Stevie collection too. I started to listen because he's Mariah's favourite. His number ones are often played on the radio, so I knew I liked his music. "That girl" and Mariah, that's cool. By the way great topic. I also own the movies "Pretty in Pink" and "Mean Girls" because of Mariah. Plus I have many things about New York and books. This year I even have an NY advent calendar (gift from a friend). One more thing, I also have great admiration for Marilyn Monroe. And I bought Tupacs best of CD, because Mariah is a "fan".

I love "If it's over". One of her best ballads and we know she has so many. But I didn't know this live performance. Wow just wow. Mariah at her best. That's the reason why she's the one and only Mariah Carey.

Christmas songs (early bird special) (104,354) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Hi Tevin, thanks for your suggested songs by Taylor. I liked them all but "Dear John" is my favourite. I always say I want a jazz album by Mariah which I still do. I think Mariah could also do some country, gospel and retro-soul. She can sing every genre like she never did something else. That's rare.

Emotions formula (104,332) by MusicfanJ from Germany
So true. My my mother has the "original" debut vinyl from 90, she bought it right after hearing the phenomenal "Vision of love". I didn't know she had her debut. But when I became a fan with Daydream, she told me she loved "Vision of love". She also loves Sade, I have my musical taste from her.

Yes, it may be only business. But I still believe he isn't the nice guy everyone thinks he is. I always liked the other Nysnc [sic] members more. Lol. One thing is sure Justin was always very clever in his entertainment business. I have a feeling that "Yours" won't be released soon. We'll see if Mariah surprises us.

There was a documentary about the nipplegate with Janet Jackson. And Justin didn't go well on the docu. That "Yours" with him as a duet wasn't released because he feared about his "good name" and career says it all. He's the real slim shady. Lol.

Yes, I can't stand Justin Timberlake. He always played the nice guy, but he really seems like a bad snake. So "Yours" without him is fine. "There for me" is a beautiful song. Should have been a bonus track on Glitter.

Grio Award (104,247) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Congratulations. What a speech, I really felt it. Bravo Mariah. By the way, was there Dwanye Johnson in the audience? Sweet smile for Mariah. When Mariah said: music belongs to her soul. And Mariah's music belongs to my soul too.

Grio performances (104,246) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I've always loved her speaking alto voice. So cool and "sexy". I could listen for hours, just Mariah talking. Lol. Her speaking voice is calming to me.

Christmas songs (early bird special) (104,156) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yes, Taylor Swift seems very relatable. I only know "Shake it off" and her debut country album. Lol I had friends from Texas, they told me to give the album a try when it came out. Back then I never thought Taylor Swift would be the biggest female pop star chartwise in 2023.

Mop the Floor song (104,129) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I love it. Mariah with the mop. It's hilarious. I would buy the mop song. Lol I've always loved her humour since day one, I wish more people would see how funny she is and not just the diva.

Dolly Parton releases a rock album (104,113) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Oh yes, that's a dream of mine too. I would love smooth and jazzy tunes. I hope one day we will get something like this. "Mesmerized" and "Lullaby of Birdland" are showing how it could sound.

Dolly Parton releases a rock album (104,107) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Yesterday I saw in the news that Dolly Parton is releasing a rock album. With the age of 77 I find it pretty cool. I think she has great humour. In the interview they asked from Country to Rock? And she said, because she's in the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame so she had to do an album for the genre.

Bryan Tanaka (104,106) by MusicfanJ from Germany
If it's true, that's tough stuff. In my heart I always hope the best, but I often get dissapointed by people. That's a reason I stay away from superficial ones. Down to earth people never hurt me. But with Bryan a lot of you never trusted him. I just thought Mariah was happy with him. It's really sad if they broke up. The "superlove". Mariah deserves a real partner who loves her the human. And of course her kids.

As always beautiful written Mara. You described it so well with the "auto pilot". I also think her inner sparkle is missing. Last year it was there and she was shining. Yes, maybe she's just tired. I hope she's okay. I also wondered that there are no new pics with Bryan. Of course it's private but usually they post pics during Thanksgiving and the Christmas season. We'll see. I hope she's ready for the concerts and can enjoy it with the lambily.

Saint Harison (104,019) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Absolutely. I think one reason why Taylor Swift is so big is because there's no real competition anymore. There's only Adele in that age group. Compared to the 80ies and 90ies the music biz is really boring and almost dead. I had to google who Saint Harison is and started a song, but I couldn't listen more than 30 seconds. Bill I have the same thought. The voice is strange and unpleasant to my ears. I will listen to Marvin Gaye's album "What's goin' on" tonight. Masterpiece. The rythmn of "Inner City Blues" always gets me, music used to be so good.

Fantasy (104,010) by MusicfanJ from Germany
It was very interesting to read your thoughts. I really like to get into Christmas spirit and "Mariah spririt". Mariah spirit, that's cool. With all the bad news every day I need some fantasy. It's good for the soul.

Mariah, please be ready (104,001) by MusicfanJ from Germany
Again I absolutely agree with Andrew on the confidence topic. Mariah was confident during those years. One can watch all her great performances online. She was the queen of Pop and RnB and her performances were great and often outstanding. Yes, she was never an "entertainer" but I never needed a circus number from a singer. I loved her magic, sweet aura on stage. Even in 2003 during Charmbracelet tour, she was very confident. A real diva and even entertaining. (Piano performance like a Marilyn Monroe.) She had so much energy and a "having fun" vibe. Superstar power all over. Haha isn't there a rumour with the aliens who kidnapped the real Mariah in 96? But seriously, Mariah can be fantastic on stage. She has it all. The confidence thing is not the problem.

First Cheech, then Chong, now the Chin (103,951) by MusicfanJ from Germany
I hope not. Surgery is not needed at all. If I look at the great Helen Mirren, she has more charisma than all the teens and twens together. No one is perfect and that's good. Mariah was a natural beauty. Her more natural pics are always stunning and beautiful.
