Andrew, dahhhling, please keep in mind that Mariah is at a point in her life where she has absolutely nothing left to prove. She owns 5 Grammys, sold over 200 million records worldwide, has had 18 number one hits, performed all over the world and is hopefully hella busy counting all her blessings, because I know I would. Mariah has some rough years behind her and I think, that she just wants to have some fun in her life.
I can't imagine what it's like to be in this industry for 29 years, because I already get tired by watching her schedule. Mariah is that kinda woman, that can put on a Hollywood smile for the cameras, even there is a mess going on behind the scenes. Also remember she turns 49, even we aren't counting numbers, this isn't an easy age for any woman out there. She is touring, putting out new music, serving some good looks lately and still some lambs aren't happy about it.
Yes, I'm not a big fan of her new material, that's no secret. But I appreciate the fact, that she is performing some old songs within this tour, while sounding pretty good singing them.
Mariah had some fantastic fan moments in the past few month and to be honest, I don't know any other superstar like her, who is always so kind towards her fans and showing them so much love.
At this point, I'm very proud of her, because we already lost MJ, George Michael, Prince, Whitney, Amy Winehouse and many other singers way too soon. We all should be happy that Mimi is still alive and she is doing fine.
She will never be the same Mariah she was 20 years ago, which is totally fine to me, because I can always listen to the songs of my KWEEN of the 90's and sing the hell out of them, while moisturizing my slender physique.
Mariah is trying to deliver and if you didn't receive her delivery yet, my sweetheart, let her go. I know you want her to succeed, like most of us want her to succeed, but negativity isn't the key to success. I'm sending you some positive vibes, Andrew.

I've asked Schwesta Ewa (a german rapper) via Instagram and she immediately wrote back that the original is "Rain Dance" by Jeff Lorber Fusion.

Mariah sampled Schwesta Ewa's song "Tunneln und so" for "A No No".

Too many bubbles for my taste (85,180)
by Kevyn from Germany

Mariah seems to be not the only one living in a bubble. It's kinda cute that some people really think "The Distance" has a hit potential while most of us deep down know it has not.
This song is a pretty boring filler - nothing more and nothing less. It's almost insulting to Mariah to call this a "classic, contemporary Mariah Carey song", while this song sounds so 2008 and like a leftover from last decade.
Sometimes I truly can't believe that Mariah wrote songs like "Hero", "Butterfly" or "My all" and now writes songs like "GTFO" or "The Distance". Seems like two completley different artists to me.
Her concerts are also pretty boring, she is singing the same songs over and over again and I really don't want to see half naked men dancing circles around her. Sorry.
Mariah has changed and that's perfectly fine to me. But I refuse to support an elderly woman cursing in her songs and delivering poor quality to her listeners. I'm pretty sure that I'm not the only one.

Re: Mariah: queen of the redo (84,808) (84,813)

The 90's Mariah was an absolute perfectionist and a beast, when it comes to her work in the studio. I don't know any other singer on this planet with studio acapellas like the ones of Mariah. If I missed something, let me know. Whitney's voice always sounded like a powerful voice of a good singer. Mariah, on the other hand, sometimes sounds almost angelic and unreal. Soft, airy, rich, melismatic and her whistles, that blend so very well with most of her songs, took studio recordings to the next level. Even her backup singers, who were extremely talented, said in an interview back then, that they couldn't believe Mariah's voice was real. Mariah didn't start singing in a church, but started working in the studio when she was 14. Mariah is the queen of flawless studio vocals. I'm sorry, true story. We all heard plenty of singers singing "I will always love you" or "I have nothing" while sounding pretty good while I've never heard anybody singing "Hero" or "My all" the way Mariah could do it back in the day. Not one single person. Whitney Houston's studio vocals are Rolls Royce, but Mimi's a Bugatti.

Bleakriah at the AMA's (84,642)
by Kevyn from Germany

I really don't know what to say. Maybe I should keep my mouth shut, because what I have to say, is everything but nice. Her "performance", if you even can call it like that, was exactly what I predicted and wrote here on this messageboard two days ago. Mariah in a cheap looking and way too small dress, just standing stiffly in front of a microphone and pretend to sing her new song. If this is what some Lambs call a "evolved Mariah" then I'm out of it. I neither need the amount of money Mariah has, nor 18 number one songs on the Billboard charts to be able to share my thoughts. That some Lambs dare to say she sung live is absolutley ridiculous.

Will Mariah sing live at the AMA's? (84,555)
by Kevyn from Germany
| |

I don't know why but I have the strange feeling that her performance at the American Music Awards will become a flop. Mariah is neither able to sing "With you" nor "GTFO" with her current voice live, so I don't know which song she will perform? If Mariah really dares to stay stiffly in front of her microphone on stage and pretend to sing any of these two songs I know this will be her last performance on any important award show. I really want Mariah to succeed but she's literally doing everything to destroy her status as "Songbird Supreme". You really need to know when your time is up and if that's the case you should focus on something else. She still can rock Vegas and the Christmas season each and every year without releasing weak songs once in a while just to stay relevant. I'm also really tired of seeing Mariah running around in lingerie while drinking alcohol at every possible situation and cursing in her songs.

Re: New album (82,904) (82,908)

Dahhhling, please. Mariah is living a very lavish lifestyle and she doesn't tour around the globe for her backup singers or her band but much more because she needs the cash. She had to sold her own G4 (private jet) a few years ago and recently even sold her engagement ring. Mariah talked about her serious financial problems back in 2001 and all the hundreds of millions, that people think she owns, do not exist. She mentioned it herself at TRL. "The money ain't in my bank account." Of course she has enough money to live a good life, but she is no James Packer. He could afford to pay $100,000 a month to order Mariah exotic flowers from all over the world and gifting her with expensive jewellery, because he is a billionaire. Some people live in denial if they think Mariah doesn't need the money to keep her lifestyle the way it is.

Why do some lambs talk about a comeback? (79,609)
by Kevyn from Germany
| |
|

I don't know in what universe some of you lambs live, but in my universe Mariah has never left the game. Since 29 years she is working her butt off, to be on top of the game and to be honest, at this point I don't see any reason why she should release another album. I know, some of you may hate me for writing this, but Mariah needs a break. Last year she said in an interview with Sat1 (German TV broadcaster) that she's been traveling the world since her early twenties and still didn't see much of it, because she's busy heading from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the next show. That's sad, isn't it? Beyoncé said something very similar a few years ago and she took a break to experience the world and did normal stuff like, for example, picking up her nephew from school, because she didn't have own children back then. Mariah isn't just a singer aka diva, she's also a mother and in my opinion she should take a break to experience what it's really like to be a mommy. She describes dem babies as her "best friends" and I'm sorry, but that seems wrong to me on so many levels. It's also not smart from Mimi firing nannies 24/7, because her children start to bond with their nanny. Long story short: Mimi should take a break, rest her voice, have some fun and do all the normal things with her children most mommies do. This is one side of Mariah I would like to see a little more often in the future. I really don't know if people get what I'm trying to say. Let them miss you sometimes, when you're always available, they take you for granted, because they think you will always stay.

A few minutes ago Mariah's Instagram slave posted a picture and she looks radiant. You betta werk that gastric sleeve surgery, dahhhling. After her weight loss that 10 million dollar compensation ring from her former business partner aka fiance will look ever bigger.
